We choose this ship as we were led to believe that it was going to be an unbelievable more exciting cruise. We were led down a path of a lack luster -- cattle packed cruise. The food while eatable lacked taste and was over cooked. The speciality restaurants were a joke -- Chops -- Steaks were over seasoned and overcooked. The Italian restaurant --- no chicken or veal dishes. Bar service was poor or better yet less than poor. We stood at one bar for 15 minutes to get a drink and then it was wrong. Could not understand half of the staff nor could they understand us. Simple things like I would like an cheese omelet and I got two fried eggs. Main dining room service was like a cattle drive --- pushing you into a smaller and smaller space between tables -- wait staff was catch us if you can. Assuming we go on another cruise --- it will be an a smaller vessel. I don't think that Royal Caribbean has got it together -- staffing wise and service wise with these larger ships. Read Less

Far too many people. We had to stand in line for almost everything. There are not enough chairs at the pool for the guests on the ship and the cruise announcer was extremely annoying. Announcements would come on over dinner and blast the speakers while you were trying to eat saying things like, "GIVE IT UP FOR THE DINING STAFF" so loudly that you would want to leave. The amenities were nice, but you had to stand in line for quite a while to do any thing like ice skating or zip lining. The Windjammer was so crowded most mornings, I would prefer not to eat. The solarium was nice, if you could manage to get a chair. Several of the pools didn't open until 9, causing the one that was open to be extremely crowded prior to that point. Too many people at the bars to get a drink in a timely fashion. The staff is constantly trying to sell you extras from the time you step on the ship until the time you step off. The all inclusive beverage package does NOT include all beverages, only those $13 and under and a large majority of cocktails and especially wine are over that price. I would not go again. Read Less

It was a fabulous cruise with great entertainment and a great staff! We love the larger ships with more entertainment activities! We loved Costa Maya. It was the first time being in that particular port! We weren't crazy over Cats in the first half but after intermission it was great! We are booked on the Oasis again for next year! Our cruise friends loved the ship also. They like to scuba dive and had a great time! They also had a boardwalk balcony that they loved in the aft area! Central Park is one of our favorite areas. Thanks to Royal for bringing an Oasis class ship to Pt. Canaveral! Keep them coming. We love eating at the specialty restaurants at least once a cruise and love the wine tastings in Vintages very much. Please keep add extra water and ice shows if possible. thanks, Loyal Georgia cruisers! Please keep the different itenararies coming. Read Less

