This was our first time embarking out of Miami ( cruised March 8-15) and we arrived a day earlier so as not to miss the cruise in case of bad weather affecting our flight from Toronto,Canada to Fort Lauderdale. We stayed at the Yve hotel in Miami overnight, visited the Bayside Market and had a great meal at Bubba Gumps which was also a first for us. It was easy to get to the pier with shuttle ...
We are first timer's at cruising, not to traveling ,so we were not sure what to expect . Would we be bored? the answer is NO, would we feel confined? again the answer was NO. What would the food be like? again as good as to be expected for some things and impressive in others .We have been pampered in a way we didn't know could happen, From the wait staff in the main dinning room knowing your name ...
This was our first Carnival Caribbean cruise, not one we planned but were asked by relatives to join, which we gladly did. I would not choose this itinerary again. Grand Turks and Nassau were not pleasant at all until we gave up on the excursion and returned to the port, in Grand Turk, and then enjoyed the day in the shops and at Margarataville.
The ship was fine, not fancy at all, we had good ...
First off, we found it to be a big waste of money buying Faster to the Fun. Upon arrival to the port (before 11:am) we found one initial check in line that was designated for the FTTF people, so we got to show our Passports to a Customs Agent quicker than the huge line of people. Next stop was the X-ray machine then off to get our Sail & Sign cards, there was no FTTF line for this instead we were ...
We just returned from our 4th cruise with Carnival and our 7th cruise overall. We sailed on the Splendor. We chose Carnival because we were bringing our family with us consisting of 4 20-somethings so we wanted the "party" atmosphere. They had a blast, mostly because of the people they met. Unfortunately, we observed a SEVERE decline in service on both this and our last Carnival cruise. Guest ...
We are done with Carnival. Nothing new with this cruise line. We did the faster to the fun and that is always well worth the $50. As far as the ship, there was very little entertainment on the Splendor. What was there was the same as on other Carnival ships as far back as 5 years ago. On sea days or nights, unless you had kids, there was very little to do except go to the casino. There was never a ...
Went with family for a winter break. Have been on 9 other cruises (this is the 3rd one with Carnival).. Best way to sum it up is - fine with some low points.
First the high points. Embarkation. We had a suite so we got priority boarding so was very smooth, Steakhouse. Fantastic. To all of you who do not understand why it is not included in the price just have to experience this once and you will ...
First (and probably last) Carnival cruise. Food-often arrived lukewarm at dinner, sitdown breakfast omlet was equal to a budget hotel freebee, bagel overtoasted, buffet lines were long but food was better. Alternate dining at grill was excellent as was the deli. Refused to pay more for the steak restaurant although many said it was a five star meal. Service was below average. Slow service, waiters ...
We're in our late 50s. Have cruised many times and have avoided Carnival due to the 'party boat' reputation. Chose it for the first of a B2B as we were treating two of our kids (19 and 21) to their first cruise vacation. Thankfully, we had the 2nd part of the B2B on Celebrity.
We had a fabulous cabin (#8448) - although somewhat noisy due to being under the pool area, the balcony was huge (wrap ...
No cruise could've been better than the week we had on this carnival cruise. from the moment we stepped on the ship with our faster to the fun pass to the following Sunday when we Left the ship things could not have been better.
I know was as you read the reviews there are pros and cons,( some will find anything to complaine about ) as you read these reviews you scratch your head and say were ...
