Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

We have just done a two week med cruise costing £10600 for two balcony cabins. The ship and staff were much as expected which was on the whole very good. First the bad points: Many of our fellow passengers seemed to be hugely overweight, mostly covered in tattoos, smoking and drinking incessantly. I'm not sure if Royal Caribbean is going for the right market here. Wifi was a rip off at ...

Top class service but ship a little dated now

This was our first cruise so nothing to compare with but our overall feeling was that the ship was run down. The staterooms were quite tatty looking and in need of a revamp - we expected more for what we paid. The cruise itself was great and we had a fab time with some great entertainment. The entertainment team were great. Flowrider I think should be a bit better organised - kids were having to ...

It was a family cruise foe Eleven of us. The Ship was lovely and the staff were real friendly. Myself my partner and 14 year old daughter in cabin, was quite small not a lot of space when they put the sofa bed down. My brother had an inside cabin with his wife and 2 daughters of 14 and 16, not enough space to swing a cat, really not suitable for a family room as they call it,o.k if your ...

Have sailed on Independance twice and its great. This ship is similare size, but older, and it is starting to show. Definite lack of maintenance all round and things like broken tiles in toilets, scuffed and dirty seats and torn carpets etc. Makes you wonder what the rest of the ship is like. Biggest thing was lack of staff (assume lots of staff have been robbed to staff new ships). So ...

The Ship... Navigator of the Seas/ Balcony Stateroom. A cruise of two halves. One bit good, the other not so good. Not the first time I have sailed on Royal Caribbean but my first time on Navigator. Overall our cruise was good and we did have a great time in all the ports we visited but I was very disappointed in the condition of the ship. Navigator is looking very old and tired and ...

Disappointed

1st cruise booked as a special occasion for our 25th anniversary. Travelled with 2 children 11 and13 years. Cruise was overcrowded with queues for everything. Activities over subscribed. Staff looked exhausted and harassed and couldn’t cope with numbers on board. Communal areas dirty. Food in main restaurant was hit and miss and sent food back on several occasions, but because service was so slow ...

This cruise was chosen for the price and the expected sun. As we had visited each port before except 1 it was an excuse to not do much. Embarkation and disembarkation in Southampton was very easy and smooth. Getting on our bags were taken from our car and severed to us quickly and getting off our bags were collected the night before, w left at our allocated time and bags were easy to find and exit ...

Is cruising for you?

The ship is starting to look tired and a little shabby in some places i.e. Carpets and stairs on the pool deck. But the cleanliness on board is second to none and the staff work tirelessly to ensure your holiday is the best. Food was wonderful. Plenty of choice in the Windjammer. Very busy at times but always managed to find a table. Food was hot, presented well and delicious. Table clearing ...

Can still be enjoyable if you don't let the cost cutting get to you

We cruise with RC quite regularly so it is very easy to notice the ever increasing evidence of cost cutting each time we go on board. It hasn't quite reached the point where I would consider going elsewhere but it's very close. Firstly, the Main Dining Room. Vastly understaffed. Can't blame the wait staff. It's not their fault that there isn't enough of them. Result is a very long wait between ...

Floating mall catering to kids in the North Atlantic

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

User Avatar

Its a floating mall with too many people and too few hours ashore at ports of call, The North Atlantic is too cold even at the height of summer: literally too windy and/or cool (or even rainy) to enjoy being outside for a good part of the time. Especially galling is RC letting guests reserve lounge chairs in the pool areas, when it was nice out, by leaving their towels and whatnot there as they go ...
