This ship is old ( 22 year's ) and seems to suffer problems that cannot be fixed. Our balcony room was hot and was never fixed time after time maintenance showed up to fix it they would leave the room sweating and the problem had not been corrected. Also rooms were flooding with backed up toilets and we also had issues that were fixed at 3 am.
The food in the buffet was always cold. The ...
My husband and I went on the 28 day Grand Israel/Mediterranean/Trans-Atlantic cruise last November/December. We met amazing people and had a fantastic time. Our favorites? We loved the twice-daily trivia competitions as well as the evening musical trivia. We also loved the crew-led games/entertainment. (The cruise director for our first segment was fantastic!) The food was good-to-great ...
We chose this cruise for the destinations more specifically Israel and Ephesus. I had incorrectly assumed that due to no sailings during co-vid and that the ship had been in for refurb that it would be refreshed. This sadly was not the case. They installed their medallion system and removed the aft adult pool, hotter and bar area to make room for more cabins. The ship looked and felt tired, the ...
SUMMARY
The main reason for joining this cruise is the chance see the Northern Lights, as the Ports visited are not very interesting, especially when it is cold and wet. Island Princess is now the smallest ship in the Princess Fleet (as is Coral Princess), has limited dining options and only two main lounges. Food and service were good. Daytime entertainment was poor but we had a great bunch ...
Island Princess provided us with the classic experience we look for in a ship. No waterslides, bumper cars, or go-kart tracks. Of course, this itinerary attracted quite an elderly group of guests anxious to complete their bucket list by searching for the Northern Lights. The weather was what we were prepared for as it was mostly overcast, rainy, and windy. The scenery was spectacular in the ...
From the moment we stepped onto the ship, we received excellent service by every crew member we encountered. Yes, the ship is a little older and a little smaller than others, but that did not deter from our experience. We had a full suite which was clean and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed the Club Class Dining which came with that. The food was mostly delicious - a few misses now and then - ...
Princess Cruise Island Princess
Southampton rt to Ireland, Iceland, & Greenland
August 12, 2022 16 nights
I love my Holland-America cruises and they rank at the top of my list. My time on the Island Princess could upset the order. She is an older, mid-size ship. She didn’t appear old but for a few reminders in my bathroom and the broken steam rooms in the thermal spa. I prefer smaller ...
We’ve just come back from a fabulous cruise on Island Princess. We had so much fun and made lots of new friends. There were a few niggles, which I’ve highlighted here but nothing that spoiled our enjoyment.
Embarkation was really easy and fast. Having used the Medallion app to upload all our details, we sailed through check-in and was on board within 15 mins. Two days before the cruise, ...
Sue and I came home Monday from the August 12th Greenland Iceland cruise out of Southampton on the Island Princess.
We are really are hoping that on our next cruise that we have a different experience or we may cancel the 7 other cruises we currently booked with Princess.
Greenland and Iceland were awesome and the Captain took a detour through Prince Christian Sound that nothing less than ...
Felt three day prior to embarkation witnessed lateral flow test total waste of time and money...test at embarkation far better.
Happy Princess stated masks should be worn walking around ship, on tenders and on coach tours but disappointed not fully implemented... about 10 per cent not wearing masks anytime!
Very good cabin D421, spacious and comfortable but beverage tray not standard as ...
