My wife and I sailed with another couple who are our good friends to Roatan, Belize and Cozumel 09-22 thru 29. My wife gets carsick, so I booked an inside, lower deck room to try and insure she wouldn't be uncomfortable with ship movement. She also got trans-dermal motion sickness patches, just in case. Fortunately she never even had to use them, tho there wasn't much rough sea that week. Anyway, ...
I enjoyed this cruise more than the my two previous cruises. The Conquest was a beautiful ship. The food was absolutely fabulous. I was disappointed with the food on the Ecstasy so this was a pleasant surprise. We had dinner in the dining room six out of seven nights. We choose Your time Dining. This worked out great for us and we were able to meet more people this way when were seated at a table ...
This was our 5th cruise with Carnival and 2nd cruise on the Conquest... We sailed with her 10 years ago and had fond memories... This review is a quick review without using names and specific facilities.... Overall we liked the ship and the crew but found areas that will keep us from going on Carnival again.... The MDR food was not very good except on a couple of nights... Port nights the food was ...
This was our third Carnivial cruise in three years. We sailed on the Elation (2011 from Mobile) and Dream (2012 from Florida). Conquest was right in between - to me it had just enough of the "large boat" features such as the speciality bars, steakhouse, balconies - without as much of the crowds. We felt Dream was too crowded - it seemed most of the added space was simply cabins - the public spaces ...
I'll be posting on the Carnival Conquest board our experiences - for both cruises - the one June and I enjoyed and the one everyone else was on!!
(But then again, we are not first-time cruisers and I planned our activities accordingly.)
Our Cruise:
* Excellent cabin staff - Dave and his assistant were professional and fulfilled every request.
* Cabin (Jr. Suite) as expected except the carpets ...
My friend and I disembarked on August 11th from New Orleans onboard the beautiful and elegant Carnival Conquest. Boarding the ship was simple and fast, and our staterooms were ready in less than 15 minutes after we were onboard, bags and everything already next to the door. We met the steward and he was great! He was always ready to do whatever you asked of him. He and his whole crew never missed ...
The ship was old - carpet in our suites had numerous large stains, couches were worn. The mode of communication that we had received on previous cruises was way less, leaving us guessing what to do to get of at the ports. Thankfully, I asked for one but the worst was Belize City where we had to tender. Instructions on the front of the daily news told where to go; however, it did not note there ...
We flew into New Orleans Saturday afternoon before the cruise and stayed at the Embassy Suites in the French Quarter near the port.
Embarkation:
The Embarkation was fast and easy, by far the quickest boarding time I have ever experienced. Our bags did not get to our rooms till about 4.
Days at sea:
The first two days at sea were lots of fun and filled with lots of activities.
Roatan:
Roatan ...
Every year I take my nephews on vacation. Time was limited this year, so we chose this W Caribbean cruise that had give away rates. :) We were in a tight quad, inside cabin, but my traveling style accepts this easily. This was cruise 4 for my nephews, on 4 different lines, and cruise 82 for me.
We arrived 4 days early, so I could show my nephews around New Orleans, a favorite city of mine. We ...
