I gave my wife for Christmas a cruise gift which it was Carnival Liberty on 1/28/18 we have a 8 month old baby which unfortunately got sick on the first day of the cruise took him to the doctor that is at Carnival Liberty he had a rash and the doctor said it was measles he told us to stay in the room and don't take them out of the room until we got back to the port in Cape Canaveral we were stuck in a room for two and a half days after the first day I complaint didn't get a call or asked if we need it anyting it's a shame that they were worried of my son getting everybody on the ship sick which I Emma wife understood but they did not care about us they just stuck us in a room to fend for ourselves it's a real shame that the only ones that really tried to help it was two gentlemen from housekeeping and as soon as we got back to Cape Canaveral we were one of the first ones to get escorted out of the ship took my son to the hospital and ended up that was not the measles on top of that they sent Health Services of Orange County to my house it's a real shame what was supposed to be nice trip especially for my wife that's been a great mother it wasn't don't want any money or free Cruise from Carnival but kindness and caring for other people goes a long way Read Less

We chose this cruise at the last minute as we had to cancel the one for Norwegian Dawn that set sail 2 weeks later due to work. We prefer 5 to 7 day cruises as you have more time to peruse the ship and all that it offers. However, since this was our second time aboard the Liberty, we thought we would be just fine. We had a balcony room on the 11th deck and had the wonderful room steward Lareston. He asked us our preferred times for room service (I had never been asked this before) and tried his best to accommodate. However, with 2 teenagers in and out of the room, it was a challenge for him but he managed. Loved the balcony (although it showed its age a bit), and what needed to work in the room did. We loved our dining crew in the MDR (Golden Olympian), although the food was "meh." It lacked a bit of flavor. But because of our waitstaff, we ate dinner every night in the MDR, which is a rare feat for us. Elegant night was okay, although now on Carnival, most people seem to opt out of dressing up. We did not go ashore in Nassau, so I cannot comment on that experience. Entertainment was fine; my husband loves the casino and trivia, so that's a 5 star rating for him. We did not see the shows like Flick ( previously seen on Magic) only caught one comedian Caroline Prickard (sp?) for her family show and she was hilarious. Overall, good ship. Read Less

This was our 6th cruise and our first with Carnival. This was a cruise for my 67th birthday. We drove to Port Canaveral and parked at The Park Port Canaveral lot behind the Radisson Hotel, which was reserved online. The embarking was the best ever as was the disembarkation. We always carry our own luggage off the ship. Our cabin was 8384, a balcony cabin that was lovely. It had tons of storage and a large balcony that had comfortable chairs and a table. Our cabin attendant Lasta was the best ever and made sure that our room was cleaned twice a day. The food on the ship was delicious and again the best out of all of cruises. The variety of restaurants that were complimentary was amazing. My favorite was the steak and eggs on the last day brunch in the main dining room. Our waitress, Windy table 128 was excellent. She welcomed us by name and knew what we liked and disliked after the first day. Truly the friendliest. most respectful; and professional staff we have ever seen on a cruise line. We sound out the day of the cruise that we could have brought an 18 pack of soda on board. That would have been nice to have known. Ok now for the warning: the ventilation system on the ship doesn't appear to have been updated to remove cigarette smoke from the air. I suffer from asthma and could not attend the shows in the main theater due to the presence of smoke in the theater. The staff said that it was because of the proximity to the outside smoking and the casino. These were areas that I also, had to avoid. So, WARNING TO ASTHMA suffers...this is not a ship for you. Many areas smell of smoke and if it is something that sets off an asthma attack - then avoid this ship. Another younger passenger was having the same problem. We did feel that the ship was populated by a lot of young passengers (20's) that were there to drink and party. With that in mind I would not want any of my grandchildren on this ship. There were many x rated exhibitions by the revelers and the hot tubs were overrun by passionate couples. Guess I will have to stick with Princess and Royal Caribbean and Norwegian in the future. Cookie is an amazing entertainer! He is so talented! I was completely mesmerized by his talent at singing, dancing and the ability to rock the stadium! Cookie made the whole trip so much more fun! The most impressive aspect of this cruise was Cookie! I have never seen in person a man so talented!!! The customer services desk was average. I am not so so impressed. The room was right in the middle. The Flower Lobby was right down there. As there was entertainment till middle of the night, my cabin was very noise basically. We could not sleep. Word of advice: assign young folks to the rooms of this kind as young folks tend to stay up late. :) But I did went to help desk and asked for a different room. But all the rooms were booked. So I got some ear plugs, which worked. About the dinner assignment, we were assigned to a later hour (8:15PM). Again, it was too late for us. I asked for a different time. And finally got it after laborious efforts. Again, please assign younger folks to late dinners. Thank you, Overall, it was a good experience! Read Less

