We sailed with 19 - all of our kids and grandkids. Ages of grands was 18 mos to 15. We had a fabulous room with 2 bedrooms. The kids had average small rooms that slept 4. So we had various grands in our cabin various nights which was fun!
The food and service could have been better. Windjammer was always good but service was not. There was a huge buffet on New Years Day in the American Icon ...
Our family of four--wife 49 ( I am the writer of this review), husband, 54, daughter, 15 and son, 12--returned recently from a thoroughly enjoyable New Year's cruise aboard the Oasis of the Seas, our first Royal caribbean cruise!! Because our family had such a good time, we would not hesitate to book a future cruise aboard this ship or its sister the Allure. We have cruised 7 times before since ...
As with others, we found that while the ship was gorgeous, there were far too many people in lines to be a totally and relaxing cruise. details as follows:
Dining - mediocre at best. Be prepared to stand in lines even if you have a reservation. RCL should rethink their plan for "Dynamic Dining", it has become pretty much dynamic chaos. As for the dress code: there is none.
Shows - excellent. ...
We have been on the Allure 5X and now the Oasis 3X. We love both ships and are always happy with the service and food and general atmosphere of both. In lieu of a full review, I will try to hit the highlights and lowlights as our group of 45 experienced them.
We were a total group of 45, but 16 in our "small group." We stayed at the Embassy Suites on 17th St. in Ft. Lauderdale which is our go-to ...
We didn't feel crowded at all on Oasis until the last day -- disembarkation -- which was a mess. In fact, there are so many quiet spots on the ship. We especially enjoyed listening to the classical music performance by the pianist and violinist in Central Park every evening! Hardly anybody were there.
We watched every show including the comedian. Most shows were not fully attended (apparently a ...
Travelers: me, my disabled quadriplegic husband, our 14 year old son, and my parents.
On the way to Oasis: the three of us traveled by car from Raleigh, NC because my husband’s power wheelchair is too substantial to fly. We had a brand spankin’ new handicapped converted van to drive there, a Toyota Sienna with a slide out ramp on the passenger side. We had plenty of space for luggage and everyone ...
Our 7th cruise in general, our 4th cruise with RC, first time on Oasis of the Seas, first time on a Holiday Christmas Cruise for me and multiple times Holiday Cruise for my significant other. This was a large group family with teens celebration cruise.
Hotel: we stayed at the Sheraton the night before, printed out last minute luggage tags, borrowed their stapler to staple the tags to our luggage, ...
Just got off the ship this morning and just had to put in my 2 cents because I do not understand all the negative reviews! From the time we boarded to disembarkation everything went smooth! Outstanding food in the MDR. Delicious!! Service was impeccable and you would never know you were onboard with 5 thousand other passengers. Very little waiting in line anywhere! Only negative I can offer is ...
Great ship, great itinerary, great shore excursions....
We would definitely cruise on this ship again. It was surprisingly easy to get on and off of in spite of the huge crowds.
We loved Central Park, the Boardwalk, etc.
Ate at Chops Grille, which was really nice.
Did the Dragon's Breath zip line in Haiti, which was fun.
Did the aerial canopy tour with zip-line & Jamaican bobsled in Jamaica ...
We have cruised twice previously with Princess and took the whole family on Oasis when Royal offered the kids cruise free deal. The kids loved it, there was so much to do they did not even make it to the kids club. We spent a lot of time on the carousel, in the kids pool area (and the frozen yogurt machine), and meeting the characters. While the service is much better on Princess, the food on ...
