This was my first cruise and the whole experience was awful. Room was very dirty, moldy toilets, strong mold/mildew smell in cabin, air filter was black with mold, and the water in the room came out milky white. Trash was left in can and under bed. Spoke with front desk assistant manager and he was unwilling to help us or notify the Captain, it was 3:30am and multiple guests were sleeping in the lobby! Not once did any employee apologize for these issues. I was told there was nothing more for them to do other than offer us a 20% future cruise credit. That is unacceptable. The “food” if that’s what they call it in the Windjammer Café was cold and had an awful taste seems frozen and microwaved. The only decent meal we had was at Chopped. We were told by our servers you only get the “good food” on 7days or more not on the budget cruises. These are just the issues I experienced personally, my family who was on the ship with us had bugs in their room!!! ZERO accountability on this ship. It was unsafe and unlawful to be subjected to those conditions. I will NEVER be on a Royal Caribbean cruise ever again. EVER! Read Less

We knew there would be "some" children on this cruise because it was over Thanksgiving, we DID NOT expect 2,000 children, yes this number was confirmed at the front desk. R.C. has turned into a cheap Disney cruise. R.C is catering to the family unit and now that I am a diamond member, I have taken a back seat to 10 year old brats !!! On our first night we were standing in line for the main dining room ( 8:30-late seating) wild kids running allover, one in particular with NO parental supervision was swinging his arms and ( accidentally-- I will give him that ) hit me in the face, right cheek--hard with fist-- ouch, parents did not say sorry, or anything, they looked at me like I was the criminal. The next nite I was walking the promenade when a young father & his 6 kids who he could not control were running up and down & in & out of shops all around the Christmas tree, when the child he was carrying who was 2-3 years old started screaming and trying to get free from his clutches, literally kicked me in the face, same place as the night prior, so my pictures from the rest of the cruise show a bruised & swollen face, oh yes, he didn't say sorry either. Dancing on tables, invading adult territory, a food fight in the elevator with bananas & fruit that I reported on Thanksgiving because an elderly lady slipped and almost fell. At lunch in the main dining room, I was asked if we would be willing to share ( which we enjoy), I said yes, but no children, the female matre de looked at me with disgust and said "all tables have children, you will have to wait, and she made us wait @ 20minutes and we were again treated like second class citizens. R.C recently added life guards. I spoke with one and he told me a child drown & died @ 2 months ago. I have ripped up my Diamond card & will start over with a grown up ship, we have cruised Celebrity, Holland America and others and hope they have not invaded them also, I guess a lot of it has to do with cheap family rates & family perks. This cruise was chosen for us by our sons and family. It was to celebrate our 50th anniversary. They choose well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our servers in the Sapphire dining room, Amergail and Desran were wonderful. Staff in the Windjammer also, were friendly and nice. Kept keeping the tables clean and brought something you needed. Entertainment was very good as well. Housekeeper kept room clean and provided items we needed. Various options to participate in or watch. Dancing instructors were fun and helpful. Ice show was well done. Travis Cloer was entertaining. The 70’s show on the promenade was entertaining. Trivia programs were fun. Casino was okay, shops were clean and organized. Didn’t avail of purchasing anything but, they were nice. Off shore excursions were booked by family but, what we did was fun. Pool areas were very nice and plenty of staff for that and bars. Sporting areas wer very nice as well. Grandchildren used the Flowrider, basketball court, ice skating, etc. Embarkation was smooth. Disembarkation could have been a bit better. Needed an adjustment on our final bill. The customer service had a long line. Felt all ares should have been open that morning. It left us separated from our family. Overall a good experience. If you want to eat after 10 in the evening and want more then a roll or a burnt pizza. Entertainment was a joke the cruise director needs replacing. Example colouring by numbers as an afternoon entertainment. The cruise seemed to concentrate on people who were returning customers rather then new. Formal nights were a joke, you got dressed up to walk into the dining room for your evening meal which you had done the night before. no captain, no entertainment, nothing special at all. did not bother after the 1st one. If you Smoke you are normally allowed to smoke in casino. Not on this ship on formal days all day, weather was bad so could not go up on deck and had to use cigar room which had such poor extractors and stunk, In the casino ashtray was a floor standing one which staff emptied out the ashtrays from the slot machines into and never got emptied all day. Everyone i spoke to and me included had charges for services not used added to bills. AFter 8 days at sea managed to get 3 hours in Boston. Management of Immigration was a joke we should have been first a 6.30 with people on excursions ( instead approx 1500 in gue, emigration delayed .with people queuing for 3 or more hours, will not go on but all i will say is i saw people crying with boredom, This cruise turned into a prison sentence. so will i use again never twice crew members maimed to music on the bridge on the promenade and that was about as lively as it got. This was our first experience of Royal Caribbean but sadly, very likely to be our last. Embarkation and disembarkation went quite quickly and smoothly but that is about it for the positives. We did not choose or cabin as it was part of a package deal but found it to be one of the smallest inside cabins we have ever had, very cramped. It was not very clean and obviously had not been hovered in a while as various items found on floor and in draws (hairgrips, buttons etc). The lack of complimentary toiletries was appalling, not even a shower cap ! Our bedding was not changed at all and turndown service was almost non existent. The food overall was poor and lukewarm and service in the main dining room slow. We felt a general lack of enthusiasm and disinterest from most of the staff. We booked two shore excursions on board, The Kennedy Space centre experience was very good from start to finish, but the New York Hop on/Hop off bus trip was terrible with nobody about to ensure safety or transport back to the ship. Might as well have saved money and booked it on line privately. Not much going on in the way of activities for a transatlantic cruise with several days at sea and sadly the entertainment (apart from the Ice show) was very poor. If I did a transatlantic again (this was my second) it would not be with Royal Caribbean on this ship. Read Less