However, we would love to spend more time in Puerto Rico. This was the fastest we have ever gotten off the ship.Good job.We are really looking forward to our next cruise and would like a balcony,if the price is right, next time, soon. We found the cabin comfortable and loved it close to central park, my favorite. The diamond club is very comfortable and spacious. The entertainment and activities for children we, found them wonderful and we would like to bring our little ones in our family with us in the very near future. I chose this trip because I prefer Royal Caribbean cruise line. I chose it because of the ports and shore excursions. I was traveling with a person who had never been on a cruise before and I wanted places I thought he would like. The embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth due to the planning by the ship. The ship was designed amazingly with the shops in the middle of the ship open to the sky above. Our cabin had a balcony with a view of the ocean. There was even a couch in the room. It was very spacious for a cabin. Our waiters were exceptional in the dining room. The food was good, with a good variety of options to choose from. There was a variety of entertainment and activities for every age group. The ports were good for the most part. I would like to spend a week in San Juan. A must see in Phillipsburg is the Butterfly and Exotic Bird excursion. I would definitely take another Royal Caribbean cruise. I would probably choose another ship just to explore a new ship. We booked a Junior Balcony Suite on Oasis. I'm an introvert so the only way I'll cruise with my husband is if I have a quiet suites-only restaurant and a quiet ocean view balcony. This helps me not get overwhelmed by people. For the last 10 years, it's worked. Until... Before we left, RCL called and offered us an upgrade to a Loft Suite for $800. The rep said it was an amazing deal, beautiful suite, we'd love it. He said other reps were calling other passengers with the same offer so we had to hurry. We asked if it was still an ocean view. He said yes. We took it. We got to the ship. Oh. My. God. This suite - #1736 - was RIGHT BEHIND the sports deck. The view was of the basketball court. The "ocean view" was a sliver of water over the top of the basketball court, the FloRider, the AquaTheater, about half a football field back. People played basketball from dawn to 11 p.m. right outside our window every day. We had no privacy and had to keep the curtains closed. There were constant announcements from the sports court and zip line. It was so loud. There was norovirus outbreak so maintenance workers were out between 3 and 4 a.m. yelling and using power washers every morning. Smoke from the stack (right above us) blew right onto our deck and into the room if we opened the door. Now I know why they were trying to unload this room cheap. We had other problems, our on board promo credit for the 100 hour sale never showed up and the concierge said she couldn't do anything about it. The TV that goes into the ceiling right over the bed would fall in the middle of the night and the attendant said it couldn't be fixed. There was velcro EVERYWHERE holding drawers and sliding closet doors shut because this suite gets so much vibration. As soon as we got on board the suites-only restaurant was booked solid. There were always people 50+ deep at Guest Services. We called Customer Service as soon as we got back asked for a refund of the upgrade fee. They said we should have resolved it on board according to company policy. I asked if that was a written policy. She said "No, it's just normal. If you've really been cruising on RCL for 10 years you would just know that." She literally said those exact words. We *really have* been sailing RCL for 10 years (we have the tens of thousands of dollars in receipts to prove it). We are great tippers. We never complain. We make our own bed. We're nice, happy, loyal cruisers. I can't believe RCL took advantage of us and treated us this way. Incidentally, I filed a complaint with the BBB and noticed that RCL gets three stars and Disney gets great reviews. Hope that helps you make a decision. Now, about Oasis: Good stuff: Service was great. Super friendly. Liked the suites-only sun deck, which became important when I couldn't use my own balcony. Loved the wine and tapas bar. Ports have clearly improved. Up to you if it's bad stuff: With this ship, RCL is clearly vying for Disney dollars. It's gaudy as heck and clearly aimed at little kids and young families. Everything points inward instead of at the ocean and the view. Oasis is not a ship for adults or people who want to relax. It's constantly "on" 24x7, it's loud, it's huge, and there are so many people (6,500) that there are lines everywhere, for everything. (I felt bad for the little ones who had to stand in line for everything they wanted to do. They got tired. They melted down. Parents once drawn to "so much to do" regretted how far they had to walk their littles to everything.) The ship is an engineering marvel, but it's more like a constant party (not a drunk party - more like a forced carnival party) 24x7. If you enjoy drinking and gambling, this is for you. If you like looking at the ocean and relaxing, you're out of luck - there are no shady, quiet places to get away on this ship. It's 100% about sports activities, shows, and little kids. I will also say because the ship is so tall it catches more wind. It definitely moves around more than other ships and I saw more people seasick on this boat than any other I've been on in 10 years. Also, with 6,500 people, norovirus risk increases, and surprise! There was an outbreak. Oh, and they started charging $8.00 for room service, even in suites. EVERYTHING had an up charge. Crazy. This is a beautiful ship and has lots to do - the entertainment was outstanding. Service was great. Never felt crowded. The Wipeout cafe was great for breakfast. The Solarium was a great place to relax. Do not miss Chester if he is playing the the Schooner bar - he is great. We took RC transportation to and from Orlando airport to ship - it was easy and fast. Highly recommend that you choose the 'take your own luggage' and leave the ship early - it is so smooth and very fast. Cats is not my favorite Broadway show - but the cast was terrific - the singing and dancing was absolutely Broadway quality. The Aqua show was amazing - but be careful where you sit - there was something black (maybe mold) on the chair that stained by clothes. I would recommend the ship and chose it for another cruise. I did not choose this ship but am so glad I got to go on such a beautiful vessel. The entertainment was exceptional and I loved walking down central park and stop at the little cafes. The ship was so large and over whelming but I finally found my way around. The food service was over the top. The ship, the streets, the rooms, public bath rooms, casino were immaculate. And all the crew dressed so nicely. Good job, RCCL We loved our dinning experience at table 416 in the Grande. No room for improvement. Our Head Waiter, Jeldon Fernandes, Natalia and Dan Hooker were great. I wanted to bring them all home with me. All the bar tenders were exceptional. And the time I spent in the casino was fun. I will be going on another cruise with Royal Caribbean in September. It won't be on this ship but I sure wish it was. THANKS FOR A GREAT CRUISE. Read Less

