We arrived at the cruise terminal at noon and it took 2 hours to get on the boat. The line to check in was very long but we were all in a good mood. We had the ultimate beverage package and every drink that we ordered other than specialty coffee and bottled water was included. We picked up bottled water on the way to the ship and had no trouble bringing it aboard.

We just got back from sailing on the Spirit. We left out of Port Canaveral, however I felt that this was port was not organized. casino was a little small but the ventilation system was horrible. Overall the cruise was up to par. The ship is a smaller more intimate. Service in The Windows restaurant was below average. Most meals were delivered slow and warm not hot and some were delivered cold. We switched to The Gardens and were more satisfied with both the service and quality of the food. We tried the Shogun Asian restaurant and enjoyed that.

My family and I were very much looking forward to this Caribbean cruise. We had been to Mexico and Alaska before and had very positive experiences. We were not prepared for what we experienced on the Spirit, however.

I am a very forgiving person but this cruise was hard to forgive. We knew going in that this is the oldest boat in the fleet so I expected some problems, our shower door did not open easily but maintenance fixed that, although we did not call it in, I think the cruisers on the cruise before us did. This was my 10th cruise, but my first with Norwegian and my first bad experience. Breakfast and dinner in the main dining room took 2-2 1/2 hours every day. Items would arrive cold or sometimes not at all. The food was only so-so. Every dinner had broccoli.
