Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

We left Mahwah NJ at 11:15AM in the midst of the snow storm, our limo driver sliding up and down the hills in our neighborhood in 5 inches of snow. As we got closer to NY City, the roads had more slush and less snow. There was absolutely no traffic at all at the Washington Bridge, probably the first time in my life I've ever seen that. It took about an hour to make the normally 45 minute ride, ...

It was a fun-filled activities trip. Entertainment The entertainment was very enjoyable and very well prepared. We attended most of the theater events and the shows were of very good quality. I liked that it offered 2 different times to attend. Comedian was super funny and the acrobatic Duo a must see...mesmerizing. My son liked the Nick slime time. Food Food was very good in the ...

Background Information: This was my first cruise. I'm a single mother traveling with my 5 year old daughter and booked this 30 days out. Embarkation -- I took Metro-North to Grand Central Terminal. We took a cab from there, leaving about 10:00. It was about a $20 cab ride including tip, largely because we were stuck in lots of traffic going into and out of the port. My cab driver seemed a ...

Let me start out by saying that I cruised with the NCL Gem in May 2011 and had an awesome experience. We chose to book on the Jewel because we thought we would get the same service and quality. Unfortunately we were wrong. Hotel info: We stayed at the Westin Times Square which we loved. Very central to everything in the city. Rates were reasonable. We paid less than $10 for a cab to the ...

This was our fourth NCL cruise and first time on the lovely Jewel. We drove to the NYC port terminal and parked right next to the ship...easy coming and going. We arrived at 11:00AM and boarded at 11:30AM. By 11:45AM we were eating lunch in the Tsar's Main Dining Room. We skipped the buffet and wanted to be waited on as soon as we got on board. Staff- The best on the seas. They were so much ...

This was our twelfth cruise, and our seventh on NCL. However, prior to the Jewel, we had only been on NCL weekend cruises to nowhere. If you are thinking about NCL, these little weekend cruises are perfect to whet your appetite. Our first full length cruise on NCL did not disappoint, and we hope to make the Jewel in January a yearly tradition. Embarkation: Embarkation in New York City on ...

Hello All - Here are my thoughts on cruise! This was our first cruise and we really had a great time. It was my husband, myself, and our 4 year old son on the trip. We drove to the port from Albany and with our GPS we had no problems at all. Traffic was not a problem at all until we got to the port where it was very congested since the gem and the jewel were both going out that day. ...

This was my second time traveling on the Jewel and I have to say this experience has out-shined the first experience (which was in January 2011). Embarkation was unbelievably efficient. Traveling with my Mother who required extra assistance, we were whisked to the boarding area seamlessly. However, even without assistance, I did notice that clearing security and check-in for others seemed ...

We booked our cruise with Norwegian with no problems and found most of our questions were accurate and most helpful. We arrived at the pier around 11am and boarded around 11:50ish. (they did let us on 10 min. early) Check in was absolutely seamless. I had planned on an overhaul being my first time, (no passports.. went with birth certs) and we sailed right through. Nice start! Following up ...

We enjoyed the Jewel. The staff, cleanliness, food, entertainment was overall great. The itinerary, weather and crazy fellow passengers were sometimes challenging. Staff The staff was great. A Washy-washy lady at the restaurants spraying disinfectant on your hands in a very friendly manner to ensure cleanliness was appreciated. The room was kept nice and drink & food service was timely. The ...
