My husband and daughter chose this cruise, it's not something that I would have chosen since I like warmer weather. After some education, I looked forward to the cruise and was not disappointed. It is a long cruise at 12 nights but the variation between sea days and ports is good. The staff and crew were great, from embarkation to debarkation, we really didn't have any major problems. The dining especially in the main dining room was better than we've had recently. The windjammer was usually packed and not my favorite place for breakfast. I wish that they would have had some of the other dining options open later than they were. The music and a lot of the entertainment was really geared for an older crowd. Don't expect to have broadway quality shows on this ship. Since this is a colder weather cruise, most of the venues are usually packed and hard to find a seat. The ports are great especially if you're into history and architecture. The only port that we didn't have a lot to see or do was in Finland. Would have loved more time in Bruge. I didn'tlike the amount of time that we needed to travel from port to town - now I know. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this cruise to family and friends! Read Less

The ports of call on this cruise were wonderful, the best for me, Bruges. It was busy and crowded but beautiful. I enjoyed every place we visited but do have some complaints about the transportation to city centers. It was expensive sometimes, $20 US in Copenhagen each and then a 45 minute wait for the shuttle to get back to the ship. And, in Bruges, it was basically non-existent. Either you were forced to do an excursion with RC or you were on your own. There are no taxis waiting as passengers disembark as is the case at other ports-of-call. The shore excursions through RC are expensive and don't always meet expectations. For example, we booked our trip in St. Petersburg with Alla Tours and saw lots more than other people that booked on the ship and we also paid less. This is not a surprise as the companies make money on the shore excursions they sell. A friend and I were traveling with our sons. A wonderful part of the cruise was knowing that the young fellows had lots of companions on board (they are 17 and 18). The downside, even though my son is 18 (he just graduated from high school like his friend), he was not allowed in the older teen center. This meant he had to skip out on some of the young people's activities. Needless to say, the young people didn't spend all their time at the center so he had lots of opportunity to socialize with them The ship itself was great. As mentioned, there were places that needed some updating-the cabins could use a facelift as could some of the public areas (dining room seats were stained). The food in the buffet was very good and in the dining room, for the most part it was excellent. Some meals better than others (stay away from the steaks, they are always over-cooked and chewy). The entertainment was good, again, some better than others, it is a matter of taste as well. The onboard activities seemed a bit thin. We enjoyed the trivia and games, but found that there was always a price for the more interesting activities. That is fine, but the prices could be a little less. All in all, I can't complain when someone is cooking for me, cleaning up after me, entertaining me and giving me the chance to see places that on there own would be very expensive (a $20 beer in Copenhagen!). I would recommend the "free" tours available in many cities-a shout out to our wonderful guides in Copenhagen and Tallin. We tipped them each about $10. The best part really is walking around the 4th floor deck on the outside of the ship surrounded by the sea and no one else! Perfect! I'd so that again in a heartbeat. Read Less

our priority was to visit le main north - european capitals. This cruise was successful on a beautiful and clean ship in a large cabin with balcony . All the services (cabin, restaurants, excursions, shows in theater) are top. But 20 to 30 % of the guests were ill (loose goat and nose) du to the virus in the air ducts. The dance orchestras have only played poor music from 9:00 pm with pause of 15mn. No music dance between 6 to 9:00 at the dancing bars = true desert at this time!!! compare with others companies where we can dance when we want on each evening . Many dancers complained about this no-service. Though the announcements , the captain has never come to meet the guests in formal dress. All the prices (beverage ,dining options, excursions , recreation activities...) are very high. The shows in theater (music and on ice) are very good. English is only the unique langage even for security calls : many french and spanish could not understand all the messages. Read Less

