Ports visited...excellent choices. Only disappointment was Bruge port of entry. Very disorganized, when doing your own walking tour. Only two shuttle busses and no proper line up for getting on buses. Mass confusion. Bruge itself was beautiful. Overall, loved our holiday. Our favorite ports Copenhagen, St. Petersburg, really enjoyed Helsinki, very, very clean. Also, really liked Bruge. Tours that we took showed many, many interesting sights, Our guides were very knowledgeable, they really knew the history of their countries. Would seriously recommend these ports of call. Weather was a bit on the up and down side, but did not take away from our overall experience. The embarkation and existing from the ship, was the best experience we have had for all the cruises we have taken to date. Was disappointed that there was no wine packages available. Price of drinks are very expensive, especially when you are taking in the CDN dollar exchange. Knowing what we know now and we hadn't done the cruise before, we would definetly book this cruise. We choose this cruise because my husband is not good in strong sun - so we felt the Baltic Cruise would be a good one to go on - also the friends we went with had been before and enjoyed it. We found the embarkation quite painless and the luggage appeared in our room quite quickly. The ship was beautifully appointed and the formal dining rooms were superb. We found the entertainment that we went to of a very high standard, as was the Ice Show that we went to see. The Entertainments and Activities I found slightly disappointing, especially when the ship was at sea, there weren't enough quizzes etc., and most of them seemed to be US orientated, which gave us Brits a disadvantage. Dining area was superb and our waiters Nelson and Christito were both superb! One thing I would criticise was that there weren't enough seats in the seating areas in the bars - the ship had 3000 people on board and there were nowhere near enough seats available! Service at the bars was sometimes slow, however, the service in the dining room was excellent as was that of our Steward. Read Less

Mainly to see Russia and Baltic countries found Estonia wonderful,Russian shore excursions to peterhof palace and hermitage to rushed not able to really take in art or rooms because you are herded like cattle no time to get refreshments or buy from souvenir stalls and they had no ventilation and you were drained at end of tour. Cophenhargen the shuttle bus drivers on 2 of the buses had no idea were the drop of point was and got lost were stuck on bus for over hour and half did not know how to turn of bus heating in end we were told to get of bus and find drop off point ourselves as the 2 buses had got stuck and caused traffic jam police told us were to go. All other destinations were really nice. At beginning of cruise we had booked with virgin my time dinning at 6pm and had said my wife had special dietary needs because of her Barrett's osphagus.when we went to dinning room we were told we were on the buffet at 5.30pm and that was that even though I had the paper work from virgin saying we were correct and we had to have a big argument we were all ready to leave cruise until a manager came over and finally got it sorted and they blamed virgin for it yet I had paper work to prove it was royal carribeans fault. Apart from that the the rest of the cruise was excellent. Read Less

This cruise was chosen because of the ports it visited. We did the Northern Delights cruise and for the most part thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are wonderful, we chose to dine in the dining room each night and our waiters Galen and Jose were fabulous. We were lucky with the others on our table and we all ate together every night and had great fun. The at sea days were boring because the weather was not good so we tried to join some quizzes and activities inside but as someone else has stated, the venues were nowhere near big enough to accomodate the number of people wishing to attend so we missed out, the speciality shows were nothing spectacular and more geared to people much older than me at age 60, and the special nights on the promenade were good though very crowded. We enjoyed most ports except St Petersburg, where the customs process was ridiculously long. The role calls for excursions are too long. You sit there for up to 45 minutes after the allotted time then head off hoping that the rest stop isn't too far away. We didn't find the drinks too expensive and the food was excellent. Even in the Windjammer for breakfast the service was good once you found a seat. We would definitely do another RC cruise but with less sea days. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the amazing places we would visit. We were not disappointed!! The itinerary was fantastic and we saw the most wonderful sights which we will never forget. We had not travelled on Royal Caribbean before so were very pleased with the best checkin we have ever had. Then the food was also the best we had eaten on any of the cruises we had previously done with other companies. We felt the entertainment - i.e. shows in theatre were not of standard on some other ships but the ice show was amazing - especially when they have to perform whilst on rough seas! We thought the facilities for young people was amazing - i.e. surfing; ice skating; climbing wall - but we felt that in our 60's it would not be wise to undertake these. So all in all we were well please and would thoroughly recommend the Baltic Cruise. Read Less

