I'll keep this short since I really don't have a comparison point. My family had a great time on the Navigator. It was Spring Break for my school aged kids, so there were lots of families on the boat. This was great as my kids were easily able to find other kids to hang with either in Adventure Ocean or at the Arcade/Sports Court. My kids loved getting to be on a nice vacation with us and ...
As a new cruiser, I have only small river barges as comparison, but I loved this trip on the Navigator! The crew, every one I encountered, were wonderful, professional and friendly. Dias, our Steward, couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He knew right away I didn't like to get up early.
I thought the food was very good considering the number of passengers and crew. I wish they didn't ...
Our family of 4 drove from DFW area to Galveston. We parked right across from the Carnival cruise ship area so we didn't have to stand in line to take a shuttle bus. We gave our luggage to the porters.
We got there about 12:30p and waited in one of the four lines. The check-in process took about 1 hr. We saw some people carrying all their luggage. We dropped our carry on in our rooms since they ...
NOTS is a great cruise ship. We love the open Promenade design. Much more "fun" than other ships where you have to walk through clubs and casinos or walk down cabin hallways to get from end to end of the ship. Wonderful food in both the cafeteria and the MDR. Extremely gracious crew! Son teen had a fun time with other teens. Daughter teen was less than thrilled with the teen programs. The ...
This was our first cruise. We found everything went smoothly, but could have used some more hand holding along the way. Embarkation went smoothly, but we were aided by being suite guests which put us in a much shorter line. Did not realize we could get our food in the Windjammer and take it to Chops for embarkation lunch - nice suite perk. Windjammer was crowded but we found a table within about 5 ...
Embarkation:
The Port of Galveston is not the most friendly locale from which to cruise. Parking lots are located a distance from the cruise terminals. Cruisers must take a shuttle from the parking lots to the terminal. When multiple ships are in port at the same time, the congestion is terrible. Once at the terminal, embarkation processing efficiency depended on the time of day one boards. We ...
This cruise was my wife and my seventh Royal Caribbean cruise, and first since having children. We swapped to Disney for the previous 2 cruises since Disney sailed from Galveston for a time (Disney Magic), and we live around 45 minutes from the port. With Disney moving out of Galveston and Royal Caribbean bringing in a ship (Navigator of the Seas) that has a nursery and kids club for our 13 month ...
This was our 5th cruise and first on Royal Caribbean (have another one planned in Oct). Have sailed Norwegian and Princess twice each before. Since we live in Texas, Galveston is great to sail from as no air travel is needed. Something broke down on embarkation and line was long and slow, but disembarkation was fast and early!
SHIP: Needs a third bank of elevators at the aft - long walk to them ...
We sailed out of Galveston on March 1, 2015. Checking in at the port was very quick and simple. We were on deck 10, so we were asked to show up between 11:30 and 12:00 for check in, which we did. We were through everything in less than 30 minutes. I think people that arrived later had some longer waits. We ate lunch in the Windjammer, which is always packed on sail away day. Our room was ready ...
After going on a Disney cruise two years ago and a Royal Caribbean 5 years ago, I had high expectations. Royal Caribbean disappointed.
- Food - Disappointing. On previous cruises on Royal Caribbean & Disney, the food was exceptional. The dinner food was decent, but worse than other cruises. The breakfast in Windjammer was terrible. Royal Caribbean pushed the paid dining - Are they making the free ...
