Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Just finished a cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. I was very disappointed in some of the changes that have taken place on since I last cruised with NCL (5 years ago on the Pearl). My family and I took the Jewel on an Alaska cruise from Seattle on May 23. The embarkation in Seattle (pier 66) is awful, to small of an area for so many people to try to embark at almost the same time, took us well ...

The cruise to Alaska was great and i would probably go again sometime down the line...but i don't think it would be with Norwegian. I appreciated the ability to dine whenever you wanted, the staff were not aggressively pushing products, and the dress/attire was more casual. We also liked that the crowd was more laid back and less rowdy then those you would find on Royal Caribbean and Carnival. ...

Alaska is beautiful and cruising with NCL was the best decision ever! Traveled with my husband and had a balcony room on the 9th floor right before the aft facing rooms. Was a good walk from the elevators but was a good thing for us as we ate alot and never visited the gym. The walk was very much needed after all the eating we did. The room location was great with respect to no disturbance, ...

7 day Alaskan Cruise

This was my first cruise experience and it was seriously amazing! We flew in a day early so we wouldn't have to worry about missing the ship (which was good because we were delayed numerous times in our flights). Taking two toddlers thru check in to board ship was a bit crazy and the girl messed up our information so we were there a bit longer then other passengers but it wasn't to horrible of a ...

This is my review of our cruise vacation on the NCL Jewel to Alaska. This is simply my opinion and nothing more. The ship – The NCL Jewel is a part of their jewel class of ships. We have been on a couple of NCL ships with a very similar layout. We found the interior of this ship to be well maintained, very clean. The exterior, however, was just the opposite. This was our 10th cruise with ...

Amazing Alaska, Ordinary Norwegian

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

This was our third cruise, second time on Norwegian. First time we thought they were superb, but the Norwegian Jewel seems a bit tired and ordinary. The fake flowers all over the dining area were sad. Staff was excellent, and worked hard. The food was often cold and that was true in every dining venue that we tried. On the first trip we took the ultimate dining package...this time we ...

We've done 2 cruises before, but this was the first to Alaska and it will not be the last. The ports, excursions, and itinerary were all awesome. We stayed one night in Seattle before boarding. We had a Haven room which far exceeded any expectations. The Courtyard Valet, in particular, was awesome.... all of the crew. With Haven we got priority boarding and disembarkation making going ashore ...

Haven Alaska

1st Alaskan cruise, weather was unseasonably warm, and dry. Seas were as smooth as glass. Stayed in a haven suite. Embarkation was super easy, as we were escorted thru the lines, and to a sitting area to do our paperwork. We were then escorted for lunch in Moderno. Our rooms were ready at 1:00pm. Room was very nice, furniture recovered, and new rugs, no more bright "jewel" colors, more muted, ...

This was our 5th Cruise, our first with NCL and our first to Alaska. Although the embarkation was a bit of a faf and disorganised in Seattle this did not detract from the overall cruise experience. The picture window cabin was very comfortable and more than adequate for the amount of time we spent in it. The staff were very friendly and we loved the free style dining and variety of Restaurants ...

Fun trip with perfect weather

Second cruise with NCL first on the Jewel. Planned the trip only 4 months in advance and was surprised that there were still suites available. Flew in to Seattle the night before to spend the day with family that live out that way, love that the port is right downtown! Tons to see and do so if you have the time to plan a day before or after I would highly recommend it. For being a 10 year old ...
