We went on our 1st cruise with Princess on our honeymoon and wanted to renew our vows on our 30 th Anniversary with Princess again. The service we experienced the 1st time was the deciding factor to use princess the second time around. Our best friends accompanied us. We arrived in Greece two days before we sailed and got to see the sites of Athens. When we arrived at the port we found it was very easy to check in and board the ship. Once on board we were able to go to room very quickly and get settled. We then got word that Francesca wanted to meet with us to go over the itinerary of our vow renewal. On the day we renewed We started off with a couples massage in the spa. It was pretty relaxing and set the mood for the entire day. The ceremony itself with nothing short of spectacular. The chapel was decorated accordingly and corsage and bouquet were supplied by the ship. It was part of the package I know it was but you still say i we started off with a couples massage in the spa. It was pretty relaxing and set the mood for the entire day. The ceremony itself with nothing short of spectacular. The chapel was decorated accordingly and corsage and bouquet were supplied by the ship. After the ceremony that was performed by Captain Lawes we had a photographer and a videographer follow us for our camera shoot. The captain even allowed us to go onto the bridge where we got some great shots and video. The ENTIRE experience is one I will never forget. Read Less

The ship is not one of their newer ships but I would still sail on it again. Bedding was very comfortable. The food and service was very good and could be compared to any very good restaurant in NYC. Entertainment was exceptional and always tied in with the city we visited. Loved the idea that they had two sides to the decks outside. One side showed movies and movies under the stars at night each night and the other side was for live entertainment you could then choose. Loved the idea that they were showing up to date movies. I was excited to see that they have zumba class and thoroughly enjoyed it and so did many other passengers that class was well attended! There was lots to do on sea days so they were just as enjoyable as days in the city it made for a very enjoyable trip. Embarkation and debarkation was orderly and easy. I traveled with my Son 19, my Nieces 18 & 14 and they had a great time! Read Less

We travel with Princess frequently and picked this cruise because we could celebrate our golden wedding anniversary during the cruise. The itinerary was similar to the cruise we took 10 years ago, with a few different stops. We did the traditional dining and had a wonderful time with the 3 other couples at our table. The ship was in great shape and we had upgraded to a full suite which was a wonderful experience. The food at the Crown Grill was fantastic. The food at the traditional dining was good, but the beef was not as tender as it has been on past cruises. Entertainment and activities were very good, especially the audience participation activities. The excursion packages were good - the one negative was that 3 days in a row the excursion ended at a time that did not allow us to eat at the early sitting of traditional dining. This could be fixed by either starting the excursion earlier or reducing the free time on the excursion. When you book the excursion prior to the cruise you do not have the times. We spent 3 days in Barcelona before getting on the ship - this was a great idea. We were well rested and in the right time zone before we embarked. This was our 5th Princess cruise and they are the best big ship cruise line in my opinion, especially for adults. Read Less

We chose this cruise as friends had booked and we wanted to join them. We had only done 1 cruise before, and it was 5 star, with 210 passengers. People told us not expect the same but we were pleasantly surprised, we loved it! From the time we checked in to embark it was efficiency plus. This is a well oiled machine. We were not cruising to sit on the deck on a lounger in the hot sun and didn't get into our swimsuits even once. We were there for the offshore visits and to return to a lovely cool air-conditioned ship. We were wined, dined, entertained, and in bed about 11pm! The dining was exceptionally good which again was unexpected. the cleanliness of the boat, the service, the staff, 99 percent were fantastic. The shows reminded us of trips to Las Vegas. We had organised and pre paid all our offshore excursions from home, which took several hours and isn't something you want to do on the boat when you would missing out on valuable entertainment time. Also some tours booked out. The tours were very efficiently run, the organisation on this boat was impressive and the room mail deliveries critical for communication of all activities and other ship notices. There might have been 3000 guests on this boat but we didn't ever see most of them! A lot are by the pool..... Read Less

