Cruise chosen because of destinations. Dining and entertainment was excellent the variety and performers were top class. The service provided by dining room staff and stateroom attendant was excellent and the food was excellent too. The ship was well maintained, clean with first class hygiene standards. We found the excursion staff not as helpful as I would have expected and one or two were quite surly. While an airport transfer was not available on the RCI website in advance a transfer to Gatwick was available on board at $100 whereas National Express was £24 after a short taxi ride for £5. WiFi was $12.99 a day and one had to purchase 12 days. The WiFi was extremely slow and expensive. I would have expected WiFi to be free as it is on board Emirates flights and many coffee shops, airports and National Express buses. We found the ship to be too big and crowded and difficult to find seating in coffee shop, windjammer and lounges. The time ashore at some of the ports of call was too short and the excursions desk would not or could not provide adequate information as to alternative tour arrangements available dockside. On the whole though the cruise was enjoyable with 4 relaxing days at sea and well chosen ports of call. Read Less

By way of background this with my first cruise with Royal Caribbean having previously cruised with P&O and Disney. I am a Brit (relevant as we are never as effusive as our US cousins) and travelling with my Mum on a girls holiday. The trip was 12 nights to the Baltic from Southampton. Ship I know that Navigator of the Seas is due for a dry dock but generally the ship was in good repair even if some of the décor is a little dated now. The ship is of a good size and easy to navigate. I found the boards at the lift (elevators) both useful and informative. This did not of course prevent me regularly walking up the wrong corridor to reach my cabin! Cabin We had a Grand Suite (15654) on Deck 10. This was of a good size (particularly the bathroom) and was kept spotless throughout by our cabin steward Joseph who was friendly and keen but due to limited English we didn't exchange much more than pleasantries in the corridor. The suite had a sofa bed as well as the main bed which worked well for Mum and I giving us both separate sleeping areas. Before cruising I had read a lot about uncomfortable beds but both of us had no issues at all and slept very well. Suite Benefits I know there are a lot of questions about the benefits of a suite and whilst there is a generic list I think there is variety in practice. By way of summary we had: Priority Embarkation Concierge Lounge with canapés and drinks from 5-8pm daily and continental breakfast Breakfast service in Chops Grille Dedicated Seating Area in Metropolis Theatre Reserved Seating on Deck by the Main Pool Priority seating in Anytime Dining Priority Disembarkation from Vintages with Patricia our concierge Dining This is one of two areas where I had issues. We had anytime dining. Firstly if we hadn't had priority seating with our gold card the wait would have been untenable. I heard reports of well over an hour waits. On previous cruises the majority of our dining was in the main dining room at night however due to a mixture of quality of food and menus that held no appeal whatsoever other than 3 nights we dined in the Windjammer. Other guests in the concierge lounge reported long waits and cold or poor quality food on main dining. In one case dinner took 3 hours due to shocking waits between courses. Onto more positive aspects of dining, Chops Grille was fantastic for dinner and the Windjammer was consistently good and often had many of the choices from the main dining room. As there seems to be an obsession with Lobster on the boards I would highlight that this was only available once in the main dining room (second formal night) and as I dined at Chops that night I can't comment on whether it was also available in the Windjammer. Entertainment and Activities First the good: the Soul group that headlined the first night and Tenors Unlimited were excellent. I can't comment on the comedians or musician as we didn't attend those nights. Darren Day was also on the cruise as a headliner and whilst I didn't see the show I think the term headliner is stretching the term. Outside the main theatre the ice show was enjoyable and the guitarist playing on board was always pleasant to listen to. Onto the bad: the ships own performers who did 3 shows (I saw 2) were awful. The quality was frankly embarrassing. With a couple of exceptions the dancers were untalented and disinterested and the singers were decidedly average. We voted with our feet. Service In our cabin and the concierge lounge service was faultless. Elsewhere on the ship there was the usual mix of great, good and fair service. I don't make any particular demands on the staff so can't comment further. Ports and Shore excursions We predominantly self toured with the exception of St Petersburg where we took 3 ship tours (Hermitage (and Gold Room), Peterhof and Fountains, and, a folk evening at the theatre). All ship tours were well organised and the folk evening in particular was fabulous. Slight niggles: the ship could organise disembarkation at St Petersburg better as it was a melee and we were delayed over 30 minutes when 5 from our tour got stuck in the queue which had just stopped moving in the immigration hall. Oslo was visited on a Sunday and it was shut. Unfortunately the same could be said for Helsinki as it was the Midsummer holiday and all shops and some museums were shut. Internet The internet merits its own comments. The speed was particularly poor and in no way could you stream. Embarkation and Disembarkation Both were extremely easy with no issues whatsoever. Summary We have had a wonderful trip and would cruise again with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

