My husband and I and our two daughters, ages 7 and 11, enjoyed our spring break cruise. This was our first time on a ship as large as Oasis. We've sailed Disney before, and my husband and I have done two previous Royal Caribbean cruises before, although on much smaller ships. Cabin: Our cabin was 9610, a balcony room with a pull-out couch. The room was fine, other than we all had a very difficult time trying to sleep because we couldn't get the room as cool as we would like at night. We also found the mattresses to be quite hard and uncomfortable. I wish we had a room with the pull-out bed from the wall. Our cabin steward gave us towel animals 5 out of 7 nights, so my girls enjoyed that. Ship: There's so much to do on the ship. My oldest daughter enjoyed the zipline. Both girls did the rock climbing wall, and loved all the pools. We all enjoyed the big hot tubs that go out over the side of the ship. Oldest daughter and I did a sushi making class, which was fun, although they kind of rushed us through it and it was a little hard to keep up at times. Youngest daughter's biggest disappointment was not getting to ice skate. They only opened the ice skating rink on the second sea day. Went down there to sign up for a session (you have to sign up 15 minutes in advance for a 30-minute session) but all the sessions were booked up for the day by the time we got down there. It was one of the biggest things she had been looking forward to, and I wish they had indicated that we needed to sign up as soon as they opened. I also don't understand why it was only offered one day the entire 7 days we were there. Shows: We saw Oasis of Dreams, Come Fly With Me, a comedy show, the comedy diving show, and Frozen in Time. Oasis of Dreams and Frozen in Time were our favorites. They do a really great job. Kids club: The first sea day we tried to take youngest daughter to kids club, but it was full! I didn't even know that was a possibility. The rest of the cruise we were able to get her in and she enjoyed herself and would ask us if we could take her there. Oldest daughter is 11, and turns 12 in two months. She is just at that awkward age where she wasn't quite old enough for the teen club, and I didn't feel totally comfortable letting her do it because they keep the 12-17-year olds together. I just don't think a 12-year-old girl needs to be hanging out with high school boys. Sooo Kids Club was a mixed bag for her. She was bored a lot, but when there were other 11-year-olds there she enjoyed hanging out with them, although she didn't really find the activities that interesting. Also, kids club staff do NOT get paid enough. It was always very loud, jam packed and kids in general were acting like total brats whenever I was down there. I felt sorry for the staff. My oldest daughter wrote them a very nice thank-you note on her last day as she also noticed how incredibly bratty some of the behaved. Dining: We did the 3-night specialty restaurant package. We ate at Chops, Giovannis, and Sabor. Giovannis was one of my favorites, but hubby liked Chops best. Sabor was a nice change of pace, but probably not the best use of our dining package. It's really more of a lunch place, and not worth a $20 per person cover charge ($10 per kid). The rest of the days we ate dinner in the dining room with My Time dining. We had reservations for 6 p.m. and would arrive about 30 minutes early each night and they were always able to seat us immediately, and with the same waiter each time. The food was pretty good. On lobster night, service was painfully slow, but the lobsters were quite tasty (I wasn't expecting a lot there, so I was pleasantly surprised). The only disappointment were the desserts. They were meh. We enjoyed the variety in the Windjammer for breakfast in the mornings. We had room service one day and it was ok. Some items we ordered didn't make it. Ports - St. Martin - this was our favorite stop. We booked a tour with Billy Bones Speedboats and it was a great way to spend the day seeing the island. There is still so much damage. San Juan - we did the Vivo Beach Club excursion. There wasn't a lot of options that were interesting to us in San Juan, especially since we were only there until 1:30. I feel like we paid way too much for the Vivo Beach Club excursion given that we didn't' get there until 10 a.m. and had to leave at 1. Labadee - Unfortunately, it was raining when we arrived in Labadee and stayed cloudy and cool the whole time we were there. We reserved a beach bungalow, which was very nice, and the kids still played in the water even though it was cloudy and cool. I would love to try it again when it was sunny and warm, because it was a really nice place. Overall, we enjoyed our cruise and would do it again! The only hiccup was that on day 7, the day we got off the ship, youngest daughter woke up not feeling well. We made it through a long day of travel home and took her to urgent care, where she was diagnosed with Influenza A. The next day, I was diagnosed with it as well. I feel like we practically bathed ourselves in hand sanitizer on the ship, but, alas. Read Less

