Just off the Carnival Glory

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Glory

My partner and I just got off the Glory last week on a five day NYC/Canada cruise. We took the subway from our apartment and strolled to the boarding area about 11am with no problems, check in was a breeze and we were onboard by 11:30. I was a bit surprised that the only viable option for lunch was the Red Sail buffet on the Lido Deck, but I wasn't fazed in the least. We went up, found a ...

This was our second family cruise (3 adults and 2 teens, 1 tween). Our first was to Bermuda on the Celebrity Summit (2011). We had a great time in Bermuda and the food and service on the Summit was outstanding so we felt like probably this would be less on a Carnival Cruise based on reading the reviews. Not so many family oriented activities on the Summit but the shows were very nice for a ...

Enjoyed Carnival Glory (Aug 16-20)

It's my kids first time and I wanted them to enjoy it that I read cruise critic for six months so I know what tips to give them. I told them about the things I read here including bullies in the arcade, dry food and towels and invisible people hogging the chairs. I didn't tell them about the GI virus since I consider that an isolated incident and not really about the cruise. Embarkation - as ...

This cruise was a family reunion for my uncle's 50th anniversary, so the line and destination were decided on by their family. The group included seniors down to young children. We traveled with my daughter (10) and son (2.5). The embarkation was well done, not too long of a line, although we got several pre-embarkation emails from Carnival. One that moved back our time to 2:00 (which also said ...

First of all, "funship" should be your safety term for a family cruise. Its amazing how many reviews up here complain of a oasis of crying babies and kids running wild. And if you cruise during family peak times, such as the last week in August like I did, or anytime when school is out really, lets just say you are not going to get a boat full of the Century Village whale watching and star gazing ...

We enjoyed our vacation on the Glory, and I would like to share a few items that were memorable, and some that need improvement. I am a grandmother traveling with my 34 year old daughter and 9 year old grandson. I have cruised for fifty years and have sailed over a dozen ships. embarkation was easier but could have been quicker had Luis at Carnival phone extention number 82687 told me that I had ...

This was our 4th cruise on Carnival. We wanted to venture to a new destination other than the Bahamas, so we chose Canada. We live in North Carolina and prefer to drive to the ports, and found New York was similar driving distance for us as to Miami. We stayed in Lyndhurst NJ prior to the trip for a couple of days and explored New York City as part of our trip. The port in New York was ...

This was my second cruise with Carnival (first being an 8 day on the Miracle earlier this year). The five day cruise left much to be desired. There were 2 ports - St. John and Halifax - both of which were beautiful and the time spent there was enjoyable. However, there were issues with the trip, unlike the Miracle experience which was 5 star. Some of these are picky, but in total, they ...

We were on the August 25, 2012 5 night sailing of the Glory to Saint John & Halifax. I think a little background is helpful when reading reviews so here goes. I have sailed 55 times on various cruise lines. This was my 7th cruise on Carnival. Also sailing with us was our son, daughter in law and our 6-year-old granddaughter. This was the first cruise for our daughter in law and granddaughter. Our ...

Fun ship and family, What more do you need?

This 5 night cruise was our second (first was Carnival Freedom, same ship size/layout) and it wasn't boring the second time around! Exiting/entering NYC harbor is far more exciting than Florida, especially crossing Lady Libery, passing under the Verrazano Bridge etc. Sailing away and returning home were memorable moments. Saint John and Halifax aren't exciting in the sense that the ...