Boarding as always with RC very easy and slick. Great cruise destinations although four port days with the two middle days being St Petersburg was very tiring as we had booked the two day tour of St Petersburg which i0 hours each day. It was also quite crowded at the main attractions, but the world cup was on so that didn't help. Food and service in the main sapphire dining room was poor we had five night speciallity dining package which was good so only had five nights dining in the sapphire dining room. the other two nights we spent in the windjammer which was better by far then the main dining room. We were on Navigator in December 16 and the main dining experiance has certainly got worse. not that it was that good then either. The entertainment was also exactly the same as December 16 vertually word for word and dance for dance. Read Less

We have visited the Baltic before and realised that there is much more to see and do than one cruse can cater for. We were in a Grand Suite on deck 10 which was roomy and clean. The suite attendant was efficient but we would have expected a resupply of fruit on a 12 day cruise. The MDR was a disappointment from the start. The two of us were assigned to a table for ten and no one else showed up! Nevertheless it still took almost two hours to get served and the food was mediocre and lukewarm. The next night (a formal evening) we went to Izumi where the food and service was excellent. The following night we did not like the menu in the MDR and ate in the Windjammer. Our actions prompted both the maitre’d and concierge to interrogate us as to why we were not using the MDR. Judging by the amount of people in the Windjammer we were not alone. We spent the rest of the cruise dining in the Winjammer, Izumi and Chops Grill. All were good but the service in Izumi got very slow towards the end. With the exception of the Ice Show, which was excellent, the production shows were poor. There was no spectacle and the songs were by and large unknown. The cast seemed disinterested and just went through there paces. To make matters worse much of it is mimed. By contrast the ice dancers really look like they are enjoying themselves and as a result so does the audience, The featured performers were average to good. The shore trips organised by RCL were very good with excellent guides. In St Petersburg we participated in the 2 day exclusive tour. As There were only 16 participants the guide was able to get us around quite quickly without the need to be constantly round up stragglers. This meant we had more time in locations. I do not think we could have seen more in the two days. Embarkation and disembarkation were effortless in both cases taking less than ten minutes. Read Less

We had a lovely cruise vacation experience. The crew and staff on board did a great job, working very hard to make sure all your wishes and desires are accommodated. We did only shore excursions through RCI some of which were better than others, times in some of the ports felt very short and lead to feeling rushed on some of the excursions. Really heavy traffic in some of the ports of call also lead to some discomfort and resulted in delays. Cruising is becoming increasingly popular and it seems that the smaller ports of call cannot accommodate and handle the amount of ships and guests flooding their shores. These were minor issues and I believe ultimately it's what you make of every situation. If you go with an open mind and a bit of patience your vacation experience could be just as great. The variety of entertainment was also very good. Some of the shows were a bit load and some events resulted in the promenade getting flooded with too many guests. If you don't mind to stay clear of over crowded areas while activities are happening then you should be in good shape. Read Less

The cruise was good, as was the food and entertainment. Cruise ship staff were excellent. If I have a criticism it would be the distance the ship was docked from the the town/city we were visiting, also the length of time we were allowed to spend on shore at some ports of call was not enough. Food/Dining Cabin Entertainment we all excellent I would go again, but would necessarily go shore at all locations. Tallinn and Saint Petersburg were the highlights of the cruise and would highly recommend visiting them. I did the one and a half day St Petersburg trip. This was very good, but don't expect to see everything, at the places you will be visiting as the museum's and the crowds, are huge. This makes it difficult to get around. Also the is very little time for shopping. Except for one place they take you to, which, is quite expressive. Read Less

Wanted to visit St Petersburg and do it with family. Overall a very positive experience but not sure if cruising is for us. It’s campervan all the way now because we’ve just bought one. Royston excursion manager excellent and well organised, plus getting on and off board smooth. Security checks slick and organised. I had researched a number of ports so new what I wanted to do. We wanted to experience the midnight sun. Cruise compass daily magazine informative and useful. We would have liked a short talk about ship soon after boarding so that we could become familiar with layout and what to expect. State room attendant very friendly and efficient. Parking at port efficient and made embarkation easy as luggage boarded for you the same goes for disembarkation. Drinks package a must and worry free if you want to enjoy the large variety of drinks. Choose front or outside cabin if you want plenty of room. Read Less