While this cruise seems to focus more on St Petersburg, Russia, there are several other port stops worth mentioning: Oslo, Norway, Copenhagen, Denmark, Talinn, Estonia, and Helsinki, Finland. St Petersburg is the big city, about 5.2 Million people, containing several attractions, including the Islands, the Neva River, and the Hermitage Museum. With a city this size, you're sure to have crowds. The Hermitage is a very crowded venue, but if you don't go, you'll wish you had. We spent a couple hours there, moving through the vast rooms of this winter palace. If one had time to view each and every exhibit for 8 hours a day, it wold take about 10 years to see everything. Many great art treasures are there. The ship spent between 32 and 36 hours in port. The only hassle might be going through immigration in Russia. The first time off the ship, you lose an hour or two getting through the lines. This is the only port we've ever experienced anything like this. Talinn, the capital of Estonia, a former Soviet Baltic state is an interesting place where most people didn't really know what to expect. The city has about 600,000 people with an efficient transportation system which seems to center around light rail and buses. It rained here as it did in Russia, but still, the stop was enjoyable. Oslo was nice but Helsinki and Copenhagen are two cities I'd like to visit again. I would have loved to have seen Stockholm too, but it's not part of this cruise. As for the cruise itself, there is another highlight which was a surprise for me. We had to sail beneath the Oresund Bridge which via a tunnel, connects Malmo Sweden with Copenhagen, Denmark. The bridge carries cars, trucks and trains. This cruise was round trip from Southampton England, lasting 12 days. It was fun. Read Less

cruise was ok as we booked this one as we had friends on board but will not do this one again. we loved the navigator but DJ Tic Tac was the worst DJ as he only wanted to play music that he wanted not what the passengers wanted and turned aggressive if you requested anything the ice show was the best show on-board the theatre entertainment was only average , The food was excellent in both the restaurant and windjammer and café promenade they had the best pies available each day with a large selection of sandwiches cakes etc. the housekeeping staff do an excellent job of keeping the ship in tip top condition . The sad part about this cruise was we always wanted a stopover in a port but in St Petersburg we could only get off if you had a visa or an organised tour it would have been so good to have had the stopover at another port of call to have the freedom. I choose this cruise to visit the homeland of my grandfather and walk the streets that he walked as a child and young man. took my daughter and her children with me so they too could experience part of their heritage. apart from that I wanted to see countries that I never believed I would see in my life time. outside of seeing where my grandfather once guarded the royal family of Denmark I found the most interesting tours to be two that experienced the life style of two countries. one the Russian experience in Estonia and the farm life in Helsinki to be more informative than the standard city tours. on both we got the city tour but got to see what their lives were like years ago and how they remain today. I found those tours to be the most pleasurable of all. the ship was large enough to provide a number of activities for all ages. since I was traveling with grand children of varying ages there was something for everyone. entertainment was not as exciting as some other ships I have been on and the shows ranged from just okay to good. the impressionist brought in from England was the best fo the shows that we saw. dinning was a little disappointing as many of the standard items that I was used to having on the menu were not on this ship but one meal in particular stood out for me and that was a braised shank served in the main dinning room. have had this before on other ships and it never hit the mark but this chef really served up the dish as I remember it from my childhood. service was better than what I experienced on my last cruise on a larger royal ship. less people to please and a happier crew. my advice is to stay with the voyager class of ship if you want big boat experience and still get reasonable service. if you want to see history, this is the cruise to take. if you are looking for a beachy trip then do not take this cruise as the weather is not predictable and these are cold water cruises. this is more an adult cruise but even the younger set can find fun on this ship. grand daughter just seven loved the evenings in the ocean club, climbing the rock wall and ice skating. got one day in the hot tub and pool but out of twelve days it was the only one suitable for that activity. This was our first ever cruise and was chosen mainly for the itinerary. We had a wonderful experience on board and not having cruised before lived up to all our expectations. Some of the on shore excursions were very expensive, we chose the 2-day tour in St Petersburg and after a horiific experience with the 'speed' of the tour on day 1 and also the attitude of our tour guide we opted not to go on day 2 - in future would chose 2 separate excursions rather than a full on 2 day. In some ports of call would be nice to be better informed of exactly how far the city centre is from the boat, especially in Copenhagen - we chose to pay for the shuttle bus into the city centre to end up literally walking back to the ship to see The LIttle Mermaid. Our expereince on board was great and the food served in the Dining Room was excellent, chose not to use the Windjammer restaurant as the food just looked so mass produced. Not put off and will definitley cruise again. Read Less