Having travelled before both on Celebrity Cruises and Holland America Line it's not easy to find cruiseships and itineraries that might excite us. It was the second time we travelled with Princess and we enjoyed as much as the first time. The ship's decoration is older, still everything is very well taken care of. The cabin (interior) had the same usual size as we've seen in other cruise ships. The dining options are great (although Celebrity Cruises has a superb gastronomy offer) since they also offer " anytime dining". Times in ports of call are definitely the great advantage of Princess Cruises, comparing to other companies. Princess allows passengers to use both Jacuzzis and Pools by night, until cinema sessions of "Movies Under The Stars" end, around 11 pm. Many passengers watch the movies while at the jacuzzi, which is a very interesting possibility. Popcorn and blankets are also provided during cinema sessions. Only weak point was the entertainment. Apart of the "Movies Under The Stars" cinema option, most entertainment is only focused on older couples and non-european tourists. The service quality is similar to Celebrity Cruises. Considering the price and the overall experience, it's a great option for both new and experienced cruise travellers. Read Less

We picked the Mediterranean as a destination for the history and the variety. Our kids (19 and 17) love Roman and Greek history and mythology. This was a great way for our family to have a trip before both kids head off to college in the fall. We went with my sister-in-law and a family friend (making our party 6 in total). We boarded in Barcelona for a two week cruise to Rome and Athens. We flew in on the red eye from Atlanta to Barcelona, arriving the day of departure at 8:30am. We found the Princess transportation in the airport easily and had a lovely coach ride to the port. Embarkation went smoothly and we got onboard easily. Three of us took the Hop On Hop Off bus tour of Barcelona which was easy to get to by taxi at the Columbus Statue just outside the port. The ship left around 9:00pm so there was plenty of time to explore port and ship before we left the dock. The Cabin we had was a Premium Balcony at the back of the ship. The steward was fantastic and took great care of us.The bathroom was a typically small space and very utilitarian (the towels were thick and soft). There is not much shelf space but tons of hanging space in the closet. The safe is a reasonable room safe to easily store documents and jewelry. The beds were very comfortable! The Mediterranean was a very calm smooth ocean and we did not notice any pitch or roll - even on the nights we passed a few thunderstorms. The kids were in an interior cabin and found it a comfortable space (akin to their dorm room at college). We used the shipboard laundromat and that helped us cut down on the volume of clothing. The washers and dryers were utilitarian but did the trick. $3 for a wash cycle, $3 for a dry cycle and $1.50 each for laundry soap and softener (we brought our own). Princess has a laundry service but does not offer a laundry special as we have seen on Hawaiian and other Caribbean long cruises. Dinners were in the DaVinci Dining Room and were a pleasure. The menu was varied with some standard fare and regional options to allow a taste of regional cuisine. The Waiter and Assistant Waitress were wonderful!! Other meals were varied; we made use of the buffet, in-room breakfast, the Deckside dining in the pool areas (the pizza is New York style and not great, but the hot dogs and hamburgers were some of the best we have had on a cruise ship). We did not use the two specialty restaurants. If you are going to eat ashore, ask the Dining room staff if they have any recommendations the head waiter in our dining room had good suggestions. The cruise we were on had a Destination Specialist - Angela Kelly. She was great and gave port talks. If you could not attend the talk, it was televised to watch at a later time. The talks were not a sales pitch for excursions as we have seen on other cruises , but genuinely interesting morsels of history and sites in the area. Angela gave information on approximate costs of taxis and other transportation, things to see in port and surrounding areas, things tourists might not know (validate tickets on trains/buses to avoid fines) and reminders of personal safety in areas so as to have a good trip and make reasonable decisions. I hope Princess expands this program - it was great and VERY helpful to us. We planned most of our excursions on our own in order to see as much as we could of the items we were interested in. We did one Shore Excursion through Princess (the Minoan ruins at Heraklion) and were pleasantly surprised to find it included a meal (we thought we would have to grab something along the way as the information was not clear on this point). The Excursion was well organised and very professional. We were disappointed in the Entertainment this cruise. There was only one entertainer we felt was truly good (a violinist that we went to every show he had) the other entertainment was marginal at best. We have seen better people rejected from America's/Britain's Got Talent. Some things for American cruisers to remember: There is a dress code for dining in the dining rooms (please don't wear your swim things or shorts, it looks tacky). Air Conditioning in the Mediterranean is more of a suggestion than a reality and in August it is really HOT - drink plenty of water (we brought refillable bottles which were a godsend). We would go again! This cruise is was an amazing experience and we did not see all we were interested in on the trip so I anticipate a return trip in our future. Read Less