We choose OAS because this has always been a great ship to cruise on. Unfortunately all the great staff has been removed and sent to either Harmony or Symphony. The new menus are in effect with French onion soup added to the appetizers and now you order dessert at the same time as everything else. We did not see any improvement in speed of delivery of food by doing this. The bread is now on the table when you get there without savory bites. Chilled soups are not on the menu but if you ask you can get them. The main entrees seem to have been changed and not as good as before. The CATS production had more people leaving early than any show I’ve ever seen on board. The CD was almost invisible. The Beatle Maniacs have to be the best headliners we’ve seen in years. The pool attendant at Beach Pool was outstanding. Beatrice the Diamond Concierge is very accommodating. We dined on deck 5 and enjoyed the great service of the assistant waiter, Julie Sedillo who was on the first month of her first contract and should be promoted to head waiter if she continues delivering the service she gave us. Boarding went quickly. We are Gold level on RCL so no extra perks for us. Booked an inside cabin #10445 - quiet, clean room - with easy access to elevators. The shows were good - booked them all in advance. Dining in the main dining room was okay- they don't have a lot of options for vegetarians- but I did have some amazing salads. The wait staff in the main dining room are very very customer service orientated- they want you to be happy. Activities were ok- they could do so much with that kids club area that they have- it is under utilized. Towel folding was funny- they just show you - they don't give out towels so you can try it out along side of them - waste of time. Dream Works parade is amazing! Attended the sushi making class ($28) - went to the main desk and asked if my husband could come along as my eater (bc I thought they would be using raw fish & I def don't eat raw fish) they called the restaurant and it was no problem-- so I signed up. What a FUN way to spend the morning on a sea day!!! The instruction was excellent and I learned some things. We made 3 huge rolls--(no raw fish)-- we made crab, shrimp and avocado rolls- yummy. Went to the future cruise office-- they were not that friendly and it was hard to see what was available- didn't book a future cruise with them. If you wanted to book your next trip on board for the perks - would suggest you know exactly when and where you want to go. The cost of popcorn is $2.50, I forget the cost of cotton candy- but there is a fee. The buffet at some busy dining times did have a line to get in - the servers will seat you when a table opens up. They have an announcement kindly asking you not to linger in the dining area because people are waiting. Central Park had nice places to sit and read - also the Cafe in Central Park was good for lunch. We didn't feel like there were thousands of people on board. There were never crazy lines that took forever- wait oops -yes there were -on the Boardwalk they had a carnival day for the kids- free cake, free candy apples etc... the line to get a candy apple was outrageous and idk why it moved so slow- and no sadly I didn't get a candy apple bc I wasn't waiting in the snaking line. The Boardwalk was packed full of people and the games were not organised- just tossed out a few jump ropes and other outdoor games. That was the only time I experienced a mob of people during the week. Read Less

Super Service, Food better than last cruise. Labadee & Falmouth are both getting a bit "old"in terms of destinations. Cozumel was nice. Highly recommend Chaakenaab Park in Cozumel. Ship is in pretty good shape except for carpeting and drapes - need replacing (planned for drydock in October). Service seemed noticeably better - with everyone we engaged being friendly and looking to go the extra mile for help and smiling services. Food was also improved, especially in the main dining room. First time porting in Port Canaveral. We have to say that the speed and efficiency at that location was as good as any place we've embarked before. The Cortrans shuttle back to the Orlando airport was on time and well done. All in all, Royal Caribbean did their part well, and our 2nd time on Oasis was at least as good (if not slightly better) than the first. All of us had a nice time, and the Spring Break crowd was hardly noticeable. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the class of ship. With 3 young children with us it's nice to have the boardwalk and carousel and the other activities when walking around with them. We also enjoy Central Park. We ate dinner 4 nights in the specialty restaurants which we had not done before, other than Chops. Our curiosity is satisfied and other than Chops we probably wouldn't do that again. The quality of the food and service was very good but just not something that we really care about. We found the service in the dining room to be excellent which is something we couldn't say about the last few cruises. We had My Time Dining and did only eat in the DR 3 nights. We really weren't very impressed with the new menu and the bread being on the table which was lacking some of our favorites. My husband and son-in-law love the chilled soups and we didn't see any on the menu. We are Diamond Plus members and were not impressed by the Diamond Lounge. The service in there was really lacking and we had to find servers to order drinks on several occasions. We are very laid back and not in the least demanding so that was pretty bad. Definite pros and cons to such a big ship, we found Labadee really crowded which we really hadn't noticed before. That said...there were a lot of areas on the ship that we were able to find that were not crowded at all. The public areas are very nice and well kept. We really enjoyed the cruise and will go again in October, on the Allure. Read Less

