Loved the Glory

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Glory

I chose this cruise becaue I haven't done a western itinerary in a while. Loved Eric Broehman (the CD) and the entire staff and crew of the ship. The embarkation process was not the best and from all accounts, it seemed to be because of the Vista docked right in front of the Glory. With so many passengers, ti took time for them to disembark which backed everything up on the embarkation of the ...

My mother and aunt took this exact cruise a few years ago. They recommended it to us. The staff was wonderful. Danny Boy was our room steward and Jeffrie was our head waiter. Both were funny and friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We tried the steakhouse and really enjoyed it. Eric Brouman, the cruise director, was hilarious and friendly. The ship was decorated for the holidays. It was ...

Great ports and staff but...

We found the Glory to be old and run down, Everywhere you looked bits were broken or missing and it took away from the experience. We did see uncooked food left out for hours in public spaces which left us feeling concerned about our safety. Sadly we will never sail on this ship again. The staff were great, no complaints at all. This trip we found the ship very rocky a problem only if you get sea ...

This was my first cruise and I am thoroughly impressed. I can see why people become avid cruisers. From the minute we boarded to the minute we stepped off, I felt like a VIP. The crew was fantastic - friendly, genuinely interested, engaged in the conversation. They addressed you by name (they actually remembered our name). They anticipated your needs. They made you feel like family. Entertainment ...

Pretty disappointed overall

I chose this cruise because I had sailed with Carnival before and remember it being much better. I am NOT picky. I usually look at the glass half full, and I really do try and view things positively. This is an older ship, and that part didn't bother me at all. The first problem I experienced was the dining room. We were in the Platinum dining room. This was our HONEYMOON. We were sat with ...

Hurry Up and Wait

It felt like everything on this cruise involved waiting. It was a huge line for embarkation, but I figured once we were on the boat it wouldn't be a problem. Then, getting off the boat on the tender days took hours, unless you booked a Carnival excursion, same with getting back on the boat on Grand Cayman. This is probably easier for adults to handle, but we were traveling with two kids (ages 2 ...

First Carnival Cruise

First impressions are everything. I took this cruise to help complete a CLIA MCC requirement and to learn the Carinval brand from first hand experience. Checking in the rep Nicole with 21 years experience with Carnival could care less that I was an agent from a major franchise traveling. I inquired about anything I could do to upgrade my experience on-board aside from the chef table I pre-booked. ...

Not So Glorious

Let me start by saying we have been on 8 cruises so far. We mostly cruise on Carnival but have gone on Royal Caribbean a couple of times. Our last cruise on Carnival was over three years ago and we just came back from sailing on Carnival Glory over Thanksgiving week. We left out of Miami to the Western Caribbean for 7 nights. The EMBARKATION was a total mess. I do not ever remember having to ...

Good Beginner Cruise

Ok, my mother taught me that if I can't say anything nice I shouldn't say anything at all. However, I spent a lot of time and energy researching and reading reviews prior to this cruise and I hope my experience is helpful to others. First, we have cruised on Carnival and other lines previously (4 other cruises total). We were a group of 11 with 4 cabins (5 teenagers). I would absolutely ...

Biggest waste of time and money

The cruise had terrible sewer gas smell in cabin and on deck. 1st told that there was no problem, then continuously they are work on problem. But issue was never solved. The food was never served hot, just warm, the lobster was rubber, bake potatoes never done. Maintenance workers wanted to work in ceiling above you and your food while having breakfast. Would of like to hear more ...