We and another couple took this cruise to see a large number of places as a first visit. We briefly explored Rome for 4 days prior to joining the ship. The embarkation and disembarkation was seamless. We booked a transfer from the ship to the airport to fly home - again was extremely smooth. Our cabin had a balcony - it was used a number of times - entering/leaving port, watching the coast as we sailed along, and just getting some sun. We opted for fixed traditional dinning. The food was the best food we have had on any cruise ship. The wait staff were attentive and fun to be with. The entertainment was good with many exceptional performances. We enjoyed the comedians the most. The house band was very good and we enjoyed the song & dance performances. We typically had shore excursions during the day and became tired after dinner - we rarely stayed up late. I enjoyed the astronomy introduction - some of the ship's lighting was reduced to facilitate seeing the stars and 5 planets - Venus, Earth, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter. The ship's staff had a mixture of recorded audio and live discussion. The cabin staff was attentive, efficient and very interested in what we were going to do each day. We were consistently treated as valued guests - any request was handled very quickly. All but 3 of the excursions were provided by Princess. They were well done, but some of the descriptions of the excursions and reality did not match. Comments were submitted to ship's excursion staff and were acknowledged promptly. In one case a partial refund was made. Read Less

For the onboard staff and crew, I have nothing but praise. We also had 14 days of sunny skies and a sea like glass. It was almost eerie that it was so calm. This was true across all ports we visited in Greece, Italy, and Barcelona. We didn't find out until we got on the ship that the popular 2 for 1 happy hours had been eliminated on most (if not all) Princess cruises.. This really angered a lot of passengers and was a quick way to get a heated bashing of Princess going just about anywhere on the ship. This problem was caused by the Princess Corporation and not the ship. They seem to put more priority on selling their drink package vice guest preferences. This was a complete policy failure on their part. We did not buy that package and will not buy it in the future. On formal night they served lobster, but whatever they served looked more like crawdad. It was another major area of complaint in all dining rooms. Again, this was not caused by the ship but rather th company buyers for the product. Another failure for Princess apparently trying to save money. I felt sorry for the waiters who had to field all of the complaints they got. On the second half of this cruise when lobster was served, we bypassed it completely. The ports of call were fabulous, and we had no real complaints on them. Other than the above, this was probably the best one we have done out of 8 cruises in various parts of the world. Read Less

Excellent cruise for 3 weeks across Mediterranean. Wonderful service, easy embarkation and disembarkation. Everything ran smoothly. The service in the dining area and the sky lounge was excellent. The ship was clean, the food was good and there were a variety of types of food from which to select. The excursions we chose were well guided for the most part. The only two negative comments pertain to the maitre 'd's control of the dining room and the entertainment. The dining room is set to open for late service at 8;00 p.m. Most people waited. However, there were some who just wandered in and took their places up to 15 minutes before opening and there was no one at the maitre 'd desk to stop them. Another annoyance were those diners who felt that an 8:00 p.m.; seating meant 8:30 or even as late as 9:00. This puts an extra burden on the servers and the kitchen, and keeps them far later into the night than proper. After all, by 6:00 a.m. they are all at work again. Furthermore, casual dress should not include overly tight clothing or short shorts on women, or tee shirts, shorts, flip flops and sandals on men. This isn't Carnival Cruises. The entertainment was thin and weak. Most of the time the Wheelhouse Bar, formerly my favorite place to sit and enjoy music, ran music videos on a large screen. The talent offered was sketchy or just plain bad. There were few shows, most of them repeats for us from prior cruises. Read Less