We picked this cruise because of the ports of call and the size of the ship. Going bigger was the right choice. I never felt crowed or overwhelmed. The longest we waited in line was 5 mins at the soda machine. St. Maarten needs a lot of work. We took a private tour through Viator. Highly recommend. 5 hours with a local who took us on both sides of the island and to see the damage and the beauty of the beaches. Make sure to book your show reservations before you get on the ship. Book Oasis of Dreams on the first night. Most shows cancel because of wind. Don't waste your time on Cats! Most people walked out. For shows not seeing reservations, go early to get in line. Formal night is fun. A nice dress for the ladies and shirt and tie is good for the men. No need for a jacket. There are 2 formal nights. Don't stress about getting on and off the ship. Wow!!!!! So smooth and easy if you are patient. Relax and have fun. Read Less

Purchased this cruise for several reasons. Thought it would be perfect for "family" and was. The ship itself is in need of refurbishing. Our "balcony" cabin was very good overall but not as roomy (to us) as the same ones on Freedom class. They had comforters stuffed under the bed which made it almost impossible to place luggage under there. The lighting is in need of updating to LED as cabin lights were very dim. With it being the size ship it is, I would have thought there would have been at least more outlets. IE: A simple plug in within the bedlamps so you could charge phones by bed and use one on vanity for blow dryer, curling rods, etc.. The MDR was wonderful. The selection of food was good, service impeccable and just all around great for families. The family enjoyed the ports, beaches, and shops. They found the excursions a bit pricey so they booked their own once on land and it was wonderful. We only attended the comedy (adult) show and it was good and thankful not near as crude as expected. The grandchildren, ages 4 and 7 really enjoyed the Adventure Ocean area. Once they discovered it, they always wanted to go. The swimming pool is in serious need of "revamping" in our opinion. Chair hogs as we figured we would see, big children (over 12) in the kiddie pool and running wild, and people leaving their cups, plates, food, all over the place. I understand there are no "bins" to put your dirty dishes in at the pool area but to leave on ground for someone to kick around or stumble over is ridiculous! And to finish, the WILD ones! I have never encountered so many RUDE, OBNOXIOUS pre-teens and teens in all my life I understand it was spring break and they were on vacation as well but to block stairways, running and bumping into other guests and to throw dishes off the balconies like a frisbee is improper parenting! Oasis is an amazing ship and this is the 2nd time we’ve been on it. This time seemed a little more crowded but still managed to feel like there were places to relax and escape the crowds. Embarkation was a breeze, usually we arrive early and are one of the first on but this day we were running a little behind from our air BNB in Orlando, so boarding had started. Even with the crowds it was a seemingly short process with lots of happy caring people along the way. We had some bad service in the dinning room the first night but the staff was amazing and fixed it very quickly and every other night was delicious, quick and friendly. We also loved the specialty restaurants Giovanni’s and Sabor. Giovanni’s was so much delicious italian food with amazing service. Our lunch at Sabor was amazing as well with some delicious specialty margaritas. (Maybe a little too many :P) The casino, as on every ship I’ve been, is a place i’d Like to go but can’t deal with due to the excessive smoke smell. This time seemed worse than others and the smell was moving out through other areas of the deck. We had a wonderful stateroom attendant, Andy and were treated to amazing towel animals. On the first night of the cruise we were going to see Cats the musical but it was canceled due to technical issues with the music. The situation was delt with well and a substitute was found for an impromptu performance by the pub singer Tommy Green Jr. It ended up being one of my favourite shows on the cruise. Definitely check him out if he’s still there. We also finally got to see cats on the last night and it was well worth the wait. I’m not a huge fan of the musical but the performances were beyond expectations so it did not matter and I was entirely entertained. I find with every cruise the photos are getting more expensive and worse quality, this time we had blurry photos, discoloured, or strangely lit photos. I also dislike that there is no way to change photo size or take off boarders. Another thing I was disappointed in was how hard it was to find entertainment that was lgbtq inclusive. Some of the worst parts being the love and marriage game show, the quest and the comedy shows. Now a joke at the expense of anyone is fun but I find that lgbtq people are always the butt of the joke which makes my fiancé and I uncomfortable with being a couple on the ship. I do not by any means think the company RCCL is homophobic or against the lgbtq community but it would be nice to be included here and there. Now don’t get my review wrong, the ship was amazing, the service too. Across the board crew members go above and beyond on RCCL and the experience was amazing. Read Less