Quick getaway for us as we live in Florida. We are both retired, and drove to the port, parked at Lots of Honor, 1700 Sea Ray Drive, Merritt Island. Highly recommend this place, about $7.00/day, paved lot, professional employees. We were on the shuttle within ten minutes of arrival. After the cruise we walked a very short distance to their bus, boarded and were back to our car within fifteen minutes. Now THIS is service, folks! Maitre D was very pleasantly present, name Joge, from India. Not only Clark Gable handsome, but full of charm, humor and outgoing personality. DH is special needs regarding food, so Joge and his awesome assistant, Aliza, Philippines, were always checking on us, making sure he was happy with meals and service. Very grateful for their natural charm and individual attention. Entertainment was mediocre at best. No after dinner show at all Tuesday evening. American show Wednesday night was so loud and disconnected we bolted early. Cookie the CD was on the public address frequently. If you like loud, fast talking, this is your CD. Good clientele onboard. Not many children, not many of any one age group. Hot tubs were cool at 86 degrees. Tried Guy's Burgers, and they are delish BUT beware of greasy after effects. No lines, but everyone was gobbling them down along with the greasy fries. Chocolate buffet Wednesday was also very popular. Walking promenade near casino reminded me of the midway at a county fair. A gas mask would have made it tolerable. High level noise and lack of ventilation made this an area to avoid. Embarkation and debarkation were both smooth and efficient. No lines, no waiting. No shore excursions, stayed onboard. Been there done that. Read Less

Good time, oceans were a little rough. But the crew did an amazing job making sure everyone had a safe and fun time. Overnighted in Nassau due to a late arrival because of the weather. Comedians were great as usual, took in numerous shows and enjoyed them all. Guys Burger Joint was really good and moved very fast, even with the lines. The fries were great also. Dinning was normal Carnival fare. It does seem Carnival is cutting back on staff since the last cruise I was on. Fewer staff in the Dining room, not sure if this was due to the party size being smaller than in the past. Our stateroom wasn't serviced as often as I remembered in the past. It was still kept clean, but some of the smaller touches were missing. That's about all I have for this Cruise, Have fun and enjoy yourself On the Liberty. Read Less

I went on my very first cruise for the 40th birthday and while I was very excited about the aspect of going on my first cruise it was not at all what I expected. The weather was horrible making almost impossible to enjoy the lido deck, various cruisers threw up all over the boat and in the dining hall making the smell very unpleasant and u appealing while your trying eat. While the staff was very friendly and courteous the boat itself lacked some pizzazz. They overcharged me for the price of one beer while I tipped everyone in cash they still charged me $10 for a beer and with the tip came out to $13. And as the weather was not pleasant it made disembarkation into the Bahamas almost impossible, as we didn’t get to the Bahamas until after 1pm stating we could sleep over and not board until the next day. Whereas we could only stay in the Bahamas for a few hours due to the huge embassy warning of being put in the Bahamas after dark. The food was very good and the staff was excellent but it was very disorganized. Hopefully it will not deter me from cruising again. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we like cruising and have done all our cruising on Carnival in the past, so this was an easy choice for some relaxation. But very poor room service, toilet was dirty, second day we had to call for towels; and last day at sea the room was not cleaned at all nor were towels provided, ridiculous! Never saw the cabin steward. And the worst incident was coming back from Freeport, I was wanded down and apparently moved my hand a little, the guy came across with his wand so hard he broke my fingernail. When I stated that to him, he screamed at me - "You need to stand perfectly still!" And don't waste your time or money on the Carnival HUB app, it doesn't work. We didn't bother to get internet, most folks we talked to said it didn't work.Very sad, it will be a while before we travel on Carnival again, if at all. Read Less

My wife and I are part of a group that plays softball in Freeport and Nassau every year. Last year we cruised on this same ship, the Carnival Liberty, the same month last year. Last year I was very impressed by this ship including the dining, activities, room, etc. We have cruised about 20 times and Carnival was not high on our list, but last year's Carnival Liberty left a good impression. Not so this year, the food in the Dining Room was subpar to say the least. Besides the Flat Iron steak the entrees were mediocre at best. And the appetizers! The "scallops" consisted of 3 dime sized pieces about a quarter in thick. Since everyone got the exact same size and shape, I have to believe they were not scallops. Even bay scallops are larger. The Ahi tuna consisted of 3 1-1/2 inch strips - you'd have to order 4 to get a real appetizer. The room was nice. But why a credit card to open the safe? I want to lock up my card. Actually we did use my wife's Funpass or whatever it's called and it worked (Shhh!) The ship as before was difficult to get around and very noisy. I must say 5 stars to our waiter Edi and his assistant waitress (I know - not politically correct) but I forgot her name. Edi help me out here. Read Less

Disembarkation - an unorganized mess; couldn't find customers items purchased at port; didn't package Duty FREE items appropriately for boarding plane, although they said our items were ok for travel. CABIN - OK for slumber after a day and night of drinking so you do not notice the mattresses need replacing DINING - WOW, the worst. How would you like to be served burgers, pizza and ice cream daily. Real cuisine seafood platters, snow crabs, shrimp, sushi and alike all cost extra. You couldn't even get a daily salad bar and fruit bar. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. ENTERTAINMENT and ACTIVITIES - no frills;FUN SHOPS opening organized for ship photo ops, not customer satisfaction SERVICE - my room attendant was great. PORTS and SHORE EXCURSIONS - FREEPORT and ATLANTIS BAHAMAS were both wonderful places to port; Freeport is the best! I have traveled on MSC and will travel with them again; I DO NOT PLAN TO TRAVEL on CARNIVAL LIBERTY AGAIN. Read Less