Royal Caribbean's Prices are on the High Side as far as Cruises go, but then every turn you take RC wants even more money. Everything was an obscene amount of an upgrade fee. More money for Soda, $50 a head per meal for a nicer restaurant. I hated that everybody on the ship was trying to up-sell us on something. Disney on the other hand, Soda is included, their Upgraded Restaurant Palo, which is equivalent to a $125 Meal Per Person at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel is only a $20 Upgrade. The entertainment selection was pitiful on RC. Disney Cruise line's #1 Goal is for you to have the most memorable vacation ever, you've already paid the piper their price, now just cruise. RC you intentionally close your "Free" Soft Serve ice cream at like 5:30PM everyday, just so happens to be when Ben and Jerry's opens up their shop, there you go trying to force people to spend more money. Your room service is more money. Disney Cruise Line all Room Service is included 24/7, even the $7 Mickey Ice Cream treats at Disneyland are "FREE" with their room service. RC is all about getting more and money, the first day on board where RC tries to get you to sign up for any and all packages humanly possible was ridiculous, it was like being at 20 Used Car lots, at once being bombarded by all the Used Car Sales people. I chose this cruise as a 20 year anniversary cruise for my wife and I.. This was the worst cruise I have ever taken...to many things went wrong to list, but I can say, I will never cruise this size ship again and Oasis needs lots of repairs and cleaning. We had issues from our toilet overflowing, to screws coming out of our sliding glass door in our state room...Our key cards kept failing and I never had a single person ask me for a cocktail on the entire cruise. For the amount of money I spent, I think, as a guest, I should have been looked after a lot more.... This ship is in need of desperate repair and maintenance and needs to be dry docked and upgraded. No elegance what so ever and seems like more of a mall on the water. Very disappointed and will never sail the larger ships again!!! Was not worth the money!!!!! Read Less

Royal is so obviously HORRIBLE I don't know how anyone likes them. The food in the buffet was terrible. The deserts were uninspired and tasteless. I must say the main dining rooms Service is very good and the food is good not great. But the worst part is the Customer Service, Bar tenders, Cafe' service people any place where they can charge you they are more concerned with your money than Your good time. There is no music or personnel to get people partying. The AC was set so low we all where sweating in public area's. It all seemed like a low class Operation. Beautiful ship, just too big to be very personal. Was disappointed in our table at evening dining. We were hoping to be at a large table so we could meet new friends, instead the four of us was at a small crowded table in behind a wall. We were celebrating our son and wife's 36th wedding anniversary and I told the ship about it before boarding, but they did nothing. The food service was great but need more variety in the dining room. I was amazed how 6500 people was serviced all of that food. The crew did a wonderful job with the cabins everything was very clean and in place. We all enjoyed the Come Fly with me show and the diving show, lots of talent. We would cruise on the Oasis of Sea again with out hesitation. The pilot did a wonderful job and it was easy to forget that you were on a cruise ship. Read Less