My wife and I are in our 50s and we’ve been on 17 cruises (7 Royal Caribbean, 4 Celebrity, 4 Princess, 1 Holland America, 1 Norwegian). This was our second Mediterranean cruise. This trip was an anniversary trip. Our trip started with a flight on Lufthansa out of Chicago O’Hare with a stop in Munich (We love this airport) and then on to Athens for a couple days pre-cruise. We flew roundtrip on Lufthansa but took a detour from Barcelona post cruise to Paris for three days on Joon Air which is a new “modern discount airline” from Air France. We enjoyed all flights. Hotels: In Athens we stayed at the Herodian Hotel. This was a pleasant surprise. It’s a boutique hotel literally 987 meters from the Acropolis. Our room faced the Acropolis and was large and modern. The room included breakfast which was a traditional Euro/American buffet style. I’ll post pictures with this review. The staff was welcoming and even left us a nice note welcoming us and congratulating us on our 25th wedding anniversary along with some Greek crackers. In Paris we stayed at the Hilton Paris Opera. This was another nice surprise. Its located near the Galleries Lafayette and Printemps Department store. The hotel is located only 15-20 minutes from all the major Paris historical spots. Close enough to get to and far enough from the center that you aren’t paying for location. The staff here were also fantastic. We are Hilton Honors members and chose to stay on the Executive Floor. For our anniversary, the Hilton upgraded us to a corner large spacious room that had a large bathroom with heated floors. I highly recommend staying at both hotels. The Ship: This was our second voyage of Crown. The first was in 2008. We enjoyed Crown back then but felt the public spaces were crowed and entertainment was terrible. Crown post drydock is so much better. The décor is just as we remembered and there is a much better use of space. Entertainment is now top notch and matches our experiences on Regal. We have never been fans of production shows, but I have to say that the new Encore show on Crown was spectacular. Embarkation: We took a cab from the Herodian Hotel (20 euros) to the port of Piraeus. At embarkation we arrived at the Piraeus Cruise Port at around 11:30am. The port was not too crowded, and we were able to check in quite fast…or so we thought. Here was the one negative experience. After the Princess Rep took our passports and all other pertinent information she went to get our room keys….and couldn’t find them. She asked us to wait and she would contact someone to get them. We thought this was odd as it has never happened before. Well, we waited 20 minutes, and no one came to give us our key cards. I finally spoke with an officer who checked and said that there was no request for our keys. After another 20 minutes we were finally given our keys and were headed on the ship. This was the one blip on a spectacular cruise. I mentioned the dry dock earlier. The dry dock included some very nice updates. Stateroom: Our Cabin on Caribe Deck 10 Midship (C419) has been updated. We love this location because all the cabins on this deck have nice deep balconies. All staterooms on Crown have been updated with the Princes Luxury Bed. Let me tell you….it’s luxurious!! We usually sleep well on cruises, but this bed was sooo comfortable. Also, our Room Steward Donna was very attentive and efficient. The pool area updated one bar (MIX) formerly Mermaids and split up the pizza and burger stations. Prego is now Slice and has Stromboli and deep-dish focaccia. Still the best pizza at sea IMHO. The Sundays Ice Cream Bar is now attached to slice and is called Coffee and Cones. The best pool area upgrade is a remake of the Trident Grill. It’s now The Salty Dog Grill (a Salty Dog Gastro Pub has been added inside the Wheelhouse Bar). This is absolutely the best deck food at sea. You can get a burger or chicken sandwich, fries, bacon cheese or chili cheese), all beef hotdogs, and chipotle lime chicken tacos (my personal new go-to deck food!). Other upgrades on Crown include Club Class mini-suites (We didn’t meet anyone who stayed in one) and the shops onboard have upgraded clothing and merchandise. Dining: We always enjoy the Princess main dining room food. The voyage was no different. As part of the anniversary package we purchased, we ate at Sabatini’s (located on deck 16) which is one of our favorite specialty restaurants. We were joined by our main dining table mates who were also celebrating their anniversary. Our server was fantastic!! He was personable and informative. When we told him it was our table mates anniversary, he stopped what he was doing and proceeded to bring out a cake for them! This topped off a wonderful filling meal of traditional Italian food. As an aside, the anniversary package also included champagne and chocolates in our stateroom, a