The highlight of this cruise was to visit Jamestown, however after only two hours at anchor at St. Helena, the captain set sail for 6 days at sea saying we could not tender in. The ocean was calm but you could see waves crashing against the wharf. I queried why we could have not waited until afternoon to see if the waves would have subsided and his response was that there wasn’t enough time in ...
I’ve read numerous reviews about Regent claiming they have slipped and are no longer a true luxury line.
Don’t believe it for a minute!
We sailed on the Seven Seas Voyager from Cape Town to Rio and LOVED our crossing. We booked a Penthouse Suite, one of the smaller suites with a Butler, and were totally impressed with the cabin, the service, the food, and yes, even the aging ship which is ...
Our flights, pre/post cruise hotels and transfers were all arranged by Regent. On arrival we were informed that we would be notified about embarkation details - but we weren't. On the morning of embarkation, several hundred guests along with several hundred suitcases were all seen milling around awaiting 5 coaches to take us to Seven Seas Voyager. Two of our party of 4 had mobility problems and ...
Cruise fell so far below expectations, frequent cruisers, sailed with Regent several times and normally fabulous but Ship is tired, rooms far from luxurious. Problems from start, transfers from hotel and embarkation absolutely chaotic. We both became unwell by end of first week this was before ship officially announced that they had a serious problem, they said only a few people sick but levels ...
This was a 15 day cruise sailing from Cape Town up the West Coast of South Africa to Namibia, back to Cape Town then up the East Cost of South Africa to Mozambique then back to Cape Town. We did the 4 day pre-cruise land program - Winelands and Wildlife, which had us staying in a hotel in downtown Cape Town. That was not a good introduction to Cape Town, South Africa or Regent. The hotel was not ...
First time Regent clients here and thoroughly disappointed. The Penthouse suite we stayed in was very nice, but also tired. The Butler service overhyped and unnecessary in our opinion - just canapés delivered daily and a mini bar also topped up daily - only it wasn’t and required reminders. The vast majority of their waiting staff and all of the housekeeping teams were fabulous. The reception ...
After having a wonderful cruise on the Mariner in June we decided we wanted to book Regent again and what a complete difference between the 2 cruises
Most of the staff was very miserable, hardly any staff ever smiled.
Shore excursion desk the staff looked like don’t bother me and go away
Wifi unacceptable
Food compared to Mariner was terrible, i think the chef and food director were ...
Really nice cruise, although getting on a bit the ship was well maintained. The food was lovely the staff and service perfect. The internet was awful, the entertainment was Ok but on one occasion brilliant, The Spa is just usury a ridiculous quote of 249 dollars was offered for a deep tissue massage and 140 for my wife to have her nails done, this is just greed and I would avoid the spa on these ...
We mostly chose this cruise for the amazing itinerary. Iceland, Norway, Shetland Islands, Amsterdam and Bruges Belgium which did not disappoint. The crew was absolutely amazing, they just couldn’t do enough for us and we’re always asking if there was anything else we needed or wanted. Many knew our names a drink preferences by the third day. We were treated like royalty. Voyager is 23 years old ...
We have cruised many times before - but this was a step up for us in terms of quality ( and price ) but the all inclusive fare was brilliant . Compared to other cruise experiences I think what you are paying for is space - both in the suite which was a really good size ( and the first time we had more storage than we needed for clothes ) , but also in the public areas where we never had to wait ...
