Worst Cruise Ever

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

The Crown Princess should not have sailed. Princess committed fraud knowing that this ship was failing mechanically. We spent a lot of money to not make it to one port after losing two engines and have all other ports at only 4-5 hours a piece. The Alaska cruise that didn't really see Alaska. The food was meh. The ship was outdated. We had failing HVAC on a balcony and luke warm water at ...

Scheduled maintenance during peak season? Seriously?

This was my first cruise as part of a large extended family group, some of whom had made this cruise before. A month ago, Princess notified us the stop at Ketchikan was cancelled and our first stop would be Juneau. Turns out that the ship had "scheduled maintenance" and one of its diesel engines would not be running which limited ship speed. We got to Juneau too late to do most of the scheduled ...

Disappointment

This was my first Princess cruise and it was a disappointment. The Crown Princess is an older ship that needs repairs. They had an engine out so the ship moved slower than usual, which caused us to have less time at Junea. A lot of the excursions were closed because we got to Junea in the evening. And we totally missed stopping at Icy Straight. I stayed on the 11th floor and there was a strong ...

My mother and father in law took us on this dream Family vacay (16 of us). It was such a disappointing trip. The crew was nice but the ship was old and broken resulting in cancelled ports and excursions. Our time in ports was mostly at night for limited hours. We didn’t see any of Alaska. Excursions were cancelled and we seemed stuck at sea with no fun activities to fill our time. The food was ...

The ship had engine maintenance going on so it was slower than usual. We missed one port ( Ketchikan) . The replaced it with Icy straight Point and then cancelled this stop. Then the working engine had problems resulting in the ship being late arriving in Juneau. As a result, we missed our whale watching excursion. The crew and staff were excellent. We enjoyed all of the entertainment and ...

My Recent Princess Cruise Experience Booking #2CMH8R

Let's start with the obvious. I know we were changed a long time ago from the Emerald Princess to the Crown Princess. I was also made aware that Ketchikan was changed to Icy Strait Point. What I didn't expect was for these changes to be only the start of a pretty rough experience as a first time cruiser with Princess Cruises. I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am in Princess and the ...

We originally booked this cruise in 2019 to go in June 2020. It was cancelled. We took the option to rebook in June 2021 and get 25% cruise credit. It was cancelled. We were determined and actually chose to rebook in June 2022. We got to go. The Crown Princess has a powerplant shut down, so it's operating at 80%. We didn't find out until past the cancellation period. This issue caused them to ...

dream cruise crushed by bad planning

We have been frequent Royal Caribbean cruisers and wanted to try something different. We thought Princess might fill the bill. Alaska was on the bucket list and whale watching was at the top. The cruise we booked included stops in Juneau, Whittier, Ketchikan, Icy Strait, Victoria BC, Skagway and Glacier Bay. Our excursions included 2 whale watching tours, and the Glacier tour with clambake. ...

Cancelled port of calls and late arrivals did not allow time to enjoy all the port activities.

We took a Princes cruise years back and enjoyed it so much, we wanted to do it again. We thought it would be interesting to see the iceberg impact from global warming too. We love the outdoors and nature in general. Alaska is a great place to experience that. The food quality was seriously lower than our prior cruise. It was very disappointing. It was great to se Lu p crab cakes on the menu for ...

Still loyal and love Princess, BUT, here's the scoop, with tons of tips

Booked 6/3 "Drop and Go" for 6/11 Seattle RT on the Crown. Only after booking did I read the tons of negative reviews. Here's the scoop people: Pro: it's still an Alaska cruise on Princess. Stellar shows, crew, food, kids clubs, everything you have come to expect from Princess. Con: you know when a car has some issue that causes it to be in "limp home" mode? Meaning, it'll still ...