This cruise was a Christmas gift for my wife and I for our 30th anniversary. We were not sure what to expect. We could have not chosen a better cruse line or ship. The Oasis of the Seas will not disappoint. Here are 5 things you should know as a first time cruiser: 1) Packing: You do not need an entire wardrobe. pack rather lightly but take one or two pair of dress clothes and a tie for the men. 2) Shopping: The items on the ship are pricy. Great deals at the ports of call. At Labadee do not go near locals. They would not give me back my change! 3) Use room service. it is free. You will enjoy visiting the many food venues but enjoy a morning or late night on your balcony. 4) Stay disconnected! You can buy internet access but take the opportunity to disconnect from work, friends, email, social media. Make it a real vacation. Relax.... You will be offered a deal on internet access a few days before the end of the cruise. If you must, you can connect then. But at least take the first few days to put down you phone and computer. You will feel the stress melt away. 5) Plan an excursion. We did not because we wanted to experience each town we visited. I must say that I did not feel comfortable outside the port walls in either Jamaica or Cozumel. I wish I had signed up for an excursion. You can swim with dolphins, raft down a river and climb waterfalls. The added bonus is that some of the excursions are a couple of hours drive from the ship which means that you get to see the town as well as the countryside on the way. I would not consider this an honest and objective review if I did not share a couple of potentially negative comments. 1) Plan on $110 parking fee for leaving your car for a week. I know this is typical and similar to an airport but it still stings. 2) Food is usually good but not quiet as good as I expected. I realize they are cooking thousands of meals each day but even though most of the food was very good, I did get a couple of disappointing meals. But good news, just order something else. You can have as many as you wish. 3) My wife had a spa treatment on the last day and the spa gave themselves an unapproved $20 tip..... Maybe that is customary but I felt it was a little tacky. I truly hope this helps you if you are a first timer. Do not hesitate if you are trying to decide. It is a great time. The ship is huge but you will eventually find your way around. If you are worrying abut getting sea sick, for the most part you can barely feel the ship moving. We did have one day of 10-17 foot waves and the ship was a little unstable. My wife got sick for one day but got over it quickly and it did not negatively impact our trip. Our next cruise will be the Eastern Caribbean. I hear the ports are a little nicer. Read Less

Been on over 45 cruises - am diamond + on Royal. Had so many bad issues on this cruise. Windjammer was horrible. Always congested and lack of food on three different visits. Was traveling with four small children so very hard to find food/milk for them. BEWARE - your account balance/onboard credit may be different on inroom tv from what guest services records show. Don't know if it's a scam on their part to get you to spend money or if it's a glitch in their system. They could not explain. Our Diamond + internet credits were not loaded on our seapasses. Overall, crew was not friendly (except housekeeping staff - they were great). Crew was also were unable to address our problems and really did not seem to care. Kids program was generally good but there are very few activities to do as a family. Could have been some more movies, family karaoke, dance parties, etc. Too bad that the operation of this ship is so poor because it is a beautiful ship. Windjammer is poorly designed so you're either walking into people or poles. This happened at every visit, no matter the time of day. Read Less