This was our first cruise on Navigator but as RCCL loyalists we had done this particular route before a few years back. Embarkation was slick. We have a family game where we start the clock between arriving at the car park and publishing a photo of us enjoying our first cocktail by the pool bar. We achieved this in 20 minutes! Our GS was in a good location on deck 10 close to the elevators, making it easier to move around the ship for my wheelchair dependent wife. The fresh fruit awaiting us in the suite was welcoming along with the smile from our cabin attendant Michael who looked after us so well throughout the cruise. The perks that come with a Suite do make a difference but the vast space at our disposal is definitely the selling point. We selected MyTime dining and were very pleased to get the same table for two throughout the cruise. We quickly formed a good relationship with our regular servers Martin and Sergei both of whom delivered an outstanding service throughout the cruise. The food in MDR was good but not exceptional. The menu appears to have got smaller in recent years and I am not sure if this is a savings measure or an incentive to opt for the extra charge speciality restaurants that now cover five locations on this ship. To me it did sent the wrong message being badgered to buy a five meal deal package at the speciality restaurants before I had finished my starter on the first evening. I did resist! As suite guests we were treated to breakfast each morning in Chops and on sea days we had lunch there too. The eggs benedict made a good start for the day and having fillet mignon for lunch was a great treat. We did try the windjammer where the food was varied and on par for this typical food court venue. However, I do wish that they would toast the burger buns. We did not visit the Theatre or Ice shows this time but I did hear good reviews from other cruisers. I enjoyed listening to the big band shows on the Royal Promenade and the wonderful sounds from the classical guitarist at Vintages. My favourite watering hole was without doubt the R Bar and I so enjoyed chatting with the team Kendra, Luiz, Nadia and Era during my afternoon 'happy hour' on most days. We avoided the organised excursions (they have become increasing more expensive in recent years) and did our own thing when in port. overall this was a most satisfactory cruise and it was enjoyable being on such a happy, well run ship. I will certainly recommend the Navigator of the Seas to my friends. Read Less

This was a Baltic ports cruise and on the whole was very good but there was 4 niggle's which really irritated us These were : 1) the constant marketing of every conceivable way of trying to extract more money from you. for example we had approximately 28 messages during the 12 days 24 of them were offers for speciality restaurants etc 2) linked to above the Cruise compass provided every evening is very poor with little information about the next port or any news or sports results - The one provided by Princess cruises is far superior. 3) the TV in the room, whilst I accept the 7 or so internal channels I was extremely disappointed with the 4 or 5 other English channels which cut out frequently and seemed to show the same episode of 2 Broke girls, Big Bang theory etc for 12 DAYS RUNNING!!!!! 4) Whilst the trips themselves were good the organisation for excursions leaving the ship seemed to be poor particularly St Petersburg and Zeebrugge . Whilst I accept that with St P matters are a little out of there hands the Zeebrugge trip was ridiculous with change of meeting point and time resulting in it being over an hour to get off the ship, and thus the need for comfort breaks etc resulting in delays These niggles excepted the cruise was very good with the cabin being spotless and the dining experience being very good Entertainment was better than other cruises we have been on, and an excellent gym Read Less