We chose this cruise after sampling a PandO cruise in May. we liked that so much that we wanted to go again soon - having a small child meant that we have to stick to school holidays and this cruise was the only one available. Even though it was October we thought there would be enough to do on board to make it enjoyable. How wrong we were. There was hardly anything to do away from the elements which did not cost large amounts of money. The cabin - compared to P and O - was shabby- a stained, tatty settee, scuffed furniture, lots of dust under the bed, tatty shower room. the rooms were not sound proofed sufficiently and there were constant tannoys encouraging you to come along and spend yet more money! compared to P and O we could not believe the cost of things on board - I do not mind spending money but I object to being fleeced. The restaurants: the main dining room was poor - luke warm food with little taste. The "cafeteria" was little better - and it was nearly impossible to find a table regardless of when you turned up. finally I became seriously ill with food poisoning on the second night and I am still suffering now - despite several staff being aware of this no one followed up on how I was. I love to cruise and was extremely disappointed with this one. Gluten Free section in Windjammer was definitely not gluten free. Cleanliness in the Windjammer was not up to par. The stairs were filthy. On quite a few occassions there were no cups in the morning for coffee and no butter or peanut butter. When I asked to have peanut butter or butter one morning I was handed, from a cabinet, 2 tubs. I said “there is none of these things out” and he shut the door and walked away from me. We had to call 5 times because air conditioner was not working. They lost 2 of our bags for a whole section of luggage, #4, when we departed the ship and we were the first ones off. They have you put tags on your luggage but the numbers were all over the place and not where they were suppose to be. I don’t understand why there was no quality control who noticed that a partial section was missing it’s luggage. Read Less

Have just come back from this cruise and if you do not want to spend 14 nights without any sleep make sure you are not in room 9601or 9603. We spent every night being woken up at 1 and 3 in the morning by loud bangs and then the sound of gushing water. To be told that the main pipe ran through the room and they were emptying the Jacuzzi. On a positive note the main dinning room staff and room staff were fantastic and cannot give them enough praise for making all our dining in the main dinning room and windjammers very enjoyable. As treat we did the chefs table which I could highly reccommed the food and wine were amazing and the waiter very knowledgeable in the wines that were provide and how they matched the food. First of all, I previously cruised with Royal Caribbean "Allure of the Seas", and it was so exhilarating, I was looking forward to cruising with their Navigator of the Seas. Alas, I was completely disappointed in my experience with this ship. Here are some of the reasons: 1. When the ship docked, there was no one to direct passengers to the gangway. Yes, there were signs posted on the walls, but when a whole crowd of people are in the hallway, the signs can't be seen, and there is a lot of confusion about which way to go - right or left. Some passengers, were even saying that the exit was at the other end of the ship. This same confusion and scenario repeated itself at subsequent ports. It would have been so simple if there was a staff member at, or near the elevators directing people to the exit door leading to the gangway. 2. All the poultry and fish in the main dining room and the Windjammer were overcooked. The gravest, culinary sin was the "Filet Mignon" in the Windjammer, which was way overdone, chewy, and quite ghastly. A hockey puck would have tasted better. 3. The majority of food was also over-salted, yet the scrambled eggs, omelets, etc. had no salt and were quite tasteless. 4. To be fair, the tastiest food on the Navigator of the Seas was the Italian food. This is not my favourite type of food, but it was the tastiest on this ship. 5. For those passengers who do not particularly like gambling or drinking, there were not enough other activities to keep one interested and entertained on this ship. A lot of the activities were quite boring, and too many of them ended up being sales pitches, and "buy", "buy", "buy" events. 6. The shows were amateurish, almost laughable compared to those on the "Allure of the Seas" (for example). They were lacking professionalism, polish and finesse, and they reminded us passengers of high school concerts that just don't quite make the grade. 7. A few times, the Dance Fit classes were scheduled to be held pool side, but because of inclement weather, the activity moved inside to the Cosmopolitan Club, and no announcement was made, so those of us who arrived a minute or two later, had to ask the lifeguard where was the class, and if he did not know, he had us ask the Towel Rental guy about it. Lovely. Such poor communication and customer service for a cruise ship. This was aggravating and irritating to us passengers. 8. The Line Dance class was cancelled, and no announcement was made. Those of us who showed up for it at poolside then thought that it must have moved to the Cosmopolitan Club. So the group of us headed up to the Club. Nothing was happening there, and the personnel there knew nothing about any Line Dance class. Rushing down to Guest Services, we were then informed that the class was cancelled. When we asked why was the cancellation not announced, the answer was that "not too many people are interested in that class". A simple announcement saying that the "Line Dance class has been cancelled" would have been the courteous thing for Royal Caribbean to do for the few of us who wanted to do this activity. 9. Some of us tried to enjoy table tennis, but Deck 14 was so windy for so many days, that it was impossible to play. If this happens more often than not, why doesn't Royal Caribbean devise some sort of enclosure that blocks off the wind so that passengers can enjoy this activity? Thumbs down for this ship, its activities, its entertainment, and its food. Read Less