“Royal Caribbean – where the extraordinary happens” In our case it the entire handling of our experience was “extraordinary” bad. As UK residents we booked a “once in a lifetime holiday” with Royal Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas going the Bahamas, St Thomas and St Martin. We booked shore trips, for each of the 3 shore days, directly with Royal Caribbean prior to sailing, assuming that they would have vetted their partners appropriately and therefore we would be safe. However, on day 2 in St Thomas, we were on the BOSS Underwater Scooter trip and my husband was injured when another passenger jumped into the water before he had surfaced. No one on the tour boat was supervising participants entering the water which is why the incident happened. My husband ended up with a 2 inch scar which was stitched (badly) by the cruise ship doctor. He then spent the rest of the holiday unable to participate in any activities, concussed and in pain. Our holiday was ruined! My husband has been left with a scar with is clearly visible. What did Royal Caribbean do – absolutely nothing! They accept no responsibility, even though we booked through them. When we spoke to customer services on the ship they simply stated “accidents happen”. They offered no compensation or assistance to allow us to undertake our holiday again, even though participants in another shore trip incident, which resulted in no injuries, were offered 25% off their next cruise. We have been on several Royal Caribbean cruises prior to this incident and were Crown and Anchor members, however, never again!! Their lack of customer service is staggering. I guess caveat emptor is just as applicable to booking cruises. Their legal get out was that it was the subcontractors negligence and there is no reciprocal agreement with the US Virgin Islands. In Regard to the rest of our experience. This is one of Royal Caribbean’s largest ships. However the ratio of staff seems considerable lower than their smaller ships. This means that the staff were less pleasant and appeared too busy, at some points even rude. We also found that on other ships there was a shared dining experience where you could share the table at dinner and meet new people. This was not an optio. On this ship so despite it being a massive ship with many more passengers there seemed less opportunity to meet and relate to others. We like to go the casino at night. On other ships there is a minimum bet of $2 on some tables. This ship the minimum limit was $5 that meant out $20 limit was spent within about 20 minutes. So much for an evening’ entertainment. All in all this was the worst cruise we have ever been on and would not use Royal Caribbean again. Do not use Royal Caribbean if looking for a cruise!! Read Less

Wanted to travel on the Oasis of the Seas. Embarkation was easy and staff was very knowledge and helpful. The room cabin was plenty large enough for 2 people. This was the largest ship that I have traveled on. We were able to be on our own in Nassau, thanks to where the ship was docked. Dining and service was great. One drawback and I assume was due to the size of the ship was that you had to have reservations for many of the shows. If you did not know this when you booked, the chances are you missed out. We had a great person who made our reservation and recommended that we pre-book at that time. Only did one shore excursion on St. Maarten and traveled to both sides of the island. I would highly recommend this excursion. The disembarkation went okay. There was some chaos when in the luggage claim area about the lines for customs. The easiest thing to do is find your luggage and a porter. You will get thru customs much faster. Read Less

