We chose this cruise because of its destinations and our first cruise was on Princess 12 yrs ago. The food was great in the traditional dining. We were somewhat disappointed in the destinations themselves. The marine life that you would expect from "The Virgin Islands" did not match our expectations. It would seem they the cruise lines would invest in artificial reefs ect.. to bring in more marine life. The queen bed in our suite was amazing. I would actually suggest doing research on the different ports so you know exactly what you getting into instead of a brochure feeling. The entertainment: the comedian great, the dancing singing programs once you see one you have seen them all. Sure the music and costumes change but it really seems the same. The Voice at Sea was really fun and that was new to us. Also, the cruise director was a pretty funny guy. There was also a female dancer that taught little mini dance lessons "the salsa" and she was a sweetheart. Read Less

Have been on this ship 3 times before this. First time in a suite which was just wonderful. The crew was so friendly and they went out of their way to make things just right. Club Class dining was really special. You can show up whenever you want and you are seated immediatel by the hostess. The extra attention by the waiter, assistant waiter and the MaitreD was appreciated and the special dishes prepared were very enjoyable. It is going to be difficult to go back to dining in the MDR after being spoiled like we were. Princess Cays is always a great Port to visit. A great couple of hours swimming and relaxing on the beach plus enjoying the barbecue lunch, really kicked off the start of a great cruise. The live shows were shows we had seen before, but high tech lighting sound that have been added really enhanced them. Well done Princess! Look forward to sailing on the Caribbean Princess again in the future. Read Less

To get away with my mom and sister. The cruise was nice but things on the ship or dirty. All of the people that worked on the ship were so nice very helpful and just great overall. The ships furniture was dated and old our cabin was grimy with the couch that was worn, had holes in it and just needed to be changed and updated. Stateroom attendant worked hard and was great. The entertainment was great and the destinations were wonderful. We loved our balcony and seeing the sun rises in the morning. The excursions were nice and the locals on the islands we visited really try hard to please the tourists. We didn’t want any excursions that were too physical because our elderly mother was with usWe were very pleased with that. Overall it was a nice cruise. I would like to see the rooms updated for the money you pay for that cruise. Read Less

The food at the Crown Grill was fabulous. Everything was cooked just right. We were not rushed and had a great meal. Servers were there when you needed them. ——— The food in the dining rooms were average at best. Nothing stood out. —— We did not eat on deck 15 Lido deck. Caribbean Princess ship has the Medallion system.it made check in a breeze, the Medallion opened your room door. Internet was really fast. Best tech improvement we have seen in years. Entertainment with the Princess dancers was superb. Saw all three shows. The stand up comic was good also. The voice impressionist was average. Ship was well organized and the entertainment director had many fun events. Getting off the ship for excursions was well planned and worry free. Disembark procedures allowed few lines until it got to immigration where only 2 officers were on duty when we left the ship. Read Less

2nd time on this ship. It was great. Western and Eastern Caribbean. Both 7 day sections had an age range from mid 30's to mid 60's. Not the kind of ship for under 18, not much to do for that age range. But plenty to do for everyone else. You can hide yourself in total isolation away from crowds to submerging into non stop activities. Anytime Dining was rarely a wait, the Horizon Court buffet always had a great selection. My favorite was the suchi bowls. Lunch time they had noodle bowls. Ate all venues at least once except Sabatinis Italian. Staff was great. Our cabin steward was like stealth, we forgot something in the cabin, and went back 20 minutes later and the cabin was already immaculate. Went to some shows, all were good, but, the comedian was the best. Filled every venue he performed at for 2 nights. Though these cruises were sold out, the ship never seemed crowded. Sea days were the busiest around the pool but if you looked, I always found a deck chair. My wife and I couldn't understand why so many people were on their phones nonstop. Your on vacation people. The medallion that you use to pay and get in your cabin works great even though we didnt bother with downloading everything before our cruise. One scary thing about downloading all the apps on your phone is you can download the casino and play slots with your money anywhere on the ship. And you use your medallion in the casino and just charge it to the cabin. Make sure to control yourself, or your trip could get pricey. The ship was heading to drydock after our cruise to get some upgrades and fix an engine problem that would make the back of the ship vibrate slightly at full speed. Something that has lasted 3 years or so. The only bad thing was we had to leave. Going through withdrawal as my room isn't cleaned twice a day. Read Less

