Thought I would read throw some reviews as I've not been on here for a while and blimey, people are fairly getting stuck in to poor old Victoria.
Yes we were held up in dry dock but for goodness sake,we were all fed and watered, what people have to understand is....these things happen, yes,it was disappointing missing Lisbon but would these people rather the cruise was cancelled last minute? I for ...
** We chose this cruise because we wanted to spend Christmas and New Year on a cruise and we particularly wanted to see the New Year fireworks in Madeira as well as liking the varied itinerary..
** It was trouble free embarkation - very well organised.
** My partner wanted to be on Cunard as he has always appreciated Cunard's style. There were some very good moments and some that were a bit ...
Liked the itinerary - which unfortunately was changed - once we had boarded. Apparently Cunard were well aware that the ship had a cracked propeller -so our 15 night cruise was changed to include a three day stay in Cadiz - in a dry dock. As the ship was off next on a lengthy ‘ round the world ‘ trip - why not fit the repair in to that cruise ? We were told by the Captain that it was a rare ...
WE chose this cruise , as being frequent cruisers on other lines we had heard of Cunard 5 star reputation?
It was to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and a 70th Birthday so very special.
We found the ship despite the Christmas decorations tired and cold particularly in the dining and public areas,
The food was good, but limited and repetitive in main dining and the buffet ...
Did the Xmas cruise after a break of 3 years due to covid. Glad that all the important features and standards have been maintained. Yes there were changes but were all beyond Cunard control. International legislation regarding the environment and Covid regulations meant that, just like life in the uk, things had to change. Life or cruising will never be the same again. The food, staff ,service and ...
We have cruised with Cunard several times mostly recently last summer on Queen Elizabeth.
We were excited to try Queen Victoria and to experience our first pre-Christmas cruise.
We had several emails from Cunard on the weeks leading up to the cruise, most of which were reminding us of the health and safety protocols. We were also reminded of the need to bring proof of our COVId vaccination ...
A disaster from start to finish. At Southampton, despite all the promises that proof of vaccinations will be checked, nobody was asked for this upon checking in. We were then herded into very long seating rows, crammed like sardines. The itinerary had changed, we were not informed, ever. Our cabin, 7167 - starboard aft - (we always choose this area) shook so violently that the bed and pillows ...
This was our 15th cruise and and first on Cunard. I would rate it 10th or 11th. Seeyoujimmy's review further down echoes our experience. Ship is lovely but very noisy in the back of the restaurant, no conversation possible on Deck 2. It also "wags it's tail" in bad weather. Many folks missed the first gala night. Turned out the propeller was broken, we stopped for 2 nights in Cadiz to change it ...
Cruise and the service provided I would rate just about good enough, though there is absolutely no margin.
Brittania Club worth the extra money. Great setting, relaxed and not rushed. Plenty of choice.
Entertainment was adequate. Repeated mediocre singer and decayed comedian again budget affected. Singing group were very good. Plenty of room in well-appointed auditorium.
Ample room on ...
Despite paying the Cunard Fare and having second sitting dining confirmed, we were forced into open dining. Maitre’d was unable to assist and seemed very stressed. Overheard many comments of a similar nature.
There are not enough staff on board to provide proper service. The staff who are on board are run off their feet and look miserable.
Waits of 30 minutes in the Commodore Club. Queues ...