I chose this cruise because eight other couples were going on this particular ship. At many times the crowds on board were overwhelming. The service and shows were top notch, but a lot of the time we felt like we were living in a high class shopping mall. There is too much emphasis on pushing the merchandise. If I wanted to shop, I could go to any neighborhood mall at home. Labadee was the most beautiful port, but it isn't able to handle the 6800 passengers. We couldn't get a beach chair within sight of the beach. The lines for lunch stretched around the buildings. The local artisan merchants were too pushy and refused to take no for an answer. St Maarten was beautiful, and is still trying to recover from the hurricane. The Golden Eagle sail away excursion was fun, but the snorkeling was poor; cloudy water, and crowded. The food and culture in San Juan was great. Excellent tour guide with lots of knowledge and energy, small group and great food. Royal Caribbean charges 18.5% gratuity for the shore excursions, but I really doubt that the actual staff sees much of that. The Golden Eagle crew was asking for tips at the end of the excursion. There were 5 staff and about forty passengers with automatic tipping amounting to about $800+ for four hours work. With a charge of $90 per guest, surely the staff isn't relying solely on tips. Overall, Oasis of the Seas is very impressive, but too large. Read Less

Destinations matched our plan and was available at a reasonable price. OverLl the service was good and staff was friendly. The ship was very good and was big enough that you hardly noticed that you were on a ship of you were not looking. There was a lot to do and see even without getting off of the ship. Alcohol was over-priced. Good exercise options. Excursion experiences were overpriced and we also did not feel like they were trying to give us much information about what was available to do other than the excursions they were selling, which were very much over-priced. Even on the Labadie stop, no map or list of activities was provided. There was also not much mention of how to conduct ourselves safely. Information related to what to do in emergency was limited and we are skeptical that the rescue boats are really big enough to safely allow for all passengers to fit. Read Less

Night before disembarkation, hubby lost his phone. Lost and found did not have before we had to leave the ship. After some research learned they do have a method to report lost items after disembarkation. Completed a form with phone data as instructed and several days later was informed the phone had been found, but was cruising the ocean for several more days. After paying for shipping, the phone was ups'd. to me the day after the ship returned to port where the phone ended its sail and began a road trip to my house. The reunion was a happy one. Our Park view balcony was enjoyable. We always book as near a rear or mid ship elevator as possible. We don't want, at age 84 to walk too far, just to reach an elevator. Usually, the back of the ship is more convenient for dining and other activities we enjoy. The park view area is usually quiet and keeping the curtains closed during private moments was not a problem. One disappointment is that Cats is still the main show during the cruise. Several people we met were like us and had seen it on the ship months earlier. The production was not as good as it should have been. The variety of entertainment was lacking. For a first timer, it might suffice, but if you have cruised at lot you have seen much better with more variety. We were also disappointed in the Diamond concierge, more like a desk sitting greater. She did not mingle, did nothing but sit at her desk and smile hello and goodby. In the morning she did not even do that. Our steward was excellent, best ever! Read Less