Selected the Oasis for cruise length, departure port (we live in central FL) and to try a big ship with lots of amenities. Reviews for Oasis looked OK, not as high as Disney but better than Carnival/Norwegian. Embarkation was a disaster. Our stateroom was occupied (luggage open, clothes out, shower recently used - but no one in the room) when we opened the door at 2 PM. Customer service told us our room was “blocked,” we shouldn’t have been assigned the room and that they would have a room available an hour after departure – immediately asked for the manager - the CS Manager told us this was unheard of, that she would determine the cause and get it corrected - we told here we don't care about the cause just get us into a stateroom - same story, wait until an hour after departure - she told us to leave our bags in the passageway outside the stateroom until we had a room (that sounds safe - not) – we refused, so she told us to bring them to the customer service desk – again, we refused and said Oasis crew could move the bags. The CSM could/would not guarantee the stateroom we would eventually get would be our class stateroom or better (ocean view balcony) – without that guarantee we would not sail. About 10 minutes before the ship sailed the CSM was able to figure out we could use our stateroom, a contractor had been put in the wrong stateroom (ours - 2 doors down needed the repairs) and as soon as the room was refreshed (530 - an hour after sailing) we could move in. When we got back to the stateroom the head was NOT clean, stains on the toilet, etc. Floor attendant said the stains couldn’t be removed – got the deck supervisor involved and we were able to show them both how to remove "stains" - nearly 5 minutes of effort was required. Finally had a clean room - after 6 PM, over 4 hours since first opening the door - just about enough time to unpack and get ready to be 15 minutes late for dinner at Chef's Table (see below). CSM called that night to ask how we were doing – and offered to get us “appropriate compensation” for our time and trouble. CSM eventually (late the next day when we went to her and asked) offered us 40% off our next cruise as compensation (knowing this was our first – and now honestly our last – cruise on RC). She “could not” offer either a beverage package or internet package as immediate compensation on this cruise when we asked – not "in her authority" and eventually credited us with a shore excursion during the Jamaica port call and inclusion in the “behind the scenes” full ship tour. Inadequate at best. On the 3rd day the room steward noticed my companion got some makeup on her RC robe so he sent it out for cleaning – good catch – but apparently there are 2600 staterooms and NO extra robes onboard as we had to wait for the next day to get the cleaned robe back from the laundry. Food: Only great food experience was the Chef’s table – excellent all around, highly recommend it, but steep at $95/each. Room service breakfast was good. Food in the main dining room is pedestrian at best and intolerable at worst (example – the “lobster bisque” was the consistency of thin tomato soup – no lobster). Seafood soup in Giovanni’s Table (another fee restaurant) contained shrimp and oysters – the shrimp still had the shell on the tail and the oyster was still attached to the shell – apparently on RC soup is finger food (we know dinner leftovers are used in soup – could you make it a LITTLE less obvious). The rest of the meal at Giovanni's was not much better. Food safety is also a problem – at Izumi Hibachi the chef dropped a piece of cooked chicken on the table, then picked it up (using his utensils) and put it back on my dinner companion’s plate (ever seen the rag they use to clean the tables?). During dinner in the main dining room a replacement knife was brought to the table by a waiter holding the knife in his bare hand - by the blade, not the handle (this was caught and corrected by the headwaiter). The french fries at Johnny Rockets were fantastic – until we found several with blue/white hard droplets on them (waiter took them back – came back out an apologized and said they believed some of the plastic bag the fries are packaged in got into the fryer - that seemed a reasonable explanation – and comp’ed us one of our two lunch fees - $6.95). During the ship tour one of the head waiters gave a demonstration of how a table is set for a formal night (the rest of the tour was quite interesting) – had the waiter's assistant made a big show of putting a glove on his right hand to handle plates/utensils while he talking about RC's commitment to food safety, then the assistant picked up a stack of butter plates using his ungloved hand with his thumb in the center of the food area on the plate - apparently unnoticed by the headwaiter. In Cozumel the starboard side of the ship was being cleaned – apparently you cannot pull into a pier with the port side of the ship so as we were leaving the ship we were rained on with the wonderfully clean water from the cleaning of the ship – nearly the entire length of the ship as we left from the forward gangway – guess no one thought to close the forward gangway while cleaning the ship. Labadee, Haiti - do the zip line - it's expensive but quite a thrill. Falmouth, Jamaica - did the combined Dunns River Falls climb/Swimm with the Dolphins experience - both great, wonderful guide, but took up the entire day, left only 20-30 minutes to shop in the port. We sent a letter to the RC CEO with the details of the embarkation, never heard back (same week that Majesty of the Seas was delayed leaving Port Canaveral due to a failed USCG inspection so he and his customer service VP may have been a bit busy). This was only my second cruise (first on Celebrity Silhouette - a very good experience), my companion has been on four previously (MSC, Carnival), this was our first and will be the only RC cruise we ever take. My family and I chose the Oasis of the Seas because we wanted the opportunity to sail on the worlds largest ship. We learned quickly that large isn't always better. We are well experienced cruisers. We have been on at least 15 cruises. We have cruised with Carnival, NCL, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. This was the WORST cruise we have ever been on. I will start with some positive things, although they are few. Embarkation was pretty smooth especially with the amount of people on this cruise. Our room steward was wonderful and very helpful. The dining room experience was nice as well (When we could be there). Our waitress from St. Lucia was a sweetheart. A lot of the staff were good.... The guest service staff not so much. Apparently, we were booked in the wrong room. It was too small to accommodate our family of 4. During our booking we told them my 2 yr old would need a crib. The room had a bed and a couch that came out to a bed. Well the crib had to be in the area of the couch so we couldn't pull the couch bed out leaving my 12 yr old without a bed. We could not move in this room. It definitely didn't meet fire safety code as my Husband is a fireman and "said this is completely unsafe." My 2 yr old has Epilepsy and needs frequent naps to prevent seizures. We had to pay an hourly rate in the nursery to give her a nap. We went to guest services over and over again to ask for a larger room. "They said No they had nothing available." Nothing available, but they were upgrading a gentleman next to me. Apparently, safety is not important to Royal Caribbean. Also the $3,000 I spent on our cruise wasn't enough to help us. Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse My 2 yr old daughter, 12 yr old daughter and myself got the stomach bug on Day 3. We went through having IV's, shots ect.... The worst part was we were quarantined for 4 days out of our 7 day cruise in our shoe box of a room they we couldn't move in. We were treated like we were in jail. They actually had management watching to make sure no one left the room. We were not allowed to get off in Jamaica or Mexico. They also banned us from the main dining room for dinner. We would call room service for ginger ale and power aid. It would take 90 minutes to get drinks even though we were sick and locked in our room. Now that we our home we called post cruise to see if there is anything they can do to help us... Especially, since we lost 4 days and was put in the wrong room, which they admit was wrong. And all they want to offer is a $180 dollar credit towards another cruise with them. Honestly, I don't want to cruise with Royal Caribbean again... And $180 dollars credit after we spent 3K. That is a complete slap in the face. This company needs to learn some customer service. This is awful! We waited for a long time to have a family vacation... We feel we were jipped. On Disembarkation day we couldn't run fast enough off the ship. We will not be back on the Oasis of the Seas. We may never be back on Royal Caribbean. Think twice before you book with this company. If things go bad during your cruise they are not willing to help!. Also, Don't book room 7601..Its a shoe box literally! Read Less

