Iceland was on my bucket list. I also liked the Ireland (Cork) and Scottish (Shetland) ports as well.
We had a rough start with a scorching hot state room ... that would not could down.. I had to be very insistent to finally get someone down to determine that the room was not getting adequate air flow. Our first port was Hallifax, which was nice. A few days at sea... then 3 Icelandic ...
We had very good experience on another Princess cruise, and wanted to take one through the Panama Canal. This one proved to be just as good. Food, stateroom, entertainment, and service were of high quality. As expected. We enjoyed the luxury and attention to detail. Communication was efficient.
There were some glitches with their MedallionClass app, which were handled by the staff as best they ...
This cruise met our time and destination requirements. The Island Princess is just the right size to go thru the old locks of the Panama Canal. Having sailed on this ship in the past we knew it was one of the best in the Princess fleet.
The people we met on the ship were wonderful. The Crooners bar was the prime meeting place on the ship for a great many people. We certainly looked forward ...
We chose this cruise as we wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal. And this cruise totally delivered on that. We experienced going through the canal from the Miraflores, the Pedro Miguel, and then the Gatun locks. We received a lot of really good history and information on the region, and got to see the locks in action.
As an added bonus, the food aboard was excellent. Hence we ...
I have looked forward to doing a full transit in the OLD locks - and finally did it! But that takes time (15 days) and a smaller ship (Island or Coral on Princess). There were some stumbles on board because she spent over 700 days out of service - and had only been in service for 15 days when we boarded. Some A/C issues were still being addressed. The crew worked feverishly to make everything ...
I know many people don't understand the seriousness of food related illnesses and allergies.
When I alter a dish or ask for the special menu I expect an eyeroll and an "in my day..." comment from those around me. What I don't expect is to be treated like the staff is feeding scaps to a bilge rat.
I was fed succotash with asian sweet & sour sauce, a raw onion taco, cold crunchy red ...
I have been on many cruises with various lines and this ranks as the worst. This was a back to service cruise and had I been advised that from the beginning I probably wouldn’t have gone. The internet didn’t work half the time. The medallion worked for a few things the first week but did get better the second. Making reservations for the restaurants never worked correctly. My friend and I always ...
I choose this cruise because it was going through the Panama Canal and was going to have a stop in Panama. The itinerary was changed and it didn't stop in Panama. That was disappointing.
Food in dining rooms and buffet was just ok. Nothing special. That was disappointing.
However, the pizza on the upper deck was outstanding.
Performers were good but selection of entertainment was ...
Just to start, let me say I LOVE Princess cruises! This was our 6th cruise with them, and even tho this cruise had been out of commission for 2 yrs, u would swear they just did it yesterday....absolutely nothing went wrong, everything was perfect and our needs were anticipated and met...every....single.....time.......from check-in that took all of 10 mins, getting to our room, our luggage arriving ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary. My husband wanted warm weather and was very interested in seeing the old locks of the Panama Canal. While we enjoyed the smaller size of the Island princess because nothing was ever very far we really missed the international cafe on other ships where you could sit in piazza and relax, The on board entertainment was very good and the crew while this ...
