I really hate to write an unfavorable review, but our experience on Carnival wasn't great. Our family of 5, including daughter 23, daughter 21, and son 16, along with my 78yo mother, cruised Alaska on the Miracle form July 2-9. We had 3 extended balcony cabins in a row (the balconies were opened without problem once we asked). The cabins were small, a little shabby, with good built in storage ...
For background, I sailed with my husband and 6 1/2 year old daughter. This was our 4th cruise, 2nd on Carnival.
Last time we cruised on Carnival we had great food and really enjoyed the experience so we were looking forward to trying them again. Our last cruise on Norwegian Jewel was okay, not great.
Embarkation: What everyone before has said is true, the embarkation process in Seattle is very ...
This was our 5th Carnival Cruise, the 1st to Alaska.
We flew into Seattle and stayed at Airport Hampton Inn & Suites. Nice hotel but when phoning for the hotel shuttle for pick up who knew that there are 3 Hampton chain hotels at the airport so be sure to call the correct one. Took 45 min for correct shuttle bus to pick us up (this was after 4 hr flight delay in Chicago) and arriving at 1130 ...
Embarkation was very smooth and easy. Being in a Grand Vista Suite (cabin 7347) we had priority boarding and disembarkation. Everyone was very friendly, and extremely helpful. We had friends that the process moved very smoothly also and they didn't board "priority". Cabin was fantastic. A lot of room, magnificent views while cruising, very peaceful. All of the staff that we encountered were ...
We thought by the way our friends said that the carnival miracle was very good to take. The price did warrant me from going the price was just too high 2400.00 pp with two nights at a local hotel and airfare round trip from Florida. Our agent says that this is the right price to pay> But how was I supposed to know that he overcharged us a lot. After we were forced to pay the balance of our cruise ...
This was a relatively inexpensive vacation booked last minute, as no air fare or hotel was needed. I had a large premium balcony on my Alaska cruise on the Spirit last year - this year the goal was to cruise cheap & get in my last one to reach platinum. I booked an inside cabin in the bowels of the ship but thankfully a 4K opened up a couple days later, and I nabbed it! This particular 4k was ...
We have always wanted to go to Alaska and booking a cruise seemed like an easy way to do it. Now, of course, I want to go back to explore more! Our first family cruise was Royal Caribbean, but the lines and getting on and off the ship was tiring. Then, we wanted to try something more upscale and tried Princess; the older crowd and lack of entertainment (or shall I say senior entertainment) was ...
Getting to the Port:
We stayed in a suburb of Seattle for a few days before the cruise, so we rented a car from the Dollar Rent a Car downtown office (1900 Boren Ave, Seattle, 98101, 206-682-1316). When we returned the car, they drove us to the cruise pier free of charge. It took about 15 minutes to get to the pier from the car rental office on Boren Ave. Plan lots of extra time to get to the ...
We had an outside cabin #1172. It had a large picture window. Our daughter Kym sailed with us and stayed in the same room. It was big enough for the three of us. Pat's sister & husband and their daughter were a few cabins down the hall. The service was outstanding from the cabin steward to the dining hall and the Lido Deck staff. Everyone made us feel at home. The shore excursions were great. In ...
After taking two previous cruises to the sunny locales in the Caribbean, we decided to venture to the Great White North and check out Alaska. It was fantastic. The Carnival Miracle is a true "fun ship" and the crew did a great job to help us enjoy our time on board. We departed from Seattle fora 7-day cruise on May 21, 2013 and cruised to Tracy Arm's Fjord, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchican and British ...
