Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

The first night's dinner sent me to the medical facility with nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain. I was diagnosed with gastritis. I knew it was food poisoning from dinner, but the medical staff would not even whisper the words. Little did I know then that a few cruises later the ship would return early because of a gastrointestinal outbreak. Embarcation was the smoothest I have seen ...

Check in was a nightmare

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

We sailed on this ship last year. Same time of year. Last Year checkin went smoothly. This year not so. We are Diamond and usually have priority boarding. It’s one of the perks or always has been. It was last year. After waiting in line for well over an hour we finally got on too late for lunch buffet. Our original time for boarding was 11:30. We got an email from RC telling us not to arrive until ...

It was somewhat of a disappointment

We were SOOOO excited for this cruise. Everything we’d been told we would definitely be stepping up from carnival by choosing this cruise. NOT TRUE. First, the boat itself is spectacular. Lots to do and see, no question. The best pizza joint on the ocean and always stocked. Main dining, SUCKED. Food not good and most nights it was cold. Service sub par in comparison to other cruise lines as far as ...

Great cruise with friends!

The ship was fantastic. Lots of activities. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was the best I've ever had. I think it was because I had reached Diamond status & the staff treated me like royalty! I was constantly getting champagne, wine, or sweets in my cabin. We had My Time Dining & we kept the same waiters. They were outstanding--spoiled us to death! The only bad thing was our ...

Too Many People, Poor Service, Few Amenities

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Oasis of the Seas

First, This is a big boat. But it's mostly storage for all of the passengers. There are not enough amenities to host all of the passengers comfortably. Many times we found we had to wait in lines to be seated for food, for soda machines, ice cream machines, and (most annoyingly) elevators (all the time). We chose this cruise because it was a 'DreamWorks' cruise. We thought it would be ...

Good experience overall, with a few major drawbacks

The two of us got onboard Oasis on 12/9 to enjoy the 8-day Western Caribbean tour. Overall, the experience was positive, as 85-90% of the trip was well organized and executed. The reason for 2-star rating were those few situations which RC could resolve, but they apparently have chosen not to. The ship was spacious, well maintained, and with a lot of amenities. Plenty of activities to choose ...

I really enjoy this ship...here are a few reasons why.... 1. My favorite meal/dish on the ship was Giovani's. Loved the steak and Risotto. Also loved Chops. For non specialty restaurants, I enjoyed the Main dining room for dinner and Park Cafe for lunch. Was not a fan of breakfast at any of the places. 2. I I loved Laberdee. It was beautiful and I enjoyed the beach and zip line. 3. ...

Multigenerational Family Cruise with 7 mo old baby

My parents gifted us this cruise for Christmas, and we had a great time! We stayed in a 2 bedroom Grand Suite (sky class) room 10244. My husband and I shared the smaller room with our 7 month old son, my brother slept on the futon-type couch in the living room area, and my parents stayed in the larger bedroom. We were all comfortable, especially since we usually stay in inside cabins and are ...

Best cruise ever

This is my 3rd cruise with RCCL and my 6th overall. This was by far the best one. I was worried about being on such a big ship with 6000 passengers as I have only been on smaller ships before. It was never a issue. There is always something to do and we were never bored. I had read the reviews about the ship being old and showing its age, Not true. It was not brand new but was well ...

First of all let me be clear that this review of 12/2 sail takes all things into consideration. I do not expect perfection. Esp as our ship was at max capacity of 6000 plus people. With that said, I can honestly say this was the best cruise ship and experience ever overall! I went w my family linclufing teen and ship was decked out in holiday decos wonderful! Tips first: 1. Try to prepare ...