Easy parking in Southampton near the ship, luggage collected and sent to Stateroom, very easy transit to onboard ship. The Stateroom was great, 8th floor, the whole ship was wonderful, "The Two Poets" bar could have been bigger, with more seating as it was always full ! The food on board was better than excellent, served with first rate friendly waiters, in fact all the staff were excellent a credit to RC. The shows and ice show where excellent a great experience! There is never a dull moment, with loads of onboard things to do. RC organised trip on shore were well organised and Guides very informative fantastic! On the other hand, once on board waiting for our Stateroom we where pounced on by staff trying to sell us meals in other restaurants- only been on the ship five minutes! The price of WiFi if you need it is so expensive! We paid £112 each upfront for gratuities but with the well over priced drinks that incurred an extra 18% on top, a single photograph was nearly $20 each! Wilst we had a fantastic time and glad we went, but felt as many others who have been on RC ships before felt the same, I know they need to make money, but they spoil it with there prices! Our next cruise we will need to look elsewhere and compare each merit. Read Less

We choose this cruise for the itinerary though if we had taken the ships excursions we would have double the cost of the cruise. Small penny pinching things seemed to be a general complaint that spoiled peoples experience. Such has no coffee in the rooms the high price of drinks, so many people just drinking water, strong coffee had to be bought as an extra with a long queues. Many of the areas quickly ran out of seats. The room was fine though sometimes cold, the shower water was hot. In general the shows were poor. Dinning was fine and the specialty restaurants were good. Every one you spoke to seemed to have paid a different price for this cruise, it seems a mine field to get through has to how when or whom to use when booking these holidays. Its quiet easy to pay twice the amount has the person sitting next to you. Read Less

We have sailed with Royal Caribean a few times and were really looking forward to this criuse as we have never been to Russia. We were on a 12 nighs Northern Delights sailing on the 2nd June on the Navigator of the Sea. My highlights were the ports of call and the low lights was the constant upselling of the speciallity resaurants especially while we were in the middle of dinner!. Great check in and wew were on board in 30 minutes from arrival. Our cabin was on the 9th deck and was clean and tidy. Our state room attendant was very effecient and we didnt see much of him as he managed to clean when ever we were out. The itinery was good but very tiering with 2 very full days in Russia followed by a day in Estonia. We packed out our time in Russia including a trip to the ballet. We didnt get off to a good start in Rusia as thier were too many cruise ships in St Petersberg at once. It took over an hour to get through imigration but it was worth the wait with amazing architecture and history but 2 days just wasnt enough especially with the dreadful trafic. We didnt use the ships tour and were lucky just to have a small group on a mini bus meaning we didnt lose time waiting for people to get back to the bus. The downside of the criuse was the main dinnng room. I think that Royal Caribean have dicided to make more money my reducing the quality of food and service in the main dinning room forcing people to spend more by booking and paying extra for their speciality reasuarants. That coupled with constent up selling took the shine of the holiday. I noticed when I got home that RC are now sellingspeciality dinning packages for the whole of your cruise so maby that wa the meyhod to thier madness. One thing I did pay extra for was the sushi making class in Izummi it was excellent and you get to eat what you make. The chiefs were knowledgeable and really good fun. The team in the R Bar were excellent giving great service always with a smile and a joke. Read Less

We mainly went to see St Petersburg, but the other ports of call were also interesting. We did not look around Southampton as we've been there several times. The embarkation and disembarking were smooth and speedy, we were very impressed, hardly any waiting around involved. The ship seemed a little dark decoration-wise, a lot of dark wood everywhere. The dining experience was fine but not brilliant, the staff are all friendly, courteous and efficient, but the menus were not varied and exciting enough, compared to P&O or Princess. The entertainment was very good and varied, something for everyone. St Petersburg did not disappoint - so much gold everywhere in their palaces and cathedrals, it was wonderful to see. Our guide was very impressive with her knowledge of her home city, but far too much walking involved in the 2 day tour. Luckily I had one sunny day, but on the rainy day we walked round a beautiful park for 2 and a bit hours getting soaked. And be warned it is one of those cities with toilets incapable of flushing toilet tissue. A good holiday I recommend it. Read Less