We have been on over 25 cruises, all with Royal Caribbean. Last week we sailed on the Oasis of the Seas. It was the worse cruise we have ever sailed. Surprised to find out there was no longer a Priority check in for Diamond Plus. We had to wait over 2 hours to board. Being a Diamond Plus member, I asked for first seating and the same table due to my diabetes. They told me when we got there that we would not have an assigned table and that we would have to wait in line to be seated. This is not good being a diabetic. I can not wait in line. After 3 days fighting about this, they finally gave us a corner table in first seating. No recognition at all being a Diamond Plus member. Not enough elevators for the amount of people on the ship. Honestly, too many people on the ship which keeps the staff busy and non attentive. In the past, every time we cruised we had a message nightly on the phone from the concierge. We did not have one message from anyone. The waiter for our table was excellent and the room attendant Martha was very nice. Mattress was horrible. Bubble pad underneath. Very uncomfortable. The Windjammer was too crowded everyday. Always a long line and once we got our food there was not a table. Food has gone downhill. I have never complained on my 25 plus cruises but this was a huge disappointment. Read Less

Chose this cruise because cruise critic said it had lots of things for the grandchildren to do. it had great ratings. however.....we had nothing but trouble from day 1. we were promised early seating in main diningroom.....we were passed off to my time dining...it was a hoard of angry people pushing and shoving. infact, everywhere, people were pushing and shoving in the bottle necks where you come off elevators and wait in line for theatres, or dining areas. my granddaughter was trampled twice, her shoe actually broken, and my daughter was groped. i would never, never, never go on this large of a ship again. tooooooo many people, and too many places where you wait in long lines. there is nothing relaxing about the feeling that you have to go do dinner 30-40 min early to wait in the line, so people behind you are smushing you, pushing you and being angry and obnoxious. our gratutities had to corrected three times. the picture folks made multiple copies of the wrong pictures. i could have taken care of our room without the attendant....for all he offered us. not a satisfied customer. this isn't our first cruise.....but it will certainly be our last with this line. over $10,000.00 spent, and it was far less service, less fun, less calm, less, less, less. This was the worst cruise we have ever taken on Royal Caribbean. It was overbooked, the staff were unsociable and rude. The food was just awful, it never changed in the Windjammer. Our bed had hair under the sheet protector, our pillows were blood stained and yellow. We had an issues with the room next to us (10701) It took 3 times to Guest Services and 5 days for the issue to be resolved. Children were allowed to run all over the ship unsupervised (casino, pool, hot tub for adults) I was told there was nothing that could be done about the children. Very disappointed in all aspects of this cruise, would not recommend to anyone, we have been loyal to this cruise line since 2001, looking for something more reliable and consistent. Would post pictures of bedding but they are nasty will share with cruise line only. Thank you Read Less

