Positives Great staff to get us on and off the boat in Canaveral. It went so smooth. Amazing ship and crew. There were a couple of crew members that really made it special for our group. Vishal, Kent, Jemelito who took care or us at the Dinning table every night. Deni was such an amazing room attendant. Carla was so helpful at guest services. Cruise Director Drew and Activities Manager Margot were great. Enjoyed the job you and the staff did with The Quest. What a blast!! My teen boys had a great time with the Teen program and other activities on the ship. The shows I made it to were great. Really enjoyed the ship tour on the last day. Labadee walking tour guide Lamy was amazing!! I wish the tour was longer with him. He really made this my favorite excursion. Negatives I did not enjoy the food in Main Dining. Taste and just not cooked well. Menu choices were lacking compared to my other cruise on the navigator. So the terrible score below on dining is due to the FOOD not the staff that served us. Room service had a really hard time making a burger without onions or cheese and even wrong the burger was not very appealing. Had to order 3 on night before it was at least made with the right options. My teenager was not thrilled. Sorrentos Pizza needs help. Wish there were more show times offered The fountain under the rising tide bar while it is nice to watch it's just too loud. Labadee - our Adrenalin excursion was cancelled - Bummer that looked fun. Also my Teenage boys did the Labadee water park and said it was too crowded and left early. I think the next cruise will be back on a smaller ship. Bigger might not be better and I wonder if that is why the main dinning food was a miss for me. Margot said she reads these. I believe her. It was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for all you do. This was a great getaway with family and friends. Chose this instead of Christmas gifts this year. Ship offers amazing venues, especially for young adults/teenagers. Plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied on long sea days. The headliner show, Abbacadabra, was fabulous. Almost thought we were watching the original group! The Ice show and Dive show were even better than on previous cruises. It's the same show, but has been beefed up and was truly well done. Comedy shows were funny though there is some language and adult content so be advised. Our dining staff, Camilo and Leighton, were fabulous. We traveled with our mother who is handicapped, and they went out of their way to accommodate her. A few notes on traveling with mobility limited persons. The staff was great about assisting her on and off the ship. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and fast. We rented a scooter which was waiting for her in her room. So glad we did this as it gave her some independence. Some of the doorways were very tight to get a scooter into and some room layouts are better than others to get in and out of. The public bathrooms can be a bit of a maze to navigate, especially at crowded times. We did find other passengers to be exceedingly rude when we were trying to get her around the ship. They would push ahead of her in line and race ahead of her to get on the elevator. I felt like I had to constantly look out for her, and it made it difficult for me to relax and have a good time. This was not RCI's fault, but just had to rant a bit. Crew were always very courteous towards her. Shore excursions are limited for handicapped individuals at some of the ports, so be prepared to make other arrangements. We mostly just went to the port shops. We were able to take her scooter on and off the ship without too much difficulty. There was always a crew member there to assist at the gangway. Read Less

This ship itself is one of the best. There is a lot to do, and different "spaces" to keep you entertained during the sea days. Down side of being "big" is that it is incredibly difficult to manage large numbers of guests who tend to want to eat at the same time. It is a cattle drive at feeding time. The wait staff is absolutely spent. They are tired and overworked. They really try to muster up a smile, but you can see that they are too tired to really care. I don't find them too friendly, and feel bad about asking them do to anything for me, given how hard they are working. Restaurant availability is lacking after 9:00 pm. Excursion staff was surprisingly unprepared. On our trip they did not account for the time difference between that kept on ship and that of St Kitts. As such, the times printed on the excursion tickets were wrong, so RCC just cancelled many of the excursions that day (no apology), and informed us of that cancellation when we showed up for the excursion (so no time to schedule a new one). If you have been to St Kitts, then you know that without an excursion, there is little to do in port. Considering there were only 4 ports being visited on this cruise, having nothing to do for one of them was not trivial. -The best port on this cruise is San Juan PR, especially during the holidays. We only stayed in this port for `3.5 hours (guessing port costs were cutting into profits). -Labadee Haiti is merely an extension of the ship, and it is not safe to venture away from this area . We jet skied which was fun. Although it is a guided tour, they make it interesting for the experienced jet skiers and the beginners. Locals are a bit aggressive in regard to attracting business. -St Marteen is entertaining for about an hour and a half - one must have excursions planned to fill up that day. We took the Tall ship tour which was a lot of fun - they get the guests involved in sailing the ship. Entertainment is excellent on the ship, but you must have reservations for the offered shows. So do that online long before your sailing date. Tip: you don't need to buy a drink package, unless you want specialty drinks (specialty coffee, frozen drinks, alcohol-containing drinks) . Getting on and off the ship was quite efficient. In short the ship is great, but they are going to have to increase the number of staff to be competitive with other ships in regard to service. This would also alleviate the very obvious fatigue issue with regard to resident staff. One simply cannot work staff 7 days a week, 10-16 hours a day, and expect a different outcome. Read Less