Price and benefits appeared to be satisfactory. Selected this cruise to visit Baltic area. Did not use fitness and recreation facilities. Did not use Royal Caribbean tours. Used Alla tours for Helsinki and St. Petersburg - Excellent tours. Entertainment was disappointing, but excellent dancing and ice show. Food was not up to the level we expected - most desserts were bland, but some of the dishes were outstanding. Waiters, expecially Xavier and Edzel were outstanding. Cabin steward was also outstanding. The rest of the staff was courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. Also like to praise the bartenders. The drinks were, for the most part, excellent. Leslie, in one of the bars, always managed to find seats for us. Did not like the prices of some of the features offered, such as the spa treatments. Needed more time in some of the ports. Four or five hours not enough to get a real sense of being there. Read Less

We usually cruise with P and O, but were told by our travel agent that P and O had no cruises going to St Petersburg this year, so ended up booking with Royal Caribbean. We later found out that she had made a mistake, and P & O did have cruises to St Petersburg, but we didn't really mind as we thought it would be good to try another line. Boarding the ship was easy, and we found our stateroom, very good, and we liked the ship and its layout very much. The quality of food on board was excellent throughout all the eating points. The staff are very friendly and obliging and are determined that you are going to have a good time. The ship is well designed and laid out, plenty of lifts, stairs and toilets. We found that the Royal Promenade was always crowded with tables selling things, and it was difficult to pass through. Sometimes the music in various places was so loud that we could not talk, but after commenting on this it did seem to have been turned down a bit. Some of the entertainment was very good, but we did not think it was as good as P and O. We thought the surf rider, wall climbing and sports activities was wonderful for younger people, and we liked the golf putting course. We found that drinks were expensive and had we not had a drinks package included in our package, we would not have had many alcoholic drinks. It was disappointing that at most bars we could not have a coffee or tea as an alternative to alcoholic drinks. We only found tea and coffee in the Windjammer and the Promenade. Items on sale in the shops on the Promenade seemed very expensive. The ports of call were good, but we had to pay for a shuttle into town where we had not booked a shore trip, and this added up to about £100 over the whole trip. We have always had the shuttle provided free on our P and O Cruises. Disembarking from the ship at the end of the trip was easy. Disappointingly on sea days, although there was a huge list of things to do, most of them seemed to be trying to sell us expensive items, spa treatments, art sales, watch sales, auctions etc, and the cinema was at the pool side, which was not good on a cold windy day. We ended up spending a lot of time just wandering round the ship or watching television in our cabin. Read Less

Royal Promanade shows i,e Britannia and Dance Party are repetitive ship to ship so once seen, you only see same again just different people so this could now do with an overhaul, to maintain entertainment shows on the promanade. The Cafe food is now alot better than previous years with alot more variety available. Seating is still a problem, dispite warning signs the water stations are still being breached with people contaminating the water barrels by placing used bottles unter the taps so to refill them this is not pleasant for other users and is a big risk of spreading any health infections from these offendors to the other passengers. so if you are guilty of this then please "STOP DOING IT !!! and stop using your children to do this for you too. First time for 20 years with Royal Caribbean. We had a balcony cabin on deck 7. The cabin was a nice size with ample storage space. An adequate but small shower facility. The King sized bed was really comfortable with a firm mattress, just the way we like it. The tv had few channels and needs an upgrade in our opinion. Charging for films was a bit of a suprise and was also unreasonably priced. Our cabin steward whilst being friendly we felt was not on the ball and did the bare minimum every day. Windjammer restaurant was run like a school canteen and the layout was badly organised with no set fluency. Food was ok but that was about it. We had the My Time dining which on reflection was a good choice as the quality and choice of food was very good. We were fortunate to have two excellent servers in Alvind and Stephen. For breakfast we decided to go down to the sapphire dining room on deck 3 as this was much better than the bun fight in windjammer. Good selection of hot and cold buffet foods so no complaints. For lunch it was only on sea days we were allowed to use the same dining room. There was a ridicolous insistence on the staff putting your salad plate together for you. A buffet salad should be exactly that, you help yourself, please explain this RCL? The main course menu was extensive and very good quality. Another major complaint was the bread choice was the worst we have ever experienced. Whats happened to the crusty rolls you can cut yourself and where's the brown and wholemeal bread? On a positive the staff were always on the ball and friendly. Unless you have already purchased a drinks package the bar prices are extortionate. An average price for a glass of wine was around the 12$ mark with a beer coming in around 9$. If we had not already prepaid the drinks I would have been forced to go tee total. Entertainment was well produced, varied and exceptionally good. The major complaint was the extras. Costs of wifi for the week 150$. Totally unwarranted and just plain and simple crazy pricing. Shore excursions again totally overpriced. If you compete with the onshore providers RCL you will have no problems selling these and still make adequate profit. The premium restaurants again had silly pricing issues. The staff are obviously told to push these but nobody with any sense is gonna take these up at the extra prices insisted on. Read Less