I would score this cruise a 3- on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the best. I will not go on this ship or any ship of these class and size. I felt on was in a crowded city. I will say the food was excellent and the entertainment as well, of those we were able to attend because of the 2 1/2 hour dining..We went at 5:30 and could not get out until 8:00 unless we just left to get to the shows we booked. Very frustrating. Clubs opened late for dancing should be earlier. Kid s in adult venues, to many private events taking up space. Not enough dining rooms open to handle over 6400 passengers. We will be going on Freedom class or smaller in future, the experience was much better. Read Less

I was so excited to take this cruise, we had done 2 other cruises with royal crib, and couldn't say enough good things about it. BUT this trip was awful, first the waves were terrible and that made it so that the shows were canceled and the deck(some of them) closed. We all lost at least a day due to motion sickness. When we got off at naussa the construction was terrible and I fell on the rough sidewalk area. I was really hurt, my knee turned black and I sprained my ankle, they did clean it up and left me for 30 min and didn't bring out the paper work I was supposed to sign( I feel they didn't want to record it) there also was an older man who had also fallen The food was terrible, We ate in the my time dinning room ,one night we were gassed out with paint fumes coming through the waiters work area. The room had an Oder and the settee was dirty. I went with two other family members so we had 3 rooms between us. St martin also had a lot of construction at the entry area. The smaller dinning areas had trash on the tables and the servers were abrupt and a bit rude in the cafe . Upon calling and complaining, I was offered a 10% on board credit on each persons cruise that expired in the next year...Which is when I found out the 3rd and 4th person actually cost more than the first 2, and actually could have had their own room for the amount it cost. I had been sent an offer in the mail that said 3rd and 4th person would be half price. We are not wealthly and live in MO so taking a cruise is a BIG deal and a BIG expense, not something we do every year, Now all I can say is it was one of those trips I wish I hadn't done, I will probably try other cruise lines at this point and befor this I had been an avid RC follower. I am a disappointed mom and I feel it was $2800 wasted ( this does not include the cost of getting to fla) Read Less

It's a unique cruise experience on this amazing mega mega ship. We have cruised over 80 times and this is our fourth cruise on this class ship. It would be a good cruise to take if you have any concerns about being on the sea because the ship is so large you forget you are no longer on land. The food was the best we have experienced on any cruise. The entertainment excellent with the exception of Broadway show "Cats". Stage too dark. Show was boring. Cast could sing and dance but didn't have cat-like moves like the Broadway show we saw. We were not the only people who left before the half time intermission. However their original show of Hairsprays was excellent as was Chicago on sister ship Allure. What fun to ride a carousel on the boardwalk then go to cenatural park full of live plants and trees followed by a stroll down the promenade for a quick slice of pizza. Something different to do every day and night. Read Less

The off boat trips were disapointing. The snuba was a wonderful experence but the history tours were disapointing. The shows were outstanding. Cats was a wonderful show and the actors did a great job. The aqua shows were exciting and fun the divers were exciting to watch. The casino was fun with friendly dealers. Overall the ship is beautiful with something for everyone. There were many families on board and all were having a good time. We appreiciated the football games were at the On Air. Even a water leak in out cabin was handled well. but a day without water was a great inconvience. The food in the Windjamer was average but the food in the dining hall was very good. Read Less