chocolate cake served at the meal of our choice, a sign and balloons on our door and a picture of our choice with a nice frame. Well worth it! Our breakfasts were eaten mostly in the Horizon Court Buffet which seems to have gotten smaller bit the food is still decent. Breakfast as all you expect plus an omelet station (you order and they give you a ticket that you hand to a server who brings a freshly cooked omelet to you. I love that they hand you your napkin and silverware as you enter the food section and a server brings you drinks. Entertainment: Entertainment is throughout the ship and has been upgraded. Our Cruise Director Fernando got on the ship when we did and he never missed a beat. This cruise was during the group stage of the Word Cup and a schedule of all games with viewing locations were in each Princess Patter. Musical entertainment was very diverse and all over the ship. There was plenty to see and do each night. There was of course MUTS which showed movies, concerts and soccer games throughout the voyage. Ports and Shore Excursions: Athens: While this was the embarkation point, we had a day and half to visit the Acropolis, eat some great Greek food and walk around the Plaka. I’d spend one or two more days here next time. Santorini: This is a tender port. We took a ship excursion that included a stop at Santo Winery where we sampled Greek wine, cheese, olives and enjoyed the views of the ship and the island. Then we went to Oia which is the village with all the blue domed roofs. What a place! Spectacular views. After Oia we went to Fira which is the village where you get back to ship by walking down 588 steps to the tender area, riding on a donkey or our personal choice, taking the gondola down. We shopped and ate a traditional Greek lunch with a view of the Aegaeon Sea. The tour ended here, and we were on our own to get back to the ship. Kotor, Montenegro (Tender stop): Very old city which you arrive sailing through a fjord for 3 hours. I was up at 5:30am filming the entry…We were pleasantly surprised by this port and just took the tender and walked the old city on our own. Messina (Sicily): We used Joe Banana Tours for this port. The tour we chose was the Godfather Tour. We shared a van with others from CC and visited Castelmola, a hill town above Taormina with views of Mt. Etna and the sea (it was overcast so no views), Savoca which is a local town made famous by Godfather II, Forza d’Agro a medieval town and then Taormina. I highly recommend using Joe Banana tours while in Sicily. Naples: For this port we used Romeinlimo Tours. Once again, we shared a van with others from CC. Our driver, Alex met us at the port and took us on a ride through the Amalfi Coast to Positano where were enjoyed the views and walked the streets of the wonderful city on a hill. From Positano we went to Sorrento where we had a fantastic lunch, walked along the streets, shopped and sampled limoncello. After Sorrento, Alex took us to Herculaneum. Herculaneum was a resort town not far from Pompeii which is smaller and better preserved due to its closeness to Mt. Vesuvius. RomeinLimo is one of our favorite tour companies and also highly recommend them. We Disembarked in Barcelona. This was the most organized disembarkation we’ve had. We pre-purchased transfers to the airport and were on our way to Paris! This was a phenomenal cruise. We can’t wait to sail on Princess again and look forward to planning our next Med Cruise!! I chose this cruise for the itinerary. It was a 7 night Mediterranean cruise beginning in Athens Greece ending in Barcelona, Spain. We were a group of 4 adults. However, we were overwhelmed by the outstanding service on the ship. We booked our first mini suite club class cabin and received some extra perks. We were able to embark without delay but it seemed like the regular lines were moving quickly and smoothly. Upon arrival in our cabin, we were greeted with a glass of champagne from our cabin steward. The cabin also included a small bottle of white and red wine for our cabin. The best part of the cruise was the excellent service in the dining room. Our servers were kind, knowledgeable and very pleasant. Their recommendations were always on point. They even gave us advice on the areas we visited. We booked all of our tours privately so I have no knowledge of the excursions. Princess should be very proud of their staff. After the cruise we extended our stay in Barcelona for two nights. On the morning of our departure, a representative from Princess came to the hotel to make sure we got our transfer. (This was 2 1/2 days after our cruise ended) Also at the airport, we were met by two Princess representatives who escorted us to our check-in area. I've been on many cruises and this was a first. I would highly recommend this ship and look forward to another Princess cruise. Read Less