We have travelled with Royal Caribbean for 8 times now. Using a wheelchair on board ship was easy, the staff are very helpful in all areas. The ship is clean and kept up well for her age. Its the 3rd time we been on her and always pleased with the staff. The food is briallant the waiting staff are great helpful. The bar waiting staff on deck 11 helpful, where ever you go on the ship. The staff keep all areas clean, they are always cleaning. The stateroom staff keep your cabin clean and tidy. They attend you twice a day, on change over days, they work very hard in the time. Food is great, in the dinning and and in windjammer , and when you go into the windjammer a memeber of staff is dressed up, saying washy washy yummy yummy, always makes us laugh, and a large brouzn dog who has something on different every day. so much choose in food, but some people do make pigs of then selfs Booked another cruise for next year while we were on board. The shore team helped me to get off the ship in time, sorted out a seat without any charge. Read Less

We went to Russia on this cruise ship. My mum has a bad leg and can't walk far. It was very good and the ship was clean. We was at the back on deck 9. Inside cabin was nice with a good choice of TV channels, BBC World and CNN. Food in the Windjammer was good, me and mum filled ourselves up most nights. The main dining room was not all that good so we just went for the formal evenings. Crew friendly, drink packages not worth it plenty of hot drinks, and lemonade to drink. Went on 2 small few hour tours in St Petersburg, The process is long getting people off the ship. THIS IS NOT THE CREW TO BLAME. The Russian Port needs passports to issue a entry slip. The lines are long and the tour coach was very hot the first day. At end of day you can easily do the rest of ports on own. Oslo walk in 15 mins, Copenhagen walk in 30 min, Helsinki walk in maybe 30 min, Tallinn step of the ship. St Petersburg need VISA and I would say just book with RCL or another operator. Southampton is ironically the worst but once your on ship its ok. Read Less

The selection of food was unbelievable. There was also a fantastic selection of entertainment. We loved the shows, the quizzes, the entertainment on the promenade was super, the graffiti artists doing the irish music were fantastic entertainers they had the whole place rocking. We travelled with our adult children and they loved the disco and the tours. I will definitely book another cruise with Royal Caribbean they are a fantastic company to deal with Read Less

From the moment you step aboard the ship the magical journey begins. You are ushered smoothly aboard, shown how to find your room, and how to navigate around the ship. Then you leave shore and are on your way! Even that first night aboard, your dinner is wonderful, and you wonder how they can possibly manage to feed all these people, let alone so well. Then after dinner it is "Show Time"! The entertainment aboard Royal Caribbean is world class, and there is something for everyone. The Ports of Call on this cruise were all places that should be seen if at all possible, St. Petersburg, Russia at the top of the list, but there was a hidden gem we had NOT expected! Tallinn, Estonia is BEAUTIFUL, it's people wonderful and it's story tragic, but inspiring. What an eye opener! There is SO mush beauty and richness in St. Petersburg it is difficult to even take it all in, and 2 days barely skims the surface, but if you EVER get the chance to get there, by all means go! However, stop by Estonia on your way to or from. Read Less

For complete details, please see my blog post about this cruise at https://beentherethoughtthat.blogspot.com/2017/07/a-review-rccl-scores-big-on.html This cruise was highlighted by exceptional service, excellent food and solid entertainment. This itinerary was excellent with the highlights being St. Petersburg, Coppenhagen, Tallin and Bruges. Helsinki and Oslo are pleasant, but don't have the "wow" factor of the other two. Food was very good in both the dining room and Windjammer. Embarkation/Debarkation were amazing. Sailing from Southampton, England is outstanding. Well organized, no lines and very pleasant RCCL staff. The on-ship service was outstanding no matter what function -- security, servers, cabine stewards, etc. This may have been the most consistent and pleasant service we've had on nine RCCL cruises. Entertainment, like any cruise ship, varies. The production numbers were solid. The comedians, as cruise ship comedians have been known to be, are mediocre. However, Toni Warne, second-place finisher on “The Voice UK” and Graffiti Classics, also UK based were beyond exceptional. As for the cruising experience, don't prejudge it by the service you get from RCCL's U.S. operations. The corporate folks should take a lesson from their onboard counterparts. We had never cruised these ports before and it was one cruise we had talked about for several years. We were not disappointed. Navigator has a great crew and the ship is kept in great shape. The RC land tours were well done and very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this cruise. The only negative on this particular cruise is the same issue we have with most of the Royal Caribbean cruises. It is obvious that the food quality is going downhill. It seems the ingredients are getting cheaper and the selection of good food is getting cut back all the time. The dining room service is as good as ever but the food selection and quality is just not there anymore. There are other cost cutting issues that keep getting implemented and the sad thing is that only the long time cruisers seem to notice. RC is obviously playing to the younger, newer cruisers who don't realize what they are no longer getting. For us older, loyal cruisers it may be time to look for another cruise line who still appreciates the folks who cruise all the time. Read Less