Overall the ship was clean, the cruise director called Cuddy was amusing although rarely seen during the day. The activities were enjoyable. We did mostly on our thing at ports of call. We did a SPB tour in Russia, I highly recommend them, groups are smaller and the price is much less the RCI. We heard from many passengers that they were disappointed with the RCI tours, overpriced and the tours were to large. At certain ports of call the RCI staff were useless, no help what so ever... when you do your own thing in each port of call. I have found over time the service has gone done, no chocolates on pillows at night, not even a writing pad or pen in rooms. The major disappointment was the food, it lacked taste and the desserts reminded me of desserts bought at Costco. The Windjammer was horrible. Same menu each lunch and dinner. The hamburgers were horrible. Eggs in the morning were soaked in water. I found in the past we had 3 people serving our dinner table, one head waiter, one assistant who took care of drinks as well. In the past there was a third person to take care of drinks. The waiters in the main dining room were awesome, great service. The spa massage treatments were mediocre for the exuberant prices. The seminars in the spa…were basically to up sell products…..too pushy, same with the restos on the ship…always trying to sell. The ship was clean, staff were friendly. I highly recommend taking beverage package, drinks are seriously overprices...and stay away from spa. Read Less

This itinerary took us to places we'd never been to, but couldn't figure out what to do there for an entire week (except for St Petersburg), so it was great in that regard. It seemed as though we were rushed through some of the ports (i.e. arrived at 10 or 11 am and had to leave by 2 or 3 pm) so more time in each port would have been awesome. I'd love to see a cruise with more overnight options in each port so that people could be more leisurely in their wanderings. That would be an incredible itinerary! The process of disembarking for St Petersburg was an all-out nightmare. We were not allowed to use the elevators to go down to deck 2 but were then forced to wait on the stairs for 45 minutes (which is extremely dangerous), then they decided to let people use the elevators which then meant people were cutting the line. We lined up at 7:55 am to get off the ship and didn't actually get to the gangplank until 9:45 am and we were in the FIRST group! Customs took another hour which made us late for our tour and people in our group were FURIOUS with us but there was nothing we could do. Between the staff allowing people to cut the line, forcing us to wait on stairs and the slowness of the Russian Customs agents, there was no way to get through any faster. Royal handled this very badly and we have already provided them LOTS of feedback on this. Overall, service in general, and across the board, was a lot slower than in the past. Also in the main dining room, the was less variety of options on the dinner menu, and the quality of the desserts (admittedly, not my favorite course) was not as high as in the past. It could have been the market though. I still think that dinner at 8:30 pm is too late - 8:00 pm would have been better (even the Europeans with us agreed) and it should never take 2.5 hours for dinner. We seemed to be constantly waiting on the staff which I attribute to less staff overall and the combining of some roles; i.e. the assistant waiter and the bar waiter. Our waiter was hustling to make up for the fact that our assistant waiter was somewhat inept and slow, which is unfair. No one should have to do two jobs all the time. Read Less