We love to travel and have always wanted to take a cruise so when we won this one we couldn't wait. If you want to do anything special for an excursion or a ship board show make sure you sign up in advance. We missed out o a lot of exciting trips because we didn't know any better. That was our fault for not taking the time to check into it like we were told to.I We couldn't believe how much there was to do on the ship. It was amazing! Unless we were actually looking outside a window it felt like we were either in a Casino hotel or a shopping mall. The main thing we wanted to express was how incredible their crews service was. Although they were all very polite and helpful when they could be there were three that really stood out. There is a fancy dining hall that you can attend for supper every evening (unfortunately we didn't realize it until the last two nights, again: our fault) Our waiter Crispin Ibay and his assistant Iwayan Budiana were so polite and attentive that we felt like Donald Trump (before he was elected. We don't have any secret service guys protecting us) They even put the napkin in your lap. We have eaten in some very nice restaurants but have never had anyone serve us like we were their only customers without them becoming annoying until these two. And last but DEFINITELY not least is Srinivas Ravula. He was our assigned house keeping guy. He was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We had a different animal made out of towels left for us everyday! It was a VERY nice touch. We've never had anyone keep our room so clean. He even organized al the mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body gel each in a row in the shower caddy. UNBELIEVABLE! lol. If we could rate them on a scale of 1-010 we would give them all 20's! We won another cruise in the casino so if we end up back on the Oasis we will be hoping for these guys again. Oasis of the Sea is a very large ship. It gives you many opportunities to choose activities, food venues, and pools. We were on board with maximum capacity of 6500 passengers. Very first time I've experienced such a large number of passengers. We would prefer to travel when they're not booked to capacity. Even with this large number of people embarking and disembarking was very smooth. Food and bar Service was extremely good and fast. We were extremely excited and happy to see how large are room was. It was an outside open balcony cabin. The privacy of the cabin and balcony made us feel like we're alone on the high seas. We enjoyed Park Place with all of its green vegetation and European atmosphere. If you wished to pay an additional premium for dinner there were many specialty dining restaurants . This was mother/daughter trip to try the BIG ship. I'm 83 but got around the ship pretty well. I did miss being able to take part in the fun outdoor activities. Embarkation was fast enough considering the large number of passengers. Debarkation was worse. Be prepared for long lines. Our cabin was typical of other cruises. See notes below. Great entertainment. Especially Cats and the Comedy Club. Joe Yannetty had me "in stitches". We didn't miss any of the featured shows and enjoyed them all. We did miss having a variety of entertainment in the main showroom. Be sure not to miss the Splish Splash Comedy water show. No reservations required. Some afternoons the Aqua performers rehearsed and that was also interesting to watch. Be sure to make all your show reservations on-line before the cruise. The specialty restaurants Giovannis and Chops were excellent. My Time Dining in the American Grill only twice as there were other venues that we wanted to try. My Time dining can be a little chaotic. And very noisy. Dining room is much better for lunch or breakfast. There is an excellent lunch buffet. We avoided the Windjammer. The ship did not appear "run down" as I've read in other posts. Over-all the noise level was way too high for me. Especially the canned music. The Champagne Bar and Vintages were two places that we found for a quiet before dinner drink. And Schooner Bar was OK at other times. Central Park was very pleasant in the evening. Sometimes quiet live music also. Most of the music that we might have enjoyed was scheduled during dining hours.that was disappointing. The ship did not offer the drink punch card during this cruise. ) : Over all I enjoyed the experience of the Oasis and highly recommend it. But in the future I would choose a smaller ship. Thanks to my daughter for making this trip a wonderful vacation. LABADEE Beautiful beaches. Plenty of loungers on a do-it-yourself basis. Some shade available. BBQ ribs and jerk chicken very tasty. No line if you get there early. Free tram around the area. FALMOUTH Just got off and looked around .Many diamond and watch stores. Plus usual souvenir shops. Margaritaville was very busy. Lots of cruisers enjoying their food and pool. COZUMEL Took a taxi to Paradise Beach. Nice resort. $3 charge. Plenty of lounges with umbrellas. You're obligated to buy food and drinks. Reasonably priced. Margaritas and nachos were great. Very nice pool is also available. For a fee, there were boat rides, parasailing, jet skis, etc. Plenty of taxis waiting to go back to the ship. About a 20 minute ride. Great day. Read Less