Although the ship is in need of a few repairs, all in all its still in good shape. The entertainment is good in all areas especially the main theatre. Service is good as you would expect from Royal. The highlights have been with the tours we have chosen. With the cruise tours been to expensive with went with Alla Tours and I have to say they are the best we have ever had from a cruise ship. From the ease of booking and dealing with them, to the expert and friendly guides. I would highly recommend them. Our cabin was spacious and clean with a extra large balcony at the rear of the ship, sometimes sute did lodge outside but room attendant kept it cleaned. The ship was just the right size for us not to big and not to small. The main theatre had two shows a night which were very good. Read Less

Needing a wheelchair adapted balcony stateroom this was the only cruise available 9 months ago. My husband and I have cruised with RCI many times and deceided that as we had never been to the Baltics before we would give it a go. Much of the ship is looking a bit tired however Navigator is due for a re-fit soon. The stateroom was ok the cabin steward very attentive without being intrusive. We refuse to use the main dinning room (Saphire) due to a bad experience last time with the service. Windjammers, offers a buffet style dinning option that is, in our opinion, far superior although the downside is you don't get to dine with the same people each night. The shows are generally great yet if you've sailed within the last 12 months expect some repitition. Oslo was a lovely clean place. Great people and the food at Olivias by the harbour was reasonably priced. Slight difficultly with drop kerbs in some parts which limited us as to what we could reasonable manage. Copenhagen was a bit tramatic due to the lack of drop kerbs at the drop off, but once in the centre was easy to get around. We ventured to the Tivoli gardens only to find no wheelchair access. Again not the cheapest place to grab a bargain or enjoy a reasonable priced coffee but hey your on holiday. Tallin we opted for a shore excursion as I knew that the old part was cobblestones. Even in the coach it was a nightmare. The amount of tramlines and potholes making it a very uncomfortable journey. My advice would be to save your money, walk off the ship and take a look round the stalls at the harbour. St Petersburg private tour which was amazing fabulous can't wait to return. Our driver stopped every time my husband wanted to, got him off the mini bus, loaded him back on. Our guide, Yulia was terrific and promptly brought out an ipad for the bits that my husband couldn't get close enough to. The Hermitage was totally accessible, they have a wheelchair stairlift at the rear then lifts to the floors above and disabled toilets. The Church of the spilt blood was just as accessible. Hell sinki - waste of time! Took the Wheelchair Adapted tour. Held captive for 1.5hr thought it would never end. Absolutely Not Suitable for Wheelchair users unless you like to be thrown about and go up and down side steets, see Marks & Spencers, H&Ms and a Post Office. Several people complained and were given complimentary meals. Skagen A pearl of a place. Probably took 20 mins to walk in to the centre but very flat and lots of drop kerbs. Quaint place with lots of shops and galleries. Stunning! Shops on the ship are a bit rubbish. Despite the 50% off flash sales you can generally get the same goods cheaper on shore. The connoisseur club (cigar, smoking room and bar where good conversation is had without background music) had the best crowd of people you are every likely to meet. Up to 20 of us made our own entertainment each night. Sandor our bar man was brilliant. Such a shame this room is being abolished. Not everyone smoked but had come to join the ad hoc singing, laughter and conversations. 1st time we've been to the Spanish Tapas Sabor food was authentic and very delicious. Staff were attentive. Previously visited Chops and Giovannis which I would also recommend. Would def go back to a few places. But as they are getting rid of the smoking room (my husband doesn't smoke) we're heading back to P&O in 2019. Read Less

