We sailed on the Coral Princess to Alaska this summer on the July 31 cruise from Vancouver to Whittier. This was the first cruise for 7 of the 10 people in our party. The ship was a lot of fun for all of us and we ranged in age from 7 to 69. Both embarkation and debarkation were very easy for all of us. If we were to go to Alaska again, I would do different shore excursions than some of the ones we picked on this trip. Different folks in our party did different excursions in each port and most of us agreed that in the future we would not use the ship excursions, but look for the local ones instead. Alaska is an amazing trip and we highly recommend it. The Coral Princess was perfect for our group. We ate at both the Bayou and at Sabatinis, both were very good, but don't eat for a day or two before going to Sabatinis! The regular dining room was good food, we didn't have too many amazing meals there but it was very good. We also preferred the dining room for breakfast to the buffet. We found the crew to be very friendly and very willing to accommodate us, that's not always easy when you have to deal with 10 loud people! The service we received was very good. 6 of us had the same cabin steward, Homer, and he was very good to all of us, but did need to be reminded about a few requests more than once. My husband and I have already booked another cruise to the Caribbean next spring, this time we will try Celebrity's Summit to try something a little different. We debated between another Coral Princess cruise and the Summit one pretty heavily before deciding that we liked the one day longer on the Summit more. I would not hesitate to go with Princess again. We chose this Itinerary because of the ports of call and the full transit of the Panama Canal and also because of the cruise line and the ship. The Coral Princess is a great ship with more public space per passenger than most of the big or medium cruise ships, which makes you feel less crowded everywhere you go and is also a very nice designed ship with beautiful lounges, bars, restaurants, atrium, pools, etc. The food on the Coral Princess was very good specially in the dinning room. The quality and presentation of the dishes was excelent and made me order more than one appertizer and sometimes even 2 entrees several nights. Although our waiters service the first night was very slow and made me complain about it, the rest of the cruise the service was excelent and they explain us why the servce was so slow the first night. As in many ships I have been in, the waiters always remember what you like normally and the next days you get that even without asking. The entertainment on the ship was ok but no the best, on a 15 days cruise we just got 3 shows with the ships singers and dancers, which are the shows I most enjoy, the rest was solo singers, comedians, ventriloquists and so on. The productions on those 3 shows with the singers and dancers were excelent and I know any of those cost a lot, but I think they could do more shows that involve the singers and dancers even if the staging is not very elaborated. The Itinerary was also something that made us choose this cruise, all the ports of call were great even though there are some better than others but definitely all of them were interesting and beautiful. We were very pleased with the food which was excelent in general and the service was also very good all around the ship. Remarcable good was the service we got by our cabin steward, who was not only very friendly and efficient, but also resolve us a lot of requests we had along our stay. The ship is in great conditions for being a ship with 17 years in service, and they still mantain it in great shape. Read Less

Previous cruise with Princess to Alaska had very nice service. This one reinforced my opinion of Princess professionalism. We are looking forward to our next cruise! For anyone who has never enjoyed the pleasure of CLUB CLASS, I fully recommend the experience. no waiting and professionalism of the wait staff. it is like watching a highly trained dance team. The buffet was also convenient for variety. The theater is beautiful and the performers added fun to the evenings. Arrive early to avoid the crowd. Mini suites are the way to go for comfort an space to relax. With the size of the ship it was almost impossible to feel movement while sailing. You have to get a mini suite with a balcony for best views when sailing into/out of ports comfortably. Princess covered the before and after cruise logistics of transportation with bus services to/from airport and to/from hotel after the cruise. Thanks for a great time. Read Less

Breathtaking Magnificent Panama Canal transit, great service in the dining room by Alexsandra Vrapcevic, fun activities with cruise director Fernando, Lauren Meyer always extending herself Minisuite D314 was great, weather fantastic. Perfect mix of sea days and ports. Wish there were more stops in Mexico. Very smooth embarcation and disembarkation. Used luggage service direct to airport for first time. That was fantastic, no overweight baggage fees (they are waived) Activities were fun particularly the game show Yes or No and Gender Showdown. Never laughed so much! On board entertainment was excellent, liked all but one of the acts. Cruise lectures about ports of call were well done My husband has a handicapped scooter and it made it so much easier to get around. Two ports had tenders so he couldn't use the scooter but staff very accommodating giving him time to walk We did a cruise tour that included a Gatun lake cruise. They said it was easy for all but there was a long uneven walk on steps and boat ramp. The boat ride was a waste of time. But the tour of the new locks was fantastic Read Less