We are seniors who love cruising, often staying on board while in port. We rarely avail ourselves to bingo, art auctions, or trivia, preferring the relaxing experience of cruising and the excellent service & food. Our loyalty to Princess gives us elite status, so we enjoy the free laundry and internet, not to mention(But I am about to) the mini bar set ups & shop discounts. We truly come back new & packing for our next trip. Our only regret is that we have to travel to FT, Lauderdale to embark, so we often choose another cruise line for the convenience of a home port. While we enjoy the other lines they do not have the music we enjoy, nor do we receive the perks. The new Medallion class is great!!! The door opens as you approach the stateroom. We are not up on all the advantages of the medallion, but will eventually catch on. Read Less

This was our fifth cruise with Princess, so we were familiar with this cruise line. We have cruised with three other cruise lines, including Celebrity. We were looking for a two week cruise in the Caribbean, and there weren't a lot of options. That's why we booked this cruise, which was sold as a single cruise, but was really two one week cruises: one week in the western Caribbean, then back to Fort Lauderdale; then leaving for a week in the eastern Caribbean. The Pros: Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived around one o'clock expecting a line, but practically walked right aboard. The online registration, and the medallion they've started using obviously speeds things up. We did the five p.m. dining. The waiter and assistant waiter were both super.(or on the ship) for our second week. Dinners were fine, but nothing to get excited about. We went to the Steamers restaurant once (has a small cover charge), and enjoyed it. The buffet is typical - busy, but could always find a nice, quiet place to set. We loved the afternoon tea, but only went there twice...after all, how much can you eat between a full lunch and dinner shortly after five? International cafe is worth the visit for early morning coffee, and the occasional treat. Cabin steward, as with all the staff we encountered, were the best - always pleasant, and anxious to help. He often inquired about how things were, and if there was anything he could do to help. A couple of things requested were taken care of asap. Things were always kept clean and tidy around the ship. You could see that they worked hard to keep things in ship shape! Shows / entertainment were fine with the exception of a comment later...The entertainers in the bars and around the ship seemed to cater to an older demographic...which was fine with me. The quality of this music and guest entertainers was great. Excursions: We did the snorkeling at Belize, and loved it. There was great coral, and lots of fish. We did a clam shade rental and kayak rental at Roatan. It was okay, but the clam shade was kind of useless since, unlike the shades at Princess Cays, you couldn't adjust them to shade you from the sun. The Cons: Let me preface this by saying that I consider these cons minor, and would not be a deal breaker in terms of going with Princess again. In fact, there is a two week circle Caribbean on the same ship next year, and we'll most likely be doing it. Minor: I didn't enjoy shows put on by the ship's performers. I would describe them as LOUD. Minor: The configuration of their buffet area is kind of unique and different. Personally, I think it causes congestion around the areas where you pick up food. Minor: (Actually not so minor): As mentioned earlier, this was booked as one cruise. But, three of the shows from the first week were repeated in the second week. And, even the jokes from our cruise director at the beginning or end of the shows were the same!!! That was disappointing. In summary, we were somewhat concerned after reading some of the reviews about the Caribbean Princess on this website. However, the negatives, in my opinion, were rather minor when you consider the bigger picture. We appreciate how hard people work to make our holiday a pleasant experience, and we did have a great cruise. When disembarking, would have loved to be staying another week ... or two. Read Less