We like the food. Their provision for various diets was excellent. We are particularly interested in gluten free food and their provision was outstanding. There are a lot of various activities and theatre shows were outstanding. We did go on 2 excretions and they were both well organised and very good. We ate at the Windjammer all the time. Our daughter, husband and their 2 children also came on the same cruise and it was very nice to be together. We went to all the theatre shows which were a mixture of singing, dancing and comedy. They were all 1st class. We also watched the ice skating show which was excellent. The children went on different activities including rock climbing which they enjoyed. The stateroom attendant was very good and efficient. He used the towels to create miniature animals (monkey etc.) and leave in the room. The cabin was tidied up and cleaned twice a day. All in all it was probably the best holiday we had. Read Less

Amazing experience, totally recommend Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas. We had an amazing holiday, so relaxing and great there is an adults sunbathing area separated from the children's area. All staff exceptional, food great, entertainment great. Stayed on the ship in Malaga as after seeing Italy I don't think there was any comparison. Two downsides with the execursions which are expensive: 1) Rome in a Day - far too packed and would be good to focus on just one area (i.e. the Vatican, instead of the Colossium, Trevis Fountain and the Vatican) 2) Beautiful Portifino - advertised as 90 minutes by speed boat. Actually a 45 minute ride by bus and then 15 minutes on a Ferry. But Royal Caribbean did refund all passengers 30%. I can honestly say this was one of my best holidays, I will definitely book with Royal Caribbean again. Does anyone know how we can join the loyalty programme? Read Less

