We chose this cruise as it suited our dates and meeting up with friends from the other side of the world. Costa cruises have not understood what they are selling - it seems they think they provide a transport when they SHOULD provide an experience for their customers! * Very poor service - always long queues at the hospitality service, who where the only ones to answer any questions, even though they didn´t understand the language. Poor service. * Additional costs, which you didn´t know about. * Poor service at the cabins, we had bought a full drinking package which included minibars - but they didn´t fill it up or they filled it up with what they had on their carriage - meaning Sprite, Coke. No water. * Very poor foodquality at main dinner! And slow service - they didn´t know how to serve at a table. Unexperienced, untrained personel..... Very rude Head waiters! As I wrote before - I wonder if they know why they are there! For whom...... * they asked us to fill in 9-10 on their evaluation - because they had all these 900 personel working up to 12 hours a day, 5-11 months a year, without any days off - which they were bragging about. I should be embarrased to say that at all!!!! Maybe that is why they cannot fulfill their work - they are exhausted... Summary, bad service and bad organisation. It is so little needed for the customer to be satisfied. And they failed it totally!!! DO NOT BUY A CRUISE WITH THE COSTA FORTUNA! Read Less

I was quit apprehensive after booking for this cruise which fitted well with my schedule after having read some not so nice reviews. All these were dispelled after completing this cruise.I juz can't find any disappointment with this trip except the embarkation process took slightly more than 2 hrs and some younger waiters were inexperienced during the breakfasts served in thr dining room. The ship had a very capable and hospitable crew though at times, it was difficult to communicate because of language problems. The food was good and more than sufficient which were served at my table. My room was exceedingly spacious and comfortable. The entertainment each evening was spontaneous, professional and exciting. I would however, appreciate if free water could be served for those having their dinners at Raffalelo and Michelangelo. I am glad that I have chosen this cruise. i will definitely participate in costa cruises again if my schedule permits Read Less

I travelled with my wife and children to Port Klang and Phuket recently. We had quite an enjoyable time as this was our first trip aboard a ship. Despite the many shortcomings - shower not very hot, food quite average only, difficulty to find our way going through several rooms, no mineral waters in cabin and few pillows only, we had a fun time generally. We enjoyed the night shows, music and walkabouts around the ship. Perhaps, the coffee served could have been better as some guest look forward to it in the mornings. Also, the tours organised at Klang and Phuket were too short for shopping and sight-seeing. The organisation by CTC tours was orderly and well managed generally though. Overall, we had a good time as the room was kept clean daily and comfortable. We would like to compliment the waiters at Michelangelo for their excellent service, especially Janice Raj and Fahrul who were extraordinary in their service throughout our dining time there. We were entertained without any delay and were even served beyond our expectation. On the last night of our trip, Fahrul even surprised me being a vegetarian with an Indian food that really touched our hearts. These 2 gentlemen are definitely wonderful ambassadors to your fleet who made our day special. Read Less

We have been here 4 days 3 night .this is my first time cruises with my children .firstly the ship looks big and we imagine inside the ship was a great super place with more entertainment and activities but then make us so dissapointed no entertainment and activities suitable for children just show theather and singing ,dancing from the pub make children looks so bore .one of the thing got is only have swimming pool and the sling pool, but the sling pool always in maintain and cannot play it . Nothing got to do there except we can only do is go back to cabin to sleep .i forgot how many pool at there but firstly I looks is no interest for me because is small looks like a children only can swim. Second the food is very poor we 4 days here just only eat the same food so teribble .... and for my second day board on phuket just wasting we time there .System so poor we think we can on board at phuket for 6 hours but for me only 2 half hours we got .we need to rush my time there . Firstly must go to counter take a number and I got my number as 20 and waiting for my number to call, make us so tired and waste my time .Some shop are in maintain also . Read Less

Embarkation from Marina Bay Cruise Centre was a breeze.There was sufficient manpower to direct the guests. They took notice of guests with young children or aged guests. We took 15min to board since we brought along aged parents. HOWEVER, disembarkation at the same port at the end of the cruise was a nightmare because 2000 guests were leaving at the same time. Despite being assigned staggered disembarkation timings, it was one big pandemonium at the exit points. We were assigned the first group for disembarkation but the meeting point was already congested.So, we were sandwiched for an hour like in a subway peak hour carriage. Disembarkation at other ports were uneventful.I wished we were offered a cold drink or a cold towel though. All guests should note, the check-in luggage porters can only accomodate suitcase/trolley luggages. Sports utility bags,shopping bags, backpacks are out. I think guests who are travelling alone will appreciate the availability of single cabins, considerate dining arrangements of table for twos at the buffet corner, as well as in the restaurants. The water slide was closed. The gym was closed after second day. The pools were crowded. Sigh! Considering that the ship is plying around Southeast Asia which is humid, hot, and wet weather all roll into one, the absence of ice-cream parlours, water coolers and memories of seeing long queues of people filling their water bottles and milk bottles at the buffet stands were a sorry sight. One last caution. Pasta is freeflowing. Pizzas? You have to pay. I am sorry but I missed Costa Victoria. Read Less