Typical Caribbean cruise. Not much to see/do unless you like beaches. A beach excursion at every port. Other than that, we liked the swimming with the sting rays at Grand Cayman, the iguana farm at Roatan and the port at Cozumel. Unless you like those things, stay on the ship and enjoy being able to beat the "chair hogs" for the prime loungers near the pool. The Movies Under the Stars was great. Make sure you get there early and get a chair directly in front of the screen - otherwise, you won't be able to hear the dialogue. Cabin was very small and bathroom even smaller - enough storage room, however. The TV was by far the largest and the best reception we have ever had on a cruise. Food was "meh". Both in the cafeteria and the dining room. They are trying to get you to go to the specialty restaurants and pay extra. Entertainment was surprisingly good. Broadway quality. Those kids are really talented! Finally, take lots of $$. They don't like to take credit cards at ports and will charge you extra to "swipe" one. You will be tipping at every turn - not much ($1-$5), but they live on those $$ and you really don't mind giving it to them. Only one stop where there was a little boy begging. I gave him $1. One last comment on the excursions: typical in that they always make a "shopping" stop. Everyone has the same "stuff." But, if you want see an example of what life is like on those islands, take an excursion and don't fall asleep on the bus ride. Look out the window and be thankful for what you have and understand why the US is having a crisis on the southern border. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary (stops in Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel) and the fact that it was recently refurbished. It was also a great price since we booked six months prior. This cruise was during our daughter's Spring Break as well as her 16th birthday. She was very excited to travel to so many Caribbean countries in one week. As for the ship itself, we took a Princess cruise to Alaska in 2013 and were very surprised to find the Caribbean Princess had the exact same layout as the one we sailed on then (don't recall the name). It made things easier to find as it was familiar to us, but it was slightly disappointing to feel like we'd been here before after so many years. We wanted an aft facing mini-suite but they were sold out even six months in advance, so we ended up midship. This was absolutely fine, but I think the aft facing provides the best views since you can see both side of the ship while in port. As for the food, the Coral and Islands dining rooms had good decor, great service, and a nice menu. We ate in the Crown dining room for our daughter's birthday and had excellent service and food (the filet Mignon was the best). Well worth the extra $29 per person. We also ate in Steamers, but weren't impressed. The menu is intentionally extremely limited (only clams or fried seafood, nothing broiled) and the placement of the restaurant is where the ship rumbles and shakes during the whole meal. Not worth the extra $12 per person, for us. The International Marketplace buffet was fresh and tasty and we didn't grow bored as the selection kept changing (veggie lasagna was the best!) Entertainment was the best by far of my five previous cruises. The dancing and singing were top notch and the Voice of the Ocean competition was well done (congrats to Hannah on her win for Abba's Dancing Queen!) Most activities were targeted for the very old (e.g. arts and crafts). Average age was 65, I’d guess. Also, each time there was something we were interested in seeing it was at 9:00 a.m. after a late night, so we didn't attend anything other than Bingo and that was as expected. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised at the Casino's selection of slots and variety of table games. I enjoyed myself at the Casino three of the nights (even though I didn't end up winning - big surprise). One downside of this itinerary on Princess is you change clocks four times. Twice one hour behind, then twice one hour ahead. Made for a wonky jet lag experience every morning. On Carnival, we stayed on ship’s time no matter the port time. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation. Read Less