This re-positioning cruise was awesome. The 4 day itinerary was the perfect way to revitalize your spirit and mind. The Coral is a smaller ship but has all the amenities of say the Regal. It is new enough that the carpet still has spring to it and the rooms are clean and rust free. The food was excellent. The main dining rooms were large with a lot of ramps for passengers that need assistance. The buffet had many delicious dishes to choose from. The deserts were outstanding and the fruit was sweet and fresh. The cruise staff was outstanding. The passenger games were funny and the staff kept the party going. The art staff was awesome. They gave different lectures on various artists that were interesting and informative. Their knowledge of the artists and their work was impressive. The auctions were fun and the pieces being sold were a outstanding value. This is a trip I would do again. Read Less

We chose this cruise very last minute as our land trip to Napa fell through. The price for the cruise was a deal we could not pass up so we left for Vancouver. Upon entering the cruise port Princess was there and graciously welcomed me back. It had been a while not choosing Princess. We were so glad we are back!!! The entire experience exceeded our expectations mainly due to the outstanding service we received in all venues. The Crooners Bar with Allan and Pankey was incredible. So fun and energetic. I miss them so much! Robert our room steward and Dani our traditional dining server. All are just awesome. The food was excellent. We ate in the traditional dining room each evening and for breakfast. We also love the pizza. Just like we remembered-so awesome. Exceeded expectations. Enjoy if you go on the Coral Princess and say hello to Allan and Pankey from T and T! Read Less

My husband and I needed a worry-free escape from stressful jobs, one that, once we left the house, was completely taken care of. On this 4 night cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles, we were able to afford a Club Class Mini Suite with Princess transfers at the Vancouver Airport and an overnight at the Four Seasons Hotel. The transfers and hotel stay were well worth the price for us. As soon as we left Customs, a Princess Rep whisked us to a cab and handed a voucher to the driver. At the lovely Four Seasons we were upgraded to a magnificent one bedroom suite with a breathtaking city view. Our luggage was picked up from our suite at 8am the next morning and we didn't have to think about it again until it was safely delivered to our cabin in the very early afternoon. As others have mentioned, embarkation in Vancouver was a mess. There were 3 ships in Port disembarking when we arrived at about 9:45am, and we were herded here, there, and everywhere while the port employees tried to figure out what to do with us and where we were supposed to go. Once we cleared Customs and Princess had more control over the situation, things were much more organized. We were safely on board and in our cabin before 11:30am. Our cabin was very clean, spacious, and in good order. The tub/shower combination in the bathroom was worth the price of the suite. Our cabin steward Jeffrey was perfect in every way and greatly enhanced our experience. Our luggage was delivered very promptly. We couldn't have been happier with Club Class Dining. The separate area of the Bordeaux Dining Room was very peaceful and the service most attentive. The food was good and the extra dish often noteworthy. We never had to wait for a table, and our beverages of choice were instantly at hand. My husband enjoyed the variety of the buffet, but the quality of the food and lack of substantial vegetarian items made it a no go for me. We had Room Service a couple of times. The menu was small as were the portions, but the service was very friendly and you could order as much of any item as you wanted. I had pizza from the Lido Deck on the last day and wondered why I had waited so long. It was really good. The Coral Princess is very clean and well maintained. The crew is pleasant and seemed to work well together as a team. We enjoyed the less frantic atmosphere of a smaller ship, and found plenty of areas to enjoy the solitude of the sea away from others. I thoroughly enjoyed the Thermal Suite in the Lotus Spa. The heated beds were so relaxing, and I'm glad I invested in a pass. It was well worth it to me. It was too cold for us to brave Movies Under the Stars, but the movies also played on the televisions in our cabin and in the Princess Theater. We indulged in Premiere Coffee Cards and are glad we did. Although there could be long lines at the International Cafe, especially in the mornings, my husband greatly enjoyed the specialty frozen beverages available. I enjoyed an after dinner latte in Club Class more than once, along with an occasional Mocktail. Disembarkation in San Pedro was a breeze. We enjoyed a final Club Class breakfast with the same attentive service we had received during the rest of the cruise. We were not rushed or hurried in any way. After a leisurely meal we made our way to the quiet Platinum Lounge until our group was called. Once off the ship, our luggage was easily located and a Lyft quickly obtained for our short trip home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the lovely Coral Princess and hope to be cruising again before too long. Read Less