We are ardent and addicted cruisers (just in 2017 we are having 6 cruises). We love good service and we are willing to pay for it. So we choose to sail as suite guests. Before we book this cruise we've been told, that the cruise ship was refurbished in 2014. We also been told, that the beloved coastal kitchen will not be on board, however the Chops will be operated very comparable as breakfast and lunch venue. Well - to make things short. The ship is old and the suite was everything else but refurbished. The carpet was from 2002, as was the furniture. Many doors did not close, some parts of the furniture been loose or missing. Not only that, also simple fixes like paint or glue wasn't used too much. Not only that the suite was very old and down lived, it was also bad maintained and dirty. The overall cabin experience was very disappointing. The concierge lounge was dark (no windows) and stinky. Not really a place you like to be in. The concierge itself is great, but what can she do if the ship is just not what it should be? Also - she has not the power to fix things. We asked plenty of time to talk to the F&B Manager but it was denied until the end of the cruise. Dining - a huge and important task of cruising. The quality of main dining food was very low. We just disembarked Norwegian couple of weeks ago and the difference is like day and night. Quality of food on the Navigator was low and the service probably the grumpiest we ever seen on a cruise ship. We complained but nothing changed. Not a single bit of smile on the service. We tried it 3 times but then we gave up. Paid extra for the specialty restaurants or just went to Windjammer. Windjammer was a bit better from the food but the quality of ingredients been low to. Chops for breakfast and lunch - what a joke. No passion, no love, no suite service. Lunch is only served on sea days, and then, you are having 3 dishes to choose from. Chicken, Beef or Vegie. Every sea day the same. Also - on sea days every "normal" guest could come to have lunch at Chops - for 20 USD. But surprise, that guest receives a full menue with plenty of choices. What a joke - a suite guest which pays thousands of dollars extra upfront will be served 3 choices and every other guest can upgrade for 20 USD for a much better experience. Room Service - had nice menus in the room, but if you want to order it happens 8 out of 10 times, that they told you it is not available. On the other side - breakfast on room service was excellent. Specialty Restaurants - Chops was ok but far below the experience of the bigger ships. Sabor was "so la la"... probably a 3 out of 10. Giovanni was unexpectedly the best experience. We really liked it, but again and I would give a 8 out of 10. Drinking - well - I love wines therefore I have the Ulitmate Package. There are a lot of wines by the glass. Many are below 14 USD but most are above (means you have to pay extra). That wouldn't really be an issue, but most of the wines have not been on board at all. So you order a wine and you have been told that the wine is sold out as it is just the second cruise after the Atlantic transfer and the restock didn't happen yet. Well - I have to pay the full fee and expect the full dining and drinking experience. By the way - it happens 12 times that the wine I was asking for wasn't available. Cocktails are ok - the pool bar guys are great. The windjammer team is 50/50 - half is great and half is lousy. Again - it misses the passion of the team. As I said we had the ultimate package - but please don't try to order a Espresso and a water on the same time. They will tell you "only one at a time". I would understand if I would like to order two beers on the same time, but an espresso and a water - in most restaurants this is standard anyway. Big mistake Royal! The shows - a lot of singing, but no musical or big show like on other ships. The concierge seats are on the upper balcony - so make sure to bring your googles otherwise you are not part of the show. The ice show on the other hand was amazing. Very entertaining and a lot of fun. Internet - well, RCL did it again. They sell you Internet Voom Service but it is everything else then Voom. What happens is, that they are having Satellites up there which are beaming into the main sailing regions to provide fast internet. This works well in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. But (all experienced by ourselves) - if you are sailing in areas like Asia, Mid East, Northern Canada or like in our this year trip in the Baltic sea - there is just almost no reception. Means - you might be able to receive a text message but please don't even try to stream movies of sending pictures to the beloved ones. What I don't understand - RCL knows that before selling it but they still do. Nevertheless they tell you to read the disclaimer that this can happen. I think this is fraud! Selling is actually also a key word. After complaining at the main dining room our head waiter came and said sorry. He then said "we are offering Galley Tours" and asked if we would be interested. We thought it is kind of a nice gesture after having a bad dining experience. But after we said that we would love to join for the galley tour he said, this will be 35 USD per person. So even in the event of bad service and saying sorry, the head waiter tries to sell something. Also - you can hardly walk the royal promenade as it is overloaded with sales booths. Whenever you are walking through the ship they try to sell you something - souvenirs, massages, specialty restaurants, shoe insoles, etc. etc. .... you feel like on the Royal Bazar. Disembarkation on port days. Well - badly organized. In Saint Petersburg it took 90 Minutes to leave the ship. People been queuing up and squeezing on the stair cases. The cruise director announced that "we are working on it" instead of organizing things better. Would have been easy to tell people to go back to their rooms until things are organized. I also would expect to have for suite guests an extra exit. Again - it is not existing. Other cruise lines are doing that - Royal not. What else to say - well, I could complain a lot but don't want to over stress the situation. I would not recommend to book a suite on this ship as you don't receive much of an extra service or any perks you really would enjoy. You are treated like everyone else even by paying a lot of extra. The ship is old and did see the best days long time ago. The refurbishment in 2014 was majorly the extension and adding of many rooms. It was more about making more revenues instead of adding a better and fresh cruise experience. Overall experience - you can feel that the company saves costs on every corner. You also can feel that they have a head of revenue on board (thats actually the only Officer you really can tell it is on board!). Everywhere they try to sell you something. The ship is old and needs an overhaul badly. The crew needs to be trained and the concierge lounge needs to be relocated to a place with windows. On top of it - add the Royal Suite Program. This here - is anything else than a sweet suite experience. Read Less

I am not a seasoned cruiser by any means but have sailed enough to understand a good ship, good value for money and just how enjoyable cruising can be. The Navigator is a ship that is showing its age, it has been on the sea since 2002 and the facilities are dated. The dining room service is awful, passengers needing hospital treatment after eating in the main restaurant is the worst we heard but by the end of the cruise the windjammer at night was a busy place as more and more people stopped attending the main dining room to eat due to the really poor quality of the food. Docking was unorganised at every port with long delays getting on and off board and the final departure at Southampton was farcical. All normal exits from the ship were sealed off and you were not allowed to use them, everyone was herded into the dining room and made to make a big loop right around level four, as we had chosen to take our own bags off, the environment was a health and safety hazard, everyone was trying to negotiate their luggage around chairs and tables and a lot of tempers became flared. My recommendation is avoid the Navigator of the seas at all costs if you can, I know there are a lot of people from this cruise who will boycott the ship going forward. Poor food, poor service, jumped up staff and just an all round poor experience Read Less