Enjoyed the cruise and all the ports. Our Cruise Director Cuddy was fun and entertaining. We enjoyed the excursions and the ship's staff. The dining room service was excellent and the food was good. We didn't use any of the athletic or spa facilities so I can't comment on those. We did go to the evening shows which were entertaining. We enjoyed Julian Bray's talks on things to see and do at the different ports, as well as, his other historic talks. Our only complaint would be that the ship is looking very dated and worn. While riding the elevators you could look down and see layers of dust everywhere. The furniture in the common areas and in our stateroom were vert stained. The internet was expensive and overall very slow. Sometimes we had trouble connecting. Television (if you have time for it) was horrible. For 12 days they offered the same Big Bang Theory show every day. This goes for all of the TV shows except for BBC news. We dressed light (t-shirts) and found its to be too warm in the common areas as well as our room. Maintenance was prompt to come to our room and replaced a part, but it still was not cool. Read Less

This was our first cruise and we didn't know quite what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised with the overall experience and would definitely go on a cruise again. Embarkation and disembarkation went without a hitch. On disembarkation we decided to take our own luggage off, and left the ship at 6.30am. There was no queues and no searching for baggage. The cabin was comfortable, clean and plenty of storage. We had a balcony, which was great, our stewardess, Cathyann was wonderful. Sabrina restaurant was great but because our table was booked for 8.30pm each night, we preferred to eat earlier in Windjammer, the self service restaurant (food was fabulous!) so we could catch a show in the theater. For smokers there is plenty of smoking areas and was permitted in the casino and Connoisseur Club. We didn't go on the excursions as we preferred to explore ourselves. In Lisbon we stumbled upon the military museum, which had fantastic exhibits and the building inside was fantastic! Many thanks and well done to ALL the staff on 'The Navigator of the Seas', you should all be extremely proud of your efforts. We have made some wonderful memories which we can cherish for many years to come. We can't wait to 'set sail' again! Read Less

The Cruise Director Cuddy was such a big and friendly character in every way. The dining staff, Douglas and Diogo in the Sapphire Dining Room were always smiling and very hospitable and the food was tip-top. Our room attendant Wayan was so dedicated to keep our room clean. We were not bored at all as there was something constantly going on throughout the day. The theatre shows were entertaining especially Gareth Oliver and his wife, ventriloquists with a difference! Very funny and so quick witted. Hilary O'Neil and the Beatles Celebration were excellent entertainment also. Embarking and disembarking was so slick and hassle-free. I am booked on this ship again in October and really looking forward to Sunshine in the Canaries. Thank you RC for a wonderful de-stressing break. Read Less

The whole ship was amazing, loads of different bars and entertainment going on. The swimming pools and deck areas were lovely and with the added bonus of the outdoor cinema. There were also some fun competitions to watch but not so much that it got in the way of relaxing. There is a great basketball, golf, flowrider, climbing wall area where the older children seemed to keep disappearing to. First time cruisers, the ship is beyond compare, luxury at is best. Our cabin was spacious, clean and well laid out. Bed was comfortable and extremely roomy. Food catered for everyone's taste and the dining experience was second to none which offered a wide range of menus, only problem was in choosing from such a wonderful list, this coupled with superb service from friendly, welcoming staff made it the ultimate experience. There are so much activities offered that we found it impossible to try all, but the ones we did were brilliant from theatre shows to the numerous pools there were not enough hours in the day. We need another cruise to complete all the activities. The staff were all so obliging, nothing was too much trouble, we never saw one unfriendly face the entire time. Boarding was quick and painless - 40 minutes from having our cases taken away from the car, and then parking in Southampton, we were in the Windjammer having a drink and choosing lunch. In the stateroom by 1pm, cases there, and we went down to dinner at 6 relaxed and looking forward to dinner. The food was good - and there was plenty of choice. The main restaurant served daily specials with a core menu of regular choices, all to a good standard, and the Windjammer at lunchtime offered around a dozen choices from the buffet including a daily carvery, Indian selections, Chinese, pasta, as well as various casseroles/pies. There was a good selection of salads as well. If we chose something that wasn't to our taste, then we got something else, and ate well. Service was exceptional. Staff were friendly, and quick. Wine came quickly, and with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. There was a comprehensive entertainment programme which we enjoyed. Again, if we weren't enjoying something we left. There was always something to do. We avoided the excursions but went ashore under our own steam - particularly enjoyable were Cadiz, Malaga, and Avaccio. Cabin was roomy, clean and the shower was excellent. A great choice of bars Disembarkation was smooth and painless, we left the cases out on the last night, and walked off without any delay, where they were easy to find. From ship to car in 30 minutes, and then the drive home. I take the view that you get out what you put in - looking at some of the other reviews makes me sad for the people who wrote them Beware the moaners - they will suck the life out of you if you let them. I guess being miserable and wanting to share it is a lifestyle choice for some people but don't let them ruin your holiday or affect your choices. This was a great experience, and one we highly recommend. Read Less

