This is third time my family and I have been on the Summit, once in 2011, then 2013 and June of 2016. The updates to the NJ port make it so much easier getting on and off the ship.
Over the times we have been on the ship I have seen the changes that have taken place, some good and not so good. The public areas look good with some changes being done in March/April of this year.

My entire family sailed to Bermuda in celebration of our parents 60th anniversary. The service and food was the best. The entire staff went above and beyond to give the utmost service to the passengers. It was well managed, no wait times during boarding and departure. Our waiters Norman and Soto get a 5 Star Rating they were the best! My thanks to them for the superior service! The excursion ...
My son and I took this cruise a couple of years ago and had a great time. We wanted to share the experience with my husband. Bermuda is a great port, and is easy to get around. Horseshoe Bay is a bus ride or $7 shuttle ride away, there are ferries to get people easily to Hamilton and St. George's, and there is even a free ride to get you from the ship to the shops at the Dockyards, for those with ...
Celebrity is one of the few cruise lines that sail to Bermuda and give you three days on the island. We had a great time! The food was good, the entertainment very good, and the service good. Not as many activities on board as other cruise lines and very few exercise classes without a fee. The fitness instructor wasn't very enthusiastic which made it difficult for us to want to pay a fee to ...
About Us: We are in our late forties and usually travel with our two children (aged 16 and 19). On this cruise it was just my husband and myself. We have previously cruised on Carnival (Dream, Sunshine and Breeze x 2), Norwegian (Breakaway), and Royal Caribbean (Voyager of the Seas). This was our first cruise with Celebrity. This was a return trip to Bermuda for us having been last spring on the ...
A little late in getting this review out, but not a reflection on the outstanding trip we had on the Summit in June, 2016. A little about us…we love our vacations, and have been on smaller and mega-ships, balconies and suites, and throughout the Caribbean and Mexico areas. Out time on the Summit was, from the moment we drove into NJ to the moment we sadly got in our car to depart, by far, the best ...
This was my 8th cruise, but my first with Celebrity. My overall impression is that I'm surprised it's considered "luxury" travel, as I found it no more "luxurious" than Carnival (a cruise line I love). Though I have no major complaints at all about the trip (it was fabulous!), I can't say the Celebrity Summit was anything overly special.
Pros:
- female captain with a fabulous sense of ...
Love Celebrity. Good food, good entertainment and always a wonderful crew. We were extra fortunate to sail with Captain Kate.Embarkation and debarkation were extremely well done & quick. Our cabin was wonderful. Our dining room (which was the suite dining room) was excellent-with outstanding service. There were plenty activities for all ages and many fine shore excursions. We enjoyed it so much ...
We were in a Veranda suite 6091. Unfortunately, it looks right down on the lifeboats. First trip to the pools. Unfortunately, impossible to find lounge chairs and anyway the pool was a mob scene. Crowded is an understatement. When we finally did catch a lounge chair they were totally uncomfortable anyway. Signage on this ship is very poor. We quickly tired of wandering this way and that trying to ...
Wanted to take my family to Bermuda. Normally go with Carnival or NCL. Took 11 year old son, Wife, Parents and Aunt and Uncle to try out Celebrity. They ran a great offer that included gratuities, drinks and onboard credit. Took five trips to Concierge class office to make them stop adding gratuities to the bill. One of the Perks should have been free oxygen tanks because the average age on ...