Chose the cruise because of good price for the balcony cabin. Very nice cruise. Enjoyed a lot. I tried many other cruising companies and this was my first cruise with RCI. My expectations were high and ibfigued out that there is a tiny difference to other companies. In some issues RCI were slighly better (MDR), in some NCL was better (shows), in some MSC was better (design) and in some Princess were better (for children). But usually RCI are the most expensive so value for money is not the best. Anyway, if find good price would choose RCI but only new ships as this one showed its age. This cruise was tailored especially for British guests. So fifty percent of shows were some UK comediants that were not so interesting for non UK guests like us. Moreover, looks like RCI just copied PnO entertainment program. So instead being RCI the ship tried to be PnO. The real difference is in a very high level crew members and very good MDR food. The overall cruise was great. The ship is amazing considering it's a floating hotel. The room was adequate but slightly dated and showing signs of wear and tear now. The staff were all amazing, the restaurant staff make all the efforts to serve you with what you need and want at all times and are very friendly and helpful. The excursions were overly expensive and the bookings teams are obviously geared to get you to book with them rather than necessarily giving the most appropriate advice. E.g. in Oslo there was an excursion to the statue park by coach which I forget the exact price, but was expensive. We chose to do a bit of research and used Google maps. We walked there which took around 45 minutes and got a team back to the harbour which cost £3.50 or 350 nok. In Bruges we were informed the local buses were infrequent and expensive. However the booked excursion cost $52 each and was only for 3 hours in the city. As soon as you got off the boat However, local coach companies were there offering coach travel, to the same car park as booked ones for €20 each which ran every 30 minutes. Do a bit of research for where you're going before you get there would be my best advice. Also the provisions for under 3s were abysmal. The room was small and offered a few toys on a soft play mats. The activities which ran at 9 am on cruise days were a joke. One day it was bubbles, this consisted of a few bubble wands, most of which were too big for the tiny cup that had the hand soap and water solution in. Needless to say the children were bored in around 30 seconds. The second was story time, which was 2 books on a table. Also, we weren't informed before we travelled , but children who aren't potty trained and would normally wear a swim nappy are not allowed in the pools. My daughter is 2 and shouldn't really be allowed in the pool, but there is no way I could take my water baby on holiday where she could swim almost every day, and say no to her. So you can fill in the gaps. Read Less

Chose this cruise due to half term holiday, and great things on board for the teenagers to participate in. Ports of call were also places we haven't been before so that was also a bonus. Overall the ship is very comfortable, however some of the shows are difficult to get to see due to timings, and the ice show was limited in numbers due to the size of the venue. we missed our cabin slot so didn't get to see it. Don't expect them to cater for any food allergies without a major discussion as despite filling out dietary requirements before boarding, it was not observed and the selection of food was more limited and sometimes difficult to obtain! We got off in oslo and hamburg, both cities have a lot to offer and we had limited to time so were able to get to a few of the attractions in each. Didn't get off in Bruges as been there before I would cruise with royal caribbean again but will be having very strong words with them about their ability to cater for dietary requirements first. All staff were so helpful and always smiling . The room was cleaned twice a day , and towels changed. Very good service . We all liked a drink and the bar service was fantastic in all the bars .the waiters were so quick with the drinks . Smoking room was a godsend for me aswell . Karaoke was a bit of a let down , not enough songs to choose from and was only on once for the adults, but daniel was a great host. We quite like dinning in the wind jarmmer simply had massive selection of food to chose from. Down stair cafe was very handy too with tasty snakes every time you fancy a bite to eat. Night entertainments was very good there was always something going on so you never get bored. On the top deck there was so much going on from music to massive screen playing all your favourite films and more simply wonderful themes. We have had absolutely wonderful time. We decided on this cruise as it was my twin sisters and my 60th birthday just before we sailed and it was the only one that we could find that suited all of us (always fun travelling with family). We have been on the Navi before, but my twin sister and her hubby have never cruised, so RCI is a good choice for those that don't really like dressing up too much (my brother in law). It has been 11 years since we were last on the Navi, and if you look closely, you can see her age, but that is nick picking. Check in was nice and quick - just had to wait in security - a norm nowadays - and on-board for a spot of lunch and our first cocktail. We managed to be and the gate when the others arrived and enjoy their reaction from the first sight of the Royal Promenade - great. After showing around for a bit it was off to see the cabin - we had decided to have a cabin on deck 7 overlooking the promenade as it is a good vantage point for the parades. The beds are great with lots of room, shower/toilet again plenty of room but the amount of space to actually stow your gear is limited, and I am sure we managed to loose something behind the very small drawers under the TV. Our luggage duly arrived and the unpacking commenced... We had a table for 8 in the main dining room on deck 3 first sitting, I don't know how they do it but we the others on our table we another family of 4 (mum dad son and daughter in law) with the same kind of background and humour as us. We managed to dine every night but only once was it on our own, and in most cases, everybody dressed up as suggested. Our table waiters were great - and of course did the sing along when our birthday cake arrived, and even the head waiter was seen every night. The food was good, on occasion excellent and other times just ok, but that was more down to my taste rather than quality. The entertainment team (not the acts) were mostly british and good fun, we even managed to win a key ring,... some of the headliner acts were not to my taste but those we did see were very good. The singers and dances are good but seem to be lacking in something, not sure what, but considering that they have been on as a troup since january, you would have thought they should be top notch. The ice skating shows are still very good. Some of the quizzes seemed to be more international than others.. Ports of call and trips - well the ports were very good, the ships excursions and shuttle bus costs seem to be very high and in one case we did complain about the cost. We only did the one excursion and rather enjoyed it. Bar prices again were not cheap but we don't drink enough to warrant the drinks package and as we had a reasonable amount of on board credit, it worked out ok for us. Read Less