We left from Vancouver Canada on Air Canada Flight Dream liner Mar 29/2019. We travel by air getting to different destinations at least 3-4 weeks per year and have travelled world wide for over 20 years. Love A.C. D. L. but definitely not Rouge A.L. starting this holiday. This trip we are Seniors. We have been on over 6 cruises and different companies. We took Caribbean Princes Cruise lines Frt. Lauderdale, this time as wished to go to the Western Caribbean Islands, especially Grand Cayman Is. (Sting Ray Alley). I had researched Trip Advisor, Cruise Critic, and my travel agent and only this ship went this route. Embarking was efficient, with time given to us prior and help full assistant's beside line's. When we were asked to stand for the usual cruise picture I saw a blank wall, a tunnel of lights to the side but no usual ship picture that we were looking to board for our trip. This picture was doctored up to include a parrot and a star fish on the bottom and could have been to any world location. So I made sure we took pictures of the Caribbean Princess while tendering, anchored, and I have framed this ship. I thought this unusual not to have a ships picture as a back ground with us as usual. Could of been a sunset, tropical, trip scene, ship at night as we have got while traveling(Tahiti, Polynesia, Hawaii) other countries. We have friends, travel agents, neighbors who recommended Princess Lines to us and so booked this ship do to route port stops. First port Grand Cayman we had booked tour Stingray Encounter, Reef, Snorkel & Scenic Cruise. Worth the money/time, experience (read T.A. review) and book through Caribbean Princess ship. Next port Roatan Is. Hondurous Country. Tour Jolly Roger Catamaran Coastal Sail, Snorkel & lunch. Was one hour late as other tour ship was tied up but they did compensate but long pm in high humidity. Should be more crew on this ship, as no one helping us take off flippers or hand them up or assist us up ladder, no one at bar at times and could be more choice of salads and lunch. Saying that we helped our selves and enjoyed the rum punch. They have two ski doo's for any persons emergency back to the ship. Crew members in the water in kayaks watching and snorkel leader in water on reef. Reef is getting broken, tired, broken fan coral but saw a small amount of tropical fish, eel but not much color. Next port Belize Country previously done tours, ships good. Magill Is. Cozumel there were 7 boats either anchored, docked which made it crazy busy on the dock and in town. Been there three times before but tourist are not told you are approx. 6 miles from the town so need transportation by taxi, horse carriage, bike or scooters. They want your cruise room and ship, credit card, enough cash ect for security, damages or loss. Check your scooter ect out before using them as they will charge you for anything they think was not on the vehicle. It takes 1hr 30 min if not stopping much around the island and a nice interesting paved road trip. We are Seniors and did it with stops and safe road but be aware who sells you things and where you stop. Be very care full of your speed as it will cost you lots if over! Fast debarking and embarking with Princess key fob, great! Service on board- Above average in all area's, but onboard could have more crew attendants at elevators as a few very lost elderly people. Customer service attendants counter quite busy at times but they were excellent. We were on deck 11, stateroom B709 deck, a very excellent location for views, sunsets/rises, restaurants and adult pools and much more convinces. Deck 11 is under the life boats but private, quiet, best area and near elevators which we appreciated. Restaurants- Above average and most excellent. Sea Food Restaurant (Islander?) evening manager dedicated, waiters excellent, service great and the nicest sunset view in the back of the ship! Bars/Lounges- Explore was our favorite because of Franci manager, thankyou! also Micheal (f) who should be a manager on this ship we feel. Lex(M) head manager of the ships bars a great communicator, problem solver (Peter deck pool bar) and a man of his word knows the quality and experience his staff should have at all times. Thank You! Entertainment/main stage- Excellent dancers, orchestra, singers, musicians and humorous ships director who we will never forget the tourist questions onboard his list! Stateroom- We have been on larger ships but good seize and deck. Would suggest to have someone check all areas before we arrive in room, ie sinks, Kleenex, door handle and locks. We had one minor complaint which was fix within 2 hrs, and got two calls and survey right away. A couple of times certain elevators would not open, work, and some not to the floor you wished. But repaired soon. Crew painting on decks should have signs by deck doors. No paint chipping noise when relaxing on decks by pools. I would say that Princess looks after details, complaints, very efficiently, quickly and even verbally from a Supervisor in very excellent time. Thank you. Please reposition the larger t.v. so not in walking distance of deck door. Yes as I have been on other large ships, cruises it is time for a refit and will be going on this ship when completed the next refit in 3-4 months. Excellent communication with Supervisor's and staff and we had a very great time on this cruise! Mostly this trip we feel were people over 45 yrs of age and no problems with crowding or line ups. We chose this cruise because it offered a Saturday to Saturday itinerary that could accommodate 3 couples. We have sailed with Holland America, Carnival and Royal Caribbean twice. This cruise was a little disappointing in a few areas. My review seems mostly negative, but hey, I had sun, fun, and relaxation! I am just writing things that I would have liked to have known. First, the embarkation and disembarkation process went very smoothly. We took the Princess transfer from the airport to the cruise ship terminal - 19$ per person. Next time, we will probably take a taxi (15$): you have to wait for everyone to show up (not a tremendous amount of time though) and we had some bad luck - our bus got hit by another one (took our mirror off) therefore we had to wait for a new one. Not the end of the world I suppose! We were supposed to disembark at 8:00 am, but as we were staying in Florida for one night, there was no problem leaving later. Second, the ship decor is a little dated: carpets, walls, etc. Our cabin for instance had the flat screen tv, but it was on a shelf that probably held the big square tvs... It would make more sense to mount it to the wall and get rid of that shelf. The bathroom is also the smallest I've experienced on a cruise ship. The bed was ok, but the pillows were very uncomfortable. The closet however was a very good size. On sea days, it is obviously more crowded, but very manageable. Third, the dining. The breakfast buffet was fine - what you expect at any buffet. We never went there for lunch nor for dinner. We enjoyed Slice Pizzeria and The Salty Dog by the main pool. Also, The International Cafe has a great selection of sandwiches! We ate at Planks one evening (12$ per person) - good food but HUGE servings! The main dining room was disappointing compared to other cruise lines. We were not very impressed with the food selection. One good thing is that we had selected the My time dining and never had to wait for more that 10-15 minutes for a table of 6. The service was mostly good. However, on our last formal night the waiter dropped some red wine on my dress and my husband's shirt (black so not really a big deal). They took my information down in order to clean my dress, but the service was never rendered. Pretty disappointing. The bar service is fantastic! The tastiest pina colada is by The International Cafe!! Fourth, the ports and shore excursions. Our first stop was at Princess Cays, Bahamas. You need to tender out (it went smoothly) for about 10 minutes. We reserved a clam shell (29$), but the day was a little cloudy and there are quite a few trees for shade. However, if you're planning on getting one, you need to do it on the ship. Once on land, we went to our left, would go to the right - it seemed to be less crowded. If you purchase a beverage package, it works on the island. The Bar-B-Q lunch was good: burgers, hotdogs, chicken, ribs, salads. Our second stop was in Puerto Rico. We decided to do a walking tour on our own. Take a left when you get off the pier! It is a beautiful city. We saw a lot of statues and fountains. The men visited El Morro fort (7$) and enjoyed it. If you plan on going to the Barrachina (first pina colada), try to make reservations; it is very busy. Our third stop was at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. DO NOT take the Puerto Plata and Cabarete Beach tour. When we got to the beach, we were whisked to the bathroom (by the way ladies, there is only one for us - I ended up going into the men's where there are two...(sorry guys)), then we were seated at a table at the restaurant (Tuva). There was a bit of a language barrier (my sister ordered whiskey and we're not sure what she got - stick to beer!!), the debit/credit machine was down, it lacked organisation. The beach was fun though! The waves are big, which is fun to jump, but be careful! We then went on the city "tour". Our guide (Eladio) took us to a souvenir shop - that he called the market - (Island Treasures) and made a 5 minute speech about the stones found on the island and this is the place to buy it and you won't find better, blah, blah, blah. I bought a mask - which was 2$ cheaper at the port shop of the same name. It didn't break the bank, but I am a little disgusted by this. We then visited a church where a service was in progress - WHAT? Not one person on the tour was impressed. When we finally got back to the pier, we had very little time to shop. Our fourth and final stop was in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos. We have been to many islands in the Caribbean, this is the clearest water I've seen! We booked a White Sand Snorkel tour on our own. Zero regrets: great service, great snorkeling, rum punch!, FRESH conch salad and a beautiful sting ray encounter! If you're planning on doing a beach day, the clam shells, chairs and umbrellas are free!! Very nice touch! Overall, I got some much needed sun and a lot of fun! But for the amount of money you put towards a cruise? I just wouldn't book with Princess again. Read Less