Family trip to travel home from Florida. It was an absolute disaster, the food was inedible cold and on two occasions the meat was raw.. I made several complaints to customer services and to F&B director but no acceptable improvements were made, my wife and I contracted Gastrointestinal problems on penultimate day and we were quarantined in our suite until we disembarked. If you or your family and friends are considering using this cruise line may I suggest that you reconsider and look for a different company. My wife and I are so aggrieved and disappointed that we wasted so much time and expense on a trip that we were so looking forward to experiencing and to then find it necessary to have to spend so much time and effort complaining I trust that a responsible person in this organisation will read this and do something about it. Will I ever hear anything from them, if my experience o far is anything to go by I seriously doubt it. Read Less

The only thing I can say about this cruise were the workers. They all were fabulous but the rest of the ship you can have. The buffet had the same things everyday and were the cheapest food you can find. The main dining room and our servers were fabulous and so was the food. The entertainment was awful. The singers and dance show was I would say, as bad as a kindergarden show and the sound was so loud we needed ear plugs. The comedian and vantriliquest were good. I had a Chinese mother and father with their 6yr old next door to us that cried and ran around in their suite most of the night and we got no sleep. They were smoking in the casino which in my opinion is out dated. They should have had one corner in the back for smoking which made me sick. No more Royal Caribbean. Read Less

This was a spring break trip with my family. This was our 5th cruise but 1st with RCL. We flew into Miami on the day the cruise was leaving since we booked the flights with Royal Caribbean. We arrived just fine and were put on a bus and taken to the ship, no problems. The ship is very pretty and looks pretty well maintained except for some of the artwork around the ship. The shadow boxes seem to feature different types and styles of fashion. Many of the objects were covered in at least an inch of dust, dresses displayed behind the glass were falling apart and again covered in a ton of dust. If its something that is falling apart - it should be removed and replaced. We were happy about the hand sanitized stations all over the ship. Nobody in our group got sick so that was a good thing. We stayed in an inside cabin for the first and last time. I wanted to experience it since I am a travel agent, I did not want to suggest a type of room unless I had stayed in one. The room was smaller than my bathroom, it really was - we measured it when we came home. How they expect 4 people to stay in that room is crazy. The bathroom was very tiny and it was hard to turn around in the shower, you could sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the sink at the same time. They don't change the sheets in your room ever- there was a small red mark on my side of the sheets and it was always there. The floor in our room was only cleaned once after we brought sand in on our shoes from Cozumel. Shopping on the ship was bad, everything was cheaply made but expensive. The shopping on other ships we have been on was wonderful, this was just bad. Johnny Rockets was the only place that had warm food and good service. When we ate at the Windjammer Cafe (buffet) the selection was not very good, there was no service, the food was cold and it was hard to a seat. In the main dining room it took a long time to get our food, it was always cold unless it was ice cream and that was usually pretty well melted. We all had the soda package but we had to go to the bar and they took everyone who needed mixed drinks first so we waited a long time. Most of the entertainment was boring, we love going to the shows on the other ships we have been on. This ship only offered one show an evening and all except one was so boring (unless you are 70 years old) The first show was a ballroom dancing show so we thought it would be like Dancing with the Stars type of show but, it started with the song Moon River ... and just got worse. I was jealous of the people who were able to walk out, we were stuck in the middle of a row so we could not sneak out. Then we saw the ice skating show - it was nice but the one skater kept falling down. They had a Bon Jovi tribute band on another night and since we love Bon Jovi we enjoyed that show. We missed the show on the last night so I can't comment about that one. Overall the service on the ship was not friendly. The staff was super serious and not cheerful or outgoing. We had to flag down to get any help. I use a motorized scooter and it seemed to annoy the staff. We have sailed on 4 other Carnival Cruises and they were always helpful, friendly, outgoing and just so much better in every way. The only Wow we had was the Wow why didn't we sail on Carnival again. We love to snorkel on our cruises and were really excited to take a tour in the Bahamas but we were not in port long enough to take the tour we were really wanted to take. We took a tour with the cruise line, it was ok. We were only in the water about an our and it only stopped in one place. In Cozumel - we have been there 5 times in the past so we did our own excursion and spent the day at a resort, we had a nice day. On Carnival they have a long pier but they allow rickshaw drivers to pick you up and take you to the shopping area, you just give them a tip but, they don't have any on RCL so it makes it hard if you can't walk far distances. I traveled with my husband, 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They did not like this cruise either. It would be great if you just wanted to get on a ship, lay out in the sun and go to bed early. We will never go on this ship again. I already booked another cruise on RCL for Christmas but, I am going to see if that ship has better reviews or I am going to cancel it and go on NCL or Carnival. Being a travel agent, I would not suggest this ship for anyone under 70 years old. Read Less

