We were on the Island Princess for 23 days Fort Lauderdale to Buenos Aires. We enjoyed new pillow top plush beds with luxury bedding! Our balcony midship cabin was roomy. We had considered upgrading to a mini-suite but glad we did not. We had enough space and good closet space. Excursions were well organized and five stars for easy disembarking at out final port.
The staff was friendly and ...
bad mistake old ship poor condition poor service uncaring front desk staff poor food quality, choice, preparation, presentation and variety service inadequate help embarking and disembarking poor itinerary poor selection of ports poor judgement of sunday arrivals when everything in the port is closed
docked beside HOLLAND america in several ports whose officers were on the dock to meet returning ...
We were extremely satisfied with the overall ship experience in every respect. Excellent food and service in the main dinning room, average food quality and variety in buffet dining, but service was excellent. Great ship appearance after the recent dry dock. Cabin appearance was great, very comfortable bed & linens. Cabin cleaning & daily maintenance was excellent. Showers were small. Seating in ...
This was a bucket list trip on account of what seemed an awesome itinerary on paper. However one night in buenos aires was chopped, Guayaquil was taken out at the last minute and way too many shoddy industrial ports with nothing much going on forcing you to take expensive excursions with Princess. Too many slow days at sea..was a milking experience not a cruising experience. Staff were top notch ...
We have been on over 30 Princess cruises and this one was the worst. Princess has gone steadily downhill over the past 5 years but they have managed to hit a new low. The remodel of the Island Princess provides more cabins and less public space, consequently events are crowded. Everything offered by Princess was overpriced such as shore excursions, shuttle service (when offered), drinks, etc. ...
Had never traveled to South America. All new stops including Rio De Janeiro. Rio stop coincided with Carnaval. Super time at Samba Drome. Buenos Aires was beautiful. Rounding Cape Horn was exciting. Mingling with the penguins from the Faulklands was thrilling. Chile had many interesting archealogical sites to visit. Costa Rica and Cartagena were very surprising new style cities. Colombia was the ...
The first Captain "bye bye" was exceptional. Tis was also reflected throughout the entire staff. However, the management staff were just okay on their own merits. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the working staff.
The entertainment was excellent. Great choices and some amazing talent.
First rate movies both in cabin and on deck.
The food was good, not great but good. ...
This ship supposedly came out of dry dock in 2017. They certainly did not work on the superstructure. Many lights missing, with wires hanging out of poles with the ends taped. Never saw the string lights lit. Drain at aft starboard doorway on deck 14 was rotten and a hazard. From the front of the ship to aft staterooms on deck 14 required walking outside, without cover, or cutting through the ...
We wanted a longer cruise during the winter months and this fit the bill,
For the most part we have no complaints, the ship was nice and the size made it easy to get around in.
We found that the menu got to be boring as it was pretty much the same thing week after week but in all the food was fine except for the coffee. We were told that they now use a coffee syrup and many times I ...
Taking this cruise to celebrate my 70th Birthday as a single traveller was a bit of a financial hit, but I'm so glad I did it! My balcony cabin E724 on the Port side aft was perfect. The balcony can accommodate 4 chairs and a table for entertaining and it is just 5 cabins away from the underused Emerald aft deck where you can catch a glimpse of viewing on both sides of the ship! A real plus when ...
