Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Freedom

My husband and I cruised on the Carnival Freedom and it was the worst cruise we have ever had. We are not new to cruising, we have been on 19 and 8 were on Carnival. First, we could not believe the amount of children on the ship. You could not get into the jacuzzi because it was a play pen for the kids. .Parents brought the infants in with diapers on. The crew tried to get the kids under control ...

Not sure how people can write a 1 star review any have any credibility; having been on ten cruises with 4 different cruise lines, I can honestly write a solid review for this ship starting with 1 - Embarkation was super easy and friendly 2 - The cabin is spacious, very quiet, nicely appointed and the balcony was a definite plus. 3 - ALL the staff were friendly and professional, cabin stewards, ...

Bad Service, Terrible Food, but Great Stops!

Let me start by setting the stage: My husband and I are in our late twenties, from Boston and have been on almost every cruise line: Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America and now Carnival. Last week's Carnival Freedom cruise was, by far, the worst cruise either of us have every been on. When cruising, you expect to receive 5-star treatment for a fraction of the cost. The only ...

Overall- a good time with family and friends on the Freedom. We were a group of 21. Embarkation was quick we were asked to not show up until 2pm but showed up around 11:30am. I had three ,carnival gift cards, presented them at check-in they weren't sure how to enter them so it slowed down the process slightly. Overall not much of a wait. The ship is nice, there are 2 dining rooms one for your ...

This was our first cruise and we took our 5 girls, ages 13, 11, 10, 9 and 8 .. And had an absolute blast .. Stayed at the CAMBRIA SUITES in Dania Beach the night before (Feb.7th) .. It was great .. No complaints ... $5 pp shuttle to port .. I believe every hour .. SUBWAY and some Cuban Restaurant are within a 10 min. walk .. Oakwood Plaza is further and has more options .. $20 taxi R/T ...

Here is my overview of our recent trip on the Carnival Freedom – 6 Night Western Caribbean. We are a pretty laid-back couple (late 30’s) and this was our first cruise together (I sailed on RCL in 2005). Ft. Lauderdale – we stayed the night prior to our cruise at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Blvd. A great street with lots of bars & restaurants. We took a trolley ($2/person) to Ft. L. Beach. We ...

My wife and parents went on this cruise. We left Fort Lauderdale with ease. The embarkation was really smooth, left the hotel around 11:30 got to port after dropping others off at different ships around 12 ish. Went right in with not a long wait to check boarding pass. The longest line was security check. After getting searched we made it to the check-in desk and walked right onto the ...

This was our third and final Carnival Cruise. The first two cruises were on Carnival Paradise and we had a decent time. Not so on Carnival Freedom. Some of the problems seemed to be specific to this ship, soe were just that the line feels like it is in a service standard tailspin. Let me try to paint the picture. 1) The Lido deck layout – Not sure who decided to put a jumbotron on the lido deck ...

Just got back from a family (3 cabins) cruise to Key West, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. We stayed at the Best Western Oakland Park Inn. It was okay, but the shuttle from the airport was $5/person and the shuttle to Port Everglades was $10/person (call and make your shuttle reservations a couple of days before or you may have to go to the port later than you want). We arrived at the hotel at 9:30 ...

We usually like the early sitting for Dinner then we go to the show, what show there was no entertainment for the first two nights which left you with a choice of the Bars or karaoke where the host could barely operate the machine, or a senseless game show with an uninterested host and awful competitors. Cruise director was the worst I have ever witnessed he was more interested in himself than ...