Although our cruise on Navigator of the Seas was slightly below our previous experiences with Royal Caribbean (Harmony of the Seas , Legend of the Seas, Song of Norway), it was still a positive experience. Overall, our experience and cruise was very positive. Our stateroom (inside with promenade view) was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The toilet would not flush one day when we returned from a shore excursion and the issue was quickly addressed by the maintenance staff. The vast majority of the staff members were very pleasant and helpful. The other guests at our main dining room table were very pleasant and friendly; we had a great time talking and getting to know each other during our cruise. Our dining room waiter, Medel, and assistant waiter, Volodymyr, were outstanding -- very friendly and helpful. Our stateroom attendant, Nunun, was very good. While the food was still very good, I felt it was a little better in the dining room on our previous cruises. We purchased the same Internet package as we had on Harmony (VOOM Surf Voyage Package - 3 Devices), the service was not as reliable. I talked with the Internet represent on our third and fourth days because we experienced sporadic problems with access, being "kicked out", and having a screen appear which said we needed to sign in to connect when another screen clearly indicated we were already signed in. He made several changes and the reliability improved, but we still experienced some issues during the remainder of our cruise. We experienced no similar issues on Harmony. Very good variety of activities were offered on-board. We enjoyed our shore excursions, especially the Tuscan Countryside – San Gimignano and Volterra. Unless you wanted your time to be spent shopping and eating, I would not recommend the Cassis (Extended Time) excursion in Marseilles. Our tour guides were informative. We would have liked more time in Lisbon, Portugal and Vigo, Spain. Excursions: Gibraltar - City and Wine Tour (8 rating out of 10) Alicante – Guadalest (9) Rome – Glories of the Gladiators (8) Livorgno – Tuscan Countryside – San Gimignano & Volterra (10) Marseilles – Cassis (Extended Time) (7) Barcelona – Gaudi’s Barcelona (8) Lisbon – Majestic Sceneries & Wines (8) Vigo – The Border Country (8) Read Less

I had done my homework on Royal Caribbean and overall was very happy with the 2 weeks on board, the food and staff especially were the stand out features closely followed by top class entertainment each evening, my only negatives were the prices for the excursions which I found too high, the drinks packages were also very expensive, I didn't like the fact you couldn't buy 1 alcohol package especially as my wife doesn't drink, the only way to get this would of ben to provide a doctors note, this was very disappointing, all inclusive could mean that which would of made this a 10/10 holiday. The times in port could of been longer, especially Rome, for me I would of preferred an overnight in Rome and missed one of the other ports, every day was a bit of a rush, but it is a fantastic way to see so many different places. Finally we met some lovely people, some of which we will keep in touch with, this made the holiday that bit more special. Read Less

So a group of 6 of us travelled out of Southampton on a 14 night Mediterranean cruise. This was my first cruise from the UK and if I am honest, I am not sure I would do it again. There are definitely pro's to it if you are from the UK like unresricted baggage allowance, the hassle free process of no flights etc, but I do feel the first few day and last few days were ruined by bad weather. I appreciate you can get this anywhere but a rainy cloudy day in the Caribbean is still warm but when its gusty and cold, you are restricted to what you can do especially on a sea day. So, to sum up my time. Positives: 1. Service was amazing - Rodney and Dixon in the main dining room were attentive and brilliant. 2. Food was good. It doesn't compare to celebrity in regards to selection but still we had no complaints. 3. Facilities - There is plenty to do on board which was great for those rainy days. 4. Cabin - Both the cabin and cabin steward were fantastic. Negatives - 1. Had some issues in the spa where we kept getting overcharged for treatments. My advice would be to get them to write the price down for you when booking to save any confusion. 2. Shows - Too many comedians (like 6 on a 14 night cruise). They kept repeating the same jokes in the end. 3. The promenade parade. The last time I was on board, they had a huge parade with all the crew involved. Now it is labelled as a circus and lasts around 5 minutes. 4. The biggest bug bear for me was the amount of places they closed for private functions. This leaves little place for the majority to go especially when the weather isn't great so everyone is inside anyway. Overall, great crew, amazing ship but think I will stick to flying somewhere first to give a better chance of good weather. Read Less

