Overall we had a great time on this Mediterranean cruise. The ship had just been in drydock, so everything was very clean and fresh. It isn't as fancy or as large as some of the newer RC ships, but it was fine, especially since we made six great stops on a 9-day cruise, with just 2 days at sea. For this reason, we just booked an inside cabin, which was small but fine for the 3 of us. The room ...
We chose this Cruise as, having always cruised with Princess, we were told there wasn't a lot of difference between RCI and Princess. Wrong! There's a lot of difference. Princess is superior to RCI (well, this particular ship anyway). Superior in virtually everything.
Embarkation: This was pretty much what we had experienced before. It was all quite smooth and simple with minimum hanging ...
I chose this cruise as wanted to go to Turkey, Italy, and Greece. It did all 3 countries, and the Turkey stop was not where any threats were being Kusadasi. The entertainment on board was great. There was always music happening somewhere on the ship at night. The wifi on board didn;'t work at all for me, waste of money. We didn't purchase any tours from the ship due to cost, and found our own way ...
We booked this cruise, 9 Nights Greek Isles, way back in May 2015 while on board Explorer of the Seas. Then decided to add 2/3 nights pre cruise stay in Rome and contacted via email RC Guest support for info on hotels etc. Was informed, not a problem and they suggested Crowne Plaza St Peters Hotel. All sounded good including the cost etc. Wondered if they could offer alternatives closer to city ...
We arrived in Rome 2 days before the cruise left and had an amazing time exploring the Vatican, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Ahhhh... the food in Rome was to die for. We stayed at a small B&B, A View Or Rome, and loved it.
Embarkation was a piece of cake. We arrived at Civitavecchia at 11:15 and we were on board at 11:45! Our stateroom was very clean and had plenty of closet ...
We have sailed on RC before. We are Platimum cruisers. We chose this cruise as the time period suited our schedule and that of our grandchildren who traveled with us.
It was a hectic cruise but very satisfying. The Jewel of the Seas lived up to its reputation. The public areas, having been renovated, were lovely. Food in the dining room (Tides) was satisfactory. The service was excellent. The ...
This was our 11th cruise overall and 8th with Royal Caribbean. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. The ports of call were, Messina and Naples Italy, Mykonos, Santorini and Athens Greece as well as Kusadasi Turkey.
We arrived in Rome a day before the cruise and stayed at the Crown Plaza St. Peter's, which we booked through RCI. The hotel is not too close to the city center. The room ...
This was the third leg of three back to backs.
We stayed on at Civitavecchia after going out and having a great meal at one of the shoreside restaurants. We made one horrendous mistake in Civi. We took a few 100 Euro notes to a bank to get change. BIG MISTAKE! First, we get to the bank and there is a capsule you have to go in to enter the bank. It wouldn’t let us through. One woman told ...
Took the train from termini station, Rome to cruise port for 5 euros. It's about a 7 minute walk from station along a flat walkway to port entrance where a free shuttle picks you up to bring you to the ship. Very easy. Glad we didn't spend the money for a cruise transfer. There were people at the train station that would carry your bag for tips. For 2 euros, it was worth it if you have anyone ...
We have been on Royal Caribbean 16 times prior and this was by far the BEST experience ever! From start to finish - perfect. Very quick and easy boarding in Civitavecchia, which can sometimes not be the case. They handled shore excursions differently than in the past and it was the most organized movement of people we have experienced on RCCL. We had a balcony cabin and though room stewards ...