Itinerary was one of the main reasons to go on the Caribbean Prince. We have already cruised on this ship and loved it. We were celebrating a few things. My wife's Birthday, my 70th Birthday, and our 25th Weddings Anniversary. First time getting a larger suite, mainly for the size of the room and balcony. Was a little disappointed in the suite, because of the noise, no sun, sleeper sofa, and closet door making so much noise. Also my wife got her finger slammed in the door. Loved San Juan going to the Bacardi Rum distillery was the best your ever. Wish we had more time there to see more of New San Juan. The staff and service was great. Loved going to the Club Class restaurant every night. Everyone was so polite and helpful, all the way from the wait staff to the head chef. So happy with the new Medallion set up. Our first impression was that the ship is old and in need of some refurbishment. Our room was dirty when we arrived. If the room was not ready for us then they shouldn't have let us board early. Food was average at best, Steak only offered twice during our 7 day cruise. Specialty menu's were offered every night in Any time dining but had to pay extra 19 dollars. We ordered late night traditional dining but was put on standby for that, and had to anytime dining instead. We like having the same dining mates and waiter every night but that was not to be. We were #5 on the waiting list for traditional dining and never got lower than that. Deserts were good. Caesar salad was bland so WE opted out for garden salad instead but had to ask for it since it it was not on menu. Coffee was good. We stuck with drinks-of-the-day since they were cheaper $8.95 than regular drinks but hardly any alcohol in them, didn't even get a buzz! We heard they are taking ship out of service for 30 days to refurbish it. Wait staff friendly but overheard pool bar staff not very friendly. We noticed a lot of families with kids, found out it was school winter vacation in Ohio and mid-west. Lots of kids in hot-tub and pools. Signs saying no jumping or diving into pool were not observed. and were also throwing balls and cups of water at everybody, No supervision at the pools. Surprised they didn't go on Carnival instead. Beer bottle glasses were allowed to be in pool area, a definite no-no. Told staff and they didn't care. They were doing repairs outside our cabin some morings waking us up early, banging and sanding, Not cool. They did have designated smoking areas but walkers had to share deck 7 with smokers, Cough, cough! Would not book Princess again unless it was a new ship. I like Celebrity and Royal Caribbean much better. 'Entertainment was by the Princess dancers and did 3 different shows but quality was way below other cruise lines, Comedian was very funny and Symphonee black band was excellent, played around ship. Rear pool was very wind and in the shade most of the time because of skywalk night club blocked the sun. Heard there wasa Sanctuary pool that was free to use but had to pay extra for chairs, we never went, has a small golf putting surface all the was up on top. This cruise just did not impress me. Stops were ok Princess Cays (private island) own by Princess was just ok. Gave us a BBQ, Hot dogs (bad) Burgers (worse) and ribs (ok). Did some snorkling , saw maybe 5 fish. Disappointing. Oh well, there's alway next year ! Read Less