We chose this ship because it was sailing on New Year's Eve. It was festively decorated for the occasion. Pros: Getting on and off the ship was flawless! For the ship to be as big as it is, it was seamless. There is plenty to do on the ship. If you are bored, shame on you! The pools are beautiful and very clean. The towel stations are always open and ready. Starbucks is a real plus. The workers were some of the more pleasant we encountered. The ports were nice except Puerto Rico and we were only there a few hours. The crew did a fabulous job of a "cookout" in Labadee. What a fun day! The specialty restaurants are fabulous! Indulge Great room housekeeping Cons: So many of the store workers and especially the excursion desk people were curt and rude. Avoid them if you can. The food in the dining room is just ok. The servers are superb, but the food is just so so. The amusement arcade room games were not working. You would not redeem your tickets. There was no one around to help. Johnny Rockets is terrible food. The ship appears dirtier than expected for RC. Perhaps too many people...... We will not be going on that ship again. Read Less

This was my 23rd cruise (cruised 10 other times on other lines) with Royal Caribbean which was always my favorite line. However, I am sorry I decided to take a Mega ship this year and because of our experience, I will never take another Mega ship again. The Oasis of the Seas was a fabulous ship, no doubt, but a number of things that Royal Caribbean has been known for suffered because of the masses of people who had to be serviced. Embarkation was a nightmare, which was a continuation of our terrible airport checkin. It used to be that once your bags were on the plane, you never saw them again until they were delivered in front of your cabin on the ship. Imagine our shock when we had to haul our bags through the airport, searching for someone to ask where we should go. We were never told by our Royal Caribbean agent that this would happen at the airport so we were shocked and incredibly disappointed, not to mention exhausted by the time we boarded the ship. Our cabin was comfortable and clean. However, this was the worse food I'd ever eaten on ANY Royal Caribbean ship. It was more like what prisoners call "grub". This was true in both the dining room and the Windjammer. The best things to eat were the rolls and butter and desserts. You often didn't know what the food was in the Windjammer, ugh. There were many foreign dishes which needed and English translation so we'd know what we were eating. Fortunately, service was excellent in our cabin, dining room and Windjammer. It is obvious that Royal is changing it's focus to younger, less discerning passengers who could care less about quality, taste and presentation of their meals. That is so sad but I guess there are just way too many people to care about ambiance and quality. When I spend that much money, I want quality. I can eat tough prime rib, tiny lobsters the size of prawns, and stew at home. Royal Caribbean might find that they are losing many of their seasoned cruisers to the younger, less experienced, less demanding passenger and because of this, they will quickly find themselves on the level with Carnival Cruise Lines. Passage ways were dirty. Main dining room food was of marginal quality. Exercise equipment was broken and in need of repair. Main headliner was of poor quality. Internet service for the price was terrible. It took 30 min. for an email page to load. Main show (CATS) was impossible to follow. Many guests left after the first intermission. The overall experience when compared to previous RC cruises was a disappointment. It appears the RC is cutting corners to increase profits. It felt like they are resting on previous laurels earned to mislead current customers that the quality of excellent service provided in the past in continuing when in fact it isn't. RC needs to return to previous way of providing excellent services across the board without nickel and diming their customers with poor service, stained or dirty carpeted areas, lousy entertainment, and general lack of concern over the quality of the experience the individual cruising experiences. Unless this approach to customer service changes our family will not be sailing with RC in the future. Charging additional funds for internet access these days sounds about as logical as charging for air as it so engrained in today's society. The internet was so slow at the lesser of the to performance packages it was completely useless. Read Less

I traveled with my husband and Port Canaveral was a good choice of departure. The boarding was fairly fast, considering the size of the ship (Oasis of the Seas), which holds over 6 thousand passengers. Our room was nice and our stateroom guy was super pleasant and quick to provide any extras that we requested such as extra pillows. The days at seas were pleasant. None of the areas were overly crowded if you wake up at a reasonable time. Since we both were fairly early rises, we didn't get huge breakfast lines either. That were plenty of options for breakfast outside of the main breakfast area, including "The Park" on deck 8, Central Park area. That's plenty of food choices o please all palates, Greeks and Troy-ans... (lol.. a Brazilian expression)... I'm glad we both purchased the beverage package in advance because it costs $12.00 dollars more to purchase it on the ship. It saves the hassle of worrying about how much money you're going to spend.. Tips are included but in the package, but I still managed to spend about $60.00 on bar tips... The bar selection is awesome... They pretty much have everything ..... Dinner was so so... Not so