My husband and I have been on a total of 13 cruises. One with Norwegian, 5 with Princess, 6 with Royal Caribbean and most recently, our first with Carnival. We traveled to the Mexican Riviera on the Miracle with 5 other couples to celebrate my sister’s 60th birthday. We’d hesitated to try Carnival in the past due to what we perceived as a reputation as a party cruise, but that was not at all the ...
We've been on the Mexican Riviera cruise many times, and on several different ships.
Carnival gets an A for effort. They have great cabin stewards, helpful staff in buffet area, and nice food servers.
The Spa/Gym was nice but they didn't have many classes that weren't for extra cost.
The Dance Troupe at night was small and not too talented and they had a couple of nights where they had a ...
I chose this cruise for the speacialty group sailing on it, but the ship was not exciting.
The ship lacked the Spa amenities I was hoping for. The hot tubs were inconsistantly warm/luke warm/hot. Serenity was too small and always crowded. Deck games and activities were limited and uninspiring.
The food was great. Although I felt overwhelmed by the decor in the Bacchas dining room and the ...
Like many, we lower our expectations a bit when we use Carnival. Obviously, its a bit cheaper then most other cruise lines and you realize there must be a reason. This might be unfair. The Miracle is nicely compact and well laid-out. Even though its compact, I never feel too crowded.
Embarkation: disappointing. We were going to buy the FTTF, but it was sold out. We got to the terminal at ...
The night prior to the cruise, my husband and I (he is 59, I am 60) stayed on The Queen Mary for $119.00 (plus taxes and etc) and it was literally only a less than 5 minute walk to the Miracle embarkation port. The ship was a couple hours late coming back into port from the previous cruise due to a power outage the day before, so our Faster To The Fun (FTTF) embarkation was a little delayed. They ...
Room 6216, Balcony port side.
Overall rating of the Cruise was a 4.5 out of 5.
Embarkation: It was a beautiful morning as we came to port in the Hotel shuttle. Traffic was terrible at the port for some reason the semi-trucks delivering to the ship were stacked up and made quite a traffic jam. Took over 20 minutes longer than it has the other 4 times at this port. It is my opinion check in ...
Although we were late leaving Long Beach, the Capt. made up the time. The Itinerary was changed to avoid a hurricane, but that is understandable and we did get to all three of the ports advertised. The cabin was comfy and clean and our room steward did a fine job. The Steak House, Nick and Nora's, was fantastic. The food overall was well done and plentiful. There were plenty of activities. We ...
more ports than usual 7 day alaska cruise. fantastic views. saw bears.
icy strait all day great views of glaciers, animals. better than even tracy fjord from a previous cruise. because of schedule change early morning skagway lots of stuff closed on sunday. but when they opened skagway great deals end of season( previous times we were here we took a train ride(spectacular views), a tour up ...
LONG review, but if you want the 'bad' and 'ugly' skip to the bottom.
Well, my wife and I FINALLY managed to take a cruise to Alaska! And the itinerary was perfect for us - 2 weeks and a round trip from Long Beach, CA. made it easy on us (we live just north of LA).
After 3 days at sea, we were glad to hit some really great ports. Our favorite was Icy Strait Point - WOW! What a GREAT ...
Chose this cruise because we didn't have to fly to get on ship to Alaska. The reason for the 3star review was the food. I mean broccoli every night and we like broccoli. No choices on menu. The chef made mud pie everyone at table ordered it was CAKE??????? I could go on but why. The excursions offer for Alaska were great. Good variety Choices... The entertainment was ok but I feel Carnival ...
