We wanted to experience Hawaii without long cramped flights. We knew princess cruises are well done and thought it would be a great alternative. It was!
As expected, the service on Princess is outstanding. The crew has a culture of helpful friendliness. Our cabin Steward (Sahu), waiter (Sretten) and assistant waiter (Tek) were all outstanding. Duke, our cruise director, has a wonderful ...
Very sorry to say after many Princess cruises we have seen the quality deteriorate the last couple years. This recent cruise on Emerald was the icing on the cake and will be our last with them. The food in the MDR has become competitive with the buffet which you long time cruisers know is as bad as it gets. As great as the staff was they couldn't hide the poor food quality and tried to shove as ...
We choose this cruise to see the whales again and we really had a great experience with the whales. We also had never been to Honolulu, Hilo or Kauia. We enjoyed the tour of the Memorial and Mighty Mo. Not so crazy about Hilo - my suggestion would be to book the tour that goes to the National Park. We waited too long to book and tour was full. The tour of Kauai was crazy. Our guide talked ...
To get away from winter. My wish was to have warm weather, freedom from cooking, and other household chores. To have time and areas to relax and read and enjoy the ports and sea days. The weather made that difficult as the ship was usually rocking somewhat..walking was similar to being unbalanced. In ports the excursion in Mazatlan was mediocre and in Cabo changed from original dure to weather ...
the Princess Cruise line offers a good value for the price. We like cruising in the fact we have taken over 10 cruises. The up side to the princess line that they offer cruise from the LA port which we can drive to no flying. Princess cabins are nice well laid out and the balcony is nice and big.. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. A big factor is that staff is not constantly ...
We live in the Pacific NW and a quick trip down to LA and then to Mexico sounded like the perfect antidote to winter. We really enjoyed our cruise on the Emerald and except for a few small issues had an absolutely perfect time. Th e only issues we had is that the lock on our stateroom ran out of battery power, which took about an hour to fix. The other issue is that our experience in Matzalan ...
This was my 8th cruise and my second on The Emerald Princess. The tone of the cruise was set by the staff at the Pier. The weather was a factor but the staff attitude was uncalled for. I’m 67 and my husband 70 and we felt too young to be in this cruise. The ship is old decor and the cruisers fit the decor. The entertainment was terrible. The activities boring. If you have 5 sea data you need ...
This cruise started out badly. We had to stand outside in the wind and heavy rain to check our bags, then were ushered into a cold tent where we had to wait 3 1/2 HOURS to board! Princess did not take any responsibility for their problems and did nothing to compensate us for the terrible experience. Don't think we will use Princess again.
We chose this cruise because we wanted the sea days ...
This was a round trip cruise to Hawaii. Great itinerary.
PROS We have done 44 cruises and this was the first time I could understand the captain, he was excellent in his reports and explanations. The whole crew was very friendly and helpful. A great attitude by all of them.Probably the best service we ever had. The public areas are well maintained, traditional, and comfortable. Entertainment ...
This was an amazing trip. We enjoyed our time on the cruise start to finish. From the Captain to the pizza chef, we felt everyone was working to meet our expectations. Our cabin was laid out well and we had a super Stewart called Antonio. The meals were good and the service excellent. We had pizza a few times and it was very tastee. There was a varied schedule of events that were always well ...