We have been on 6 cruises with Royal Caribbean and there has been a drop in service and quality since our first cruise. We have just returned from a 14 night Mediterranean cruise May 2018 and despite having a great holiday there has been a drop in standards. Room attendants seem uninterested since tipping became automatic so no need to show any interest in you or their work. Staff in general are friendly and will do anything to help. Food in the main dining room is very good as is the service. The food is the windjammer is buffet style and despite a wide choice the food is warm at best. Buffet breakfast in the main dining room is also cold/warm. Entertainment is a hit or a miss. Some shows are brilliant and others are terrible. We tend not to bother with the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers and these in our opinion are very dull. If Royal Caribbean want to improve one area its the headliner shows. I would suggest to pay a little more for better quality acts and get rid of the same old faces we see on previous cruises. I have to say the quality of food and servicein the cafe promenade on this cruise was amazing. Again it’s a hit or a miss. Our cruise last year in the Caribbean the Cafe promenade was terrible and far too small for oasis class ship. Read Less

If you are stopping in Lisbon on your cruise, do not select the tour by Tuk Tuk. We paid almost $100 apiece for what was supposed to be a 3 hour tour. We got barely 2 hours of touring and much of that time was spent sitting and waiting to move from one place to another. Total rip-off! Overall, this transatlantic cruise is a good deal. The stops before reaching Southampton were great even though the Lisbon tour was terrible. Some of the entertainment was great but a lot of it was not appealing (ex. a juggler). Singer in the Schooner bar (Anthony Michael is the name, I think) was fantastic as was the Beatles Celebration band. Also the Whitney Houston tribute singer (forgot her name but can still hear the voice). Food is decent overall but had a couple of bad experiences (inedible entrees) in the main dining room and heard about a couple of others (outrageously slow service included) from fellow passengers. Our stateroom attendant was wonderful and made us different towel animals each evening! Read Less

I have always enjoyed Royal Caribbean cruises. Loved the Navigator of the Seas ship and the Promenade was my favorite. So much going on there and you could sit and watch all the people go by. I did not like the area in the Solarium or around the pool as there were not enough chairs and they all had towels on them early in the day. If a towel is on more than 30 min. without someone on it the staff should remove the towel. The service in the main dinning room was superb. Our waiter and Assistant waiter Benjamin took care of all of our needs as soon as possible. They noted what we drank and how er liked all condiments and provided them without our even asking. The only real negative was on disembarkation. So many of our cruise passengers took their suitcases with them which slowed the departure to a crawl. We were herded into the 4th floor dinning room and their was not enough room, It took much longer with trying to get off. I do not know whey everyone needs to keep their luggage. Some has so many suitcases and were not able to handle them. We put ours out the night before and it worked so smoothly. Having a carasole in the claim area was a great idea. Read Less

