Great ship. Good food,. Fantastic crew and organisation. However, you WILL pay $2000 above sticker price for a 2 week cruise. Gratuities, excursions, drinks. Most reviled by all was the "free drinks package." It is not. Firstly, this package only applies to beer and wine; then only wine by the glass, not the bottle; then only in certain bars and only at certain times. In short, not fit for ...
First time with Oceania and will be the last . Ship is looking shabby and cabin very small .Service in Restaurant very slow ( 2 hours + for meal ) and not enough staff . Food average and often lacked seasoning . Terrace Cafe poorly run and could not cope with large numbers returning from trips- not clearing tables / ran out of food etc .
Entertainment ( apart form the Evening shows and ...
We have previously traveled on Oceania. Nautica is an ancient ship that should be retired.
Bathrooms are horrific. Food and service were poor. Room service served rotten bananas, brown lettuce. Dress code not enforced in main dinning room. Folks wore flip flops, torn/dirty sweatshirts. Dining room drapes were wrinkled and dusty.Mold on shower curtain in bathroom. Staff appeared to be ...
This was our 5th cruise with Oceania- it was our last. The service in the Grand Dining was below average. It appears that Oceania has understaffed the wait staff particularly for the evening meal. In the Grand Dining, one of our party ordered a Jacq Pippin "signature" dish- roast chicken. It was served, after along wait, cold, hard and dry. The entertainment, with a few exceptions, was amateurish ...
Chose for size of ship, anemities on the ship and explore all these countries without having to pack up for each country place went to. the ship is for adults only as no amenities for kids, which we like.
Excursions. For us, though, in Thailand we only went to Bangkok and missed another excursion because the ship had to leave earlier than planned due to low tide. So, Thailand was a ...
The places the boat stopped are great.....but going back to the room was a problem! The rooms are small & they called it a suite........NOT! The bathroom was also very small! Our friends, who are large people had to shower half in & half out of the shower! Food was good. The staff was wonderful! Boat felt old. The beds are great, as is the bedding! The housekeeping staff couldn't do enough for us. ...
The itinerary was the main reason for selecting this cruise. Also the boat is identical to an Azamara cruise we went on in the past which we absolutely loved. Plus Oceania was rated 1/2 star more "luxurious" than Azamara. I thought we couldn't go wrong. Post cruise: I feel the ratings are reversed. Azamara outshines Oceania for several reasons.
First: Oceania charges for alcohol. OK, great. ...
I had cruised with Oceania before on the Insignia in the Mediterranean. After cruising on a large cruise ship, I had sworn not to ever take another cruise, but Oceania changed my mind. The food is top-notch with so many different choices at any meal and at different restaurants. You can dress casual and eat in terrace cafe at their buffet or dress up a bit and eat a multi-course meal in the Main ...
I had never spent this kind of money for a cruise before and was expecting that the cruise would match the dollars I had spent. It came no where near what I had paid.
The cost worked out to $436 Canadian ($333 US) each a day for the cruise. That is a lot of money when I started to figure out what each segment of the cruise would cost if I had arranged my own transport. So I expected top ...
This cruise was chosen for its itinerary. Our Akron transport did not arrive at Cape Town. We were advised by other workers at the terminal to wait. After 30 minutes of waiting we walked out to the front of the airport to seek further help . We talked to the information booth and they helped in getting a rep to us. After another 30 minute wait a car arrived for us. When arriving at the ship we ...
