My wife and I like getting the history of the Caribbean. So visiting the islands and taking the tours is a wonderful way to get the history. We are committed to Royal Caribbean. We don't think you can get a better deal, or quality cruise line for your money. Serenade is laid out very well to get around on. We had an ocean view cabin, and loved the available storage, and view. We just booked our ...
RCCL has made some changes that I do not like, but they are not just for Serenade. They have cut out providing toiletries in the bathroom so plan to bring your own. Also the little pat of soap was almost useless. I suggest bringing good soap especially if you want to use an antibacterial soap. This class of ship is much easier to get around on and has the lovely Centrum instead of those ...
Family needed a short cruise due to school and work vacations. It was cold most of the time, especially in Key West on Wednesday. So, lots of time was spent on ship.
Room size was great but little signs everywhere showed the age of the ship.
Food was adequate except for scrambled eggs. They were downright awful. I ask the chef in windjammer to make scramble eggs for me. They were worse than ...
The Serenade of the Seas is a smaller boat. The service is better and the crowds are less, which is nice, but some of the activities lacked enough people, but we had the opportunity to meet the captain and head chef multiple times. The ship is in great condition. The cabin is a cabin. Dining was excellent. Waiter was excellent. Junah took the time to cut my son's steak every night for him. ...
I have waited a month to do this review because of the negative energy I knew it would take. Before I finish my gripe I want to give a kudos to the few people that deserve it. Orion our stateroom attendant was amazing,he took great care of us all day everyday! Orion was always smiling and always happy the way you would want someone to treat you while on vacation. Lee and Randy in the Pub were ...
I choose this cruise because it covered Christmas and New Years. The ship was very short staffed. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but way overworked. Could never get anyone's attention to get what we needed in dining room. Saw the waiter when they took your order and brought the food 30 minutes later but then never again not even to remove the dirty dishes so we stacked them on the ...
Embarkation was smooth and the rooms were ready by 1:00PM, which for a ship that started check-in at noon was nice to not have to worry about a packed Windjammer deep into the lunch hours. The ship was as I remembered it during a past 16 day Transatlantic, still clean, pleasant staff, quiet areas to hang out, and decent sized fitness facility for the number of passengers. The ports of call was ...
Chose this cruise to have a Christmas vacation trip with minimal planning. Would not go again at Christmas time. Huge crowds at airports on 12/21, less so on 1/2. Many, many children on the ship. Teenagers took over the Vortex lounge on Deck 13 near the end of the trip, ruining the nice auiet spot we’d found. Kids’ behavior in the Windjammer buffet dining room pushy and non-hygienic. Actually saw ...
The Diamond lounge fills to capacity by 4:15, prior to service at 4:30. The lounge seats about 34 guests and the Lounge attendant will absolutely not open the door to the adjoining Viking lounge. He watched Diamond members stream in between 4:30 and 5 pm see no vacant seats and leave; or simply order a drink and walk round to the Viking Loung.
About the third night of an eleven night cruise ...
We chose this ship because were traveling with family and thought the Christmas cruise would suit all of us. We were willing to pay the extra for what we thought was a special holiday cruise. It did not feel that special.
Let me say to begin with that we have been on many cruises with many lines of all classes and 5 on RC. This was the worst. The staff were very good although pressed because ...