My wife and I took this cruise as part of the Ante-Up Poker group. It was our first time on Navigator of the Seas and our first cruise with RCCL in 5-years. EMBARKATION: in Miami: It was a "nightmare"! In 20-years of cruising it was the 2nd worse embarkation experience that we have experienced - the worse was several years ago in New Orleans with Carnival. I won't go into detail but please take my word, it was horrible! THE SHIP: The ship was fine. Clean and in good condition - what we expect every cruise. ENTERTAINMENT: I enjoyed the entertainment more than my wife did. I would rate entertainment 9/10. CABIN: We had a balcony on Deck 8, mid-ship. We were very satisfied with the cabin. ACTIVITIES: I came on the cruise to play poker so I spent most of my time in our private poker room on Deck 2. My wife is a "sun goddess" so she spent most of her time in the sun. She did go to the ice show and said it was GREAT! FOOD: We did not try any of the "specialty" restaurants. They did not appeal to us but there are several to chose from. We mainly ate breakfast/dinner in the Main Dining Room (MDR). We were there with a large group so we had tables assigned together. The second night the Dining Room Manager tried to move our group of six to a table on the other side of the MDR because he wanted to assign other people to our larger table - we got that worked out and remained at our table the entire cruise. Day 2 the dinner service in the MDR was very bad but a talk with the Head Waiter cured that and our service was EXCELLENT the remainder of the cruise. As for the food in the MDR (evening meal) I rate it 5/10. We were on Carnival in March and Celebrity Oct 2017. Carnival easily had better food and Celebrity there is no comparison. The food int the Windjammer (buffet) was the worse we have experienced on any cruise (and we have been on a lot of cruises). I rated them 1/10. SERVICE: Cabin Steward 10/10 Dining staff; 10/10 (after the 2nd day) Casino Staff: 10/10 STOPS: Everything was good there. We had to skip Aruba (been there many times) due to bad weather. Our Captain wouldn't try to dock - Carnival made it. DEBARKATION: That went GREAT! BOTTOM LINE: I had a great cruise. 9-days of playing poker! I even went upstairs to the ship's casino and won a cruise on the Allure of the Seas in December (Cabin + a seat in the $100,000 poker tournament). Read Less

Crew was always helpful and friendly. Customer Service was not always on top of things. Shore excursions staff was very helpful. I will travel with RC again. The meals were very good well prepared and service was excellent . Meals were not always hot. Art Show was very interesting. Saw several shows with DaZ and Richie C and enjoyed all of them. They are talented and amusing. The cruise line is lucky to have them. Also enjoyed the Elvis impersonator . The Las Vegas tenors were wonderful. All of the ship entertainment was good. Enjoyed the Aquarium and the swim with the dolphins. Expererence was very good. Snorkeling was disappointing I was lead to believe someone would snorkel with us and we would have instruction none of that happened. I was very disappointed, but Shore Excursions crew refunded my money and was very concerned about my problem. It was very easy getting on and off the ship. All the crew was friendly and helpful. Over all my cruise was fun and I enjoyed all of it. I enjoyed my time at sea. Read Less

We chose this cruise because I'm never ready to get off the ship on seven day cruises and this was a nine day. Just right!! Port of Miami is a nightmare. Every time that we go out of Miami there is some kind of debacle. We arrived at 10;30 documents and passports in hand. We were quickly checked in and given our seapass cards. Then, as in the past were not permitted to board. We stood in a massive line for two hours. This is our eighteenth cruise and we have never run into this at any other port. They need to either have a waiting room with seating, or have the ship/and boarding later after the ship has been cleared/cleaned and ready to receive passengers. We have been on two of the sister ships of the Navigator of the Seas and always enjoyed the size of the ships. The ship was clean and nicely decorated. We had a balcony on deck seven. Our room and balcony were larger than usual and our room steward was outstanding. We did have an "issue" with our mattress, however. The one side was perfect and the other side had a bunch of hard lumps. Our room steward did try to fix the problem with some success. We loved the staff on this ship! As stated earlier, our cabin steward was the best. The staff in the Windjammer was very friendly and helpful and the food was great. The food and staff in the main dining room was good also, however there was hardly any variety from day to day and the staff was clearly short-handed, and rushed. There was some compromise on the service in the main dining room because of the short-handed staff. We also ate in Chops Grill one night. The food and service was good but I don't know if it was worth the extra money. The entertainment was "good" the ice show outstanding. We went to the beach in Curacao. It was nice and clean and there was plenty of shade for my easily sunburned spouse. This was our first time in Bonaire. We booked an excursion to Spice Beach. VERY disappointed with the old run-down not air conditioned school bus that was sent to pick us up, driven by the aloof driver. No help, no conversation. Spice Beach Resort has a nice bar/restaurant and a large pool. This beach is perfect for snorkelers, not swimming as it is rough coral then a five foot drop off. There were lots of beautiful fish to see while snorkeling. Our stop in Aruba was canceled because of the weather there. We went to Nassau instead and although we have been there countless times, we have never been to Pearl Island. This turned out to be the nicest excursion on the whole cruise. It's beautiful in every way---so glad we discovered it. We stayed in Miami an extra day so we were not in a big rush to get off of the ship. We had breakfast and waited our turn and found our luggage easily due to the new system. All in all it was a nice cruise, however if Royal Caribbean keeps cutting back they will have to change their name to Ordinary Caribbean. Read Less
