First, I must say, we only cruised once before on Golden Princess (to Alaska from Vancouver). So this is the only benchmark that I have to compare the current RCI cruise with.
Because we live in Vancouver, Canada, getting to the cruise terminal in Texas was quite a journey: flight from Vancouver to L.A. then L.A. to San Antonio, then San Antonio to Houston (overnight stay) then early ...
This cruise trip was for a wedding that I was invited to attend.
I booked my cruise through CostCo travel because the stateroom credit that was offered was double what the wedding travel agent offered.
The wait at the Port of Galveston was about 3 hrs.....it was insane.
I booked "my time" dining and tried to get the same dining and the rest of the wedding group(40+). Costco was not able to ...
I have used this site so much and want to pay it forward. If I go on to much or seem long winded, apologies.....
This was a first time cruise with my husband and children (girls 11 and 7) and for myself as a married mother! Very different experience than being 25 and single on a cruise!!! We travel every spring break for our "warm" vacation and the destinations have always been all-inclusive ...
We started our trip on cruise day. We took a chance and flew into Houston (Hobby) airport and took the RCII shuttle to the port. This was very organized and event though we ran into traffic getting to the port we still arrived well before 2pm. Advantage was we walked right up to the desk, checked in and boarded the ship and went directly to our cabin.
Our cabin steward was Jose and he did ...
This was our second trip on Mariner out of Galveston. Beautiful ship but probably ready for some updating. Crew overall gave excellent service.
BUT...
This was the first time we have experienced issues with our neighboring stateroom. We had a honeymoon couple next to us (and probably some other adjoining stateroom(s) traveling with them. They were so noisy yelling and screaming on the balcony ...
Before I report there are a few things that don't matter because of the changes that will be made during the ship going to dry dock as soon as we got off. We had a question and answer with the captain and cruise director about what was going to change. First, all of the carpet will be changed. All the wood on the ship will be sanded and re-stained. They will not paint everything, just the things ...
First time cruisers and we really liked it. We were with a group of three families plus some additional teenagers. Mariner is a great ship. Lots to do or you can decide to do nothing. First two days at sea were great to get us to relax and enjoy the vacation. Roatan and Belize were fun. We did zip lining in Roatan through a private firm and took the snorkel/beach escape through RC in Belize. ...
Hi everyone! We just completed our first sailing on the Mariner and honestly loved every single minute. The ship is beautiful and we can't wait to see her after the dry dock in April!
We were on the Voyager last March and sailed to Belize, Roatan and Cozumel, but this year we tried the Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica itinerary. We loved it so much we re booked for March 3, 2013!
We are: ...
We were a group of 14 (8 adults + 6 kids) sailing on the Mariner out of Galveston. Ports were Roatan, Belize, Cozumel. We stayed two days pre-cruise at the Hampton Inn off Seawall Blvd. Hotel was clean, comfortable and a nice pool area and free breakfast each morning. Used the hotel shuttle Sunday morning (10:00 run) for 5.00 each. Van was large enough to accommodate all 14 people, which was ...
We just got home from our Spring Break Cruise to Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel.
Embarkation: This went pretty smooth. Line was a bit slow at 1st because there only seemed to be one scanner open, but began to speed up. We were in the Windjammer within an hour of getting to the port.
Stateroom: Everything was clean and in good condition. The TV did not work when we got there but our ...