We have cruised many times, basic to luxury. However we have never taken a cruise on a mega ship. Being in executive management for resorts and hotel for many years, we probably have a better understanding of what it takes to run something of this scale. We were impressed overall. We chose to come when there would not be too many children onboard as this was a romantic cruise for us. Pros: Central Park, beautiful and romantic, never crowded. Rock climbing, loved Specialty dining, service great, food good, worth the price. Solarian, love they have a adults only area Staff were great, worked hard, always cleaning. Cruise director was great and very informative Safety was stressed and you can tell they take extra precautions in making sure folks are washing their hands and sanitizers everywhere. Even though there was 6400 folks onboard, it really never felt crowded. And we always found a pool chaise. Cons: We chose to not eat in main dining room as even though we had My Time dining there was always a line and wait to get in. Prefer assigned tables. We skipped our last two nights we had reserved for this reason. Solarium, one of the main reasons we chose this cruise, to escape the kiddos and noise. However it was always crowded, and the age needs to be changed to higher age. It starts at 16, not adults. Although this area I s great if raining, being covered, it is too hot to enjoy when warm out. It can get loud too. We think the slots are rigged. We were hitting at the first of the cruise on muiltiple machines, but by the last two days nothing. Several other passengers agreed with this assessment as well. Did not appreciate the fire drill when in the spa. If they are going to do a fire drill, they need to close the spa for that day. Not relaxing at all. Some folks were in getting massages. Also, they do not offer the basic sauna, steam rooms for guest unless you pay. We were coerced into buying a package for use, and while reluctant to buy it, as I didn’t know if I would get my money’s worth, I did as love these items. However I found out on day four you could get a day pass. I was never informed of this option. When I went to spa to inquire and get a refund, I was told it was $50 dollars a day, and they only had so many day passes. When I mentioned if I needed to go to guest services to rectify as I was misled, they assured me someone would take care of it. The next day no word from them. So I went to guest services, they got the manager on the phone. Turns out it’s only $30 dollars a day. She did Credit it back and I only got charged for the one day. Also, they charge a 18% gratuity for this. Why? There is no service being provided? You get your locker and robe, that’s it. Rip off. While we understand there is always constant maintenance ongoing, I think they should dry dock to do this except for minor repairs. Customers should not be inconvenienced when paying for a trip such as this, regardless. Rock climbing, zip lining, etc. these are not open enough. When we chose to not do ports, as we thought this would be a perfect time to do these items as most folks would be off ship and no lines. They would be closed. Not fair being one of the major reasons we booked this ship. They need to limit kiddie strollers, even though not many on this cruise as off season. I bet in summer it’s packed with strollers. They would take up most of elevators. They need to have special elevators for strollers etc. not sure how they could do this but where there is a will there is a way. Comedy venue needs to be larger, very small, books up and almost impossible to get in. Deck chairs are in need of replacement, very worn. Ports were unimpressive, however we did not choose cruise for ports but rather by date. So we knew this going in. Overall, the staff are very hardworking, and try to please. We would do it again. Our stateroom attendant provided the "invisible service" we appreciate: place the "Make UP Room" sign on the door when leaving for meals and the room is clean when we return. The internet package for the entire cruise is also a nice feature and comes free with a Grand Suite. Coastal Kitchen and Suite Lounge: We were interested in experiencing the additional benefits of Grand Suites and above (Sky Class) by having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Coastal Kitchen and drinks in the Suite Lounge next door. Service is superb and quality of the food excels many of the specialty restaurants. The filet of beef, served on the first night of the cruise, is superb!! Select beer, wine and champagne is available from 11:30 am until 11:00 pm. Mixed drinks are available from 4:30pm until 8:00pm each night. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Coastal Kitchen is even open for breakfast on debarkation morning. Reservations are required for dinner, so I recommend making your reservations early when you come on board before the most popular times are taken. Entertainment: We made reservation for the spectacular entertainment well before boarding the ship. Oasis can’t have 6,500 passengers attending the same show at the same time. We reserved Frozen in Time, Oasis of Dreams, the Headliner Showtime, and Come Fly with Me. Sky Class guests get reserved seating at each theater. Shore Excursions: Our only shore excursion was on Labadee’s Barefoot Beach for Sky Class guests and cabana rentals. We received an upscale lunch and a terrific day at a tropical beach. An additional Grand Suite perk was that a separate golf cart type transportation was available (which is nice if the weather is hot or guests have trouble walking). The pick-up spot is just past the information booth and there is an attendant with a walkie-talkie to call the driver. This is not the same service as the other regular guest pick-up carts (which don’t stop at Barefoot Beach). Debarkation: The Concierge service escorted Sky Suites and above off the ship with no queuing. It just took our family 10-minutes from the time we left the Champagne Bar, departed the ship, picked-up our luggage, completed the Customs check and exited Cruise Terminal 1 to our car. WOW! From good experience on sistership Allure. Oasis was disappointing. I give this ship a 7 out of 10 overall. Room needed update and a deep clean, sofa was worn and dirty, drawers needed repair. Deck and wet areas were Slipery! I seen many guests slip and fall. I could NOT eat quacamole and chips at Sabor Bar! Told me to take out into the rain and sit at dirty wet table, that by the way was also Slipery. All other service was attentive and good. Not sure I will do again as ship was too big with too many passengers. RC staff was pleasant and did try. This survey wants 150 words soo....on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 the best exceeding my expectation I will give this cruise ship the Oasis a 7 overall. Another issue for us was this Ship vibrates too much and was bothersome motion. Read Less

