We began our trip with a self guided week in Australia. We loved the Blue Mountains and surrounding areas. The weather was cool but clear...just lovely. We flew to Cairns and drove to Port Douglas which we adored. Visited the Daintree Rain forest and experience the Great barrier Reef. Ask about tide schedules because we had limited access to the reef because it was low tide. We wished for more ...
6th cruise, all with Carnival Corp brands; first one on Princess. We are North Americans who chose this far-from-home trip for the itinerary: 3 ports on New Zealand's South Island; 3 ports on the North Island, one day of scenic cruising in Fiordland's National Park. We were told that we might have "bad weather" on this cruise; we took that to mean we should pack rain gear. No one mentioned ...
This was our first cruise ever and we had expectations of a great time. We could not have been more disappointed and definitely will not cruise again on any cruise line after this experience. For a cruise that only had 2 ports in 12 days, the activities were uninteresting and repetitive. There is only so much towel folding one can take. We were also expecting a high standard of night time ...
We are relatively new to cruising with this being our 4th cruise. After being told how wonderful Princess is by experienced cruisers on previous voyages, and reading reviews that were complimentary in the main, we booked this 12 day cruise home to Sydney from Singapore as a Princess sampler. We understood Diamond had just completed a refurb in 2014 and were looking forward to a newish ship ...
We were first time cruisers with princess, recently did the Yokohama Japan to Singapore cruise, have sailed Cunard and holland America previously, very enjoyable but long delays getting off ship for day excursions and disembarkation took hours standing in long queues, didn't have that on other ships. Crew not as friendly as holland America but the food was wonderful. Found a lot of passengers had ...
Booked a Diamond Princess 9-day cruise around Hokkaido. Traveled with my husband and sister, sharing a Penthouse Suite. We upgraded from Mini Suite at the last minute due to a Princess promotion. So glad we did! This was only my 2nd cruise, so I my expectations may be too high. The ship had 2,800 passengers and was very large. Check in went very smooth.
The ship seemed well maintained in the ...
Purchased a 9 nights/10 day cruise from Tokyo (Yokohama) to Hokkaido/Russia (Korsakov) departed on 17 August 2015, for my parents (their 80s birthday and their 50th wedding anniversary), myself and my daughter. I purchased the exactly same cruise for my in-laws last year and they had an excellent trip, so decided to do the same for my parents. We were two cabins and one was a mini-suite (Dolphin) ...
My choice of cruise is determined by destination and as I wanted to visit Japan without packing and unpacking I chose a cruise on the Diamond Princess. This was the only cruise that offered lots of ports even though it would not be my first choice of time of year owing to heat and humidity. Because we had previously cruised with Cunard and P&O (amongst others) we qualified for ruby level although ...
Our 17th cruise but only 4th under Princess umbrella so have a few cruises to judge them by.
Stayed a couple of nights in Narita before taking the bus to Yokohama. We did have a bit of a walk around the terminal to find the Princess representative but the info counter headed us in the right direction so no real problem there and the bus ride down was great and comfortable. Check in was quick ...
This was our second time on the Diamond Princess, albeit much shorter. This time were were in a full suite and it was very spacious, although the shower cubicle was on the small side.
The embarkation was quick and efficient and our bags arrived promptly, 91% of the passengers were Japanese and we all were very cheerful and polite to each other. Some Japanese passengers knew a little of English, ...