Plenty of on board activities on on shore excursions for those who wanted them. 10 out of 10 in all respects - would definitely book this ship again - if we do I hope they have the same staff. We did not use all the facilities, but those we did use were very good. There were plenty of places to have a drink or a coffee, or a snack. We were watching from our balcony when one person was late in returning from an on shore trip - but the ship waited for her and the staff were helpful in getting them on board even after the gangway had been taken up earlier! I hope we get the chance to rebook the Coral Princess - that would be my first choice. Read Less

My second cruise on the Coral, this time in a balcony A610. A great location with covered balcony allowing us to step out even in the rain and not get our feet wet! This cabin was on the port side, a fantastic location to view the glaciers. Embankment was smooth and efficient. Sailaway was under sunny skies for a 7 day Alaska cruise-last of the season. We had the beverage package, gratuity and OBC as perks for this sailing. Very convenient for all drinks including specialty coffees and bottled water. Was very wet and stormy in Juneau, Skagway was phenomenal as was Glacier Bay. We were unable to dock in Ketchikan which was very disappointing. Activities on board were great but many overlapping so had to choose. Could have had more variety in entertainment comedian twice ventriloquist twice and on show was the Piano bar Don Juan show. I just really have always wanted to take an Alaskan cruise. The Coral Princess in September was a wonderful experience. The crowds were smaller and the weather was just about perfect. There was not a mosquito to be found. The shore excursions were first rate. The stops in Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway offered a variety of experiences. There was plenty of time for shopping and exploring even with taking shore excursions. The Glacier cruising was awe inspiring. Cruising in September means that you get to see even more glaciers because there are some areas that are closed to cruise ships until September As always on a Princess cruise the food was delicious. The Entertainment was professional class. The Crew is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.Even the transfer from Anchorage to Whittier was first rate with a bus driver/tour guide who was great telling us about life in Alaska and pointing out interesting things along the way.. We even were able to take a shore excursion in Vancouver after we disembarked and before we had to fly out. Not only did it give us a great overview of Vancouver, it also lessened our time sitting in the airport. Our balcony stateroom offered stunning views. The ship is a slightly smaller ship and that made getting around very easy. Everything went smoothly from embarking to disembarking. Princess knows how to do things right. Read Less

Excellent cruise. Staff were professional and the ship was spotless. Food was excellent. Scenery was wonderful. Highly recommend taking the the tour of the ship. The cost is $120 but is worth every cent. You will see all the behind the scenes of the ship and as a surprise you receive photos of the tour, a Princess bath robe and cooking apron, a picture frame and a personalized note pad. One of my favourite experiences on board.I did not purchase any of the beverage packages and was never lacking for anything to drink. There is included orange juice for breakfast and coffee, tea and water. Other drinks such as sodas would have to be purchased. The entertainment was very good with a mix of comedy, singing and chorus shows. Very happy with the overall cruise The only thing I would add is that we took the Denali rail Land tour afterwards and this was not good value for money spent. The train speed was very slow (approx 25 mp) making it a very long trip. The Princess Denali Lodge was dirty with very limited time to enjoy the park and the Princess Staff aggressively pushed the Wilderness Wildlife Tour upgrade on the train which turned out to be a major disappointment. Avoid that tour at all costs. Read Less