good, not too bad.. Slow service.... Food not always as good as expected...The staff was pleasant.. We didn't go to the A La Carte restaurants..My husband is definitely not a restaurant person, he hates the food industry, and therefore I cannot comment on that. The shore excursions and ports.... Ahhhhh ... this is a whole new chapter in itself. We stopped in 4 ports and pre-booked all excursions... I heard a lot of people complaining at ALL ports. about different things... St. Kitts is definitely an ugly little place at the port itself. I was upset because I wanted to buy a Harley shirt but they were closed when we got back from excursion..,. It's confusing at first to focus on ship time versus local time.. We chose the Catamaran and snorkel adventure.. That's was not really great about the snorkeling experience.. No colors, no creatures, no reefs, BUT, the whole crowd was in an good vibration and the crew was fun... And thos rum punch on the way back killed us... OMG... Other snorkelers from a different excursion said yhery didn't get anything at all.. So, we were lucky... The second port was St. Maarten and it's a sweet little place.. I wish the excursion times would be more coordinated so we could do multiple ones... We actually chose to swim with the dolphins in Antigua and we loved the swimming part. The lunch they offered was not too impressive... It's a long day and everything was way too expensive there, so bring a snack with you. Also, be aware of the very long, bounce, boat ride... About one hour each way... The next port was San Juan, Puerto Rico and I totally fell in love with the place... It's adorable.... We chose a motorized tour to the Old and New San Juan.. I just wish the day would be longer there.. We had to leave by 2 pm.... San Juan was extremely HOT and I'm glad I didn't choose the bike or walking tour.. Keep that in mind folks!!!! The last port was Labadee in Haiti... Fabulous island owned by Royal Caribbean and it ports one ship at a time.. That's so many options of what to do there... We chose the Zip Line and it was awesomeeee!!! Pure adrenaline... The shopping pavilion was a nice place to shop but the area in the back was a nightmare... The locals don't let you look or breeze without trying to sell you their craft.. It's suffocating... The food served was lousy.. The bar was limited... Last day cruising (at sea) was an opportunity to relax and rest a little bit, but most os us mortals, end up drinking too much. The overall cruise was very good... Customer service resolved all issues we had, even if the waiting time could be long... The shows were mostly great and I wish I had seen a few other ones... Ohhh,... a reminder that this ship allows you to pre-book shows, so I strongly recommend it or you might not find a spot to some shows.... Go ahead.... go have some fun!!!! Enjoy your cruise!!! We chose this cruise because this date worked for everyone. We really did not want to go on one of the mega ships thinking it would be too big. We actually did not find the ship to feel much larger than the other ships we have cruised on. Once we figured out where everything was we settled into an enjoyable week. We staked out some chairs on the first sea day and were able to find everyone in our group in that area of the ship. Food - the food on New Years Eve was exceptional. We knew the food would not be as good the rest of the cruise and we were correct. Some dishes were great & others not so great. In general, the apps were very good and the desserts were not so good. They need a new pastry chef on the Oasis. The dining room staff and all the staff on board were great. In general we found the staff to be the best of any cruise we were previously on. We ate in the dining room every morning and the food was good with good selections. For lunch we ate at the Park Cafe, great salads and sandwiches. We did not eat in the Windjammer. I went one lunch with my mom and it was quite crowded, as I expected. She said the food was good. Our cabins were as expected - clean and small. I thought the bathroom was larger than other ships and we fit everything comfortably - we were in a balcony on deck 10 mid-aft of ship which was a very good location. Entertainment was fun - comedy show was very good as was the ice show and the aqua show. Cats was very well done but many people left at intermission, they perform the full length Broadway production. My sister and I went on the backstage tour (free - check your cruise compass) it was really fun. I enjoyed all the shows, there was a variety of opinions from our 9 but we all went each night. MAKE SHOW RESERVATIONS ON LINE BEFORE YOU CRUISE. You can always change them or cancel and do show up at least 15 minutes early because they will let non-ticket holders in to full up the venue. Since we went to a show 5 of the nights we didn't get to see much of the bar entertainment but the Jazz club was good when we stopped in and there was plenty to do in the evenings. Most of our group went to the casino which was busy and larger than other ships. They do allow smoking in the casino so that makes it somewhat uncomfortable if you don't smoke. We only did one ship shore excursion in St. Marteen, a bus tour of the island, which we all enjoyed. In Labadee we just got off the ship, tipped one of the chair guys to find us chairs - there were plenty when you got away from the dock. One tip is that it's hard to get into the water on the left side of the beach - a lot of coral. If you walk over to the right it's much easier to get in. They have a big BBQ so there is plenty to eat (and drink of course) when you are off the boat. The zip line is not like you see in the ads - it's tiny! No one from our group bothered. The Flowriders are fun but expect lines. A couple of our guys went before we got off the ship on port days and were able to get in a few rides without waiting in line too long. I think we would all go again but if we had a choice would book on the ship one size down from the Oasis class. Read Less