This our 4th with Princess and the first questionable experience. We had 2 other couples with us on their first cruise. They always seemed understaffed. Drinks especially soft drinks were difficult to get. Mixed drinks were higher priced than I remembered. It wasn’t until the fourth night that we found a waiter that we enjoyed enough to remember and and asked for her again. The food at the restaurants were just average, nothing outstanding. We ate at the Crown Grill one night. Good but barely worth the up charge, we did this on the other 3 cruises and it was always something special but not this time. Breakfast buffet was good every day. The Princess theater shows were outstanding. We get up Monday morning (day 3) and our toilets don’t flush. Neither do our fellow travelers. Our whole section of mini suites are all out. Ninth floor. Steward called it in at 7:30 am. An hour later I go to the front desk and get an indifferent “we know about it and the plumber will be working on it soon”. About 3 hours later the plumber is in the hallway with a snake routering out the line. We go to lunch and mess around a while then return to the room and it is fixed. No message or anything. I returned to customer service and explained the situation and the rep said he would check with his boss and get back to me. He did and we met again the next day and he offered us a free meal at Planks bbq for our inconvenience. Offering a group from Texas BBQ is risky to begin with. The food was actually good and the service was very good but I don’t know how they keep this restaurant open. Hardly anyone else was there. The medallions were fine but we couldn’t get the apps to work consistently. We and our traveling friends paid a lot for the mini suites and I just expected more service and quality food like we had on previous Princess trips. Somewhat disappointed. Read Less

This was my 11th sailing with "Princess" and I have enjoyed there service , amenities entertainment and food at all the venues. I have sailed with other lines but found "Princess" to be my favorite . This line is consistent and I know what to expect when I book my next cruise. I am now enjoying many different perks and comps at the level of loyalty I have reached and will enjoy even more when I reach the next loyalty level. I intend to book many more cruises with this line . Everything I have experienced on board was up to the standard I expected each time I sailed. I enjoyed the on board amenities and the ports that were visited, Many of the ports have been built to make sightseeing and shopping a pleasure . I'm looking forward to my next cruise and a great time on board. I have found the service and the crew to be excellent , they go out of their way to make your onboard experience a pleasure . Mid-March is the perfect time to get away from winter. The Western Caribbean cruise was wonderful with hot weather, calm seas and clear sunny skies. The staff onboard the Caribbean Princess was attentive, helpful and courtesy. You're in for a treat with the entertainment that is scheduled onboard the cruise. The comedians are always top shelf and "The Voice of The Ocean" guarantees three nights of lively entertainment!! The food and drinks flow freely and the staff is very conscious of keeping everything clean a sterile. There are wash stations and sanitizers outside of every buffet dining rooms with staff nearby to keep these areas clean. Throughout the ship hand sanitizers are plentiful. There are staff members waiting for you when boarding the ship from an excursion with cool wash rags to wipe your hands and face. Also present are staff members with ice cold containers of flavored lemon and cucumber water. Read Less

I took my granddaughter and her college friend on SPRINGBREAK...EMBARRASSEnD! We found two pair of dirty underwear in our room upon arrival. Very nasty! There was a contact lens stuck to the wall of our bathroom for the entire trip. Plastic and paper trash was under both beds. We were given a free meal in one of the specialty dining rooms for our room being dirty . For the first time ever in my experience this room Steward was surly. The excursions were great, the food was very good. Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth. The staff on the ship other than the room Steward were very nice and friendly we enjoyed the excursions but will never utilize Princess Cruise Lines again. There were some pretty bad stains on the carpets in some of the public areas I think they could have been cleaned better. I don't give bad reviews very often but this is one that needed to be relayed sorry Princess Cruise Lines but this was a failure on your part. Read Less