Princess provided great service for the Sea Days as well Although there were a few moments when the boat was too shaky, it was entertaining majority of the time. There were consistent events provided for the passengers so they wouldn’t get bored on the ship. There was not a single moment that was uncomfortable during our stay and we would love to return again. Read Less

we chose this cruise for its itinerary. we boarded in Civitavecchia and disembarked in Barcelona 2 weeks later. from the get-go, we noticed that the crew was extremely courteous, friendly and attentive. the food quality was good-excellent especially in the main dining room and at the specialty restaurant, sabatini's; and, there was a wide range of vegetarian and gluten-free choices on the menus. we had been to many of these ports many times before, so it became a challenge to find something new to explore. 1. at Mykonos, we took an excursion to the island of Delos. Excellent. 2. at Santorini, i took the donkey path down (25 minutes and shaky knees). one off the bucket list. 3. at Piraeus/Athens, we paid 4.5 euros for a 24 hour any means of transportation ticket. look for the X80 stand about 100 meters from the terminal. we used these tickets to ride to and from Athens and to use the metro to get around in Athens. we also visited the Acropolis Museum (5 euros). a must-see. second one off the bucket list. 4. an excellent value is the hop on hop off bus in Kotor. a party of 2 pays 20 euros each; however, the 3rd person in your party pays only 10 euros; and, maybe even less for the 4th and so on. you can try to bargain with the ticket seller. for our party of 3, the average cost was about 17 euros; and, we got a ride to Risan with admission to the mosaic museum, a ride to Perast and admission to the maritime museum and a guided tour of Kotor. you can't beat this as the cruise ship cost or taxi fare would be about $150 or 100 euros. for 5 euros, you can have a boat ride to the island of the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. beautiful views of this island from Perast. We chose to do a 6 week cruise package as coming from Australia it is to far to come for just 2 or 3 weeks. As far as my husband and I are concerned we enjoyed our time onboard the Crown Princess we found it a much better ship than the Golden which we were on last year.. The staff were always helpful and we felt that they represented Princess Cruise Line very well...Our cabin steward was a delight and always ready to help in anyway. The entertainment was top class especially the Crown Princess singers and dancers. and as we were on for 6 weeks we did see repeat shows, but never bored. We did have one hiccup with a Princess excursion, but that was sorted out to our satisfaction. The Mediterranean has to be one of the best cruises as the weather was sunny and warm and the seas calm. We were lucky enough to be in the top 40 passenger couples for the Captain's Circle parties. so that in its self was a real bonus... Yes we enjoyed this cruise and liked the layout of the ship. This is a lovely ship but not the pride of the fleet, with so many new ships coming in to service the crown lacks a main atrium area, the atrium at present is to small. And the layout of the ship is very poor ,the general areas are confusing to access from the lifts and stairs mainy times you are doubling back on yourself to go from a to b.The cruise was a sightseeing cruise with mainy American,Australian Canadian, and Japanese passengers,so the ship was empty during the day so there was plenty of sun beds etc.We found the food in the Michelangelo restaurant excellent very good with any time dining, service was very good and attentive, horizon court was busy all the time but you could find a table if you looked hard enough. The crown grill was exceptional at 29 dollars each well worth it for a special occasion. Our room was an inside cabin that was kept immaculate by our room steward towels changed 3times a day.Entertainment was I am sorry to say was rather poor David Copperfield was disappointing ,the chap in crooners bar was very good but only 2or 3 shows in the main theatre .The staff are excellent the cruise was excellent the food was exceptional the entertainment was disappointing so over all we would give the cruise a 90 out 100 Read Less

We chose this cruise because we love Princess Cruises and we have sailed on the Crown Princess before. We have also sailed on a 14 day Mediterranean cruise but we wanted to experience new ports and this 21 day cruise afforded us 9 new ports we had never been to. So we jumped at the chance to take it. We went to 2 new ports in France, Marseille and Touloune, we went to Corsica, we went to 2 new ports in Italy, Livorno and Salerno, we went to Dubrovnik,Croatia which we really wanted to see, and we went to Olympia Greece. Other other three reasons we went on this cruise is because it included the ports of, Barcelona, Spain, Mykonos, and Santerini, Greece. We also picked this ship because it was going to be coming out of a three week dry dock rehab period to freshen up the ship with new carpeting, bedding, venues, painting, and branding. The ship was sparkling fresh and new. Read Less