Specialty dining service was absolutely terrible across all 3 venues I tried. Food was inedible at Sabor and Filet's over cooked at Chops & Giovannis. Too much upselling of everything including specialty restaurants which are not special at all. Diamond Lounge Concierge absolutely ruined my trip, you can see my full review if you are interested in finding out more about how he helped me to cancel all 4 of my upcoming RCL cruises. Overall bar service was challenging due to the sheer number of people trying to get drinks and the cutbacks in overall staff to support the bars. The ports of call were very welcoming as i have never visited any of the ABC islands and these were probably my favorite cruise ports of all time. They offered guests a full day in each of the ABC islands to explore and for those who like to snorkel as I do these were some of the best islands for snorkeling. Read Less

Eighth cruise with Royal Caribbean, and thought we would be loyal to this cruise line forever, but this will be our last one. Staff has been significantly cut back and service has suffered. The overall appearance of the ship is run down and dirty. A fellow passenger said that he'd been on the same ship a year ago, and although he'd got a lot of gray hair over the year, he didn't get as old as this ship. The signage at some of the bars and cafes was burned out - what does it take to fix? The cappuccino maker didn't work in any of the specialty restaurants, which you have to pay for, so the waiter directed us to the coffee bar. In the past, they would have gone to get the cappuccino for us, wherever they had to go. When we first started cruising, before entering a restaurant or returning from an excursion, there would be a staff member with a bottle of hand sanitizer that we had to use before entering. On this cruise, never once were we advised to wash our hands, and although there were hand sanitizer dispensers around, the were often empty. The cutbacks are more important to the cruise line leadership than the safety of passengers. The curtain in the dining room had a large, visible 6 inch tear in it, that I had to stare at each dinner. There was a big yellow stain on my pillow case when we boarded. The shears in our stateroom were stained. Our sink dripped and piped dripped on the bathroom floor. Our fridge didn't work. Carpets and wood flooring were worn. My husband made a mistake that locked our safe, so we had to call maintenance. It took 3 different people to open it. The first 2 said it needed to be drilled. Then the third person came and using the tools of the original 2 people, opened it in seconds. The first 2 people were incompetent. The same thing happened with our stateroom door lock. We returned to our cabin one afternoon and a maintenance guy was working on the lock that was fine when we went out earlier. Never really understood why they were working on it, but he said he fixed it and left, and then when we went to leave, the door wouldn't lock. It took 2 more attempts to fix it right. Clearly the cruise line has gone down over the past few years, so we'll be try out different cruise lines in the future. No more Royal Caribbean in our future. Read Less

We have been cruising for many years, and had over 20 cruises with different cruise lines. We came with our family and this was really a bad experience for us. You should look for other cruise lines as Royal Caribbean tries to make money on the expense of quality and services. They will rip you off with all kind of charges. On Labadee, which is actually the ship-on-shore, as it is a private area of Royal Caribbean, charges are extremely high. They found the way to charge for everything - that is free on ship.Great way to make extra money.. If you are looking for quality food, book other cruise lines.Regent of the seas or Oceania. If you want to drink espresso, bear in mind you have only 1 station on the whole ship. You will be hustled during the whole cruise with different kind of product marketing . Summary: the worst cruise ever had. Read Less

I choose this cruise based on the destination. I should have chosen a different line and ship. This ship boats 10 pools and whirlpools when in fact there are really only 2 main pools and an adult pool. They also count a small slash pool that must be only 1 foot deep and about 2 feet all they way around. They also count a whirlpool that is in the spa that you must pay for. The food is bad quality and little variety. The food in the main dining room is bad. They just overdo everything by trying to make it look fancy and it taste like nothing. They prepared my well done steak, rare with pink meat, 3 times! There were children diving in the whirlpools and empty cups and bowls in the elevators. There were kids running loudly up and down the halls taking out the do not disturb signs out of the cabin doors. This resulted in an anxious maid coming in my room while I was undressed. Navigator of the Seas does not live up to it's hype and is a waste of money. We were so happy to get back to home good food! Read Less

