We did back-to-back cruises: Singapore to Sydney (with stops in Bali and all around Australia) and then Sydney to New Zealand, ending in Sydney again. Solstice had just come out of dry dock rennovations. These were our 5th and 6th cruises. Will talk about the first leg here: Singapore to Sydney. SOLSTICE: She is a beautiful ship! The crew keeps her spotless! Beautiful art work and public ...

Chose Solstice because of positive reviews and their General reputation of being a superior cruise line. We stayed at the Hotel Boss in Singapore. This is a new budget hotel with very small rooms but for an overnight stay it was good The embarkation on 31st October can only be described as a disaster. From the time we arrived at the terminal until we stepped aboard the ship was 3 hours. Never ...

Having cruised previously with several other cruise companies, we chose Celebrity solely because of the itinerary. Living in England, a chance to see some of Australia and New Zealand with days in Singapore before and Sydney afterwards justified the long haul flights. Embarkation in Singapore was a farce, taking two and a half hours! The TV and Safe didn't work in our cabin and our cases ...

Arriving at terminal in Singapore to find total disaster, nobody seemed to know what was going on, finally boarded after over 2 hours waiting. cabin on the ship was very good, staff were mostly nice, Food was quite good, Tried the specialty dining, not worth the extra money. One of the worst aspects of the trip was the tendering, Slow getting of in Bali, very slow getting off in Cairns, Disaster ...

Embarkation at Singapore was a nightmare, 2 hours and 15 minutes in really bad conditions never mind the heat the fumes from the bus station very choking, and this goes down as our worst ever embarkation, once on the ship our problems really began, we were very tired and just wanted a bit of peace and quiet, but we did not get in hammer banging and power tools being used, we put it down to last ...

Singapore, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. Craft Beers on shore help us survive

We were told to have our main luggage ready in our Singapore hotel room at 9 o'clock on the morning of departure so that we would get on the boat early. We were told to vacate the hotel at 11:30am and board the coach. At 11:20 we called reception to say our luggage was still in the room. No luggage had been collected from anyone. A hotel manager collected ours personally and a holiday rep in ...

The trip didn't begin well due to the embarkation chaos at Singapore. People were told to come at staggered times but most ignored this and the port were not able to deal with things. It took us 2 hours but others took longer. Once on board the cabins were ready however and luggage arrived within 30 min. We dined at the Epernay restaurant every night, and the food remained excellent with ...

Not impressed with Celebrity like we were in the past.

We like to sail Celebrity and we like the Captains Club benefits. We decided on this cruise because we hadn't been to Australia. The thing we noticed is that Celebrity has changed in what we believe to be a negative way. Here are some reasons. 1. On embarkation our room was not a available so we took our champagne and sat near the gelateria. At least on four occasions, a server came by ...

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary, this was my first visit to Australia. Overall, the cruise was very good but I was a little disappointed in a number of areas. The cabin was a little shabby, the door of the sliding wardrobe door did not glide or close properly, and the curtain tie backs were hooked on one side by a safety pin, and the other side the hook coming out of the wall. ...

Solstice to Singapore

This was my third cruise with Celebrity, 2nd on Solstice. Each one has been a bit worse than the previous one. Celebrity seem to have cut back on everything. The quality and choices of food in the main restaurant has gone down considerably and plates were consistently sent back because the food was cold. Entertainment on board was not up to standard. Shows in the theatre were very ...