This cruise exceeded our expectations, ALASKA IS BEAUTIFUL!, we will definitely be back but will do it in reverse order, land first, water second. From embarkation to disembarkation, the staff of Princess Cruise was on point. Our steward Inri, always had a smile and made our stay much more pleasant. They had really good and diverse entertainment, Symphonie was exceptional. The food at the Horizon was outstanding and well prepared and we loved that we could get a slice of pizza, burger etc., on the deck. The anytime dining was the way to go, we weren’t tied to a specific time, it allowed us to explore enjoy more of our time on the ship. The only negative was the internet package, it was not consistent and only one device at a time could use it, it should’ve been accessible to both of us, we each had only one device. Read Less

We chose Coral princess to take us around Alaska's inner passage because friends recommended it. It is a smaller ship which I think is perfect for Alaska. Our service was good. The way the food is now a days, I make sure we go to a specialty restaurant for really good food. The coupon book you receive first day has a BOGO deal that will save you $25, but must be booked that day. Be sure to book Sabatinis at least twice and right away! We could only get in once because I waited. We purchased a Balcony dinner served in our room for $100 for the two of us. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it. It includes a cocktail, apps, bread, champagne, flower arrangement, photo, white glove service, choice of filet and/or lobster, fab salad, crabcake encroute and 2 desserts! Best steak and lobster I ever had! I am not one for shows, so I didn't attend any. Hub went twice to hear soprano. We watched movies in room. We had a balcony which was a splurge. We were two families with three kids total, ages 15, 14 and 9. Having read some of the recent negative reviews, we kept our expectations low but they were all greatly exceeded. From the moment we stepped on the ship, the staff members were friendly and helpful. Because it’s such a small ship, many of them got to know us personally and addressed us by name. We found the ship in great condition and very clean with crowding only in the dining room, food court and during major entertainment options and tours. For the most part, the ship felt pleasantly uncrowded. There were lots of comfortable indoor seating areas, both within the venues and in the walkways, to view the scenery indoors. I also enjoyed daily walks on the Promenade deck when conditions allowed. We had a mini-suite with a balcony on deck 10 that easily seated 4+ people and we opened the door so that it adjoined to the balcony of our travel companions, which made coordinating plans and hanging out very easy. (Bring bungee cords or duct tape to secure cabin door open if you plan to do this.). We spent a lot of time on our balcony and, when that was too cold, on the aft deck on deck 10 which was less affected by the wind and had comfortable lounge chairs. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were too high for our taste. The sleeper sofa was quite uncomfortable with a hard bar in the middle and it sloped down from foot to head. Our amazing steward, Robert Orena, solved the bar problem by bringing a second mattress to put on top which he stored behind the sofa each day. We solved the sloping problem by reversing the head and foot of the bed. The food in the main dining room for dinner was better than expected. There were some amazing items, many very good items, and just a few misses which are likely chalked up to personal preference rather than poor food quality. Service was efficient and our head waiter got to know our personal preferences very quickly. The breakfast menu in the main dining room was a little disappointing in its limited choices so we only ate there one day. The Horizon Food Court had plenty of options each morning to make us all happy for breakfast. For lunch, we had the most amazing wood-fired pizza at the pizza day at Sabatini’s. We wished we could have repeated that! We also really enjoyed the pub lunch at The Bayou. The International Cafe is a great place to get a nice speciality coffee or high quality snack or dessert 24 hours per day. They also have a full bar. Regarding the children and teen clubs, the 9 year old enjoyed many themed activities at the kids club and the 14 year old boy, who loves gaming, enjoyed the teen club. The 15 year old girl, who does not enjoy gaming, didn’t frequent the teen club. The adults’ favorite entertainment on ship was the Crooners Lounge piano bar which we attended each night. Don Juan was a great musician with a varied catalogue and great personality. The servers there were also very fun and attentive to us and to our children when they joined us. We also enjoyed some of the trivia contests as well as the Voice of the Ocean contest. The days in Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay were both amazing! We were very close to the glaciers and had great weather for viewing the scenery. A light puffy coat or similar was required, but it was very pleasant. They also have blankets for passenger use on the top deck. In Skagway, we rented a car and drove up to Emerald Lake and Carcross. It was a great day despite the strong, frigid winds. Our whale-watching trip in Juneau was canceled due to rough conditions so we just toured the town briefly. In Ketchikan, we had to use a tender to get into town which was a more cumbersome process. We enjoyed a walk up to the salmon ladder and along the boardwalk there. While there were a few unique shops, for the most part the shopping seemed the same in all three ports and very similar to any other tourist town. Embarkation and disembarkation were both extremely efficient. It took us less than 30 minutes to get from check in to our rooms, although the luggage came much later. We did a self walk-off with our luggage. We left our room at 7:50 a.m., walked to the dining room meeting place, then immediately off the ship and to a waiting taxi. We arrived at the Vancouver airport by 8:40 a.m. Each family had the 4 device Medallion internet package which we purchased at a good price pre-cruise. (I think it was $105 for the week.) For the most part, it could not handle video streaming but we were always able to text each other through iMessage and could easily download and reply to emails and access basic web sites. Read Less

