Delayed a Day, Missing Port of Call

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Island Princess

The ship was coming out of dry dock to commence this cruise, and, owing to unanticipated problems in dry dock, did not come out until a day late. There was simply an email from Princess (the evening prior to when we were otherwise scheduled to embark) informing that we'd be embarking a day late, and it was up to us to make arrangements for an extra/unanticipated day in Fort Lauderdale. There ...

The Perfect Cruise

The Cruise staff was excellent. We were treated like we were Bill Gates by all. The ship was a day late for Embarkation, but Princess gave us a very fair compensation. The actual Embark took less than 10 minutes. The shows were outstanding. It was like going to a Las Vegas Show every night. We particularly enjoyed the two violinist and cello Trio. Our room was spotless. The ...

Great Captain and Cruise Director

We chose this cruise due to the cost and wanting to do a Panama transit. We had previously did a Panama Canal cruise from Ft. Lauderdale. We live in SC and drove to Ft. Lauderdale due to the plane fare from FL being so much cheaper to LA. We used the Park n Go near the cruise port. The traffic to the port in LA was terrible due to activity at the Naval base by the cruise port. We used Princess ...

Service desk lady couldn't be bothered by getting us a new coffee card as ours got wet and was ruined. The card needs to be in a computer system.A cardboard card is not practical. She was very rude. The ship had something in the air that caused people to itch and sneeze.I was very disappointed in no back pool and another lounge that had been taken out So cabins could be added.Ship can feel crowded ...

Great Itinerary

We loved the mix of ports and days at sea. Going through the canal was also a big part of why we chose this cruise. We had great luck with the weather and had smooth seas and sunshine every single day. The ship is a bit smaller, built to fit the old canal. This makes for fewer passengers but also fewer amenities. Overall if you've cruised with Princess before this ship will be familiar as ...

Panama - Very relaxing cruise

Wanted to cross Panama off the bucket list Embarkation in Long Beach was effortless. The lineup to get to the building on the roads was long because of Memorial day services at the USS Iowa. Once out of the shuttle, the embarkation took about 20 minutes. The cruise went very smoothly. No rainy days or missed ports. The ship was due to go to drydock at the conclusion of the trip. No ...

Loved the cruise but ship very much in need of a makeover

The staff were wonderful everywhere, especially my cabin steward and the head waiter in Bordeaux dining room. Balcony was spacious unlike all the new ships like Regal & Royal with almost Juliette balconies. The cabin was adequate with a few kinks like a crooked shower head that sent the jet towards the inside wall right below the soap and shampoo dispensers which immediately washed away any ...

I enjoyed the fellowship of many Faith believing Christians on this cruise. Traveling alone they welcomed me into their group which made the trip extremely enjoyable. I was very impressed with the Sunday Services we had which were also very well attended. The crew staff were very hospitable to the extent that they knew your likes and served them when you were in their area. I was very ...

Embarkation and disembarkation went well on the cruise. Princess is a higher-standard cruise line and we will continue to sail on Princess. The service was great, staff and passengers were all pleasant and friendly. We heard over and over that the layout of this ship was very different. But it was our first Princess cruise and we don't really care what the layout of the ship ...

Average to Good

I would have to rate the overall cruise experience as average to good. We really enjoyed the sail through the Canal and the volcano tour in Nicaragua. It’s not everyday one gets to look down the mouth of a real live volcano. However, we were slightly disappointed with the amount of good entertainment and the size of the buffet room. The dancers and signers were excellent however I would have liked ...
