3 generations took a celebratory (50th wedding anniversary) cruise to Alaska. A few things you should know if you're taking the Crown Princess this season (Summer 2022). The propulsion problem that many on Cruise Critic are complaining about is a really big problem! We originally had suites in the far back of the ship. The vibrations from the engines below were SO bad that 2 of the 3 cabins in ...
We're long-term Princess cruisers, with 20+ cruises and enough days to usually get us invited to the frequent travelers lunch, always good. We still like Princess, but our last two experiences have been less than ideal.
We had a cruise scheduled over Thanksgiving 2021, booked six months in advance, with our son and daughter-in-law and a one-year old. Princess cancelled our booking with one ...
We’ve cruised a lot on Holland America & have tried 4 other lines. To put it in perspective, Princess hits the bottom ranking. Had a great cruise consultant & the app seemed promising. Originally booked for May to Alaska, but once in Seattle, they offered us an upgrade to rebook. Reimbursement for airfare changes was to be awarded in 4-6 weeks….called at 8 weeks & was told that they were working ...
Chose Crown Princess to Alaska based on feedback from people who have previously cruised with them a couple of years ago. Things have changed. Hallway to cabin smelled like sewage, food was just okay. It was often served cold or over cooked and the selection was pretty minimal. Rumor was that covid was going around the crew which may explain why several of the activities were cancelled. If ...
I can say amazing, but that word means so many things to people. Here's what it means to me and why this cruise was absolutely amazing for me:
- surrounded by incredible views from anywhere on the ship. From watching whales on our balcony, otter seals swimming by that looked like they were waving, sunsets and majestic mountains and glaciers - it was like sailing in paradise.
- outstanding ...
We have cruised on Celebrity, Carnival and Norwegian and this was by far the worst ship and most poorly managed cruise yet.
After we booked and paid, we were then sent the notice that the ship was having engine troubles and therefore one of the listed ports was eliminated and the time in the existing ports were being cut down to a few ours instead of all day. This is a classic bait and switch ...
Had somewhat chosen this cruise as a last minute adventure, as some much needed work was being done in our condo that made it required to find a quick and easy getaway. And we figured as we are top tier status with Princess (Elite/Platinum) we had high expectations as we had frequently travelled with Princess. But sadly we were very wrong, as the Crown Princess is in serious need of not only some ...
Just returned from the July 23 sailing for seven nights on Princess Crown out of Seattle. Absolute dismal experience I know they cannot control the weather which did not cooperate so we could not see glacier Bay and we missed a stop in Ketchikan. But the really short few hours stop in Juneau Alaska and icy street was just not acceptable because it’s hard to do any excursion. We’d like to Skagway ...
Prior to boarding the ship, I had several concerns about the Crown Princess, sailing to Alaska. The Crown has propulsion issues and cannot get to appropriate speed. Several previous passengers had given me the good, the bad and the ugly regarding their experiences. While I STILL feel Princess should have been upfront about the known issues BEFORE final payment, I can now share my ...
Princess changed the itinerary 3 times. They first removed Ketchikan and replaced it with Icey Straight. They then took Icey Stright off altogether. They then took hours off of Juneau and did not arrive until evening. So basically the cruise was only 2.5 ports instead of 4. The offered a 100.00 onboard credit to spend back on the ship. What a joke. It was not even weather related. They had an ...