We chose this ship based on a recommendation from a family member who loves Crown Princess. We loved the itinerary and the spacing of the 3 sea days as well as the ports of call. Everything with this cruise eithe rmet or seriously exceeded our expectations. We flew into the departing port of Barcelona and arrived at 9:00am Sunday morning 4/15/18. Had 2 full days/nights in Barcelona before boarding ship on Tuesday. We arrived at the pier at 1:00pm and were in our room with all of our luggage, saying hello to our room steward, Reymond. Very easy embarkation. We did have a Club Class Mini Suite which included priority embarkation but I believe we were just checked in with the rest of the passengers and we all breezed through checkin together. The ship was gorgeous and very clean. Everything was so pretty and it looked like a luxury ship. The beautiful atrium....the pool decks, the shops and dining rooms/restaurants all were wonderful. Our cabin was lovely...deck 9, mid ship. Very stable and quiet room. D417. Since it was a mini suite, we had plenty of room with new luxury bed/linens, a nice big bathtub and a big living room area. We had nice new carper, new wall furnishings around the bed and 2 new flat screen 42” tv’s in the suite. It was lovely. We had Club Class Dining in the Da Vinci DIning Room which we enjoyed. Well worth the extra money for Club Class extras. We liked the special entrance and seating area , not ever having to wait for a table for 2 and we usually sat near a window so we could watch the ocean go by as we dined. The food was good, some nights better than others as expected when trying to feed 3000 people and the service was great. Staff on the ship knew our names almost immediately and we loved chatting with them when we saw them for dinner. Especially our hostess, Jel....she was so sweet. We ate at both specialty restaurants while on board...once at crown Grill and twice at Sabatini’s. Sabatini’s was our favorite but they are both very good and worth thee extra service charge. The service there is excellent! The buffet was ok...some food better than others (the chicken enchiladas were so tasty!). We only ate here twice doe dinner on nights we wanted to grab a blanket to watch a movie under the stars. My husband enjoyed fruit and yogurt at the buffet every morning with coffee. Love the Salty Dog - the Ernesto burger was worth the extra $5! Liked the chicken street tacos as wel. Fun, easy place to grab a quick bite of some tasty food. We did not use room service and actually kept to a fairly normal eating schedule. I actually lost 8 lbs on the cruise from sticking to the portions I was served and all of the walking on port days! But I ate what i wanted within reason and enjoyed everything! We really didn’t avail ourselves of the entertainment or the activities....we had shore excursions qt most ports and were getting up at 6:00am in order to meet our groups on the pier. After a long day on shore, we would come back to the ship, throw on our bathing suits nd either go to MUTS pool or hot tub and watch a concert while we refreshed and would then shower and change for dinner. We were in bed pretty early after such long, wonderful days. The service was magnificent. Really great staff...especially the Kostya and Avit in the International Cafe, Bing the bartender, Raymond the cabin steward, Anastasia at Sabatinis and Alex at Crown Grille. The ports were amazing!!! We did private shore excursions for all of ours and it was prefect. Small groups that were easy to manage and we had wonderful tour guides. Read Less

Always have a great experience with Princess. We wanted to see the countries in the Mediterranean. We love the fine dining, and the service we received was excellent. They always have great entertainment, and the ship had just gotten a retrofit. This was our fifth cruise with Princess, and we are always impressed. We have been able to enjoy Suites on all but one of our cruises, and that adds so much to the quality of the experience. We had dinner in the Crown Grill and Sabatini's on 3 nights, and this again makes the cruise experience that much better. The new Club Class dining was also enjoyable. Princess does a good job rewarding customer loyalty. There were many people on board that have cruised many more times than us. Every request for help or service of any type was quickly addressed and well taken care of. We will be back soon! Read Less

