Good time, but ship needs new entertainment and a new chef.

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Valor

As for most vacations, it is what you make of it. We were in a grand suite (7298) which was terrific but no other real perks come with with the suite. The AC worked GREAT and I slept like a baby all week! The room steward was terrific and the room was cleaned twice per day. The food ... eh ... was ok at best. MAKE TIME TO GO TO SCARLETT'S ... food was terrific! The dining room food was the ...

Just got back on carnival valor for the price and money it was just ok not the best cruise ever and was the worst cruise for me so far, but your at sea so can't complain about the view. We had a balcony cabin the bed was as hard as a rock. We did not get one full night of rest. When the air conditioner cut off room got really hot. You had control of how cold the air blowed but not when fan cut on ...

Please stop the smoking!

The cruise was fantastic but let me start with the title of my review. The smoking inside the casino is AWFUL!! You would think they would have exhaust fans to pull the smoke out o the casino but no! Frankly the entire 5 level smells of cigarette smoke. Also the outside smoking area is beneath the running track so you get to smell it while you run. Now on to the great stuff. The staff was ...

Enjoyed the cruise-- be cautious of the balcony cabins

My family and I were on the Valor from 8/22-8/29/15. This was our first time on this particular ship. We were in cabins 8343 & 8347. While the cabins were nice and centrally located, if you are a light sleeper you will want to be cautious of these cabins. You are right near the elevators which means that you hear the "dinging" of the elevator all night. You are just under the lido deck so ...

Reading all the negative reviews I was really nervous about this cruise, but the truth is a cruise is what you make it. If you go in with a negative attitude its not going to be fun. You have to be open minded. I had an awesome time. The staff was great and friendly. Our steward,Olvin from Honduras, was absolutely phenomenal. Always asking how we were, how dinner was, and how our day was. Everyone ...

What a choice for a first timer!

My wife and I just got back from our first cruise today! After a lot of online research, we chose the Valor. The only drawback and it was a minor one was Costa Maya. It feels like that port could be something someday.... But not yet. Belize and Roatan were unreal. Such beautiful waters and sweet people. Cozumel felt overly touristy but it was still a great time. Valor was ideal for our ...

Feeling Disappointed

We sailed on the Carnival Valor on August 22 - 29, 2015. This was our third Carnival Cruise and we stayed in a Grand Suite. On carnival, there are no amenities for suite guests as there are on Royal Caribbean, Holland America, and other cruise lines other than early embarkation/debarkation. They even did our laundry on Holland America in a Junior Suite and had a concierge lunge for suite ...

Take the FUN out of Carnival.

My wife and I have been on over 20 Carnaval Cruises and are Platinum with them. This cruise was by far the absolute worst on the Valor I have ever experienced. We have been on this ship three other times. Getting on and off the boat was by far the easiest but that is where the good ends. My bag was inspected for "contraband" and finally sent to my state room 4 hours after sailing. The contents of ...

We just had our first cruise on the Valor. We enjoyed most of it. We had a beautiful Ocean Suite, great room staff. However we were next to elevators and it was very noisy! No one explained that before? The highlight of our trip was the restaurant staff! Francisco, Rogelio, Jestino, and Renata! They became our family. They work so hard to make you happy! We loved them and can't say enough about ...

About us, we're in our early and mid 30s. I was in my first trimester of pregnancy so this is a pre-baby trip. Just wanted to see Eastern Caribbean for the first time. Been on Carnival and Princess prior. Food: Breakfast - Average. Their pork sausages are awesome and I like fruits they offer. Lunch - Ok burger and hot dog. Get the chicken fingers!!!!!!!!!! Dinner - ...