I like the Voyager class of ships, so I enjoyed the Navigator. But cuts backs are obvious in food, entertainment and activities. Enjoyed the days at sea just wish there had been more to do. I really miss the professional crafters. The crafts provided by Royal Caribbean are the same old things that they have been doing for years. I don't think that the kits are worth the price. The quality of service on the Navigator was excellent. The crew was very friendly. Enjoyed the Diamond lounge and happy hours. The bar tenders were very attentive and hard working. The dining room staff were very good and even supplied the table with Indian food to share upon request. Had a problem with the excursion desk but all was resolved by the Assistant Manager. I enjoyed all of the ports except Ponta Delgada. There is not much to do there once you have done all the excursions that you are interested in. I have been there too many times. Other ports in the area are more interesting and wish this one would be dropped by Royal Caribbean. I did walk through town and visited the market. I used the time in port to do my gift shopping. As a solo traveler I appreciated the fact that we met for lunch on all the sea days. In the past we did not meet on all the sea days. I wish our crew member who escorted us had stayed for lunch. In the past when they stayed lunch was more interesting because we got an insight into the crew's life on the ship. I am loyal to Royal Caribbean and will continue to sail with them. Less Read Less

I am glad to say that we embarked on an amazing adventure on board the Navigator of the Seas. It was an excellent choice. The trip started when we left Jordan heading the spend few days with our friends in Vienna and then headed towards Southampton to catch our cruise.the Flight on board Vienna Airlines was smooth and quick once we reached Heathrow airport we headed directly to the Bus Station -National Express- terminal 2&3 to catch our ride to Southampton. This was the cheapest option to reach Southampton from the airport. Tip buying tickets on line and ahead of time is cheaper. we did the same for our ride back to the airport on our last day of the cruise. The Cruise was excellent in terms of services staff friendliness food cabins entertainment smoothness of embarkation and disembarkation. In terms of our Cabin it was assigned to us by Royal Caribbean since it was a Guarantee basis - our booking was made a bit late. The assigned cabin was in an excellent location and was very specious. During the cruise we opted to take two excursions - Pisa &Florence and Rome excursions due to distance from the port and us wanting to see as much as we can during our stay in Italy. We chose the ones with Navigation device as we wanted to explore as much as possible on our own. Food was excellent as staff were really very friendly and attentive. Entertainment on board was really excellent especially the ICE show and the two themed parties done on the promenade. Ports of call were as we expected and more. it was an adventure we will not forget and surely we will consider cruising with Royal Caribbean the future. Read Less

We have cruised on Navigator many times and thoroughly enjoy the ship, the staff and the food but not always the entertainment. We find people from all over the world interesting but we do not enjoy the negative reviews that some cruisers find it necessary to emphasise, peoples opinions vary but we find some comments do not relate to the same cruises we have experienced. We sailed on 12 May and the first 3 days we not as warm as usual for the time of year however temperatures improved and as we have visited these ports previously it is still a pleasure to repeat our visit, the entertainment in the theatre could have been better but the ice skating is excellent, I think since the drinks packages have been offered to cruisers and the dress code is more casual, cruising is not the same at all but each tohis own as long as everyone has a good vacation.
