We wanted to check out the Panama Canal since it's one of the manmade Wonders of World. We did not realize that this was a repositioning cruise until we were on it (the Pearl is headed up to Alaska for the spring/summer). The itinerary was very good, and since we booked about 8 days before embarkation, the price was extremely attractive. We flew into FLL and rented a car (because we wanted to see ...

This was a repostioning cruise and very good deal when we booked. Unfortunately paying in CDN dollars by the due date certainly increased the cost for us. We were glad of the free gratuity perk offered it really adds up over 21 days. The staff are what makes us come back to NCL as this is our 5th cruise. The extensive itinerary included many places we had not been before was the main ...

Since the Panama Canal was on my bucket list of places to see, this partial transit cruise from Miami fit our schedule perfectly. While this was our first time on the Pearl, we have done all the other "jewel" class ships and really like the size and design of these ships. We found all the staff to be friendly, efficient, and professional. The wait staff in the Summer Palace, the Bistro, and the ...

This was our 5th cruise with NCL. Loading and unloading went smooth as normal. Our room steward was great and kept our room neat and clean with some new towel animals. entertainment was way below par from previous cruises. Do not order the rack of lamb from Le bistro. The other dining was great. The manager from tepinyakia is the best from all of our cruises. We had a big issue with the Asst ...

I have never seen so many morbidly obese, immobile senior citizens in one place in my life. I was shocked at the demographics of the passengers on this cruise. Having said that, we did meet several super nice folks on this cruise with whom we enjoyed chatting with. The Pearl is laid out nicely, and we enjoyed our balcony cabin. The food on the buffet was average, at best, and below average ...

Embarkation was smooth and efficient. The Miami NCL folks have plenty of experience and it shows. Disembarkation was even easier. We used the easy walk off and were through customs by 8:30. We had an interior room. It was clean and everything worked fine. It was dark and quiet so we could sleep late. Our room steward was great. He was friendly, hardworking and kept the room provisioned and ...

This was our fourth cruise in two years. We had previously sailed on the Reflection (Celebrity) the Getaway, the Sky and this cruise. Embarkation was smooth and reasonably quick. We arrived at the pier around 11:40 A.M. and we were on the ship around 1:00 P.M.. We went to the Garden Cafe and our first lunch was enjoyed as the food was great. The cafe was crowded as it usually would be as the ...

This was our first time with NCL and we sailed with them because of their itinerary. We had always wanted to do the Panama Canal so we selected this cruise because we could also hit Columbia, Costa Rica, Belize and another Mexico port. Overall the ship was OK. At least everything was always clean and polished, which is more than I can say for Carnival. The breakfast and lunch buffet was ...

Better than expected

This was my third cruise, and my first with NCL. I was part of a third-party tour group, and our group embarked later in the afternoon. There were no lines, and the process was quick and easy. Our cabin was ready when we arrived, and our luggage arrived quickly. We had a balcony cabin on Deck 9. It was the size we expected; I was traveling with my sister, and the beds were separated making the ...