We went on this very 1st cruise as a family (2 parents in their 50's & 3 adult children in their 20's in a separate room). I picked this ship and itinerary after hours of researching the best option for us. I knew I really wanted to be on a smallish ship that could get close to Hubbard Glacier and take us thru Granite Bay (Captain Todd McBain did a fantastic job getting us within 1/4 mile to Hubbard), with full day stops at the ports in Alaska and a balance of enjoyable entertainment for us adults and adult kids. We were not dissappointed. My husband and I especially enjoyed the shows - Encore, Bayou, Cheasa, Comedian, (not magician though as his show was a bit corny) & going to the game shows put on my cruise ship staff. My kids especially enjoyed the games, such as egg drop in the atrium and ping pong contests, trivia, and the other staff led evening shows. The staff was very energetic and our steward, Benjamin Venida, was extremely personable and attentive. We also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub while overlooking the scenic glaciers, watching movies under the stars with blankets they provided for warmth, and my daughters liked reading books in the quiet library. We liked our Anytime Dining experience and the ability to make reservations day of. When we requested seating by the window, we were kindly accommodated and ended up having a regular table (32) which was in the corner by the window. We really enjoyed the lobster and filet mignon especially when we were able to apply our dining credit to the special menu when Sabitini's was booked. We also at in the Bayou Dining rooms which was very nice as well and our waiter was excellent. The food/dessert was generally tasty. The Baked Alaska parade on the last night was fun and we enjoyed hearing the staff sing Happy B-day/Anniversary to guests as well as the taste of the creme brulee - yum! We regularly ate breakfast in the Horizon Buffet which was a great location at the top of the ship with windows surrounding it. The waiters came around asking if we would like beverages. My husband and son ate pizza at the pizzaria. They said the pizza was too hot and the cheese melted quite a bit and it tasted better when it was cold. We also ate lunch at the Grill by the pool area. The seafood chowder was tasty. I felt bad for the poor girl at the ice cream shop who seemed overworked and under appreciated but access to ice cream at anytime was a nice feature. We stayed in an inside stateroom on the Carribe deck (10th floor) in room C517 which I would highly recommend since it is sandwiched between two other stateroom decks. It was quiet, close to muster stations, mid ship so didn't feel much movement. Positivities Loved the enthusiasm of the staff and warm personalities. The atrium was very pretty. Seating near the windows during meal times - lovely. Getting so close to the glaciers. Meeting such friendly guests. Cleanliness. Great shows. I really liked this ship and the open decks, including semi-private one on the Caribbe floor. It never felt really crowded. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Will definetely cruise with Princess again, and specifically Coral due to the size and layout of ship. Some suggestions: We would love to get all the daily Patters (schedules for each day) at the beginning of the cruise instead of day by day so we could plan our dinners (had anytime dining) and entertainment in advance. In addition, we were told in advance that formal nights are sea days, yet were surprised (as were others seated at our table that night) when we learned fairly last minute that the 2nd formal night was the evening we ported in Juneau. My daughter eats a gluten & dairy free diet. The chefs were kind enough to come out to give her recommendations in the dining rooms and she really liked their gluten free bread. Edible options in the Horizon Buffet were not clearly marked. They did not have almond milk that she knew of nor gluten free cereal. We would have liked signage for gluten free and dairy free items and it would be great if they had almond milk and gluten free bread/cereal available. For us, some food, such as eggs and biscuits, were overcooked but they had a good variety of options. My 3 adult kids shared a separate room. The top bunk bed was uncomfortable for my daughter. It was hard for 2 of the 3 to watch tv since the location of the tv was blocked from view though they did not really spend much time in their rooms at all. Perhaps a moveable mount could help. I felt that the pillows were a bit too squishy and my husband and myself in our room and we kept sinking toward the middle of the queen bed though it was generally comfortable. Benjamin Venida was a terrific, personable, and attentive steward. He was cheerful, called us by name, wished us a great day and good evening regularly, and even gave my son a few extra candies which was appreciated. He kept our room very clean. I wrote him a note and wanted to leave a tip and thank him personally, but I didn't seen him the day we disembarked and felt uncomfortable leaving it in my room since the door was ajar. My suggestion: Give thank you notes and tip if you choose when you see your steward; don't wait until the last day. The cruise director (John/aka Mr. Energy) was hilarious. We really enjoyed the staff led gameshows, etc. The big shows were excellent. The comedian was funny, (we would have loved to see his 2nd show but our dinner reservations could not be changed and we didn't know they were going to overlap) but we did not care for the magician show which felt corny. Sales The coupons, sales, and credits were helpful and encouraged me to buy merchandise. I really liked the free gift from Etsy of my pretty silver anchor necklase. A wonderful rememberance of a lovely cruise experience. Photos I wish the photos were less expensive and we could alter the size and have a cheaper package option (less than $150 minimum). They were good quality photos though. Casino We had fun playing Bingo one afternoon. Spa I did not use the spa, but my son did. Wish I could have let him use my credit as it was pricey for his service. Art: I went to the auction, which was fun but went long (it would be great if they could tell you how long it will be since we had to leave early for the wine tasting). My son got art work at a good price but the cost to ship it and time it takes to arrive is a bit pricey and long. Disembark As first time cruisers, this part was confusing to us. The elevators were full and carrying luggage downstairs dangerous. I think I would better plan ahead next time by leaving our large luggage outside our room. Excursions They were wonderful ports. I didn't appreciate that some shops, in particular jewelry shops, had people standing outside trying to convince us to come in and visit. Some ship excursions seemed very rushed - for example, covering too much ground in not enough time, so we booked some excursions on our own. Skagway: We walked off the port and over the creek bridge into town. We saw a man catch a huge fish. We also attended the '98 Show in the Saloon which was fun and ate lunch at the brewery - the beer garden provided excellent views. My daughter did rock climbing/rapelling, while the rest of us took the van up and bike ride down the mountain. A great active scenic option to sitting on a train. Juneau. We bought tickets at the St. Robert's tram (short walk) with a AAA discount at 8am. Were some of the first to board the tram and hike at the top. Definetly hike to the cross and windsock if you have time. Views are spectacular. Afterward, we called a taxi to meet us at the Red Dog Saloon. She drove us to Mendenhall Glacier where we visited the visitor center and walked the paved trail to beautiful Nugget Falls. Our driver on the way back stopped to buy us some lemonade from kids at a stand. Off the clock. They both provided great stories of the culture and of living there as locals. Finally, we ate at the Red Dog Saloon. Had to have the 'Duck Fart' shot which was fun and tasty. Ketchikan: We all had booked excursions in Ketchikan and were very stressed about making it back in time since the time changed and was scheduled to disembark 45 mins. earlier than originally told. This was a tendered location. I wish Ketchikan port stay was longer so it could have been more enjoyable. We walked through town, saw the salmon in the river. My daughters went on the kayak excursion and me - the group canoe and rainforest trip on the lake. (The clam chowder was excellent!) My husband and son went salmon fishing with Baranoff. My husband caught three - son, none. A couple with them gave them their catch and they were all shipped home. We are eating some fillets for dinner tonight. Read Less