GENERAL: We have cruised many times and experience has taught me to look at a reviewers experience level - i.e. new cruisers think everything is great, but experienced cruises see more objectively. Our vacation was ruined by Navigator of the Seas. EMBARKATION: * Complete disgraceful mess * * * * * much worse than other ports * No communication, no one outside the building providing info about bags. No one providing any direction inside the building, asked guy about the Crown and Anchor line, he sent us to the top tier line which got us dirty looks. You follow instructions from RCCL people and they get angry with you. We will NEVER use Miami, least for RCCL, again. Worst experience. THE SHIP: Navigator is "Voyager" class so based upon experience we expected quality. However, this was a ship BADLY in need of maintenance time in dry dock, it was last refurbished in 2014 and was in poor condition. * A/C worked poorly in both cabins (we had to be moved after 4 days) due to balcony doors leaking * Toilet overflowed filling the floor with water, leaking onto the cabin carpet * Toilet stopped flushing (caused us to demand another cabin) * Balcony paint in poor condition, rust showing * Bed was very hard, blanket rolled up under sagging section to prevent sagging * Hair dryer not working * Carpet moldy smell due to toilet overflow * Hallway carpet outside cabin moldy smell due to bathroom leak DINING: Windjammers food had really degraded since we sailed Oasis in 2015. Breakfast had the same items daily, 'hash browns' seem to be McDonalds prepackaged product, almost no food from scratch, just poor quality like I've never seen in my prior 10 cruises. Lunch a bit better. Some variance, quality slightly better, deserts fair at best. The main dining room experience may have been good for some but not for us. Food was fair at best and has really degraded, cheaper quality meals and meats. Beef tenderloins used to be a whole piece meat, now its 2 thin slices. Quality entrees such as Beef Wellington, Swordfish, Beef Bourguignon, and others are gone. Duck served one night was VERY tough so I gave up on one of my most desired dishes. Lamp chops good but very THIN and each of the 3 chops gave only 2 bites - 6 bites total. Did have prime rib 2 nights though. "Creme Brulee" was NOT made from either eggs or cream (that's how they are made), some crappy corn starch based junk, mine at home is vastly better and real. But the really troubling part was our waiter, hands down the worst we've ever had. A good waiter must do more than take your order and bring plates of food, local restaurants do that. The most important job is to provide recommendations on food and explain how the food is prepared and served. WHAT will we get on the plate and WHAT is especially good. He didn't do any of that. After 5 nights we gave up and started listening to a nearby waiter for his recommendations. The next night we resorted to asking him directly, in which case our waiter quickly ran over to cut him off by taking our order. He couldn't explain how food was prepared or served. Part of cruising is the dining experience which is heavily influenced by the waiter's knowledge and skill, which he lacked. Perhaps the trouble was his English, he said little and was hard to understand. On day 7 (of a 9 day cruise) I had a bad meal in dining room that upset my stomach and lost the contents an hour later. The following day my stomach was upset all day long. But it was in the early hours of day 9 that I spent much of the evening on the toilet with diahrea. The next morning on day 9 I went to the ship's medical facility and was treated for, what they would NOT say, was food poisoning and they followed CDC prootcol for the Norovirus. I know this is the case as my wife is a nurse and were know others had the same. Being the case I was then restricted and imprisoned in our cabin. My wife got sick also. After that room service of bland food was all I could order, it took a long time to deliver, and was completely tasteless and cold. We couldn't wait to disembark the ship. POOR COMMUNICATION: * Our fist cabin attendant was NOT informed of bathroom problems in our first cabin despite 2 calls to Guest Services. * Our 2nd cabin attendant was NOT informed we were moving to another cabin and I had to explain WHO I was and WHY I was in, what she thought, was an empty cabin. PROMISES MADE BUT NOT KEPT: * Dining room manager DID NOT followup with table request issue on day 1 as promised at 2:30 PM. This had to be resolved at the start of the dinner seating who knew nothing of our 2:30 PM request. * Guest Services did not send anyone to first cabin to clean up toilet overflow despite 2 requests. Cabin attendant was unaware there was a problem in our cabin (communication issue). * Guest services promised they would take an inappropriate charge off our account for a complimentary movie but did not (we cannot get this resolved). * Guest services promised to deliver an updated statement to our cabin reflecting a credit for the inappropriate charge but did not. We still no documentation of charges. NOTE: On day 2 we asked for another cabin and were denied by the Guest Services Manager, Tyler Parker, who said no other cabin was available. On day 4 a cabin became available despite the fact the ship was at sea so it was impossible to disembark the ship. Guest services lied to us on day 2 about no other cabin available and they were perhaps the biggest disappointment on our cruise. Guest Services talked, gave excuses, made promises, didn't keep them, and then treated us like we were the problem. All problems stated above stem from management which means they are not competent (Hotel Director, Restaurant Manager, etc) because they keep themselves isolated from customers to avoid problems. CONCLUSION: This was hands down the WORST experience we've ever sustained. Further, we entrusted Royal Caribbean with our hard earned money and it was wasted on this cruise, we did not get the services we paid for. At this point we cannot trust Royal Caribbean with our vacation money because they own Navigator and keep it at sea in poor condition with bad management. Read Less

Loyal RCL customer 91 RCL & 45 X cruises. but this was my all time worst cruise ever !!! It saddens me greatly to rate NOS so low but this may be too high ! Rarely saw anyone from the hotel department with strips around the ship, I think the officers were hiding from the unhappy guest which only amplified the problems ! Customer Service Desk was extremely slow because they were hoping guests would give up and go away which only lengthened each guest visit ! Food Absolutely Horrible and ran out of some main courses mid-meal ! Head Waiter, Waiter, and even the Asst Waiter consistently apologizing for poor quality of food, worried it was going to affect their service rating ! As an seasoned cruiser I saw that it was a Chef problem, I actually lost weight ! Crow & Anchor program non-existent ( no loyalty ambassador ), lunch with an officer an insult ! If this was my first RCL cruise I probably would not come back ! Read Less