Princess has been a step above Carnival, but over the last few years, the gap is shrinking. All announcements and especially the music were of such volume that it was physically demanding to tollerate. When asked to lower the volume, ship’s staff responded that it was necessary to be loud to create a party atmosphere. Food was below par, and service was simply average. I was served Cream Bule! That had obviously been sittyng long enough for the carmelization to melt and the pudding to decompose at the bottom. Ships dancers and singers were the absolute best! Every show was like a broadway performance. Bravos to them. Ship condition was really bad. Paint peeling off the ship, hand railings varnish was crinkling. Several sharp ends exposed. Electrical closets left open in passage ways. No water to rooms between 3 and 5 pm two days due to replacing water lines. Our safehad low batteries on second day. Key pad was also malfunctioning. Replaced batteries. Next day, replaced key pad with key pad with low batteries. Had to come back a third time to change batteries in the replacement key pad. Necessitated us having to stir our valuables in a friend’s room safe for a day. The new Medallion program might be fine in the future, but because of poor training of the ship’s crew, they were learning the system as were the passengers. I spent the entire first day of the cruise trying to figure it out. I should have been given a discount for having to do the work of the crew and loosing nearly an entire day of relaxation on the cruise. Suggest avoiding the Medallion cruises untill Princess rolls it out in a more user friendly manner. The last thing was that this cruise ship appeared to be a crew training ship. Supervision of staff was slim to none. Our sendoff was cold coffee in the zHorizons on the morning of departure. We asked for hot coffee and were told by the server that the coffee machine was broken and there was no hot coffee. Appropriate ending to a very disappointing cruise. Read Less

We've done many cruises with Princess so we wee not surprised that this one was so lovely. This is our second voyage using Club Class and it is worth every extra penny. The ease of dining, the uptick in service and food choices and those incredibly comfortable beds make it our favorite at sea experience. LOVED the ease of Medallion class. While it still has a few bugs in the Internet, it is much improved from previous experiences. Service is what Princess does best and it did not disappoint on this voyage. Having been on cruises before where there were long waits to embark, and long waits to get into the cabin, and what seemed like endless waits to get baggage, it all goes so smoothly it's hard to believe there are 3,000 other passengers. Since this trip was during spring break we saw lots of families on board, which we love to see. Any cruise is what you make it, but with the staff of the Caribbean Princess, it was easy to make it a perfect vacation. Read Less

Wow what a disappointment! I read the reviews before booking and dismissed the negative ones thinking they were exaggerating. They weren’t. This was the worst cruise of the five I’ve taken. Biggest disappointment was the customer service and appearance of the ship in general. I finally figured out why the staff doesn’t seem to care: there’s a mandatory daily gratuity charged per person so they have no incentive to treat you like “royalty”. $13.50 per person per day - I don’t remember being told about this. So staff is being tipped regardless of service and it shows. This cruise was severely understaffed. The wait at the bar for a simple Diet Coke was maddening. Not one time at the pool did a waiter come around asking for drink orders. Always always had to go get it myself at the bar. Didn’t even have soda in the buffet, had to leave to go to the bar to fill my cup. I bought the soda pass which meant I had to carry around that big cup all the time to have it refilled. I was “upgraded” without being asked to an oceanview. The view was of a lifeboat. It’s laughable. I would rather have kept my interior stateroom. Buffet was unremarkable at best - never once thought wow this is delicious. It was just food. Tables were always dirty - again understaffed and couldn’t keep up with all the people eating there. Tried the dining room once and again not impressed. I really expected this cruise to be like the ones in the past where I just felt pampered and everyone was nice and friendly and happy. Not this crew. I felt like I was imposing more often than not. Our safe in the room quit working after a few days. We just laughed and thought well of course it doesn’t work. They claim this ship was refurbished. What the hell did it look like BEFORE?? It’s so dated that I felt like I’d been had. Harry Potter trivia was an event we attended - it was like a twelve year old’s mom threw together some questions and had us all sit around guessing the answers on paper and boom it was over. Twenty questions and that’s it. Pencil and paper. I mean come ON Princess. It was just pitiful. I heard other people talking and the same thing was being said. Not as good as other cruise lines. I will never again sail with Princess and will go back to Royal Caribbean where they know how to treat their customers and keep the ship clean and the food amazing. Princess is substandard and even smelled of raw sewage towards the end of the cruise. I was glad when it was over actually which is a sad testimony given the money spent. Read Less

