I had high hopes about my first cruise with Costa. Needless to say they were wasted.
This 2 week cruise was part of a six week package which incuded 4 weeks with P&O.
Information about the Costa cruise line was sparse as my booking agent had not had dealings with them before.
So here's your feedback.
Pay for water!
No free tea or coffee after breakfast!
Surly staff who don't ...
So I just got home from my first Costa Cruise (Feb. 2020/SE Asia). There was SO much question about Costa going into it. We choose Costa because, quite frankly it was the ONLY ship that went to our desired destination at the exact time we could go. Otherwise, honestly, after reading reviews on Costa, I would have chosen any other line if offered by another line as my husband and I are Princess, ...
I will not go on a cruise with Costa company anymore. Cruise was not well administered, we encountered problems at Singapore immigration due to problems with paperwork that should have been provided by the company on disembark and were not; complete lack of information on which marina to board the ship in Singapore with hundreds of passengers including ourselves going to wrong address; atrocious ...
For people who are not used to paying for water in the 'free' restaurants, this is not for you. You can only get free water from the buffet restaurant. Tea and coffee only free flow in morning and tea time.
They do have some packages for drinks, but it's only worth it if you're a fan of alcohol. Wifi on board is quite weak in the cabin but good in the lounge.
Dining wise it'd say the ...
Embarkation was very disappointing. There was absolutely no system of boarding the ship. On board everything was Italian themed. Even the quizzing and bingo was in Italian. If you are sailing in international waters you need to make allowances for other passengers as well because not only are Italians travelling on your ship but other nationalities. I think one of the bars should have had ...
First of all, the cruise was cheap. 8 nights in outside premium with 250 MB internet and drink package including both wine, beer, cocktails and special coffee and included gratitude (service) for 700 $ per person.
So expectations of course needs to be in relation to what paid.
First the positive:
-Itinerary is great with stop in Port Klang, Langkawi, Phuket (2 days), Penang och Malacca. ...
So I've read a lot of bad reviews about this ship and they are not true at all. I've cruised Costa before as well as Princess, Celebrity, NCL, RCI etc..
To start with it's worth saying that this is not an American cruise line, its quintessential European (Italian) and you get what you pay for!
We paid for a suite for the same price of an ocean view on a similar Celebrity cruise itinerary of ...
We were due to sail on the new flagship Costa Smeralda but as it's launch was delayed our booking was cancelled. Costa offered a deal on alternative itineraries and we chose a 15 night trip to the Far East on Fortuna. On reading the reviews after booking we wondered whether we had made a huge mistake. Happily for us we found the ship to be much better than we had expected from the reviews. ...
Went on Costa Fortuna for about 2 weeks (2 adults 2 children) just came back. We have great things to say about the staff in restaurants, buffet and room service. The food was good and catered for food allergies. Although that’s it for the positives the rest was terrible. Spa manager was very rude, not all the gym classes booked online are available on ship. Took 6 attempts to get refunded. Kids ...
Would not be shy to admit that kids travel free was a bid draw for me. Secondly, was attracted to the itinerary from singapore to Koh Samui to laem chabang(ie. Bankok or Pattaya) and Cambodia. Love the fact that it was docked at Laem Chabang for 2 days so had more than enough time to explore and enjoy the stopover, which we did by signing up for a 2d Bangkok & Ayutthaya tour. It was a pretty ...
