Picked this cruise because of the ports - Zeebruge, Le Havre, Hambyrg
Embarkation in Amsterdam was pretty smooth.
Food - the hours when the buffet and restaurants open are pretty odd, the lunch is available from 12 to 3 when almost everybody off the ship (most of the ports hours were from 8 to 20). When people are back to the ship everything is closed until 7 pm and the the buffet is open ...
This is the worse cruise ever, not sure where to start. First the positive lifts are great, no waiting as plenty of them.
Now the negatives, staff are rude, miserable and clearly not there to please, food in restaurant was appalling and water has to be paid for. Serve yourself buffet has a better choice but a majority of people have chosen that over restaurant clearly as queuing is horrendous ...
Embarkation
We picked this cruise because the dates fitted our needs and it was departing from the UK. I've cruised extensively with multiple cruise lines, but this was only my friend's second time at sea having travelled with P&O last time. It was relatively inexpensive at around £680 for the week including a drinks package.
Embarkation was disappointing. We were 2 of only 65 guests joining ...
The ship sailed from a different port in Amsterdam than all the other ships. Many people went to the wrong port on embarkation day and had to take a 40 Euro Uber ride to the correct port. The itinerary was good with long days in port. The dining options were VERY limited. There were times that all the restaurants & buffets were closed. Not even coffee or Ice Cream machine. When they were open ...
The furnishings in the cabin looked well used.
The ship is getting old but it is still seaworthy.
The staff gave conflicting answers to simple questions asked.
A inexpensive Wi-Fi program was offered to counter the expensive charges on regular internet programs. Unfortunately this program was useless as you could not get your emails.
Some of the water dispensers in the buffet lines ...
We chose this holiday because the cruise around the United Arab Emirates was a part of the world we had not visited before. I thought the process of getting on board and to our cabin was very good. The ship décor is based on 18th Century Italian architecture, a little over the top but looks great. I thought the ship was well designed and has a very good gym and spa.. There are a good range of ...
We were part of a Group travel to the Middle East (Dubai+Abu Dhabi+Sir Bani Was Island-UAE, Muscat-Oman for 14 days). We truly enjoyed our group travel but we cannot say we enjoyed Costa, the only positive out of the cruise is that they spoke French which is our first language but we also are fluent in English. We have been on RCC and Celebrity ships and really nothing to compare. The ship is old ...
We chose this cruise especially for the weather in this region at this time of the year. We traveled with a group of sixteen people. Four families with children between 15 and 23 years old.The procedure for boarding and disembarking was childishly simple and hardly time consuming.
You can see that the ship comes at age but everything was in excellent condition. And the staff were visibly busy ...
Our worst cruise ever and, as from the UK , little attention was paid to any of our grievances. Italians came first every time. Some ship announcements were only given in Italian. The Hospitality staff had no idea what the word meant and were constantly rude and unhelpful. The food was awful and the buffet had often run out of food and no attempt was made to replenish supplies. There was no ...
Have just returned from short cruise, and was concerned on the poor reviews on Costa Cruises. However, we found very little to complain about, and thought it excellent value. Embarkation was very easy, our premium balcony cabin was large, clean and comfortable. The decor on the ship in public areas is rather gaudy, but as someone pointed out, by the second day you didn’t notice it! The food was ...