Our week onboard was wonderful, good food, very nice staff, fun excursions. Cruise director Matt was a great guy, encouraging us to have fun and enjoy our vacation. Embarkation was easy even though we did not upload all our data on the Medallion ahead of time (my phone is too old to download app). Our room was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. Cabin steward Elmer was so friendly and helpful. Disembarkation was equally efficient. Medallion worked perfectly, although we needed 2 visits to the help desk to figure out how to use the internet. Once we got the hang of it we were fine. Our bill was accurate, no odd charges. Entertainment was very good. We enjoyed all the shows, and noted that if you want to go to the 7:30 show you should show up by 7 to get a decent seat. Shows were full by 7:15 every night. Did not do the movies by the pool, but other folks really enjoyed them. The sales staff did not browbeat you to buy things, we attended a meeting to learn about shopping in the ports which was fun and lots of people won nice prizes. Art show activities almost every day, if you like that. The big buffet upstairs had a huge selection of food, and you could also get a nice choice of food in the coffee area on the 5th floor. A very large latte was $3.50, so you can decide if the coffee card is worth it for you. We could not drink enough to justify the liquor package, and I doubt we drank enough for the soda package that we did buy. Princess says they have an IPA beer, but they do not. We had anytime dining and never waited in line, although if you want to eat at 7pm you will most likely have a line. The food was good, sometimes the ingredients were a bit weird for my taste. the mussels were way too salty and the lobster very small. Steak choices were good. Shrimp cocktail was 4-5 very tiny frozen shrimp. Dessert looked good, but were so-so. Anything hazelnut was good, and the pistachio pudding was the best. We used a ship excursion for the twister boat at Cozumel and it was a blast!! Arranged our own trips in Roatan and Costa Maya, and Grand Cayman. We had a wonderful time and I would book Princess again in a minute! Read Less

Matt the Cruise Director was awesome. The cruise has a lot of entertainment to watch and be part of. I was pleased with all the food options, the only food option I was not pleased with was the lobster dinner on the last formal night. I did not like the lobster served with green risotto and a cream sauce and didn't feel that was a full dinner when you compare to the other dinner options that were served pervious nights. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our cabin was always clean . The entertainment was wonderful I really enjoyed the ship dancers. My favorite band was Symphonee. The Live DJ played music for all ages and was great getting the crowd involved. The cruise director staff made my 1st cruise very memorable and fun .I loved watching the marriage match show. For my 1st cruise I would defiantly cruise with Princess again. Read Less

We chose this 7 day cruise as it fit in with our March Break schedule. Since my husband and I both work for a school board, we wanted a quieter, more adult only cruise to relax and unwind. We love your hashtag # comebacknew as Princess definitely delivers. The ports of call suited our need to explore the area before returning back to the ship. Princess Cays was a perfect beach day. A beautiful little spot with a bbq lunch and bar service. We rented a clamshell for some much needed shade. The anytime dining had a great selection that accommodated our vegetarian lifestyle. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. The best creme caramel I have ever had. Sabatini’s delivered a rich and delicious multi course meal with vegetarian options as well. We truly felt spoiled. The adult only pools offered a quieter spot for us to cool off from suntanning and reading. I truly enjoyed 3 treatments at The Lotus Spa while I was aboard The Caribbean Princess. I almost fell asleep. A great way to relax and unwind. We’ve already left a deposit and are planning our next Princess Cruise. Read Less

Everything was incredible!! They make you feel like family and you never want to leave the ship! The food was world class and the service on the ship was otherworldly, the drinks on board were incredible and allowed you to venture into a whole other culture and a whole other world of excitement! It is a wonderful mix of people and every passenger on board was so fun and excited and so sweet to everyone else. The stage shows that they put on our like a broadway musical and the performers can sing with the best of them! They have a full range of things for you to do whether it’s hanging by the 5 pools and jacuzzi’s they have, learning about the many secrets of pirate treasure, world class shopping with incredible deals, or anything else you can think of, there is never ever a dull moment. Everything was so smooth especially with their new medallion you use for everything!! It is the best thing out there!! 100% recommend!!! Read Less
