Excellent cruise on Costa Magica

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Costa Magica

We chose this cruise line/ship for the Italian style/language/culture having family from Italy. We have been on the Costa Victoria before and like it very much. Although cruise lines have cut back on some the features like full scale entertainment and midnight buffet, the overall experience is very good. I have read many poor reviews of Costa Magica but most the negatives are due to a ...

Not too good

Choose this cruise because of departure port. Been in Suites on NCL Royal Caribbean and Princess. Food whilst good was ruined by very poor service. Drinks were particularly slow to come. On one occasion I sent my main course back (after two previous courses I was still waiting for wine). Had to escalate issue to Maître De before obtaining any improvement. Same could have been said for bar service. ...

STAY AWAY of Costa Magica cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Magica

We choose the Cruise because at the first sight there were some "exotic" destinations (Casablanca, Tanger) but at the end, these cities were extremely disappointed (dirty, no "magic", only the names..). At the first day in Marseille, the ship docked at 9 km from the city and Costa took us 11 eur/person for bus transport (which was supposed to be free). When we returned to the ship, there was ...

Bad Experience - No Way Ever Again

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Magica

We are experienced cruisers - this was our 4th or so cruise. We have sailed on MSC through the years. We chose this ship due to the departure date and exotic itinerary. This was the WORST cruise we have ever taken . All services are more expensive but much worse than at MSC. Every day we returned from the town to the ship there was a huge queue at the buffet and there are not enough ...

Any cruise is a good cruise - also with Costa

Having cruised with MSC, Norwegian, Carnival and Royal Caribbean before plus one time with Costa, I can hardly be categorized as loyal to any particular cruise line. To me, any cruise is a good cruise and I always try to find the perfect match of itinerary and value for money. This Costa cruise included a number of interesting ports such as Tangier and Casablanca where we participated in ...

We are experienced cruisers - this was our 35th or so cruise. We have sailed on RCL, NCL, Princess, Celebrity, Carnival and Costa through the years. We chose this ship due to the departure date and exotic itinerary - figured how bad could an Italian cruise be and it could be fun and lively. Well we were very wrong. This was the WORST cruise we have ever taken and our sentiments were echoed by ...

COSTA.....NEVER AGAIN !

I was part of the group Croisière Chantante (7 cruises with other cruise-lines) who chose Costa because they proposed a cruise from Marseille to Tanger, Casablanca (2 days), Cadiz, Lisbonne, Valencia, Savona, Marseille. Dissatisfaction:- 1:- Ports of call changed:- Casablanca (only1 day); add Civitavecchia instead ! :- Valencia to Alicante ...

Disappointing

We went on an 11-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean, including Tenerife and Madeira, in June 2016. This was our sixteenth cruise, our first on a Costa ship. We decided to sail with Costa despite the mostly negative reviews on Cruise Critic and elsewhere because of the itinerary and because we previously had defied negative reviews of MSC and had a very positive experience with them. ...

Our golden wedding day cruise.

We like very much to dance during our journeys. That`s why we expected to enjoy of much international social dancing with good evergreen dance hits. Instead we had to follow presentations of experienced dancers, who took part in everyday dance lessons. Music was performed by a duo and young dj`s. Most of the music was replays of the music played during the dance lessons including not so familiar ...

More like MagiCANT than Magica!!!

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Costa Magica

Oh goodness - where to begin. The ship was called the Costa Magica - but it SHOULD have been named the Costa MagiCANT. They just can't do anything - full stop. Let's go through this 'magical' experience one issue at a time. SHIP: The ship is old, dated, dirty, and in need of a serious overhaul. And when I say serious, I mean SERIOUS. The decor is like something out of my grandmother's ...
