Our family (2 adults/1 teen) sailed on Norwegian Spirit from Venice-Barcelona on June 24-July 6, 2015. We flew Lufthansa from Washington, DC-Frankfurt-Venice & from Barcelona-Munich-Washington, DC.
We arrived in Venice 24 hrs. prior to boarding & took the airport shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma. We selected the Best Western Hotel Olimpia for its proximity to the bus depot & the People Mover. The ...
We chose NCL as we found them to be the most cost effective.
It was important for the cruise to be able to cater to our daughters, who at the time of cruising were 11 and 13. The kids clud was great.
As my family had never traveled to Europe and we felt that this was the best value for money to see a snapshot of Europe which included all our food, accommodation and of course the ...
This year we have sailed on spirit twice. Both times the food and service has been almost on par with much more expensive cruise companies.
On this 12 night cruise we had three days at sea and a couple of mornings at sea. we were
impressed that there were bbq's on each of these days, plus another choice at the aft.
Another nice touch was at our two turkish ports of Istanbul and Kuserdassi. ...
The food on this ship was the strangest I have experienced. Nothing was truly awful, but nothing was better than good, odd combinations. Disappointing. Also, in the 24 hr hamburger bar we could see them cooking and were shocked to see them come in with Lobster shells and give them a quick dip in the deep fryer. One of our family has a shellfish allergy and there is no way to know that that happens ...
We decide to celebrate my daughter's b-day #15 in an unforgetable way, so we travel 1 month to Europe and 12 days of that month were in NCL "Spirit".I will want to said, it was and unforgetable trip for all of us, we couldn't choose better, the ports of call were beautiful each of them (my favorite Istambul, Mykonos), but all were an experience.About the ship and the cruise line, is my second time ...
This cruise was a birthday present for my husband and we billed it to ourselves as a "trip of a lifetime". I thought 12 days was a little long to be onboard, but with stops in different ports it didn't feel claustrophobic at all.
Embarkation in Venice was a breeze, and after a quick shower we left to tour Venice. I wish I would have arrived a day earlier to spend more time in the city. ...
This was our first cruise but it will certainly not be our last with NCL. We were not certain what to expect, however from the moment we embarked to the last day of our Grand Mediterranean Cruise it was amazing. We must thank the entire staff of the Norwegian Spirit especially Karin our Concierge, Mary Jane our Butler and Dennis our Cabin Steward. These three were like ninjas; always lurking in ...
We loved our cruise (NCL Spirit "Twelve Day Grand Mediterranean from Barcelona"--June 12-24, 2015)) and had a wonderful time! This was our 5th cruise and the 3rd NCL cruise. The size of the Spirit was just right. A bigger ship makes it more confusing. We were able to see and visit with people we had met throughout our 12 day cruise over and over at the entertainment, dinner, and after dinner ...
The Spirit was a tired old ship showing its age at every turn. Had to call maintenance twice due to water backup in shower and stench coming from drains. Entertainment was average to poor with very liitle variety. Food was average to poor. Nickel and dimed at every turn. Juice was free at breakfast but you had to pay for it at lunch and dinner. Average to poor service. It was obvious that the crew ...
We took the Mediterranean cruise, June 12-24, 2015. Our ship was Spirit. We would rate this ship and experience as very poor. Our stateroom need to be remodeled. Faded carpet, black mold in shower that made the whole bathroom area a smell bad. The Cabin Stewart tried his best but grout needs to be replaced. The size was room was very comfortable. Loved the balcony. Closet and storage was good. ...