I was part of a group of 30 Geocachers on the cruise. We had an awesome time! The countries visited were great! The ship itself was very clean with friendly. Food and staff were excellent. Entertainment was top notch. The Ice Show was an added bonus! The Atrium Promenade View Stateroom didn't feel like an inside cabin. Loved our Cruise Director! The meditation class was a great addition. I only have a few complaints: Being a colder weather cruise most people were inside. The games should have been held in the Star Lounge rather than the Schooner. There wasn't enough space to enjoy them. Some people sat there all day taking up space and didn't participate. The TV show selection was terrible! If you didn't participate in a RCCL tour you didn't have priority debarkation in each port. On many occasions our privately booked tours weren't allowed access to the wharf area. Read Less

This cruise was booked as a large family holiday, there were 16 of us in total with ages raging from 20 months to 78 years old. There's plenty for the kiddies to do and at the same time, the adults can just relax. The entertainment this year was ok, not as good as when we were on the Navigator last year but still ok. I felt as though we spent a long time on the ship this time, the stops in Spain & Portugal weren't really long enough. Our stateroom was a nice size, perfect for the 2 of us and we had a window to see out onto the Promenade. The main dining room was just amazing food and service wise, everything was presented well and you didn't need to ask for anything as the waiters were always one step ahead. I would definitely travel on the Navigator of the Seas again, she's a beautiful ship with plenty to do on board for everyone. Read Less

Chose the cruise because 1. we wanted to go to the Normandy memorials/beaches 2. there was a 60% discount for second person 3. we are Celebrity Captain's Club and some of our status transferred. The ship left Southampton and was 90% Brits onboard - a friendly group of people. We especially enjoyed the private room on deck 14 for nightly happy hours or even just to get away during a cruising day to read. I liked the layout of the cabin over the typical Celebrity cabin - I found there to be more room in the closet with convenient shelving. The balcony was smaller but the weather wasn't warm so we didn't spend much time outside. What was confusing and served to cause us problems for one of our shore excursions is the concept of "ship time" vs. local time. I don't recall this ever being an issue with our Celebrity cruises but we were told to keep with "ship time" which was confusing with our tour pickup time. More children/families on this cruise. Never met the captain although we went to most nightly entertainment events. Read Less

This was our 1st cruise. Myself, Partner and 6yo daughter took the plunge and set off into the unknown. Overall we were very pleased with the whole experience. Pro's: Service all round was fantastic. Anything you ask for will be accomidated for. In particular, the dining room staff (Motie & Hank) were spot on. Cleanliness was fantastic throughout, there are cleaners at every point without being overly noticeable. Our Stateroom was well maintained and kept in good order by Jorge. The evening shows were good with a good mix of shows from comedy, dance and Broadway. The food was good, the windjamma had plenty of variety and was of good quality. The main dining was fantastic with a different selection of dishes every night. We did not try any of the speciality restaurants. Cons: Entertainment, Whilst the shows were good we didnt seem to find any of the day time activities to our appeal or engaging. I wasn't a particular fan of the cruise director (Cuddy), everything seemed to be about him often about his weight, This humour is funny day 1-3 , past that it becomes tiresome and slightly irritating. My only real frustration all cruise was the disembarkation time, 8am. This put me in a bit of a grumpy mood - we had to be up at 6am for breakfast and off the ship by 8am, chucku in a couple of hours travel and i turned a bit frustrated, trivual but could have been avoided. - Sam Read Less

Chose cruise to have a family holiday, Food was good, activities were plentiful, but this ship needs a good makeover. Smoking in the casino should be stopped, on deck four you have to take the elevator to deck five, walk through the Royal Promenade, and take the elevator again down to deck four just to move from front to back, without having to go through the stench of smoke. I don't think that any employee should have to work in a smoke filled environment. In the Windjammer a lot of the seats are threadbare, the ceiling looks as though it caved in at some point, and was replaced, badly. In the cabin that I shared with my wife, there were stains on the carpet, an adjoining door had a loose seal, and the seating area was covered in dust and bits of fluff the whole time. If I had to cruise again I would not choose to be on Navigator of the Seas. l Read Less