I wanted a cruise to celebrate my retirement for 2018. We booked the cruise early to get a nice room. Once we booked, we anticipated a very good time. Upon arrival, the lines were long to get into the check-in area. Once we got to our room, we unpacked and got started on the activities. The room itself was good however, there was a strong urine/sewer gas smell in the bathroom. Our attendant poured bleach in the drains but the smell returned. Other than the one issue, the room was satisfactory. The ship has four pools and one adult pool. One pool was for children and had activities for the children. We had the beverage package but the strawberry daquiri and margarita did not taste good, so I drank wine during the trip. We did not get off the boat for St. Marteen or San Juan (rain) but did enjoy the Haiti trip. Otherwise, the ship does have a lot to offer. Read Less

We decided on a cruise for vacation due to the all inclusive aspect. It was my wife, my 2 year old son and myself in a cabin. We have a balcony cabin and it was fine. He loved it. We spent a lot of time at the pools and splash pads. We did have him in childcare several nights and he had a great time. If your child is not potty trained do not take them on a cruise due to pool regulations. The food was good but a bit repetitive. The central Park Cafe was amazing and where everyday started. The shows were great especially the ice skating shows, make reservations before you get on ship for good seats. We had a great time and would like to go again. BUY the drink package and enjoy it with out worry. The upgraded coffee and bottled waters were great and worth it. Read Less

This was a great vacation. I have to admit that the fact that we chose to cruise on a suite made a big difference. This is a HUGE ship with a HUGE crowd. We were able to get around the crowd all the times (eating at Coastal Kitchen and using some of the perks we paid for). I can understand why some people don't like the Oasis. The crowds can get crazy at prime time (dinner, embarkation, debarkation, show time, etc). So this was a first for me since we have always cruised in medium to small ships. The Coastal Kitchen food was great and the service was great as well. My children( 4 and 11) wanted to be in Adventure Ocean all the time. They had a blast! We also enjoyed our alone time by the pool and the suite sun deck. If you are thinking about cruising the Oasis, go for it! Its a beautiful ship. Read Less

Traveled with a large group (40) getting on and off ship went quickly and efficiently. Entertainment was awesome! Dining room staff very informative and friendly. Cabin overlooking Central Park was very clean but very noisy. Very good staff in housekeeping. Went snorkeling and kayaking on St. Maarten, great experience. Rum tour in San Juan wasn’t worth the price-walked up the hill from the dock- went to a bar where I felt the guide was not very knowledgeable about rum making. Labadee Island was beautiful and well maintained. Did a walking tour-guide took us one mile to end of beaches where we were left with little explaination of what to do had to find out way back to ship. This was a waste of money too. Adult areas in Solarium aboard ship was always too crowded, only could get a loung chair one afternoon. Deck chairs that were abandoned for hours were never cleaned off to make room for other cruisers. Overall I was satisfied with the Oasis of the Seas. Read Less

I've chosen this cruise because of the great variety of activities inside the ship and on shore. Broadway Cats show and kids pool were decisive for my choice. Embarkation was quite slow, but desembarcarkation was impressively fast -long but steadily moving line. Labadee is a piece of paradize: wonderful beach, fun activities for the whole family and good service and food, although lunch was a bit crowded. Cozumel has impressively clear sea waters - perfect for snorkeling - but we decided to make a cultural shore excursion: Maya's archeological site of Tulum - good choice if you want a shorter but comprehensive excursion (great for kids over 5 yrs). And after that, we were taken to a very relaxing time in a beautiful beach, after a simple but delicious lunch - wonderful ceviches!!! The only negative experience we had was in Jamaica. We went on a "VIP" excursion to "Bamboo beach club", but total dezorganization made the whole group wait more than 20 minutes before starting the excursion, and only because some passengers insisted it was past time to leave. No explanation was given regarding lunch time, only that there would be food available. However, there was indeed a specific time for lunch and my family missed it. And the beach is nothing but nice. Beautiful, but full of rocks and corals. And the worst: incredibly loud music - apparently trying to cover the sound of trucks coming from the road "hidden" right behind the trees by the beach. Not "VIP" at all! So please, Royal Caribbean, be honest with your guests regarding this shore excursion in Jamaica. But it did not ruin our whole cruise experience. All the rest - other excursions in other ports, first class entertainment and restaurants in the cruise, great external recreation area, all made our experience unforgettable. Yes, I recommend this cruise for family trips. Read Less

This ship is amazing. Pros - Service in dining rooms and stateroom attendant was great. - Central Park is beautiful - Water show was fantastic - Friends of ours got married onboard. The wedding service, staff, food etc were great. - Best filet mignon, could cut it with a knife at Giovanni’s. Cons - These are all minor issues and wouldn’t deter us from booking another cruise on this ship. - sliding doors on closets need softer closures. Often could hear the door slamming open or closed in nearby rooms. - The sink in our balcony stateroom was tiny. It was very hard to wash your face without getting water all over the floor. - You need to book shows in advance. Most of the shows were already full when we tried to book after boarding. - We were not made aware by RC or our travel agent that we had priority boarding. Read Less