Chose this cruise as it visited the Greek islands and started and ended in my favorite cities in Europe of Barcelona and Rome Food was very good and better in taste than the newer and much larger Royal Princess that I was on year before The ship never felt crowded and actually thought it wasn't full until I saw it was sold out. Never wait for anything, buffet was small and limited compared to bigger ships but the quality was good and service excellent in buffet, dining room or the specialty restaurants. The Italian was my favorite and it was a very intimate experience as the big dining room wasn't that full at all and same with the steakhouse Movie under the stars with blankets, cushions and popcorn was great. Rooms doesn't have movies on demand like the newer ships but had movie channels I liked the star talk for narrated star gazing as well Room was fine, had a balcony cabin and good size except for the washroom and small shower stall with a curtain that sticks to you International cafe was my favorite place on ship for good snacks, drinks and quick bite for breakfast before going on shore or after coming back Excellent cruise and princess has the whole relaxation experience polished and much better experience than the new mega ships that's always a wait, crowded and qualify suffers One complaint is that the gym had low ceilings and I couldn't go on the treadmill as I bumped my head ..I'm 6'2, gym was on small size but was never crowded and they had cold wet towels and dry towels Read Less

Took this cruise to celebrate our anniversary. We had been on the Crown Princess before and liked the size of the ship and the itinerary it offered (Mediterranean cruise Barcelona to Rome). Our cabin (D217) was fresh (new bedding, new couch, new tile in the bathroom) and was spotlessly clean! Had the best cabin steward ever (Jose) who was always "one step ahead" of us! Since this was a port-intensive cruise, we only saw one of the shows so I can't really comment on the entertainment and we had little time to partake in any activities. The dining room staff in the DaVinci Dining Room was excellent especially Mirkos the head waiter and Peter the assistant head waiter. They made each evening enjoyable! As for the food, while I am not really a fan of the food in the dining room but on this cruise it was better than some of the other ships. Read Less

We’ve been on the Crown before and had great service, food, entertainment and the ports on this trip were fantastic. We met some fantastic people from different countries and are still in contact with them. Hopefully will meet them for other cruises also. We’ve always wanted to try a transatlantic cruise and this one was great. Very relaxing they had great speakers to keep us occupied and the shows were fantastic. Some of the best we’ve ever seen. Our State room attendant was absolutely fantastic friendly and always smiling. She was also a wealth of knowledge. The food we had was fantastic and the specialty dining rooms were great too. We tried them all. The courts we went to were fantastic absolutely beautiful and the excursions we were on were great also. We did do a couple of excursions with some people we met on cruise critic which turned out to be excellent. Read Less

As always, Crown Princess delivered Princess value and quality on everything on board, from stateroom to dining room. We have great time on board and met great people along the way. Worth every penny and time spent. Iteinerary and ports are excellent. We specially like Funchal and Mallorca. We may not visit these lovely places if for taking the cruise. Food was good in both dining room and Horizon court (buffet). Service staffs were excellent. Stateroom steward was wonderful, delivered first class service everyday. Enrichment talk and destination talk keep you busy during 7 continuous sea days, also enhance your knowledge and understanding of the place and history. One extra day on Barcelone is a wonderful arrangement, so you can tour Barcelona at leisure pace and don't need to worry about hotel reservation or hauling luggage around town. Barcelona is truely an amazing city, worth to visit again and again. We will definitely take few more cruises to stop by Barcelona in coming months and years. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had never visited Aruba, Bonaire, or Curacao and had heard good things about them. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit on each island and found that each had distinctive personalities bound together by a similar Dutch influence. We would visit again in a heartbeat! The weather was perfect! Highest temperature was 81 degree and very low humidity. Ideal! The Crown Princess was our choice for the itinerary, price, and prior experience on Princess cruises. We prefer the non-waterslide and not kid-focused ships. We found the food delicious with a variety of choices and the staff was highly professional and always accommodating! The entertainment was incredible-Broadway quality, amazing talent, and an excellent variety of offerings. In addition to all of the shows in the Princess theatre, we thoroughly enjoyed A.J.Clarke, an unbelievably talented pianist and singer. Catch him on request night if you can! Disembarkations was a breeze! Embarkation would have been the same, but the Coast Guard decided to hold up everyone for some inspection. Definitely was not Princess" fault! My husband and I would love to take this cruise again, so that speaks to how much we enjoyed the ABC's and Princess. Read Less