We have been cruising for years and always had a wonderful time.We had never booked with Royal Caribbean, but heard great things about them. Sadly this was not the case on Navigator of the Seas !! We arrived at the port a couple hours early and expected a wait, but not to be bused over to Bayside and never picked back up. Most people had to get a cab back to the ship in fear of missing the sailing. When we finally arrived back at the port it was to LONG lines of VERY angry cruisers waiting to board and we were screamed and yelled at for being moved to the front of the line. The dining room staff was GREAT, and the only place on the ship that had palatable food, the rest was TERRIBLE. First time I have ever been served a crab cake made with imitation crab meat.....GROSS !!! Prime rib was on the menu, but we were told they were out when we tried to order it. We purchased the drink package only to find out they did not offer the brands they had listed on their website. Toilet was backed up the first two-three days and the A/C was a hit and miss adventure. We had some sincere "I am sorry" from the staff and we received an apology note and fruit plate from the dining room staff on our last cruise day. Very sad when your waiter has to apologize for the food he is serving you !!! NO poolside entertainment, they had a small band that played for 1-2 hours each day at sea and a few contest. We truly could not wait to get off this ship !!! Read Less

Ok so where to start, so many things to say. First of all, we had to wait 4 1/2 hours in line in the heat just to get on the ship. We never went to a terminal. It was a tent that was even hotter inside to wait in more lines. After a couple hours they finally started passing out water while we waited in line. We didn't leave until 6pm and when we got onboard there we didn't get to grab a bite to eat because we had to go immediately to the muster drill. By the this time we were starving and went looking for food. Could we find any? NO!!! We were supposed to wait for the dining room to open. I had an anxiety attack at this point and started crying and begging for food so I went up to one of the waiters and started yelling at them that I just wanted food and to sit down. Something to the effect of: "Can't we even get fed on this stupid ship? I just want some food and my feet hurt and I want to sit down already. We've only been waiting for hours in line!" Yes, embarrassing, but it happened. I've got to say they found me a seat and within two minutes moved us into the dining room. Probably to keep everyone else from rioting. After A glass of wine and some bread I started to calm down, ate and went straight to the stateroom and to bed. Everything was ok until we got to the royal Caribbean port in Haiti. We booked an excursion for jet skiing. With our friends. The staff on the excursion was rude and antagonizing. The chicks name was HANNAH and she gave us misinformation and was rude to us because we are middle age and treated us like we were geriatric. She almost let our friend drown because she didn't follow safety protocol or recommendations for the excursion. After 30 minutes of our friend in the water she decided to stop laughing and saying Ebro thing was cool and called for help. After the boat came and took our friends away we just wanted to be done and on our way. They charged us twice for the locker because of their mistake. The port shopping was horrible because the people are so aggressive and rude. Plus, they lie to you just to get you to buy. One guy actually got in my husbands face and told him "LOOK AT ME! I'm taking to you." The only good thing was that the ship provided food and beverages. On Wednesday night there was supposed to be a Latin pool party but the whole deck got flooded from the pools because the ship was rocking so badly since we sailed that it was cancelled because they were worried the band would get electrocuted. So were we. They told everyone to go to the Cosmopolitan Club to continue the party. That was a disaster. The do apparently didn't get the memo and some old lady started yelling and cussing at him that no one liked his music and to play something else. When he did, she started yelling at people to get up and dance, so we left. At 1am, said lady was leading a protest two decks below us, stomping and chanting "This stupid "A" (profanity) boat sucks!" because they closed the only dance club early. This went on for 30 minutes. At 4am there was an explosion and I thought the ship was sinking. Never found out what that was about. For the first 3 days the hallway smelled of sewer. There was only one dance club on the ship. The Latin band was awesome! But they only get a corner the deck and it was super crowded because it was the only place that had decent dance music. I called and bought a gift for my husband for our anniversary, which was on the 29th. I waited all day and nothing came. Next day we went to guest services and to find out what happened and they apologized for the error, which I they never said what happened but they ruined the surprise. They tried to make up for it and offered us a bottle of champagne, which we never recieved. They also offered us dinner at one of the premium restaurants to make up for it. That was nice, but ,y husband woke up sick and it wa on the last day of the cruise so I had dinner with my friend and not our anniversary dinner. So no anniversary celebration for us on the ship, thanks to ROYAL CARIBBEAN. Needless to say, we will never ever travel with them again. Worst vacation of our lives. Read Less