We had a very bad shopping experience in Cozumel Mexico. It was not the fault of RC. This is just a warning to everyone to use extreme caution while shipping and DO NOT shop at the jewelry store Planteria Daniela. It is one of the first jewelry stores you'll come across on the far right side of the shopping center in the newly built area. They claim to be an RC approved store, which they are not. They lie about the quality of their jewelry. We found out the hard way. When we returned home we found the jewelry we purchased wasn't worth even half of what we paid. So be smart and stick to the REAL RC approved stores where they back up your purchase. So much for the negative. Other than a traffic backup at the parking garage and passenger drop off, boarding and leaving the ship was smooth and quick. The port of Canaveral needs to have one entrance directly to the parking garage and one for passenger drop off. What they have now is confusion. Once in the terminal, check in was quick and smooth. We were through check in and sitting down for lunch in less than 30 minutes. We found the food at the Windjammer ranged from awful/cold to good. I hate to say it but the Windjammer food has gone down hill, since our last cruise on the Oasis. On the up side the Windjammer is kept clean, the staff is great and you can find good food most of the time. We found breakfast was the worse, too much cold food. As an alternative try the solarium, Park Cafe and Wipeout cafe. With so many restaurants on the Oasis, you'll find one you like, even without paying for the upscale restaurants. We didn't dine in the main dinning room. But found lots of other places to dine without tying up our time. We like the balcony rooms overlooking the board walk. We enjoy the activity and even the noise. It's all fun, but if you have to have total silence at night, the boardwalk is not for you. Although they were more than 6000 passengers on the Oasis it never seemed crowded. There are plenty of activities and lot's of places to get away for quite time. The bands were all very good, but unfortunately for some reason most dance music didn't start until after 9 PM. It would have been nice to have at least one band playing in the early evening so those with the late dinning could enjoy some entertainment before dinner. Lots of shows on board, but remember to book your reservations prior to sailing. There were some unhappy guest that didn't book early and complained about not being able to see the shows. The crew was super, very friendly and helpful. We find that to be true on all RC ships. Our cabin was on the 10th deck overlooking the boardwalk. We had plenty of storage space and our room attendant was the best ever. Since we had been to all the ports before we decided just to walk around and do some shopping. I do recommend booking with RC if you have never toured before. You will pay a few extra dollars, but it's worth it to be safe. So if you like lots to do, children, good entertainment and lot's of places to dine, the Oasis might be a good choice. Read Less

we chose this cruise especially for the shows. we were not disappointed. They were amazing. The talent skill costumes all were excellent. We loved all of them. Yes, you have to reserve ahead. Do not miss any of them. The casts work hard. This is a wonderful experience. It's part of your cruise price so schedule all of them. Our cabin was very nice we had a superior balcony. It was clean and neat. Yes, some things are showing their age. It's a ship people! Filled to capacity. Every cruise.. The staff was wonderful. Every bar, every where you went staff worked hard. I felt bad for the bathroom attendants. What a thankless job for the most part. So important. The bathrooms in public areas were very clean. We never felt we were on a cruise with about 6000 others. Even the pools were easy to access. Dining room was pretty and very clean. We had early dining, our preference, table for two. royal caribbean is still our favorite cruise line. We enjoyed dining room food. Yes, as some reviews mentioned, it's not as wonderful as it should be. But, every meal was cooked properly not over salted thank you very much rci. We did not have one bad meal. With food this good why on earth would I spend more $ in a specialty restaurant. We traveled on a great deal with a generous on board credit so we were happy cruisers. It was our 9th cruise 7 with RCI. Embarking was a breeze we were all early soo yes it took a reasonable amt. of time. Disembarking, slow. It was a Sunday not fault of ship it was customs. 3 windows that's it for 6000 folks. And it was mothers day ugh. Get a porter! they went through real fast. We did an excursion through the ship in Falmouth. It was a beach break 10minutes away. Included drinks all you wanted and lunch. and chairs. We paid early booking price, 63$ each oh also included taxi there and back. It was worth every cent. The drinks were amazing yes, they did put booze in them not cheap. I don't usually book anything through the ship, this one we did and loved it... Read Less