The cruise was awesome. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant except for one and I chalk that up for just having a bad day. We all of them occasionally. The reason I say this is, every time we saw this person after the "not so good" day, they were always in a pleasant professional mood. Even though Princess states the Coral was completely refurbished a few years ago - it really is need for a complete overhaul again. It is showing its age. Everything was clean. The entertainment we saw was what I would term as "typical". Nothing mind blowing but good. I would suggest to everyone to spend the little extra and opt for a balcony room. It was "post card beautiful" admiring everything from our private balcony while inside the Alaskan passage. You don't have other people bothering you or complaining etc. Our experience at Sabatina's Princess's premier Italian restaurant was nothing special. Actually after my wife and I left - we both agreed the Italian food we prepare in our own kitchen was as good as we just tried. Maybe we had a bad night?? Not sure, but on our next cruise, we would opt for something else. As for the ports and excursions - we opted not to pre-book a lot of excursions and just allow spontaneity to take over when we arrived, we would do much different on next cruise to Alaska. We did pre-book 2 excursions, but would do many more next time. The ports are beautiful and quaint, but way over commercialized !! Depending on how many ships are at port, you could have several thousand people in a small village at same time, which = WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE for me ;) We would book several excursions that would take us away from all of the commercialism at the ports. The bottom line is; would we go back - ABSOLUTELY!! and actually have started to put our thoughts and ideas together for another Alaskan adventure in 2 years. Read Less

