This year we decided to take a Christmas cruise with our family and Oasis of the Seas seemed a good choice, but what a let down! As a diamond member I've cruised more than 15 times with RCL and never expected this regression, it seemed a Carnival Cruise but more expensive. At dinner you could barely move between tables since the ship had more than 6700 passengers and tables were added to fit all ...
The best cruise we’ve ever been on was a 2011 family Christmas cruise on Freedom of the Seas. Every other one we’ve gone on since then, whether on Carnival or Royal, hasn’t lived up to that high standard, and things are moving consistently in the wrong direction. This sailing on Oasis did nothing to turn that trend around.
Carnival has the reputation for nickel-and-diming their way through ...
This was our 35th cruise on RCL, starting in 2002 on Explorere of the Seas. We sailed on Oasis of the Seas on its' preinaugural cruise in December 2009 and many times since. After trying for many years we finally got our family to join us. It was the first cruise for the grandchildren and only the second RCL cruise for their parents and our sons mother-in-law. We really wanted to get everyone ...
This was certainly not one of the better cruises we have taken on Royal Caribbean. We flew to Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday, 11/12/23 and got on the Royal Caribbean shuttle to Miami. We were a quarter mile from the Royal Caribbean terminal and the bus broke down on the highway. After sitting in the hot bus for an hour we transferred to another bus and was shuttled to the terminal. By this time most ...
I was looking forward to sailing on Oasis because I haven't sailed on RCI since Anthem in Oct. 2019 and I hate to admit it but it was rather disappointing.
Embarkation - Smooth as silk. Walked into terminal, scanned boarding pass , walked onto ship. Whole process took about 5 minutes
Cabin - We had a cabin overlooking Central Park on Deck 11 and it was very good. Heard jazz music ...
This is my 27th review for Cruise Critic. Unlike some reviewers that join this group just to complain about a bad experience, I have, for the past 10+ years felt obliged to write about my cruise experiences. I am a professional writer in another life which tends to make my reviews long and thorough. If you want to know simply if we liked our time on the Oasis, just count the stars. If you want to ...
I have never sailed on an Oasis class ship. So we choose this ship for that experience and also it was sailing out of Bayonne, N.J. Which is only an hour and a half ride for us.
Embarkment and departure from the ship was so easy and quick. No waiting in line, straight in, sea pass was scanned from phone, off to x-ray, sent to counter with no one ahead of us .. sea pass scanned again and ...
This is our 5th cruise with Royal Caribbean and I felt, the worst. We booked a September cruise because we believed there would not be as many children on the ship since school had recently begun. We were wrong. There were so many children, young and teens, on this cruise that it made it overly crowded(I heard the ship was at full capacity). Fortunately, the Oasis is a very large ship, so I was ...
I am back from a cruise (8/27-9/3-2023)Staff was outstanding. Food was great. The French restaurant we went twice and once to Chops and rest of nights we ate in dining room. Johnny Rockets breakfast was wonderful. Shows CATS was slow but fun . Frozen show was fun but Aqua 80s was best even though it was short was because of the ship rocking and pool water. Comedy shows funny. Bingo was fun I ...
The Good: Unbelievably attentive staff. Everyone from Royal Caribbean will go out of their way to accommodate any concerns you may have. Conceptually, the Boardwalk, Central Park, and Royal Promenade areas should mesh and work well. They do not. The Aqua80 show was memorable. The steak I devoured at 150 Central Park was amazing!
The Bad: Jam 6,500+ people onto a ship and what do you get? ...