My children is looking forward and excited play slide pool in cruise. When go in cruise. We are very disappointed with slide pool close for maintenance. I felt let people lie me to join this cruise. I join this cruise 5days 4 night. Everyday looked a pool cannot play. Omg, cannot play,... What??? Purposely bring my children's to enjoy slide pool in cruise. But this 4 days close for maintenance. I pay is not worth money and my expectation. My children keeping asking me "why not allowed to play" im not idea to answe her. I will advice Better to ask more information before join. I'm also complain to. Customer services.. They just help to record. They also waiting maintenence team to response. Secondly Waiters is helpful and good services to everyone guest. They will help to answer every question to customer. For the food services is delicious especially western food.. Italia food. One thing is important the workers is honestly Read Less

We travel in a party of 11 which every one is experienced cruise traveller. The only reason that our family chose this cruise is the period time of the cruise. I am so disappointed with almost every thing including poor boarding, bad dinner, stinct lobster, worst breakfast, too limited choices of lunch, wrong, ineffective and annoying announcement, poor quality announcer, too limited tender boats causing too long line, bad organizing, etc. It took us more than an hour for boarding with limited assistance of staff. The only meat I found at breakfast was corned beef, no sausage, bacon nor ham. Pork bun was terrible. At dinner, the lobster we ordered and was supposed to pay extra was stinct. It was probably frozen for years thus the meat was unfresh and yucky. Supervisor seemed to avoid responsibility once first informed. At an island where anchored, only 3 tender boats with a capacity of 110 pax per boat were prepared. Only passengers who bought excursions can disembark at 8 a.m. Queing of the rest passengers lasted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every one has to come back to boat before 4.30 p.m.!!! What an absurd organizing. I encountered the problems with cabin facilities including hair dryer, hot water and blinking light. The latter was not able to solve even the technician came. Announcement was made with wrong information and ineffectively. It was made in the early morning to room thus annoying sleeping guests. Oh...there is a lot more to share. That should be enough to refrain all potential travelers from the ship. What a horrible cruise. The worst ever indeed. Read Less

Just come back from Costa Fortuna, can never be worse! 1. My wife got hurt seriously in one of the viewing elevator with a narrower inner half. She got bumped at the sharp angle while forcing back by an incoming flooding crowd of passengers. Why didn't they installed some protective layers on the angles to protect their customers? 2. Shower: very weak. Repairman said already fixed. Hard to take bath normally! 3. Air conditioning: too warm. Repairman said already fixed. Must be on. No one can turn it off. You just can change the combination of hot air and cold air. The problem was even we turn it to all cold air, it is still pumping out warm air. It made us sick throughout the journey. 4. Difficult to locate some restaurants. No straight road. You have to go upstairs and go downstairs again to some of the places. 5. Not really free from smoking in non-smoking areas, both outdoor & indoor! 6. Change of itinerary with short notice. 7. No free toothbrushes, no free toothpaste, no free bottled water. Why didn't they inform us in advance? 8. Only two sockets (including one in bathroom) for 2-round-pin electric plug, no sockets for 3-flat-pin electric plug type G (that of United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, Malaysia & Singapore etc.). No changer, adaptor or extended sockets provided. 9. No free Wi-Fi and all paid Wi-Fi are very weak. Passengers of cabin 1005, 26th to 30th December, 2017 (with Vietnam onshore on 2017.12.28). My wife really enjoyed the shows performed by the Italian / western artists and paid extra to watch the late night show. My boy liked the play group. There were 136 children in the group and the staff appeared overwhelmed. All later activities required the participation of a parent. The cruise should have allocated more staff to take care of the children so the parents could go and play, even for an hour. I liked the ship tour. The cruise app worked very well on my Android phone. I could use the app to call the phone of my room. But it didn't work on my wife's iPhone. The cruise appeared to provide free data occasionally. I did subscribe to the cruise data plan, however. The sea between Naha and Taiwan was very rough and once the lift I rode stopped abruptly for a few seconds because the ship tilted too much. Luckily the ship crossed the sea at night but I still felt the ship went up and down 10 feet when lying on my bed for a few hours. On the first day in Naha we disembarked at 12 noon. We went to Shuri Castle, Urasoe Dai Park, and Kokusai Doori. I wanted to go to Hacksaw Ridge, which is 30 mins hike from the Urasoe Dai Park, but we spent too much time in the playground and it was getting dark so we skipped the Ridge. On the second day we disembarked at 10am and went to Omoromachi. We briefly visited Okinawa Prefectural Museum, and went to the supermarket to purchase some food and cookies. The ship would leave at 12:30 noon so we were in a hurry. The plug of the bathroom sink stuck. I called the operator at 2am and a repairman arrived in 10 minutes to fix it We were fortunate to have this Italian cruise experience. I have heard the Fortuna is heading back to Europe in 2019. We live in Hong Kong and boarded the ship heading to Naha at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. The ship stopped at Naha for two days then sailed back to Hong Kong. We spent our 2017 Christmas Day on the ship. See my pictures. They worth thousands words I guess. Read Less