We cruised from Vancouver to Alaska, followed by the Princess tour to Denali Park. From beginning to end it was a fantastic trip. The cruise line lived up to every expectation. We chose a cabin with balcony on the Emerald deck which was nice with a comfortable bed....my only suggestion is that it needed a more comfortable chair, rather than an armless desk chair. The food was delicious and service outstanding. We chose the 'anytime dining' and the Horizon dining room; also frequented the small cafes for coffee and snacks. We enjoyed the wine tasting, a couple of lectures and shows, as well as the music played in the atrium and lounges. The shopping on board was fun and reasonable. Our rail trip to Denali was beautiful and the overnight lodges were nice. Not seeing Mt Denali, bears, or moose was disappointing, but we loved the charming village of Talkeetna. The entire trip from start to finish was extremely well organized and confusion-free. We highly recommend this ship and would love to sail Princess again! Read Less

My family and I wanted to experience Alaska and Vancouver. We did the 3 day land excursion and seven day cruise on the Coral Princess. Words cannot describe the overall amazing experience we had. It was surreal from the land, the ship, entertainment and dining perspective. The views Princess afforded us on land at each lodge and during transportation throughout Denali National Park was unsurpassed . We saw Caribou, otters, sealions, bald eagles and glorious whales. The landscape we viewed was majestic. The land and cruise staff was always pleasant and could not do enough to enrich our experience. My father caught a pink salmon on a Princess salmon fishing excursion. A chef on board in our dining room prepared my father’s catch perfectly just for us. The taste and presentation was amazing; a highlight of our trip. The entertainment was culturally diverse and enriched our experience on this cruise. If you have the chance to see Megan Brunning, the soprano on board, her voice is a gift to the world. My teens went to the “Beach House” teen club frequently and enjoyed the many activities planned. They even met some friends from all over the world who they still are in contact with. I could go on and on with moments that exceeded our expectations. Princess gave us wonderful memories to last a lifetime. The land/cruise experience through Princess was so highly organized and it’s attention to detail was beyond exceptional and comes with my highest recommendation. Embarking couldn’t have been more simple. We did the 3 day Denali National park through Princess and took the train with 180 degree views through the glass top train. While on the train to the port in Whittier, a Princess agent did all our checking in process so embarking was a matter of walking right on! Simplest I have ever experienced in a cruise. Our luggage was already in our cabin when we arrived. Disembarking was just as easy, we walked off with our luggage at 745a before anyone else and the taxis were right outside waiting to take us to our hotel in Vancouver. We explored Vancouver on our own over the next 2 days which I highly recommend. Doing it through Princess would probably been easier but the city was easy to navigate using public transportation. Uber does not exist there. Hop off and on again bus is super easy and convenient. My teens said this was their favorite trip and they have traveled extensively through the US and Europe. We would definitely return to Princess in Alaska. Read Less

