A great cruise to Alaska on the Island

We had a great Alaska cruise on the Island Princess. While the Island mostly does the Voyage of the Glaciers route between Vancouver and Whittier, this was one of two Inside Passage cruises, round-trip from Vancouver, that the Island did at the beginning of the season. Embarkation/Disembarkation: There were 3 ships in Vancouver on the day we left, so we decided to check in early. This ...

An amazing place to visit, Alaska; beautiful little tows with amazing views. Each town was unique, pleanty of exursions to learn the culture and people of Alaska. Cruise service and itinerary kept us busy, what an enjoyable trip. I was with a scooter thruout this trip, personnel was very helpful to my needs and assisted in getting excursions to help me. Great customer service, in all details: ...

The reason we chose this was that we wanted to see Alaska and the best about this cruise was the ports and excursions. All excellent, Glacier Park was amazing, the rangers' explanations and descriptions were second to none. The resident scientist was also very informative. Apart from our cabin steward - excellent and the restaurant 'greeters; - very good but the rest of the staff were surly and ...

This was our first cruise with Princess and wont be our last. We travelled as a family of 2 adults and a 3 year old so we were not sure of how accomodating the cruise would be with a little one but it was great. Staff were super friendly and often remembered our little ones name and were always greeting him and making him feel special. Kids club was a welcomed relief with so many activities and ...

We booked a seven day cruise from Vancouver, BC to Alaska. The good news to report is that the itinerary was excellent! Be booked a full suite, C 628. The cabin was spacious, clean and well kept my our cabin steward. The fixtures and furnishings did seem somewhat obsolete. There was plenty of room for storage. The food on the ship in every dining room, including the specialty rooms ...

We took this cruise in May of 2018, but I am just now getting around to rating it. We hadn’t cruised in quite some time, over 10 years, so we had no recent comparisons to make. Since we have 2 cruises coming up, I have been reading the forums lately and thought I’d finally review our trip. Overall, we were quite pleased with our experience. Embarkation went very smoothly and the cabin was ...

We received a wonderful upgrade.During the Glacier Bay portion we were made to feel like we were sailing on our own private cruise. Our dining experience was exceptional due to Erno, our head waiter. He went above and beyond to accommodate our kosher dietary needs. The excursions were all memorable. Our self driven zodiac boat allowed to get up close and personal with humpback whales and bald ...

On the Island Princess in on a round trip from Vancouver to Alaska I found there were things I liked about the ship and some I did not. We sailed on the Coral, the sister ship, a couple of years ago and were told the two ships would go into refit, the Island first. I think it may have been feedback from that refit that has had the company keep the Coral the way it was. There is no longer a second ...

A Working Vacation

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Island Princess

I am self employed and booked this trip a couple days before departure, treating it as a working vacation with a change of scenery. Traveling alone, I just wanted to eat, sleep, and work (mostly reading). By all accounts, it was a success. Shows/Events/Bars/Casino/Internet/Pools/Excursions: Didn’t do a single one, so can’t comment. Staff: There was definitely a language barrier for many of ...