So many events and shows to keep you busy. Best of all, all the staff were super awesome, friendly, attentive and courteous!! We were treated like royalty throughout the trip!!! This reason alone makes us want to do it again! Thank you Nino, Mariam and Seon! Everywhere you went on the ship were clean! There’s enough staff to ensure you have everything you needed and more! Food was delicious and plenty. There were so many varieties that anyone with specific food allergies or specific diet can find food to eat! On our ship, besides our “typical” dining room, we had two other restaurant to choose from. We decided to have an Italian dish. Right off the bat, the freshly baked bread dipped in olive oil was to die for! The next 5 course meal was so good that even though I was stuffed, I could not pass it up!! We will definitely cruise again and I will make sure we book another princess cruise!!! Read Less

I would highly recommend this trip! The cruise staff were excellent! Food outstanding - and plenty of it!! Entertainment was varied - there was something for everyone!! We really enjoyed our excursions - especially the helicopter ride to the glacier as well as whale watching, crab eating, zip-lining, and whitewater rafting. The exercise classes available were great as well as the Lotus Spa massage, manicure/pedicures. We had a medical emergency and the doctors and nurses were very knowledgable, professional, kind, caring - especially at 1:00 a.m.!! They made all of the difference in the world to our trip! My sister renewed her 25th Anniversary wedding vows with her husband which was a very touching, beautiful night!! We loved the last night eating in the Bayou dinning room where we got to celebrate all of the workers there! We loved that the cruise staff was diverse and from all over the world!!! Read Less

We had never been to Alaska and found this cruise to be wonderful. All the staff worked very hard to make this a great experience. The ship was a moderate size and somewhat older, but it was hard to tell this, as it was well kept. The food was the best of any cruise so far. The entertainment was first class, and not of poor quality as I have experienced on other cruise lines. The two non-disembarked destinations of Glacier Bay, and College Fiord were the highlight and the best experience of any cruise yet. The embarking and disembarking were extremely easy, and made so that it all goes very smoothly. We have decided that we will look for ships of this size rather than the mega ships for our future cruise choices. Choose excursions carefully. most bus tours can't be duplicated off the ship, but the Seaplane rides are available for half the price. We enjoyed this cruise very much. Read Less

The service, the cleanliness, the delicious food, the kindness of crew, the beauty of the ship , everything was so, so pleasant and satisfactory. We choose this cruise because we wanted to see the Hubbard Glacier and took the excursion which was wonderful. We had the opportunity to interact with other guests when eating at the Bordeaux restaurant that is very elegant. All the meals there were fabulous and the service pronto and great! The buffet restaurant was very clean and then food was very good with a great service. The amenities offered were numerous and the shows offer at the theater were spectacular, first clase, the actors were passionate and felt deeply what they were doing. There was a soprano with an incredible voice! Coral Princess and it’s crew deserve 5 Stars! We can really recommend this cruise to Alaska that is so beautiful. We really thank the crew that took care of us! Read Less

This was our first cruise and we had a balcony cabin as we didn't want to miss out on seeing anything. We chose the Coral Princess as it was a slightly smaller ship with less people on board. We are from New Zealand and this was our first time in Canada and Alaska. This cruise was absolutely fabulous. The scenery was breathtaking, the food was delicious, the bed was comfortable, the crew were always polite and helpful, the entertainment was great. I couldn't fault Princess Cruises from start to finish. The ports had lovely small towns that you could walk around and just enjoy the places. We did not go on any of the excursions. There is always plenty to do on the ship if you choose to. We went to our first art auction which was 2hrs long but weren't tempted to buy anything. We had 2 formal nights and it was nice to see everyone dressed up in the restaurant and at the theatre on the same night. This cruise exceded our expectations and we can't wait to take another Princess Cruise somewhere. Read Less

Having traveled on Princess before to Alaska I knew I wanted to do it again. The itinerary was perfect. I loved cruising Glacier Bay and seeing it all from my balcony. A balcony cabin is a must for this scenic cruise. I signed up for a balcony glacier photo and got some of the best pictures without having to fight for the rail on the upper decks. I strongly recommend taking the White Pass railway in Skagway. Such a beautiful scenic ride. The cruise director John was the best I have ever had on a cruise. So much fun. Loved the broadway styled shows they had too. The park rangers and guest speakers were very interesting and added to the experience of seeing and learning about Alaska. Embankment and disembarking were very smooth and easy. Food choices were abundant and we enjoyed eating at various places throughout the day. Will definitely being taking Princess again. Read Less
